FEDERAL GENDARMERIE, ISTOKGRAD TERRITORIAL MILITIA LAUNCH COUNTER-OFFENSIVE TO BREAK THE SIEGE OF BANJA LUKA

BANJA LUKA, NOVA SRBJA —
Federal Gendarmerie and Istokgrad Territorial Militia forces launched a counteroffensive against the Novosad Republic separatists east of Banja Luka, a Federal Gendarmerie spokesman said, aiming to reverse potentially devastating gains by the separatist forces and in an attempt to break the siege of the capital city. President Vlahovic said hundreds of Federal troops, who had assembled east of the capital city, launched an assault on separatist positions.
Federal Government sources later told Nova Srbja Today the pro-federal government forces, which they said included locally allied militias, had advanced to within one kilometer of separatist artillery positions north of Banja Luka. One officer said the Federal-led forces exchanged fire with the separatists, but there was no immediate word on casualties. A spokesman for the Istokgrad Territorial Militia, said that more than 2,000 reinforcements had joined the pro-government advance and that they had managed to secure large sectors of the frontline.

In an attempt to boost the morale of the civilians in Banja Luka, by Nova Srbja's most popular folk singer Roki Vulovic. The song is expected to reach #1 position in Nova Srbja's music rankings.

Grey clouds have brought us sorrow,
they've covered our motherland entirely.
All the black ravens have risen,
but our hearts, they have not broken.
All the black ravens have risen,
but our hearts, they have not broken.

Hear us Srbjans of the world, wherever you are,
in Nova Srbja and all of Europe!
Be with us in the name of Freedom,
togheter we are stronger, it is the last hour.

We did not want to battle,
the wars have been started by our enemies.
Many they have started by now,
but not a single battle have they won.
Many they have started by now,
but not a single battle have they won.

The voice of the truth and justice is now heard,
no one else will ever conquer us again.
The ravens might rise again,
but they will not break the brave Srbjan hearts.
The ravens might rise again,
but they will not break the brave Srbjan hearts.

Hear us Srbjans of the world, wherever you are,
in Nova Srbja and all of Europe!
Be with us in the name of Freedom,
togheter we are stronger, it is the last hour.

WAR CRIMES IN NOVA SRBJA? FEDERAL FORCES DISCOVER MASS GRAVE IN LIBERATED AREA.

NOVA SRBJA - A mass grave containing the remains of about 300 people has been found near a Federal Gendarmerie barrack in the territory of the self-proclaimed Republic of Novosad. The forces of the Istokgrad Territorial Militia, who liberated the area this morning after a joint effort with elements of the Federal Gendarmerie, said the victims were "war prisoners" murdered by militants of the Novosad Liberation Army.
However, an army source deployed with Istokgrad forces was unable to confirm the discovery. Although the report could not be immediately verified, last week over 300 servicemen of the Federal Gendarmerie found themselves surrounded by separatist forces in the territory of the self-proclaimed Republic of Novosad. Since then, the Federal Gendarmerie HQ attempted to contact them over the radio without success and federal authorities believe the remains found in the mass grave are the result of the execution of the servicemen by militants of the Novosad Liberation Army. President Vlahovic, in an official communique, publicly denounced the Novosad Liberation army and compared them to "bloodthirsty barbarians". He also reassured that the perpetrators will be brought to justice and punished "for this horrendous crime".

In the past 10 years, Nova Srbja has become many things: a refugee crisis, a regional quagmire, a political nightmare, a terrorist haven, a warlords power play and the core of the ambitions of Novosad's self-proclaimed President, General Dragan Milutinovic. To the international community, however, it’s a civil war. All refer to the Srbjan conflict this way. These simplifications are inaccurate and dangerous. They absolve the international community of responsibility, and give General Dragan Milutinovic a veneer of legitimacy. Filip Flahovic, the legitimate Head of State of the Federal Republic of Nova Srbja, has asked many times the international community to assist his Federal Gendarmerie in the fight against the Novosad Liberation army, so far with no success. While many have expressed concern and support for the legitimate and democratic authorities of the Federal Republic, the underequipped, underfunded and undertrained Federal Gendarmerie has been struggling to make any significant progress, despite the recent support received by Istokgrad's territorial defense forces, a largely autonomous force formally loyal to President Vlahovic, but de-facto under the command of Istokgrad Autonomous Province civil and military authorities. Many in Nova Srbja are wondering if, and when, this conflict will ever end.

Federal Gendarmes in Banja Luka

BANJA LUKA, NOVA SRBJA - There's no let-up in the fighting as dawn breaks amid the heavy thud of machine guns firing on both sides. We see the men of the Federal Gendarmerie embrace RPG launchers. Then a whoosh and a thud, followed by an explosion. One of the Novosad Liberation Army machine guns has been silenced. There are several more over the next few hours - uncomfortably close. A Federal Gendarme smiles and points as a rocket-propelled grenade travels at speed towards another NLA-held building nearby. In the distance we can now see the flag of the self-proclaimed Republic of Novosad flying. And nearer, the buildings and the holes in the wall from where they're firing. There's another whoosh, thud and boom and then a plume of smoke from another RPG strike. We're told to stay inside because the Federal forces have heard an aircraft.

Five hours later, the battle is still raging over the same few streets. A separatist armoured bulldozer tries to clear a path through the wrecked cars and rubble to help the advance. But the driver is targeted by a Federal Gendarmerie rocket-propelled grenade. There's a frantic effort to free him from the cabin. His comrades eventually succeed but he's lost limbs and is bleeding profusely.

No-one can question the bravery of the Federal Gendarmerie, but you can see the losses and the expectations of victory weighing heavily on their shoulders. We ask to leave when Novosad's artillery begin to mortar the neighborhood. The impact sends brick and concrete flying through the air. The building we are taking shelter in shudders and then there's a cloud of debris. Someone shouts "Gas!" but thankfully it's not. We leave in the same van we first arrived in. The seats are now stained in blood from ferrying the wounded. By the end of the day, the Federal forces have repelled the assault of the Novosad Liberation Army. But this is unforgiving, urban warfare and for the Federal Gendarmerie there is still a mountain to climb.

On our way to the government compound, we see groups of civilians looting and scavenging anything they can find in dumpsters, trash cans, disabled vehicles and damaged buildings. A federal gendarme offers his days old bread to a child who appears to be five or six years old. The inhabitans of the city, once a thriving center of culture and science, appear as wandering shadows in the dark streets of Banja Lika. They live by the day and they spend most of night time in the desperate search for food and clean drinking water.

GUNMEN IN ARMY UNIFORMS MASSACRE 38 IN RURAL VILLAGE

A Federal Gendarme cries as he discovers the bodies

GUBIN, NOVA SRBJA - Gunmen in army uniforms swooped on a village north-west of Banja Luka this morning, stormed three houses and massacred 38 people from families linked to a loyalist militia, Federal officials said. Among the dead were 23 women and 15 men, mostly elderlies, an interior ministry official said. The brutal killings, which bear the markings of a Novosad Liberation Army attack, come as fighting intensifies in the city of Banja Luka.

Security officials have warned that a protracted period of attrition could give separatists an opportunity to further terrorize the civilian population in occupied areas. "Men wearing uniforms and driving vehicles similar to those used by the army stormed three houses in the village of Gubin, north-west of Banja Luka, and killed 32 people," said the interior ministry official, speaking on condition of anonymity. The official said the killers tied up their victims before carrying out the killings. A defence ministry official confirmed the details of the attack and the toll. According to the defence ministry official, the families were linked to a loyalist militia, known as the "Garda Panteri", Panther Guards which joined Federal forces to fight against the Novosad Liberation Army and its supporters, leading to a dramatic fall in violence across the country.

"This is not war, this is genocide." is the comment of President Filip Vlahovic, visibly upset and in shock as he commented on the news of the massacre.. He reiterated his commitment to crush the separatist uprising and capture Governor Dragan Milutinovic, self-proclaimed President of the Republic of Novosad, and bring him to justice. The massacre has sparked an unprecedented wave of outrage all over the country. A mass demonstration has seen 15.000 people march trought the streets of Istokgrad, in the eastern part of the country. In response to the massacre, several villages on the border between Federal and Separatist territories have formed their own local militia "To protect our families and our homes from the barbarians of the Novosad Liberation Army. This horrendous crime will not go unpunished.". The Federal Government has welcomed with skepticism the rise of local armed groups, fearing an escalation of such events in response to the actions of the Novosad Liberation Army.

BANJA LUKA, NOVA SRBJA - Separastist troops fired tank shells and artillery today at neighbourhoods in the city of Banja Luka as Federal Gendarmes tried to repel the assault and defend their strongholds in the country’s capital. The bombardment was part of a Novosad Liberation Army offensive to capture the urban settlement. Government officials said federal troops will continue to fight what they call terrorists until the siege is liften. A spokesperson of the Federal Gendarmerie told Nova Srbja Today there had been intense fighting in most neighbourhoods of Banja Luka since the early hours in the morning. “It’s been very brutal on the ground. It’s no man’s land basically,” he said in an interview, explaining that separatist troops were bombarding neighbourhoods in Banja Luka. "These are vast districts of the political and economic capital of Nova Srbja," he said. The separatists are estimated to be in control of up to 15% of Banja Luka, Nova Srbja's capital City. And the Federal Government claims it is holding its ground, even shooting down an attack plane this afternoon. The battle for Banja Luka is critical for both loyalist and separatist forces.

If the separatists were to capture the city, the Federal Republic would fall. Analysts said they don't think the Federal Gendarmerie will be victorious in Banja Luka. They said that given the scale of the Novosad’s military and the amount of weaponry it has, Federal forces will most likely deplete their resources in one month. “Chances are, we will see the city holding out for a period of time and gradually the separatist forces will probably prevail -- they’ve got all the heavy weaponry -- and you’ll see a tactical retreat by the Federal Gendarmerie to fight another day,” an analyst said in the interview from Istokgrad. “Now, this won’t be over. There will be a lot of damage, a lot of death, a lot of impact on the economy. This is only one battle in what is likely to be a long struggle." he added.

Captain Lazic, of the Federal Gendarmerie of Nova Srbja, said today's shelling was some of the heaviest seen yet"Our troops are still holding up well," he told the Nova Srbja Today."No separatist ground troops have been able to enter. They are shelling from outside." He said his troops were fighting back against the attackers. Attempts by Novosad Liberation Army to gain control of Banja Luka began a week ago and hundreds of people, mostly civilians, have been killed in the fighting, not including soldiers. An estimated two dozen people died during today’s fighting alone. There are concerns that President Vlahovic’s desperation to maintain control of the city will intensify the violence. “This is the concern: We will see a massacre in Banja Luka,” said an an analyst. “We think the Novosad Liberation Army is ready to kill as many people as necessary in order to enforce its demands. But there will be a day of accountability for what’s going on" he added.

The city of Istokgrad, capital of the Istokgrad Autonomous Province.

ISTOKGRAD, NOVA SRBJA - She is a teacher and he a painter - the Gavrilovic are the hidden face of the "working poor" in Nova Srbja, Europe's most impoverished country. "Our salaries amount to about 140 Dinars per month," Bozena Gavrilovic, 47, tells Nova Srbja Today in the family's one-bedroom flat in the city of Istokgrad that they share with their 22-year-old son. "When we pay the monthly instalment on a loan and our bills, we are left with 30 dinars for food. That's all for the three of us." According to an nation-wide survey, over 70 percent of Nova Srbjas's 2.4 million people live in "material deprivation", defined as being unable to afford things like adequate heating or meat every second day. Seven to eight percent of these are so-called "working poor" like the Gavrilovic, employed but struggling to make ends meet, with every unplanned expenditure potentially spelling disaster.

The family say they had to skip an instalment on an 3000-Dinars loan - taken out to buy their music student son a violin - in order to buy firewood last winter. "Going on vacation is out of the question. In 26 years we have been on holiday twice," Bozenas's husband Davor, 53, says. Going to the movies, the theatre or a cafe is "unthinkable". The grey-haired man, a painter with a degree from the National Academy of Arts in Banja Luka, also works as a night guard at the local community centre, where he also teaches a children's drawing course. He and Bozena often borrow coins from their son, who busks to make ends meet. "The grocers here frown when they see me coming with the jar. They are fed up with me already. I go to the big stores here in Istokgrad where they can't refuse the coins," Davor says.

National statistics show that three in five Nova Srbjans is "relatively poor" - living on 55 percent of national median income - and 6 in every 10 lives in absolute poverty. Another survey found that Nova Srbja was also Europe's unhappiest country. The long-term unemployed, widowed pensioners and multiple children families, are the hardest hit. But they are not the only ones. Some 120.000 people who receive the minimum monthly salary of 95 dinars also come close to the poverty line after paying insurance and tax.

Experts say that the situation is the legacy of the first 10 years long civil war, sparked after the end of communism in 1946 failing to implement reforms to make the economy more competitive and attract investment. "During the transition from communism, the country fell into a loophole of violence and separatist uprisings. People lost hope that there is a chance for things to get better and that we can exit this situation of constant privation and penury," said Davor. "It's not just the privation... One does not only need bread, or yoghurt or food. I last bought a pair of boots back in 1952!" he added.

National Committee for Justice and the Rejuvenation of Socialism
Office of the People's Commissariat for External Affairs

We grow ever more concerned with the fate of our Srb brothers in the Federal Republic of Nova Srbja. It is not out of malicious pleasure that we must come to the conclusion that under communist rule the situation was far better. Only the teachings of Marx and Rurik in combination with the prioritization of class conciousness seems to have been able to truly unify the Federal Republic. The logical conclusion then must be that the nation is in need of a restoration of the socialist principles that once ruled the lands. Like we always have in the past, the National Committee for Justice and the Rejuvenation of Socialism will continue its support for the Srbjan Communist Party in the hope that it will once again manage to rally an overwhelming majority of the nation behind their banner of equality and stability.

Nevertheless we will alternate our policy from that of the previous Tsjekovite-infested regime. Besides the Srbjan Communist Party we also offer our hand to the Srbjan Unity Party in recognition of their sincere efforts to unite the nation peacefully. While our comrades in the SCP will remain our key associates and collaborators in Novo Srbja, we wish to support the Srb people as a whole in their struggle against the criminal onslaught of the Novosad Liberation Army. We shall include in this letter a detailed inventory of Kadikistani weaponry that we are bringing onto the market due to budget cuts in the defence sector. The Srbjan government will receive a special discount on these weapons and their spare parts, exceeded only by the even greater discount that we offer the militia of the Srbjan Communist Party. The International Association of Marxist-Leninovist Parties is organizing fund-raisers in order to raise both awareness and finances to help deter this resurfacing civil war. Humanitarian aid is also offered, redirecting such efforts from Gouw Marken.

ARTILLERY BARRAGE HITS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL IN BANJA LUKA, 5 DEAD.

BANJA LUKA, NOVA SRBJA - An artillery shell has hit a children's hospital in Banja Luka, forcing medical staff to evacuate patients, including several newborn babies still in incubators. The moment of the attack today was captured by a Nova Srbja Today crew, who were reporting on survivors of previous bombing raids on loyalist-held parts of the city. The crew was filming a man and his two children, who were suffered breathing problems from an earlier attack, when the room suddenly went dark immediately after a loud explosion. Nurses and other medical staff were seen scrambling through the blackness, trying to rush the patients out of the badly damaged hospital as children cried out for help.

In another room, nurses grabbed babies from damaged incubators, with one staff member using a cloth to protect a visibly undernourished child before trying to console a weeping colleague, who was also carrying a newborn. The nurses later moved the babies to another room, putting them on the floor next to each other and covering them with blankets. At least one of the infants still had medical tubes attached. Staff told Nova Srbja Today that five out of twenty of the babies did not survive the attack.

Separatists' artillery shells targeted neighbourhoods with medical facilities, including the children's hospital and a nearby clinic that has one of the few remaining intensive care units in the east of the city, a spokesperson of the Ministry of Healthcare said. Many hospitals and clinics in the besieged area have moved their operations underground after two weeks of relentless bombardment. The Ministry of Healthcare said it recorded 26 attacks on health facilities since the beginning of the Siege of Banja Luka on the 8th of May, 1957. A common tactic over the ten years of a neverending civil war war that is estimated to have killed more than 250.000 people, 3500 only in the last two weeks, with the majority of the victims being civilians.

If it is really the case that the separatists are consciously targeting hospitals, we only know one word to describe them: Cowards. We offer medical supplies to the city of Banja Luka.

Regarding switching back to a socialist system, it can't be different than that that system was abandoned for a reason. We think that abandoning the previous system is not the reason why this civil war erupted. Please bear in mind that there are also countries in Europe which do not have a socialist system but where people still live in a highly free society.

BREAKING NEWS: FEDERAL GENDARMERIE FLEE POSTS IN PORTIONS OF BANJA LUKA

BANJA LUKA, NOVA SRBJA -
As Federal forces ran out, militants of the Novosad Liberation Army overran Nova Srbja's largest city this morning - a stunning collapse that heightened questions about President Filip Vlahovic's ability to hold onto not only Banja Luka, but his entire country.
Separatists seized Banja Luka's airport, radio stations, the parliament and other parts, if not all, of the Srbjan city. "I only ... saw armed people, but not Federal military," said a resident of Banja Luka of his drive through the city this morning. "There was no presence of any government forces on the streets, the majority of their posts destroyed and manned by Novosad Liberation Army soldiers." Other witnesses painted similar scenes, of buildings and boulevards manned not by Federal Gendarmes but rather by men they say are members of the separatist group the Novosad Liberation Army.

Banja Luka wasn't the only place in the country beset by violence this morning, including some focused closer to the city of Istokgrad. Still, what's happening the capital of the Federal Republic is the most serious, given its size, the bloodshed's scope and the brewing humanitarian situation tied to it. The numerous reports of police and soldiers running from their posts in Banja Luka raised the prospect that the Federal government has depleted the resources to win this and other fights. According to unconfirmed rumors, the occupation of the city of Banja Luka by Novosad Liberation Army troops was triggered by the collapse of the north-western frontline in the residential neighborhoods of the city.

In perhaps a sign of just how serious the threat is, President Filip Vlahovic, who is believed to be in the city, took to the airwaves to urge all men to volunteer to fight, promising to provide weapons and equipment. He also urged parliament to declare a state of emergency as part of an effort "to confront this ferocious attack that harms all Nova Srbjans. We will not allow for the remainder of the ... province and the city to fall," he said in a live speech broadcast on Nova Srbjan state radio. Already, hundreds in Banja Luka have been killed since the fighting began on the 8th of May. Tens of thousands more have fled in vehicles and on foot, some of them carrying only what they could in paper bags. This rush has contributed to bottlenecks at checkpoints as people tried to get to safety on the eastern hills of Banja Luka.

Within Banja Luka, militants of the Novosad Liberation Army managed to take control of security checkpoints, military bases and a prison, where they freed up to 1,000 prisoners, authorities said. They did so after apparently overrunning Federal Gendarmerie forces, whose bodies -- some of them mutilated -- littered the streets, a Nova Srbja Today journalist on the ground in Banja Luka reported. Some servicemen of the Federal Gendarmerie took off their uniforms, dropped their weapons and ran, according to the journalist. He was fleeing the city with his family, reported security forces had abandoned vehicles and a police station was set on fire. "We can't beat them. We can't. They are well-trained in street fighting, and we're not," one Federal Gendarme, whose identity was withheld, told Nova Srbja Today. "We need a whole army to drive them out of Banja Luka. We ran out of ammunitions, our injured are agonizing on the streets. We have no medicines, there is no food, there is no water, there is no electricity.. The frontline has collapsed, help us! Help us or it will be a genocide!" he added.

ISTOKGRAD PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC DECLARES INDEPENDENCE. IS THIS THE END OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC?

ISTOKGRAD, NOVA SRBJA - Leadership of the "People's Republic of Istokgrad" has declared independence of the autonomous province in an unexpected move. "Upon the fall of Banja Luka and the inability of President Vlahovic to confront the Novosad Liberation Army, and based on the sovereignty declaration of the People's Republic of Istokgrad, we, people of the People's Republic of Istokgrad, declare that from now on the People's Republic of Istokgrad is a sovereign state," President of the "People's Republic of Istokgrad" government Jakov Nenadovic said at a news conference today. According to Nenadovic, the supreme council formed by the "People's Republic of Istokgrad" government and security council will become the higher state body of the "People's Republic of Istokgrad."

"We lived most part of our history as part of Nova Srbja but this was possible only due to the fact that istokgrad itself was a territorial formation of the single Socialist state," Nenadovic said. After the collapse of the Socialist Federal Republic of Nova Srbja in 1946, "our people still hoped that Nova Srbja, Istokgrad and Novosad will restore their historical unity," Nenadovic said. "This hope crashed completely in in early May, when the Novosad Liberation Army, the armed branch of the Srbjan Democratic Union seized power in Novosad during the revolt, reigniting this horrendous war" he said. The People's Republic of Istokgrad "Will continue its cooperation with the Federal Republic of Nova Srbja and the Federal Gendarmerie, or what's left of it, but once the fascists of Novosad Liberation Army will be defeated, we will take different paths. However, we will be open to discussions with Federal Authorities to discuss the formation of a new multi-states entity in the future" he added.

Analysts in Nova Srbja suggest that this move, which has caught the country in one of its most dramatic occurrences (the fall of Banja Luka) de facto represents the collapse of the Federal Republic, which still nominally exists in the territories east Banja Luka controlled by Federal Forces. President Vlahovic, who is reportedly issuing orders to his ground forces from an undisclosed location in wartorn Banja Luka, has not yet released an official statement. According to rumors, from an anoynymous and unofficial source, the President suffered a nervous breakdown and has threatened to personally execute any serviceman of the Federal Gendarmerie caught in the act of surrender or retreat. Witnesses depict President Vlahovic, considered by many a national hero, as a broken man who is incapable of turning the odds of battle and the downward spiral his country, or what's left of it, is facing. Most of the members of the Federal Parliament of Nova Srbja are missing and parliamentary activity has ceased, leaving the country without a legislative body, henceforth transfering all legislative and executive powers to the last surviving federal institution of Nova Srbja, the Office of the President of the Federal Republic.

It is unlikely that Federal Forces will attempt to resist the declaration of independence of the Istokgrad People's Republic. Most troops have been moved to the Banja Luka frontline to counter, so far unsuccessfully, the advance of the Novosad Liberation Army. In any case, the political chaos that is ravaging the small slavic nation has prompted many people to wonder who is in charge and under which authority, or self-proclaimed government, they answer to. Defections from elements of the Federal Gendarmerie to the newly formed Istokgrad People's Army have also been reported by our journalists on the ground. What is left of the Federal Gendarmerie is desperately holding grounds in the last portions of Banja Luka under their control. A mass of 20-30.000 displaced civilians is also reportedly moving out of the capital city and towards the territory of the self-proclaimed Istokgrad People's Republic. Many claim that these people will seek asylum in the bordering Yiddish Free State to escape both the horrors of war and the return of socialist rule in Istokgrad.

President Nenadovic, head of state of the People's Republic of Istokgrad, has guaranteed that a return to the marxist-leninist system is "unthinkable". While analysts believe the new government will severely compromise the free market economy of Istokgrad, President Nenadovic reassured that all political and civil rights are therefor in place, and free and democratic elections will take place soon as possible. He exhorted the inhabitants of the new self-proclamed state to continue their daily activities.

"KOSMOVAC AUTONOMOUS PROVINCE" SECEDES FROM SELF-PROCLAIMED PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF ISTOKGRAD, SWEARS LOYALTY TO PRESIDENT VLAHOVIC.

KOSMOVAK, NOVA SRBJA - The "Srpska Garda Panteri" (Srbjan Panther Guards), a nationalist militia loyal to President Vlahovic, and several allied groups have voted to create an autonomous province in the north-west of Istokgrad, thus seceding from the self-proclaimed People's Republic of Istokgrad. Garda Panteri officials claimed autonomy for the Garda Panteri-controlled areas this morning after two days of meetings with delegates of different communities in the province. Representatives of the communities and other political groups loyal to the federal government met in the town of Kosmovak, north-west of Istokgrad, to discuss bringing the area under the umbrella of President Filip Vlahovic.

A spokesman for the Srpska Garda Panteri, one of the groups involved, told Nova Srbja Today that the move had been made after many attempts by the loyalists in Istokgrad to be heard. "Our requests have been rejected and silenced by the newly self-proclaimed People's Republic of Istokgrad. We are Srbjans, we are patriots, we are loyal to the flag of the Federal Republic and we will exterminate the traitors who seek to destroy our nation" he said. "We feel that the marxist world powers will use our beloved nation as a tool to push forward their agendas and impose a marxist regime on our children. This is not acceptable and we will fight to death, should they step foot on our sacred national soil. It is now our right to protect ourselves. We do not support dividing Nova Srbja. Nova Srbja is one and indivisible, death to the Novosad Liberation Army, death to the Srbjan Communist Party! Long live Nova Srbja! We reject the declaration of independence of the People's Republic of Istokgrad, and we will never be ruled by the communist degenerates who will sell our identity and our national sovereignty to foreign powers. Death to the traitors of the Srbjan People!" he added

The Garda Panteri, and other loyalist-nationalist groups are all part of the "Srbjan Unity", a coalition of nationalist parties (the major one being the Srbjan National Front) that was founded in Nova Srbja after the return of hostilities in the first week of may, to counter the advance of separatist forces. The government of the self-proclaimed People's Republic of Istokgrad has not released an official statement yet.

"Appeal to the International Community by Nova Srbja's civil society organizations".

The International Community has failed Nova Srbjans. In ten years of conflict, close to 300.000 people have been killed and one million have been forced to leave their homes. Most recently, the Novosad Liberation Army and their allies have carried out unlawful attacks on Banja Luka with scant regard for some 180,000 civilians trapped there. Armed loyalyst groups have also fired mortars and other projectiles into civilian neighbourhoods on the frontline, though according to the Nova Srbjan Organization for Human Rights, “indiscriminate artillery strikes across the country by both loyalist and separatist forces and their allies are responsible for the overwhelming majority of civilian casualties.” Efforts to stop these atrocities and hold those responsible to account have failed.

We had warned the international community: war in Nova Srbja means genocide. Hatred, is the only fundamental value our society has implemented in the past decade. Hatred and violence against the unarmed, against the weak, against the poor. Yet, there is no sign that the International Community deadlock will end anytime soon. The guardians of international peace and security have failed to protect us: doctors, professors, artists, humanitarian workers, children, elderlies, injured, women, all of us who refuse to give up our humanity and our genuine desire to live in peace. There is no food in Nova Srbja, there is no drinking water. Our people are starving, thousands of kids are orphans and the war leaves no resources to help those in need. The Nova Srbjan people are victims of a genocide of unthinkable proportions. The suffering that we have been inflicted by all sides in the conflict, is incommensurable. Children and women are not spared, by shelling, by snipers, by roaming bands of either separatist or loyalyst militias who answer to nobody but their own local self-proclaimed warlords. Chaos is the only law in Nova Srbja, and the victims are the Nova Srbjan people.

This is why we, a coalition of Nova Srbjan civil society organizations, urgently call upon the International Community to step in and request a joint peace keeping force to demand an end to all unlawful attacks in Banja Luka and elsewhere in Nova Srbja, and immediate and unhindered humanitarian access so that life-saving aid can reach all those in need. The International Community should also explore possible avenues to bring perpetrators of serious crimes on all sides to justice.

We call in particular upon the bordering nations of Bourgogne and the Yiddish Free State to take timely and decisive actions aimed at preventing or ending the commission of genocide, crimes against humanity or war crimes, to join this effort and actively promote meaningful action in Nova Srbja. Inaction should not be an option. The International Community should use all the tools at their disposal to stop the atrocities and protect the millions of civilians in Nova Srbja.

History will judge harshly those that fail to step up.

The Ministry of Cooperation

To The President of Novo Srbja Filip Vlahovic

We here in Sheridan are deeply saddened by the hardships experienced by the citizens of Novo Srbja. The Nation and it's People are willing to help, and are capable of sending the following; 100 Doctors, 150,000 Kilos of Mixed Grains (Corn, Rice, Oats), 100,000 Liters of Canned Water, and a contingent of 250 Soldiers to distribute the goods to the people of Novo Srbja and protect our doctors.

Please, just inform us where it would be safest to land our planes and we can be there in days.

Sincerely,
Alfred Worthington

FROM: Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nova Srbja
TO: Ministry of Cooperation, Sheridan.

The people of Nova Srbja appreciate the assistance provided by the Nation of Sheridan. The International Airport of Banja Luka is currently under control of the Novosad Liberation Army, but our engineer brigades are already at work to refurbish an old and unused airforce landing strip some 24 kilometers east of the besieged Capital City. In that location, we have no reports of separatist Anti Air batteries or personnel.

We do recommend, however, to avoid any confrontation with elements of the Novosad Liberation Army. Should your contingent come across a confrontation between the Federal Gendarmerie and separatist forces, it is best if they take another course and avoid any involvement. We also suggest to have your troops wear distinctive signs such as a light-blue helmet and large flags as a deterrent against attacks. We cannot, however, guarantee the safety of the convoys and the personnel. Nova Srbjan's humanitarian organizations will also provide workers who will inform you of the areas where aid is needed most.

Signed,
President Filip Vlahovic
Federal Republic of Nova Srbja

ECUMENICAL PATRIARCHATE OF PROPONTIS
PATRIARCHAL LOGOTHESION OF THE DROME

PUBLIC STATEMENT

27 May 1957
To whom it may concern,

The Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Propontis cannot help but state its clear and profound shock and indignation at the recent events in Nova Srbja, where thousands upon thousands of the Orthodox faithful are suffering, as are many more of their brothers and sisters who ascribe to different faiths. The Ecumenical Patriarchate cannot stay idle in such a time, echoing the clear sentiment which has overtaken all of Orthodox Christendom since the start of the crisis in Nova Srbja: help is warranted.

As such, His All-Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Eustathios I of Propontis has consulted the Permanent Patriarchal Synod and decided to dispatch 100,000 tons of grains, 100,000 tons of clean water in tanks, and 50,000 articles of clothing in various sizes for each sex. Initiatives to gather food, clothing and other supplies are also to take place in all Orthodox Churches on every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday, effective immediately and until further notice. The Ecumenical Patriarchate would appreciate the cooperation of the local authorities, especially the local leadership of the Orthodox Church, to transport and distribute these resources where they are needed the most.

Moreover, the local Churches could serve as schools for all children of Nova Srbja, regardless of their faith, in areas where local schools might have been damaged or destroyed by the conflict. After all, one ought to remember the example of the Good Samaritan, who helped a Jew not out of a common faith or ethnicity, but out of common humanity and the understanding of having the same Creator. We reiterate our call on all sides in the conflict to lay down their arms and settle any and all differences peacefully, for we see no reason why the various sides might be unable to coexist in peace.

With eternal faith in our Lord, God,

Aristοklēs Dionysios Aphentidēs

We already offered humanitary aid to Nova Srbja. We will make our proposal concrete now. We can send in a batallion medical troops of the Third Army to you country. This batallion consists of 487 doctors and nurses, and is specialized in traumatology. Furthermore, we can send in food packages, medical supplies and clothing.
It would be good to open an airforce base, but our Herakles planes can land on grasslands, when needed.

[ ] NOVA SRBJA DEVASTATION

BANJA LUKA, NOVA SRBJA -
As the international community gets involved in the Nova Srbjan civil war, an exclusive footage has emerged that exposes the utter devastation Nova Srbjans are fleeing from. Revealing in detail the consequences of the country's ten-year civil war, the air footage shows the piles of rubble ruined buildings that Banja Luka - previously Nova Srbja's largest city - has been reduced to. While the footage reflects the utter desolation in a city that was once home to more than 180.000 people, talks aimed at ending hostilities remain frustratingly unproductive. The video that shows the Nova Srbjan peace talks cannot come soon enough. Arguments over who should or should not attend the negotiations overshadowed the continuous damage wrought in a war that has seen over 1 million Nova Srbjans flee, one third the country's entire population.

The video was shot by a cameraman for Nova Srbja Today. While his footage has been described as propaganda by the Novosad Liberation Army designed to promote the international community’s military involvement in the country, the startling scale of devastation it exposes is beyond question. The footages shot by news crews for Nova Srbja Today, depict a bleak landscape we have witnessed for over a decade. Banja Luka may be an extreme case, but the reality is that vast stretches of Nova Srbja are now fit only for the wrecker’s ball.

FEDERAL TROOPS SEIZE CONTROL OF SEVERAL DISTRICTS IN BANJA LUKA

BANJA LUKA, NOVA SRBJA - Federal troops and loyalist militias have wrested back control of districts in the Novosad Liberation Army-held city of Banja Luka in a long-awaited operation fraught with fears that the separatist group could try to use tens of thousands of civilians as human shields. The assault came on Monday after a week of preparations focused on encircling the city, which fell to NLA on the 24th of May. Backed by precision artillery strikes and 900 men of the "Garda Panteri" nationalist-loyalist militia, Federal Gendarmerie commanders said at least 1700 troops had begun a multi-pronged assault aimed at reaching the city centre, and appeared to have taken three out of nine districts in the separatistredoubt east of Banja Luka. Nova Srbja Today reported that President Filip Vlahovic, commander in chief of the Federal forces, said: “Federal forces entered Banja Luka, backed by the Federal air force, supported by artillery and tanks.”. The assault was announced on the radio by President Vlahovic himself. In the background, the radio played the notes of the , a move to "inspire the troops", said President Vlahovic.

Explosions and gunfire could be heard in the eastern district as Federal forces advanced. The Federal Gendarmerie reported that an elite military unit seized the district’s police station at midday local time. National Liberation Army responded to the offensive by dispatching armoured vehicles in and around Banja Luka. Three separatist artillery attacks targeted the populous Eastern suburb and the North-Eastern neighbourhood, as well as the area of north of the capital, killing more than 20 people in the largely civilian districts. NLA claimed responsibility for the attacks in statements circulated in the city. The assault on Banja Luka comes amid a concerted campaign against the NLA in Nova Srbja that has stretched the militants across multiple fronts. It is likely to last at least a few days with stiff resistance from the militants, who have long been entrenched there. Banja Luka was the first major city to be seized by the Novosad Liberation Army.
