REPÚBLICA AURARIA
MINISTERO DE ASUNTOS EXTERIORES
14 March 2020
OFFICIAL STATEMENT
The narrative that the Aurarine Republic has been reluctant to normalize relations with the Grand Duchy is a baseless accusation that serves no benefit to either country. In attempts to integrate and coordinate the interests of the Gallian continent at large, Auraria has been adamant to include the Grand Duchy in those discussions as a strategic partner.

The success of the First Gallian Summit in securing a promise to grow the unity of the continent was achieved in no small part through the cooperation of our two countries. It then came as a surprise that the Frulian Delegation attended the Second Gallian Summit for no other purpose than to insult the democratic system with which the Republic was built and then promptly depart the Summit. These separate outreaches are the only attempts made to reconcile. At no point did Grau reach out to Solis to normalize relations.

It is clear, now, that the Grand Duchy had always intended to act unilaterally directly with the Kadikistani Union and therefore did not want any sort of resolution from the Gallian Summit to complicate those negotiations. The Grand Duchy has chosen to stand alone in at a time when the continent was coming together to speak in a unified voice. That decision was made entirely by the Grand Duchy and Auraria will not allow a false narrative that it is our “unwillingness” to cooperate that lead to these actions.

Our country will forever strive to include all the states of Gallia to bring about a better quality of life for all of its people. It is the hope of the Republic that the Grand Duchy, at some point, realizes how much stronger we will all be when we stand together as opposed to in opposition.

Office of the Confenonîr
Puplic Statment

This is the third official communication that my government receives from the Republic of Auraria, all three being complaints on my government actions and policies.

First you complained about my Government strong position against the BPR, and now you criticise us for trying to ease tensions.
The second you complained about my Government decision to use its own Navy to defend the national security, and now you criticise us for reaching a diplomatic agreement that will defend our security.
Now you complained about an agreement signed on behalf of Furlanìe alone, where we put aside some national interest in order to obtain a larger shield for Gallia.

I am, with all due respect, sick and tired of this imperialist behaviour.
Furlanìe is an independent nation free to exercise its democratic will as it sees fit, without the need to be controlled from the Solis Government, that so much adores to consider itself the most democratic and free of all.

Furlanìe hasn't refused to join an economic and diplomatic united Gallia, nor does this treaty stop us from doing so, what stopped us is your relentless desire to govern Grau, the day that a diplomatic school will finally open in Solis, and your Government will give attention to our nation way of dealing with the world, through private cooperation and subtle diplomatic overtures, maybe that day we will have a chance to cooperate successfully. until that moment, my nation will stop trying to satisfy you, and focus on its own survival in the dangerous future that you are so keen to move Gallia towards.

We condemn the unilateral imposition of Kadikistani control on Gallia through the ill thought policy machinations of the Grau Government. The Status Quo Treaty grants Ivar a stepping stone into southern Gallia, much as the Burgundians have provided the Leninovist ideologues a stepping stone in northern Gallia. Failure to recognise this is a sign of the need for more prudent advisers in the government of Prime Minister Bernars.
Yours faithfully,

Your Excellency heartens us. For the Continental Empire too has a fresh ODS knife in its back. We thought they'd recognise our independent reforms. Respect & appreciate them. Give us a truly fair shake. They did nothing of the sort.

While we still think of those three individual founding ODS nations as friendly, we no longer recognise the ODS as a legitimate international organisation. We're simply returning their 'favour'. Avalon too is seeking company elsewhere in its quest for international stability. We again offer your Grand Duchy a helping, soft power hand against the illegitimate BPR regime should you feel so obliged. God bless you. Viva Justosia.

To the attention of the Justosian Foreign Office

My nation is glad to have the support of the Justosian Government, although far away and with a significant difference in approach, our nations seem to move side by side towards a common future.
I've been instructed by the Friulian Government to offer Justosia a proposal for a mutual lowering of tariffs that will not only make up for the meagre consequences of the Etrurian economic self-isolation, but will certainly bring much more advantages to our economy, and yours.

The Polesian People's Republic hails the conciliatory, peace-loving approaching of the Grand Duchy of Furlanie, which stands in stark contrast to the war-mongering, bloodthirsty attitudes of many of its neighbours and former allies. Gallo-Germania and the wider region would be a lot safer if more countries adopted the position taken by the Furlanian government.

The small convoy led by the Ustinade has left the port of Savalonut.
The Ministry of Defence has explained to the local press that the routine training in Savalonut was completed, and the young conscripted sailors where to proceed on their training in international waters before heading back home.
According to the Ministry the corvettes working with the Ustinade are equipped with only bare bones armaments and should not alarm any neighbouring nation.

[/div]The press office of the Patriarchal Basilica of Aquilê, has informed us that Patriarch Agostino II, after a long period of suffering, has left this world in his peaceful sleep.

The Patriarch, born Ermingard Travers, has been a strong supporter of the progressive democratisation of the Friulian political system, close to the poor, and personal friend of the Grand Duke.

His career stared as priest of the village of Montelen, where he was already loved and respected by all, he was elected Bishop of Cividât by the former Patriarch Mariân IV, in this period he proved to be a great mediator and a respected mind, his position got him to know the Grand Duke personally, and, in spite of the different ideas, their relationship grew to a strong friendship.

As Patriarch his efforts to stay close to the people in need reshaped the Patriarchate, and reinvigorated its influence in Furlanìe.

The work towards a dialogue with the communist word was not directed, but certainly supported by the Patriarchate thanks to him. peace was the key word behind every action he took.

While we wait patiently to discover what the future holds for the Patriarchate of Aquilê, let us all join in prayer, and remember our great and caring guide, as he walks his final journey.

[/div]But while the market grows, the dispute between Furlanìe and the ODS nations finally reaches the real world, the national exports and production collapsed, with the worst affected being the flagships of the Friulian economy: Baviêr Tramais and G&T Cantîrs.

The two companies where the most interested in the preferential economic status gained by the Grand Duchy with the ODS market, the breaking of the agreement gravely damaged their plans and investments, causing a fall in production and revenues, and forcing especially GTc to cut a sensitive number of jobs to remain afloat.
Baviêr Tramais, although greatly affected aswell, managed to remain up on its feet, thanks to strategic loans given by privates and semi-public institutions, and a sturdy contingency plan focused in its previous investments in the Kadikistani SEZ.

Economy and Finance Minister Ervin Parcjelîr assured investors that the Government is working closely with the most prominent corporations of Furlanìe to ensure a rapid recovery, and predicts that by next week the situation will be positively different.

Jacum Sordèl resigns under government pressure
A long predicted resignation reached the office of the Confenonîr today: that of Foreign Minister Jacum Sordèl, key element in the creation of the Ivar-Grau Understanding.

The great international pressures mounted after the signing of the agreement obliged the Government to find a responsible, although a positive relation with Ivar was in the Confenonîr [div] style="border: 1px;; width: 300px; padding: 8px; float:right" |

wheelhouse from the start, the main actor that pulled the strings was indeed Siôr Sordèl, that alone, after a meeting behind closed doors with the Kadikistani Ambassador in Grau, managed to achieve a favourable agreement with the greatest superpower of the region.

In a final press conference Siôr Sordèl explained that his objective was "reinforcing peace and positive cooperation in Gallo-Germania" but failed in thinking the ODS was working in the same peaceful direction, setting himself free even further in an informal interview in his home, the now ex-minister said "the ODS is an expansive and dangerous element in Europe, I deplore having worked with them, that is my only regret"

The resignation of Sordèl follow the footsteps of its former mentor, Ex-Foreign Minister Edelvîs Pelârs, who resigned after the failing of his project in supporting the Aurarian Caudillo, a sad streak for the Friulian Foreign Office that hopefully will end with Sordèl

The Confenonîr prised Siôr Sordèl for his commitment and integrity, saluting his resignation with respect. The new Foreign Minister, Umbert de Roncalt, has been nominated few hours later.

New Patriarch of Aquileia elected
Sieghard III is the name that the Metropolitan Bishop of Grau, Ferdinant Marie de Lauzâ, has choosen as new Patriarch of Aquileia, the last Sieghard was the warrior that led the medieval liberation of Furlanìe from the Holy Frankish Empire. [div][/div]The name chosen is certainly a warning to all the ones that hoped for a liberal and moderate heir to Agostino II, in fact, the new Patriarch is a strong conservative, but also a respected and pragmatic individual, that has the stability of the Patriarchate and Furlanìe in his mind, he is the answer to what many hoped for, a reassuring but firm guide in the troubling waters of Gallo-Germania.

Ferdinant Marie de Lauzâ, second son of a renowned rich family of Grau, with a prominent past in the ancient Free City of Tergest, and a present as influential barons of the Grand Duchy; grew up in Tergest, and moved with his family to Grau, where he studied philosophy and developed a strong interest in religious studies.
He took the vows, supported by a Priest, and proceeded his religious studies in Aquilê and Cividât, he was sent as Deacon to the town of Linian, he then became the Priest of the town for 3 years, before being moved to Udin in which he remained as Priest until the death of the former Metropolitan Bishop of Grau, of which he was selected as successor by the Patriarch.

Transport Minister deeply questioned
Minister Donbon Vilaç has been questioned harshly by Defence Minister Michelìn Artûrs and Admiral Luciàn Malborghet after news coming from ex-Lars hinted at the possibility of an underwater tunnel that could pass through the straight of Saint John.

According to Cortesan Malborghet, such a structure would undermine the national security of Furlanìe, and, although Minister Vilaç denied knowing anything about the project, Minister Artûrs required a cabinet meeting to assess the truthfulness of his words.

"if we were to discover that Siôr Vilaç indeed had a conversation with his Larsian counterpart, this would be deeply concerning. the Grau-Lars axis broke during the Grau Understanding crisis, there is no need for cooperation nor is safe at this point in time" said Artûrs

Siôr Vilaç, reached by one of our reporters replied to the accusations: "the personal tensions arose between me and Siôr Artûrs should not interfere with our work in the interest of Furlanìe, accusing me of being some sort of inside actor of Larsian interests is insulting, and gravely damages the positive team work of this government and the international image of the grand Duchy"

Cortesan Durant de Salustri reviews the fleet

The Heir to the Grand Ducal throne, in a rare public appearance, has left his villa on the island of Savalonut to review the recently upgraded Friulian flotilla stationed in the local naval base.

A
ccompanied by a swarm of reporters and curious tourists, Cortesan Durant de Salustri met with Admiral Luciàn Malborghet and was accompanied in a visit on the guided-missile cruiser "Grau" of which he said "I've been very much impressed by the evolution that this ship has gone through".

In a speech in front of the base headquarters he expressed the nation's gratitude to the Friulian Armade dal Mâr "the Navy is an essential element to the unity and safety of the Friulian people, serving in the often troubled waters of the Marlunc, defending our shores, our trade, transports, and our national integrity is a hard job.

from what I saw today, every franc we spend on the Navy is well invested, these highly competent individuals are our pride and joy"; and they better be, as the Navy is the most expensive asset of Furlanìe.

The event rises concerns over the health of the Grand Duke, that has been absent from the public scene for a long time. this move from the Heir to gain the Navy's sympathy has been considered by some to be a first step to probe the armed forces support for the future passage of power.

Long-time tensions erupt in the Papavar party
You must be registered for see images
The
Papavar party, with a very slight margin, has voted out the historic 80 years old party leader Siôr Auristiç Morèt, founder of the modern reincarnation of the Papavar, longest serving left-wing Confenonîr in the history of the Grand Duchy, and paladin of the democratisation process; as well as thorn in the side of the Grand Duke for decades.

The vote was started by Siôr Jordan Savatier, and passed thanks to the change of sides of Siôr Flavi Maneis, after years of loyal but pragmatic support to the ex-leader.

The Rôs have now fallen into an internal power struggle for the new leadership, with Siôr Morèt's resignation from the party expected to happen any time soon, the liberal Juste Prudèlis, although lacking the wide consensus of Morèt both in parliament and in the nation, is rallying around a flag of fairness and goodwill the liberal and moderate members of the party, hoping to halt or slow Savatier's road to leadership.
"Savatier is a schemer, he can't be trusted to run this party, he represents exactly what we have fought for years: the inherent corrupt and shadowy right-wing led political system of Furlanìe" commented Siore Prudelis.

And while the hardline supporters of Moret, jokingly called "benandans", pressure the old leader to remain and fight back, Savatier has already gathered a large support thanks to his alliance with Maneis, promising not only the support to a reconciliation with the hard leftist world inside the Grand Duchy, with mentions to a collaboration with the Marxist-Leninovist PaLCoF, and with the lesser known Front Socialist Furlan (Friulian Socialist Front), but also a strengthening of relations with the international communist movements, and, in particular, real peace with the BPR.
"recognition of minorities, better working conditions, a real and working national health service, higher salaries, a real democratic process, there is so much to do and so many years wasted under the goody-goody Morèt leadership.
I, and those who will follow, will change the Papavar party into something worth existing in the XXI century"

It isn't just the imposing of sanctions on the most prominent Friulian companies by the ODS, nor, although it does weight heavily, the consequent threat of heavy retaliation from the Friulian Government, but the fall of investments from the once close nations of the Reman sea and Natal that has made the market fall for as much as -1.33%, a negative record for the GIMB index.

The public message sent by the Friulian Foreign Ministry is clear in its words, at least to the Friulian economists and businessmen: the end of the strategic unity of Gallo-Germania, the only thread still keeping Grau from totally breaking out of the block, a concept so abstract as it is crucial to the future of the Grand Duchy.

With not a single point of contact remaining on the political spectrum, it was clear that the military strategic cooperation was about to fall aswell, and some businesses did foresee this coming and started looking elsewhere for their production chains and markets, even the large GA corporation took its chance and invested in an historic purchase in the SEZs, now not shying behind the global mineral giants of Europe, but most couldn't believe the thought of this happening, and refused to see the evidence.

After the last plead for reason by the Friulian Government was ignored, and the angry and insulting response from the Johnstonian Foreign Office reached the news, the market was already set to fall hard as soon as it reopened today, and then today's abrupt slowdown at the frontiers happened, with the heavy Monday traffic being obstructed by the Border Guard, and the more efficient but still hampering inquisitional behaviour of the Coast Guard; this disrupted production all around the Grand Duchy virtually burning an unimaginable quantity of money.

Some timid voices against this breakaway have been heard in the political world, but also from prominent figures in the Friulian industry such as FE managing director Berengjari Bergener and ViB director Sanson Burçârt, voices that failed to gather any consensus in the public, grown more and more intoxicated and hurt in their nationalist pride from the rubber wall of ODS, and no Vuaite Nazionâl politician joined the choir, with the party leader Regîs Dagârm responding to reporters "removing the patch can hurt, but we won't heal otherwise, one swift rip is what we need".

Economists expect some dire times for the national economy, it will take time for the nation to adapt to the current situation, and will take further time for the key production lines of the country to be reorganised and redirected from more profitable sources. But some might not make it to the end, even large corporations such as FE, that has been struggling with internal battles and the looming threat of bankruptcy.

כ As social inequality and tensions rise steeply under the sudden economic crisis, with imported goods prices, especially medicines, rising due to uncertainty and the growing barriers and tariffs, the Government is divided on the actions needed in the next budget plan. with the Confenonîr hoping to reduce the budget deficit with cuts to education and research, and a revision of the military and home office spending, while others in the Vuaite prefer to embrace the situation and steam right on until the end of the crisis. the debate thus reaches the Cunvigne Nazionâl, where the Papavar party, fully immersed in its internal struggles, will be crucial to the final decisions.

The rumours on the health of His Majesty the Grand Duke have slowly spread across the country, and the press office of Cjalemâr Palace have finally opened up to give answers over the sudden disappearance of the monarch.

It is now official that the Grand Duke is suffering from a grave illness, although what exactly hasn't been made known, and the worsening of his conditions made necessary informing the public and officially recognising the Heir, Siôr Cortesàn Durant de Salustri, as regent of Furlanìe.

The news has shocked the country, a shock that reached the Cunvigne Nazionâl, where members of the Vuaite party accused the "Duo" Dagârm-Bernars of hiding the truth in their favour, profiting from the absence of the monarch.
Together with the growing public concern and pressures from the most prominent industrial families of the country over the growing fears of an incoming recession, this reopened the hidden but still very present divide inside the party, destroying the fragile peace reached in the first half of February between the Duo and the most monarchic wing of the party.

With the governing Vuaite Nazionâl divided and unable to work, and an opposition Papavar party equally divided and likely to split in two, the Cunvigne Nazionâl has been completely frozen, now the weight of power goes on Cortesàn Durant de Salustri, which has the heavy responsibility of handling the critical situation inside the Parliament in a continuously evolving and dangerous international stage, hoping for a fast recovery of His Majesty Grand Duke Fiorbèrt de Salustri, the actions and decisions of Crt. Durant as regent will be a useful preview of his rightful future role as leader of the Grand Duchy.
