The Federation of Natal wishes to congratulate her excellency, Ms Alfia Vepunia for her managing to bring her term to an and and sailing through a quite treacherous period with it, without managing to lose too much. We are still saddened by how the events took a turn in regards to the participation of the Grand Duchy of Furlanie, but there is nothing to do now with it. To continue on the legacy of Ms Vepunia, the Federation of Natal pushes forward the name of Miss Demetria Unathi Vavi, ex-Chief Minister of Natal, ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs, ex-Ambassador to Ivar and now the Federation's ambassador to the ODS. We hope that her diplomatic experience will make the ODS become a beacon of prosperity, democracy and peace.

Esteemed Representatives,

It is sad to contact you all in such a problematic time, but observing the recent crisis hitting the Union State of Eiffelland-Retalia, namely the hijacking of the ferry linking the Lohme to Bremen and taking hostage tens of passengers. I know that it is a highly tense moment and that the Eiffellander authorities are mobilising to push through the crisis. While the previous history of the fight against the Red Liberation Army has made the aforementioned authorities to create back in the 1970s and 1980s the Regiment Spezialkräfte especially for this, I wish to propose that now, that we are all united into the larger family of ODS nations, that we show solidarity not just in words but in actions too. Hence, I propose the creation of a joint ODS task force that would bring together intelligence and anti-terrorist specialists from the Natalian DER and the Eiffellander, Etrurian and Islander (Johnstonian) secret services, to work together and aid the authorities of Eiffelland.

Secondly, I propose the creation of a Joint ODS battlegoup, which will be regiment sized, light infantry, organised as a special forces division that can come to the aid of the national armed and police forces in case of such emergencies. The group will be organised along the lines of fast deployment commandos trained in anti-terror and anti-guerrilla operations.

The government of Etruria is close to the families involved in the hijacking of the ferries. We are willing to offer access to our information network, as required by the agreements. Furthermore, we support the proposals of honorable Demetria Unathi Vavi.

We hope that local authorities will act faster to restore order on the ferry, allowing citizens to return home safely.

While we would offer our forces in Germania to assist in carrying out an operation to retake the ferry from these terrorists, we unfortunately do not believe the skill set they have would be of great value in any potential operation being as I have been informed they are airborne. However our intelligence services will begin working on their own and in coordination with counterparts within this organization to gather information on potential further actors and trace their contacts and material sources.

We thank you all for the support given to us during this hi-jacking. All the help will be welcome. The USD will cooperate with the DER and the Etrurian and Johnstonian secret services so that the Vierte Rote Befreiungsarmee can be dismantled.

We also consider it a good idea to form a joint ODS battlegroup as described by our colleague from Natal for this kind of situations.

At this moment, the Regiment Spezialkräfte is preparing to liberate the ship. This is something we already have the manpower for, but it is a quite complex operation, even when taking into account that a hi-jacking of a sea vessel is exercised from time to time. The Sturmvogel is a large ferry ship. We are talking about 500 hostages, to be precise. However, we are able to handle this.

We are also in contact with the hi-jackers. They gave a longer deadline to meet their demands.

As a result of the failure of the Gallian Summit and the centrifugal positions the Gallian nations have taken in regards to the ideal of a continental union, the Federation of Natal understands that some of those nations have political aspirations and democratic traditions that can be perfectly juxtaposed on the ideals and tenets upon which the Organisation of Democratic States was build on. We thus commend the ODS for first signing a non-aggression pact with the Dual Monarchy of Tyskonia and the Petits-Pays, thus showing our own ideals that above all else, peace is the most important part of the foundation upon which prosperity and democracy are built. ​

But we must never forget that the ideals of liberal democracy have been born out of the sweat and blood of the Aurarians, in the first decades of the 19th century, and by the signing of the Declaration of Human Rights and it is upon those ideals that today, we can enjoy the existence of our organisation, bringing together free, independent and democratic states. For all that, we can see that in the past five years, after the fall of the Caudillo Regime, the Aurarian Republic has made great strides to return to its traditional political system, that of a liberal democratic republic and is a beacon of Gallian Democracy which shows the same love for the ideals of freedom, liberalism, democracy and human rights as any member of the Organisation of Democratic States.​

We understand that until now, there have been some issues which have made both the ODS and them as incompatible with the idea of full membership, but the Federation of Natal believes that in this new chapter of reorganising the external policy of Auraria, the Gallian Republic will be open to become a member of our organisation. ​

​

Thus, the Federation of Natal, would wish to give our support and start a discussion on the topic of Aurarian membership into the ODS, and if the other members agree, we hope that we will manage to invite the Republic into our organisation. ​

The Federal Kingdom of Etruria in no way opposes the proposal of Ambassador Demetria Unathi Vavi. We hope the time is ripe for both sides. We do not hide our joy of being able to see the Republic of Auraria join our organization.
