Apart from the Rheinian car and defence industry, as well as the Rheinian healthcare branch, which present themselves separately, the Rheinian industry is also active in several other branches. The most important ones are the electronic (Rathenau Gruppe), lens technique, photography and machine construction branches.

Electronics: Rathenau Gruppe

The Rathenau Gruppe consists of diverse electronic companies. Herewith a list.

NAE
This is our high-quality brand for car radios, hifi-installations, televisions, complete audio- and light equipment for concert and conference halls as well as theaters, recording equipment for studios, broadcasting equipment (both television and radio) and music instruments. The sound is tremendous with NAE, and you will enjoy it life-long.

Schwarzpunkt
Schwarzpunkt produces car radios, hifi-installations and radios for a reasonable price.

TEG
Ever-lasting and easy to use house-hold equipment? That's possible with TEG. This division produces washing machines, wash dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, hoovers, electric and gas cooking herds with and without oven, electric and gas ovens, microwaves, coffee makers, bread toasters, hair dryers, electric shavers, electric tooth brushes (in cooperation with Winkelsdorf for the brushes), small electric construction tools like small drills, and so on.

This division manufactures computers (desktops and laptops), computer screens, computer accessories (e.g. keyboards, mouses, headphones, webcams, soundsets etc.), printers, scanners, landline telephones, mobile telephones, smartphones, telegraph and telex equipment and radio-equipment for use by the police, fire department and ambulances.
A well-known brand line is the Nichsdorf Lumin. These smartphones have very fast processors and the best camera technique possible in smartphones (from Karl Seiff GmbH. (see later)). The Lumin is also a very strong smartphone, resistant to falls onto concrete or stone from up to 5 meters. It is also made in an extra strong version for the use at construction sites as well as other sites with construction-sites-comparable circumstances.
Another well-known brand line is the Nichsdorf Crescend. This is our series of tablets. Also this product is equipped with very fast processors and excellent camera technique (like the Lumin). Another feature it shares with the Lumin is its strength: Also the Crescend can fall onto concrete or stone from up to 5 meters. And finally, also the Crescend is available in an extra strong version for the use at construction sites.
The Optimian is Nichsdorf’s laptop series. The Optimian Y has a special feature: Its screen can be detached from the keyboard, and then it functions like a tablet. Also attached to the keyboard, the screen is a fully functioning touch screen.
The C-Play is Nichsdorf’s game console.
The Lumin, Crescend, Optimian and C-play devices can be used with all kinds of steering software available on the market.

Nichsdorf Silicium
This company is a subsidiary of Nichsdorf; it produces all kinds of chips, a.o. for in smartphones, tablets and computers, but also for in large computer systems, and for use in cars, trucks and trains (for which extra robust chips with an extremely low failure chance are needed).

Rathenau Musikgesellschaft (RMG)
The recording of classic music and jazz requires much experience, much love for music and much know-how. The Rathenau Musikgesellschaft (RMG) contracts the best orchestras in Europe for its recordings in the RMG studios or concert halls. But don't think other music styles require less care. Also the recordings of those styles will be carried out with care.
RMG - The label for the best recordings you can get.

Rathenau Militärausrüstung
This division produces a.o. radio systems for use by armed forces. The systems in question have been designed for working under the most extreme circumstances. They have been designed in such a way that they can work a long time without recharging, and the batteries can be recharged easily even in the field.

It is also possible to buy individual solar panels from Rathenau Kraftwerke.

Lens techniques and photography

Rheinbund has a long-standing tradition in lens techniques, photography and filmograhpy. Two companies are active in this branche: Agfas A.G. and Karl Seiff GmbH.

Agfas A.G.
The Rheinian company Agfas was one of the first to introduce colour photography in the 1930s; nowadays it produces photofilm and moviefilm materials, easy-to-use photocameras, hand-held moviecameras, advanced moviecameras for the motion picture industry and movieprojectors for both at home and at the cinema. Furthermore, this company also produces printing presses and offset equipment for printing works.

Karl Seiff GmbH.
Karl Seiff was a pioneer in lens technology; his company Karl Seiff GmbH was one of the first to introduce the reflexcamera under the brand name Seiff Ikon, but is also known for its state-of-the-art microscopes, binoculars, spectacle glasses, periscopes for submarines and telescopes (both the small types for amateur starwatchers and the large ones in astronomical observatories).

Software

DVA A.G.
The abbreviation DVA stands for Datenverarbeitung und Analyse (Data processing and analysis). It is a package with two main modules. The first main module is the database module; it is designed for storing data. The other main module is the analysis module; it is meant for analysing and processing data. The difference between both modules is the way numbers are stored: The database module stores numbers in nibbles (groups of four bits) in order to store them exactly. The analysis module, which is the older module, stores numbers in the floating-point arithmetic standard to facilitate fast data processing.
DVA developed many business intelligence and data mining tools, but it is also possible that other users develop their tools with this software. The analysis module provides a wide variety of statistical analysis functions, from a simple frequency analysis to a complex multivariate linear regression model or a survival analysis. Graphs can be produced as plain text or in picture format like JPEG, PNG or GIF. Vector based graph formats are also available. Tables can be produced as plain text files, HTML format, RTF format or PDF format. It is also possible to export data to other formats, or to import data from other formats. Analyses can be set up through a graphical interface, but also by programming.
DVA is currently the leading database and analysis software for the Rheinian universities, the Rheinian biomedical companies, the Rheinian banks and the Rheinian industries.

HCP

The abbreviation HCP stands for Heugen Computer Programme. It is a deliverer of many kinds of business software (word processor, email client, spreadsheet, presentation program, flow-chart program etc.), as well as the computer steering program HCP-OS and the steering program for mobile devices Astero.

Banking

Rheinbund’s largest bank is the Fuger Bank. This is one of the oldest banks in the world. Its history goes back to the 15th century. This bank has a large position in international money traffic, but is also important in corporate finance, and has a large role in consumer banking.

A comparable position has the smaller Fehrbelliner Bank: It is smaller in size, and has a role in corporate finance and consumer banking, as well as in money transfer.

The Hoffmann-Roderburg-Bank focuses on services for wealthy clients. It also has a facility to store items in bank safes.

Typical corporate finance banks are the Lübecker Handelsbank, the Bremer Handelsbank and the Banque Commerciale de Montpassart.

The Allgemeine Mittelstandsbank is a corporate finance bank for small business owners. The special trait of this bank is that it is a cooperative bank, owned by a large group of small business owners in and around Weissenfels. It is active nation-wide in Rheinbund and Al-Magrab.

Typical retail banks are the Wechter Bank, the Villacher Goldbank, the Starnberger Vereinsbank and the Weimarer Vereinsbank. They are all active nation-wide in Rheinbund. The Weimarer Vereinsbank and the Starnberger Vereinsbank are cooperative banks as well.

Agricultural trade

There is one company that is specialised in agricultural trade. That is the Lübecker Getreidegesellschaft mbH.

The Pegasus Conglomerate

***CONFIDENTIAL***

The Pegasus Conglomerate would like to propose a cooperation between itself and Rathenau Gruppe with regard to the latter's chip production. Our group is prepared to help construct specialised harbour facilities and related infrastructure to aid in the export of the chips from the Rheinbund throughout Europe, with generous funding for those ends being provided by the Pelasgian Government (up to 4.3 billion). We are also willing to collaborate with the Rheinbund regarding the construction of facilities to aid in the chips' production in Pelasgia, subject to the sole copyright of Rathenau Gruppe but with a view to expanding the availability and lowering the cost of computer chips in the Pelasgian market.

Our Conglomerate is prepared to negotiate on all points regarding a potential cooperation between ourselves and Rathenau Gruppe.

Dear Mr. Ploumides,

We are definitely interested in building a chips factory in Pelasgia, and to cooperate with the Pegasus Conglomerate and the Pelasgian government for that. Of course chips are a strategic good; therefore, we will make agreements to ensure that the export of chips from the Pelasgian factories will abide by both Pelasgian and Rheinian law.

Regarding investments in the seaports of the Rheinbund, That is not something we can decide about. We have informed the Ministry of Economic Affairs about your proposal. This ministry will contact you.

Looking forward to a fruitful cooperation between our companies,

Walther Rathenau, CEO Rathenau Gruppe

Betreff / Subject: Investments in Rheinian seaports.

Dear Mr. Ploumides,

First of all, I want to thank you for your offer to invest in Rheinian seaports.

I have to mention though that we recently already performed large maintenance and renewal works in the seaports of Scharmbeck. Work is going on in the seaports of Engelsheim and Reinhardshafen, but the work there has already been assigned. Apologies, for this, but I can't help you further.

Yours sincerely,

Niklas Baumgarten, Minister of Economic Affairs

OOC: I already RPed in the World Belt Initiative thread that the seaports of Engelsheim and Reinhardshafen would undergo some overhaul work, but that is more than half a year ago. Meanwhile, I think we can presume that that work is already going on. Sorry @Pelasgia.
