Comrade, Salutations!

May I be the first amongst the Rzeczpospolita Wendziema to render my congratulations to your people, your movement, and you personally for your efforts in bringing down the militaristic tyrants of the National Revolutionary State. I also wish to express my complete confidence in your efforts to bring the previously mentioned tyrants to justice for their crimes against the people of Saaremaa, for true justice by the people knows not rank or standing.

Through your actions as well as your speeches, you give myself and the Wendowie in the Rzeczpospolita hope that they do not stand alone in their march towards peace, prosperity and partnership, not just for themselves and their neighbors but for all peoples in Europe. Although your professed ideals do not match the, for lack of a better term, radical nature of ours, your sincerity rings beyond ideological boundaries and, if I may be so blunt, those who aspire for the greatest ideals of leftism cannot afford to leave behind the virtues of practicality in this world we live in.

I write this letter to you not just to congratulate your achievements, but also to call for greater correspondence between ourselves and, indeed, between our peoples. For there is much, I believe that can be learned from each other in our separate marches towards true freedom, equality and justice, marches that, although separated in terms of physical geography, need not be so separate in a metaphysical sense. I will also be so bold to state that, with increased closeness we can more easily overcome the struggles that plague us and our peoples, both struggles within and without.

I look forward to your reply.

My dear friend and comrade,

Not only do I wish to thank you for your kind words, but I also want to congratulate you for the success of the Wendziemam revolution. This year has been one of huge changes in both our nations. While you have finally liberated the people from Dansk oppression and now you are working to create a bright future for them, we had an involution of our politics in February '53, when the two branches of the Saar family, the royal house of the Kingdom of Saaremaa started fighting and amid terrorist attacks from the backers of one prince or another, the generals of the army that was supposed to protect us, the people, declared in Raasiku that they will do anything to destroy the state. We had a coup d'etat, we had a fascist dictatorship and now, finally we are free.

The generals have used the work of a Saare sociologist from the late 19th century, called Koit Eskola to legitimize their dictatorship. The most intriguing fact is that Eskola wrote mostly about methods of mass education in the 1860s, but he also wrote a book that he called "Reacting to anarchy" that was considered until now even a satire of the aristocracy's reaction to the ideas of anarchism. The book calls for the end of all political parties and even ideological mentalities, but instead of complete liberation, Eskola said that the state should be more centralized than ever, with the idea of hierarchy being one of the most important elements in the state. So, in the end, the book is satirizing the ideas of the aristocracy from the 1860s and 70s in Saaremaa in which they tried to create a political movement that was trying to present itself as very modern (trying to be more attractive than anarchism) but still, return the state to absolutism. In the end, the book presents the absurdity of the whole situation. But the whole event is tragic. Imagine how bad we have become if a clique starts talking about a sacred ideology that they found in a satirical book and they launched a coup d'etat for it. But this time, its not absolutism supported by the army, but the absolutism of the army.

Regarding what you said about how radical we are, in the end, both you and us want to reach the same society. You are doing a permanent revolution through the creation of the Commonwealth, while we are taking the reformist approach of social democracy. There were differences in the circumstances in which both our countries were liberated. In the days in which we were in the middle of the revolution, there were many voices that wanted to take your for a model, but it was not feasible. We needed to be friends with our neighbors, not alienate them even more, because of the mismanagement of the dictators, the Saare agriculture is at a high time low and when the winter will be coming, if we wouldn't have founded close trade partners, we would have been stricken by famine. We need the friendship and support of the TAAO for the development of the Democratic Republic. It is a must, we cannot afford to alienate them.

In the end, I hope that I can hear more from you and I wish to congratulate you again for your successes.

Signed,
Riina Lepp
Chancellor of the Democratic Republic of Saaremaa

Comrade, Salutations!

Your congratulations warm my heart, for I know of the sincerity behind such words, a sincerity that is lacking, or at least subdued, in the words and expressions of representatives from our so-called "chief supporters". Nations such as the Kingdom of Eiffelland, the Republic of Asylan, and the High Kingdom of Ivernia will proclaim their support of me and the ideals of the Rzeczpospolita, but I know that they remain unhappy with me and Wendziema's ideals. They want a capitalist democratic republic, not a revolutionary state such as the one my comrades aim to create, and they have indicated such misgivings to me numerous times, despite my insistence that their aims are not the will of the Wendowie.

For we desire a Council Democracy, a compromise that took many weeks of negotiations between communist and post-delegationist political representatives and philosophers while I and the armies of the Rzeczpospolita fought the Dansk and eventually defeated them. It is a compromise that allows the common man and woman, regardless of their station in life, to participate in the government, and to make certain that their voices shall be heard. Starting with the cities and surrounding towns and villages, we hope elected and recallable representatives of these councils shall elect their own representatives for their districts, then from their to the constituent republics, and finally, the republic representatives to be elected and sent to the Rzeczpospolita Kongres itself, where legislation crafted for all the Wendowie and international affairs is crafted and voted upon. The specifics would take up far too much of this letter to put down here, but it is the legislature where most of the power of the Rzeczpospolita is meant to stem from. For it is the legislature that is the true voice of the people.

As for the executive... well, I suppose that is meant for a letter on a future date, as well as the judicial branch. It is difficult here in the Rzeczpospolita, much of the difficulty coming from the continued resistance of the Danish Nationalists and Ostrian Catholics, but also from reconciling the disagreements between communists and post-delegationists as well as moderating them... for they have many, many good ideas that would truly bring peace, prosperity and partnership to the Wendowie and, were it allowed, all peoples, but they are sometimes too idealistic for their own good, and thus, political stalemate ensues. It is, in part, why we remain silent on the international stage. It is also because we, though we will never admit it publicly, fear the world, and fear what it will do should we emerge from our shell of isolation. That is why we reach out privately to friends for help, be they fair-weather capitalists or monarchists, or true friends such as you and the nation you represent.

I wish you the best of luck in your efforts to improve your relations with the TAAO, as we in the Rzeczpospolita do the same, and the best of luck in both of our efforts, through our own methods, to bring peace, prosperity, and partnership to the peoples of Europe.
