_________THE FESTIVAL
First introduced by the then Mayor Bernà Ciberûs in 1984 in an effort to promote the town, it slowly reached nation-wide fame and, and in the early 2000s, started to attract foreign writers that found it an easy way to advertise their stories in the Friulian market.
In June 2016 Mayor Matèi Çivalîr decided to grant the use of the ground floor and the plaza of the town hall to the event organizers, offering more room for even more authors to join; the same year the "Ģalùt" award was created to reward the best book of Gallia, the golden statue of a capercaillie, chosen as symbol of Gallia by the town, was first given to the Friulian author Jusèp Placegnòve.
This year the festival will also give a monetary prize to the best book of Europe in an attempt to expand further the importance of the event.

Book title: Il drâc!
Author: Benjamìn Talâr
Gallia or beyond?: Gallia
Summary: in the early morning of the first of August AD 746, the village of Çerneglòns was awaken by a loud thud coming from the then called Spiçonàlt lake.
Before the residents could get out of their houses a big wave from the lake flooded the dirt streets of the village, the lord of a small nearby castle tried to calm the scared people, but many wanted to flee, someone shouted a dragon fell in the lake and was sleeping in the deep, waiting to come back; only the arrival of a garrison of the Patriarchate from Cividât calmed them down.
The Bishop of Cividât, Mons. Claude "il Serèn" Charpèn, arrives few weeks later with the order to investigate and finally reassure the peoples living by Spiçonàlt, so they could focus back on the farmlands.
The book tells the story behind the now called "Dragòn" lake, the first time such a recollection of events has been completed, but includes also many of the legends behind the event, and masterfully paints the everyday life of the Friulians of the time, from the benefits and constrains of the clergy, to the difficult but free existence of the common folk.
