Four days ago, it marked Munhwa-Busan Corporation's 60th anniversary. Originally founded by the exalted Lee Yun Wook as a small construction company in Busan, in its long rich legacy it has been the vanguard of economic growth and prosperity on the impoverished archipelago. The jobs and opportunities it provided gained popular support from both the populace and local government. Eventually they received official government backing and was the favoured company to contract for new projects, cementing a monopoly-like status in Munhwa. With continued support, Yun Wook would expand and diversify the company's focus into other fields.

When Yun Wook passed away, his son Tae-Hyun inherited his father's business. While Yun Wook was a generous, patriotic man who wanted to strengthen the nation through cooperation with the government, Tae-Hyun was greedy and did not share the same love for the country. He only looked at increasing profits, like any practical business man would do. There was nothing inherently wrong about expanding revenue; except he also wanted absolute control over the market and ultimately the isles. But he was not in any position to carry his outlandish ambition out, he proved to be a rather ineffectual leader, relying on others to get things done for him. One could say he was incapable of ordering people without advice on his side.

This is where Sang Hak, the son of Tae-Hyun comes in. As the leader of one of the biggest triads in the nation, he helped his father succeed in areas he shouldn't and in doing so, the company also succeeded. Thanks to his hard efforts, in time MBC ousted the federal government in a lengthy operation in what now is called "the MBC Handover". Politicians were forced to concede and hand power over to MBC from the fear of murder, blackmail and out of bribery. MBC's influence was too strong to contest with. Despite doing all of his father's dirty work in the background, Tae-Hyun took credit for all of his son's efforts in virtually everything. As a honoured man he didn't particularly mind his father's ego boosting, as the business will be handed down to him in due time, as his father said.

But things were not meant to be. He stubbornly held onto his position as CEO, growing ever egocentric and power hungry. While this wasn't particularly a problem for Sang Hak's patiences, Tae-Hyun's paranoia had other plans for his son. Knowing that his son was far too influential, he forcibly retired Sang Hak from his position in MBC as a means to remove the threat of being unseated from his position. Feeling it wasn't enough, he even exiled him out of the country, with the news spun of course.

The son was, naturally and understandably pissed. Loyal subordinates from the long since disbanded triad followed him, others remained as internal intelligence agents. Living in exile he collaborated with insurgents to undermine MBC's authority. Despite whatever terrorist attack may be on the country side, it proved to be fruitless and of minor annoyance to the higher echelons. Triggering a full scale rebellion was not his objective however. All he needed to do was gain the trust of the insurgents. Working with them for three years, the time has finally appeared. Funding their pitiful cause, he finally gained the trust from its ineffectual leadership.

Tomorrow he will arrive in Munhwa for the first time since his exile. It was time to take back what is rightfully his.
