Fictionalist separatism had for centuries been evading the sense of a needed and careful consideration, ever remaining the unlikeliest conspiracy in which it was thought necessary to contend with. The union of the two demonstrated the resolve of a vast and conspiring difference in emerging political idea that had otherwise been a fringe aspiration, formed and primed to abandon, to undo the Engellexian Republic.

Rooted within the criminal networks across the Thaumantic and successfully traversing societal limits, the Enterprise - as it had become commonly known as - was viewed possessively as bearing greater capability than a standing force of insurrection or professional enforcement, ultimately more powerful that the Republic’s own military. It was a terrorist organisation that stood for Fictionalist freedom and the separatism of the Sovereignties, with the resulting aim to qualify those territories for unconditional independence from the Republic and further the adoption and interests of a more socialist culture.

The execution of their first instruction in anticipation of those aims - 30.12.18 - the assassination of the Republic’s leadership, achieved less than they had desired, but far more than all reasonable expectation of the Republic. The survival of the Northern and Southern Presidents from those attempts did not discourage the confidence of the Enterprise, and its benefactors, on the death of the Lord Protector from a successful assassination. The leadership of the Sovereignties - Baroness Emelda Ajogo - those it was suspected had provided much for the creation and command for the Enterprise, felt not only secure but powerful, having the efficiently reaching and murderous network of domestic terrorism move them to this irregular confidence; to move them to publicly declare their intentions and arrogantly render the legitimacy of the First Republic and her -ism as a Power and ideology dissolved.

From that event, what continued to sustain Europe’s oldest continual republic - the imperious compromise of Dulwich (Hammersmith) and Elephant and Castle - had found itself vulnerable, its inadequacies openly disclosed with increasing escalation to an eventual internal matter of the Thaumantic civilisation. The Engellexian Republic, arguably at that moment, had become a historical concern.

It was from within the heart of Engellex that, for hundreds of years the Thaumantic found an unshakeable foundation in the creation and growth of civilisation across its vast geography, from that and to the southern reaches of the Southern Constituent Republics. Before and since, the rivalry of several powers for the prominence and territorial extent of the Engellexian Republic was ever constant, yet unable or unwilling, never to be a truer example of a power committed to the greater, common concern and interest of its citizens.
