Aliko Simeonescu had a smile on his face. He had achieved his goals. The Salvationists had achieved their goals. They were finally free of Altai to begin their own destiny on the world stage for the good of their people. Aliko excused himself from the hall to one of the side rooms. He placed a call back to Asau and the only thing he could say when the other line was picked up was, "We did it."

Back in the hall Carmine nodded as the Altaic consented to Zamosk. The largest hurdle to peace had been tackled and the rest would soon be as easy. "Now that we have come to an agreement on Zamosk we can move to the next item. For both Talemantros and Engellex positions we must ask from Altai to resign from the European Defense Federation. The alliance membership was the catalyst that led Altai to attack Engellex forcing Talemantros to protect her ally. Altai started this war and they must accept that and resign from the EDF."

"Peace must prevail and for this, my government is ready to resign the European Defence Federation." Said Pavlichenko, sharply showing through his tone that he didn't liked that.

Even if he found the resignation from the EDF unnecessary, he didn't mind it. For Altai, the EDF was to show to the world that it had powerful friends and even if Altai would resign he, as the Foreign Affairs Minister would keep close ties with the EDF nations. But after this war, the balance of power would change in Europe. And new friends had to be made and old friends had to be kept.

What really revolted him was Zamosk in general and The Salvation Army in particular. The war in Zamosk that began in 2010 was stared by Sidorenko's nationalization of the Churches and Monasteries and confiscation of the Orthodox Church's wealth. It was necessary. The people died of hunger in the Uroduah Autonomous Oblast and the priests were fat. They started the revolt to take back their money, and now they call this conflict a struggle to save Zamosk and it's people from the "evil" Altai. It is outrageous. And the Talemantines support them. After seven hundred years of rivalry between our nations, now they think they won, by separating the Altaic people.

Carmine Gavallo leaned back as the Altaics relented. Sure there were other things that Talemaniki wanted from their neighbor, but at the present time they were unfeasible and the current concessions were satisfactory. Zamosk was free and firmly in the Talemantine sphere, Altai and the EDF were disgraced. Now that the Spoils of War were settled it was time to offer the olive branch to the Altaics.

"With the more important issues now settled I believe that we can turn to the last issue of this conference. Wars have great tolls on nations especially the nations where most if not all of the fighting occurred. This devastation of war put strains on the economy and military of any such state on the receiving end of a war. This is why we wish to establish a Free Trade Agreement between Altai, Talemantros, and Great Engellex. This will allow the companies and authorities in Altai greater access to the larger and stronger economies of Talemantros and Engellex to help it in it rebuilding process. We wish to also form a Defense Pact between Talemantros and Altai, so that the Talemantine military will protect Altai from foreign aggression while it rebuilds it military."

Pavlichenko was glad that the "hard part" of the conference was over and now he only had to agree on those two minor agreements and it will be over. He would be know as the one who ended the 4th Altaic-Talemantine War...and the 1st war Altai lost against the Talemantines.

"I, in the name of my government gladly accept the free trade agreement and the Defense Pact. I hope that this will soon bring peace in Himyar." He said looking at Vice-Chancellor Gavallo. "Even is there are still some entities that provoke the peoples of the continent by their artificial and unnatural existence." He said looking with the corner of the eye at Simeonescu. "But we won't accept Talemantine, Engellexic or Zamoskan forces in our territory."

"Then I believe that we have achieved consensus on each of the issues and peace can return to Himyar. If no other party has anything to add to this treaty," he said looking to the representatives from the belligerent nations. "Then we shall sign our names to this treaty and let each state ratify it according to their respective process."

Treaty of Talemaniki​

Article 1

2. The Principality of Altai will recognize the independence of Zamosk and their right to decide their own future.
3. The recognized territory of Zamosk shall be the north Cala Island, Ira Island, and the Zamosk Peninsula with the border stretching from Marka to north of Kransa.
4. The border between Altai and Zamosk will be opened for a period of six (6) months to allow the free flow of people that with to reside in either state.
5. The Talemantine Empire will subsidize any citizens wishing to move from Altai to Zamosk, and Altai will subsidize any citizens wishing to move from Zamosk to Altai.

Article 2

Due to the Principality of Altai starting the war Altai will resign from its membership from the European Defense Federation.​

Article 3

2. The Talemantine Empire, the Union of Great Engellex, and the Principality of Altai will enter into a Free Trade Agreement.
3. The Talemantine Empire and the Principality of Altai shall enter into a Defense Pact.

After reading the whole treaty again, Pavlichenko was glad that this whole circus has finished. He took his pen and signed the treaty. It was a humiliation that Altai will not forget soon.

 

[Great Engellex]

The Engellexic delegation considered the treaty a diplomatic triumph – Viscount Palmerston called it peace and honour, a Talemantine achievement before the assembled delegates, but some in Dulwich did believe that it may lay down a manner of problems which could potentially re-emerge in the region at a later time, for a possibly worse conflict. The reasoning was simply that the Altaist Government didn’t seem to truly recognise their mistakes, instead where arm twisted into this agreement.

However, despite few reservations, the Peace Conference provided a universal relief and a feeling, in Dulwich at least, that a repetition of such a deplorable conflict could be avoided in the future.

Viscount Palmerston, despite it being outside his remit, promised Royal and Imperial Assent from both Parliament and the Queen-Empress.
