NSC meeting held to discuss urgent measure

Emergency meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) was summoned at the Presidential Office. Emergency meeting of NSC members was summoned to discuss the urgent measure of government on recent conflict between Oikawa and Jizhou. Despite the prediction of several security experts, direct actions on either side of conflict were not considered, according to the spokeperson for Presidential office.

After the meeting, President volunteered the press conference about the measure discussed during the NSC meeting. President said he is feel sorry about casualties by the recent bombing on Jizhou capital Yiyuan and send condolences to the victims and their families. In response to questions that asking the possibility of Shinryeo's involvement into conflict, President answered that government is monitoring the situation very closely, however there's very few possiblity to get involved into the conflict. Furthermore, President has criticised the Oikawan aggression over Jizhou and urged the Oikawan authorities to stop it immediatly.

Lee Hyun-ok not to run LRP leadership race

Lee Hyun-ok, the former leader of ruling Liberal Republican Party, said to the reporters in response to strong commendations for the leadership race to be held during the party conference on June 21th to 24th.

Ms. Lee met reporters before she attend a regular session of the National Assembly and asked about the possibility of running for the upcoming leadership race. Lee, who is considered to be front-runner of next presidential election in 2012, however denied any possibility of running for the leadership race.

Today's statement from Ms. Lee can be interpreted as her position on this matter seems like firmly stood long before the leadership race and this position will not change no matter what happens. As Mr.Lee declared not to run for the leadership, the leadership race for ruling Liberal Republican Party will likely to be a competitive race.

BREAKING NEWS: Armed Forces on Alert

The SBS has learnt that Republic of Shinryeo Armed Forces is on DEFCON 2, which is second highest level of readiness. According to the Department of National Defense, this is mainly due to 'internal security', not from threat of outside of the country. However, all members of armed forces is now ready to enter the combat as soon as they are attacked. Also, some unspecified news source reported that ROSAF (Republic of Shinryeo Air Force) fighter jets are moving north to hit unknown targets, however Spokeperson for the Department of National Defense denied such a report.

The SBS will deliver the news as it develops.

DEFCON 2 is still in effect and it is mainly due to severe problems on the internal security. It is not related with current conflict between Jizhou and Oikawan Empire.
