The Société-Générale de Cœurléon is pleased to announce the first foreign acquisition in its existence. The SGC has acquired majority stock in the Banque de San-Marie Erique (Banque SME). The largest bank in the Republic of Belmont, the terms of the deal was 50bn Cœur (200bn Belmontien Livre) cash for 60% of stock.

The Duke de Bon, as CEO and President, attended the signature ceremony. The Banque SME was attended by its CEO but the delegation was led by the republic’s Finance Minister. The negotiations were conducted privately through corporate channels. The acquisition had the full backing of Premier Millerand of Belmont, with the blessing of His Late Majesty and the present Queen.

The Société-Générale de Cœurléon is pleased to announce its Royal Charter for The Royal Cœurlois Petroleum Company. The company will handle petrol and gas exploration and mining.

An agreement has been reached with The Government of Cœurléon. The Government will provide an endowment of 70 bn Cœur in exchange for 49 per-cent of stockholder ownership. However, operational expenses would be managed by the SGC, which will retain 51 per-cent (majority) ownership.
