Because Minister of Foreign Affairs Gianluigi di Gravesano-Carone was bound to Trier due to those Sylvanian and Pohjanmaan ships directly south of Morsum, Chancellor Rheinfeld decided to come to Tibur himself to make clear that Eiffelland-Retalia considered this meeting important. Not only because of the topic, but also because he considered it important to win Auraria and Beira for the ODS. When not as full members, then as allies in a different form. Should it come to acts of war against the Sylvanian and Pohjanmaan ships, the Minister of Defence would act as commander-in-chief in cooperation with the Vice-Chancellors.

Arrived at the ODS-headquarters in Tibur, he was received by the Secretary-General of the ODS, Alfia Vepunia.

His Excellency the Secretary-General Alfia Vepunia was already present at the headquarters of the organization upon the arrival of Chancellor Rheinfeld. The building for the occasion had been reserved exclusively for the invited diplomats, while to guarantee safety the police personnel were doubled and further measures were taken in view of the various international tensions.

The Secretary General would have been outside, ready to welcome all the delegations, one at a time, accompanying them inside the modern building.

“This is off to a horrible start,” Eva Montero thought to herself as she crammed her nose into the briefing materials that the Foreign Ministry had hastily provided her. Montero was notorious for being easily susceptible to car sickness, so being forced to read while the black SUV made the ride from the Aurarian Embassy to the ODS Headquarters was not pleasant. After one particularly sharp left turn, she slammed her book closed and focused on the road ahead.

“Nervous, Deputy-Minister?” Joaquín Vedruna smirked.

“Motion sickness, I’d bet,” her body man Vincente replied.

“Ah, that’s unfortunate,” the Ambassador gave a condescending frown.

Montero hated Vedruna, that was known. Years ago, Foreign Minister Cabello divided the Department of Gallo-Germanian Affairs into separate departments, one for Gallia and Germania. While politically motivated, one of the results was a near civil war in the foreign ministry over who would become Deputy Foreign Minister for Germanian Affairs. Vedruna believed it had been Montero’s more savvy political maneuvering. Montero couldn’t grasp the idea of Vedruna commanding the affairs of the continent for to her he was, well, a dick. In the end, the Ambassador to Etruria remained so and Montero became his boss.

“It’s not a problem,” she smiled at the Ambassador, who nodded in return.

The car arrived without and fanfare and the Aurarian Delegation was escorted inside the Headquarters of the Organization of Democratic States – it was certainly a beautifully modern building. Montero had heard that the Eiffellander Chancellor would be attending the meeting personally, a move that had surprised her as discretion was key to the Aurarians. She was in the room because Minister Cabello was busying negotiating in Solis for the creation of another organization of states. She didn’t want the press getting wind of Auraria and Beira meeting with ODS leadership while those negotiations continued.

The Deputy-Minister and Ambassador were escorted into the room with the Secretary-General and Eiffellander Chancellor.

Walking down the hall of the ODS headquarters in Tibur was Major James Johnstone and Adelina Kreszentia the lead representative of the Confederate States. They knew what was at stake and partially why the Major was being brought into the meeting when the rest would be diplomats. He commanded unconventional forces, and would hopefully bring an unconventional approach to the meeting.

"Things have quickly changed and Gallia or Germania, perhaps both are about to be ablaze Miss Kreszentia. I hope you are prepared to bring out all of the stops, our foreign office has already failed once on bringing the Aurarians into our sphere, hopefully with war closer than it was months ago but a similar and more aggressive approach and with the assisted effort of our allies we can accomplish it this time"

The Beiran delegation was made of the Beiran ambassador to Trier, Paulo Campos and the military attache to the Beiran embassy, Captain Fernando Tavares, officially a member of the National Army, but unofficially one of the commissioners of the Bureau of State Security, the External Reconnaissance Division. The delegation left from the Beiran embassy and arrived fairly quickly to the ODS headquarters, driving in an car with a Beiran diplomatic corps plate.

"Your excellency," said Ambassador Campos as he was greeted by the General Secretary of the ODS, Alfia Vepunia and after he shook her hand, he introduced Captain Tavares too. Both Campos and Tavares were feeling that as much as the ODS was stating that they want peace, they had a way of one way or another provoking Kadikistan. Trier had a long history of that. They were here to be sure that the war (because by now in Campos' mind it wasn't an if, but a when scenario), will not escalate more than just an ODS-Rurikgrad one, and that somehow, as much as they wanted to cooperate to keep the Leninovists away from Bourgogne, deep down, he knew that the Friulians have done right and that only a cordon sanitaire between Friuli and Eastern Bourgogne, will save Gallia. But now, in Trier, he wanted to see what the Aurarians and the ODS were thinking of the recent events and how they can be played in Beira's, and with that Auraria's, he thought, favour too.

The Ambassador of Etruria was the last to arrive at the palace, not so much because of the desire to show something, nor much less because of the idea to be desired, but more because of problems in the internal politics of the country, which is increasingly gloomy and unsettling. These problems are reflected in the appointment of key representatives in international roles, names that had to satisfy many political groups, often in conflict with each other. Luigi Dipezzo was the "nobody". He has not had a brilliant career like his possible substitutes, he is not pompous, he is not shy, nor introverted. He is normal man in every aspect, a shocking and alarming normality.

Luigi greeted the Secretary General, and they exchanged a few polite phrases before being accompanied to the great room, where they had all been assembled. When everyone had sat down in their seats, the Secretary General introduced the representative of the Republic of Auraria, so that he could present his requests.
