Now that the whole uncertainty around resetting the game has been resolved, for the most part, I find myself at a crossroads. Basically, most of what I've done with the SWR since my return has become meaningless and voided and I've been wondering if the SWR is really the thing for to RP right now. A large part of it boils down to the SWR and the Antistate occupying the same ecological niche, so to speak and while ideological competition is always fun to RP, it might not be the best thing for the community as a whole if that big left-wing threat on the corners of the map can't really become what it is supposed to be, because of this competition. Add overlapping map claims and a future Beautancus that wants to stay clear of wars for the foreseeable time (the SWR obviously having been RP'd as potential rival to Beautancus and the Domain thusfar) it means I have to seriously consider what's the wisest course of action from here on out.

I'll spare you all the details and instead put up a few options for you, the community, to choose from. This poll is in no way binding and just meant as input for me to see whether my fears/worries are even warranted and what the community actually thinks it needs from me in terms of RP.

    1. The return of Trumm, inter-branch competition Boogaloo
I will start anew from shortly after Trumms election, but emphasis will be put much more strongly on the unlikeliness of that victory. As a far-left outsider who wants to re-emphasize the ideological roots and aims of the SWR, she had to pull together an equally unlikely coalition - which will now struggle over which direction to take. There will be factions seeking to destabilize and potentially assault Beautancus, while others want to emphasize hegemony over the Implarian. Some want military buildup, others focus on supporting revolutions through subterfuge and political funding, while another group within the government seeks an alliance with the Anti-State...

    2. A revolution undivided
One of the vague, but mostly unexplored ideas that had been floating around for the background of the SWR was that the SWR and the Anti-state arose from the same revolution and, initially, were the same political project that then split over political differences and ambitions. But what if that wasn't the case? I could reboot the SWR as still being tied and allied to the Touzensphere, meaning the Implarian/Silk area would have a truly fearsome great power that could drive future RP.

    3. The return of Brazul
Brasilia Azul, proving that the best market economies are RP'd by commies. It would mean refocusing my RP towards economic RP and the attempts by a few powerful conglomerates, aided by the state apparatus they more or less control, to monopolize as much of the global economy as possible.

    4. Danzig
Same as the above, but with a tiny citystate, meaning the RP would be much more cooperative.

I’d be interested in doing cooperative RP, though I’ve been burned by it in the past some.

I am from Chicago where machine politics existed and enjoy the thematics of large city politics and how they interact with the rural regions surrounding. Chicago was the Second City to New York for the U.S. at its prime of competition, so I also enjoy the theme of an aspirational city on the ride and in corrupt competition with other cities.

Perhaps we could do a cooperative city-state together?

I clearly voted for the stars and bars. It's got a lot of potential in it honestly.

I was and continue to enjoy your current iteration of the SWR and would like to see you continue with it, but if you feel like a change is needed then you gotta do what you gotta do.

EDIT: After thinking of the Touzensphere idea, i think that might be more interesting and lead to more RP than attempting to keep old SWR that was created for a world that doesnt exist anymore. I changed my vote to that.

I haven't seen Brazul, and as much as I truly love the SWR as a uniquely American brand of Socialism, I have to say it's got my vote.

You and others have called it "the only truly capitalist country on NSE" in the past, so I want to see what that actually looks like.

That and I like Brazil, so some of that could never hurt, given our forum's distinct shortage of Latin American countries.

I have been RPing a free market capitalist city-state á la Hong Kong/Singapore mix. There is of course room for more than one free market city state, so perhaps that could be interesting. I voted for Brazil because I think we kind of need large economic engines that the city-states can feed off of and service. Right now our large countries are either communist with limited access or Post Delegationist with limited market access, or seem to be mostly self sufficient (different topic for a different debate). So that's why I support Brasilia Azul. I need a good source for all my NedFoods products

I'm one of those lucky enough to have been around to witness and even interact with Brasilia Azul in our ancient heyday, of course that's going to get my vote. Being frenemies will provide more opportunities for depth and nuance in our interactions as well, I think, in our changed world.

All the above said, I recall another player having mentioned some ideas for another Brazilian themed concept, so maybe there's still hope even if you don't. And they have time.
