Emperor attends Governmental meeting

In a surprising move, his Imperial Majesty, Emperor Markos V Joel has decided to attend a meeting of the Government in the wake of the attack in Pelasgia. It is the first time this happened since the reformation of the Empire and the creation of the first Nobatian constitution, with many describing this as a violation of a traditional taboo and barrier between the office of the Emperor and the Government, while others describing it as an extraordinary response to an extreme event.

Chancellor Gabrielkouda Stratides and the Constitutionalist Party government has enacted a series of measures to respond to the crisis in Pelasgia, namely reinforcing the police and gendarmes in Faras, Myos Hormos and Port Buto with units from the Imperial Armed Forces, for a faster response in case of emergency. The government also increased the funding of the EOAK, the National Organisation of Security and Intelligence, to further their scope in defending the Empire and it's people so that tragedies like the one in Pelasgia can be avoided. Not only do they keep PD and radical socialist organisations under surveillance, under the Defence of Constitutionalism Act, but also the banned NRA, the Nethian Revolutionary Association and the Central Himyari Communist Party.

"I know that it is highly unlikely and strange to have the Emperor himself attend such meetings, but I have decided to have him present so that we can show the world that we are standing as always, together, united in the face of adversity. Terrorists have exploited cracks in the security apparatus of Pelasgia and with that they managed to create cracks in the security architecture of Himyar Itself. The Iron Fortress needs it's defenders to be ready for anything and stand together. That is why we are ready to aid Pelasgia in this trying moment and that is why I would invite Azraq to do so too. If one of the three lions falls, the pride will fall soon too," stated Chancellor Gabrielkouda Stratides, after the governmental meeting.

Digitisation of Ancient Texts: The Imperial University of Faras has started a project to turn all of their archives into electronic files and will be starting with the ancient texts going as far as the Leontic migration to eastern Himyar. The project is headed by Professor Raphaelkouda Mariades, head of the department of Archaic Leontic History.
Myos Hormos: A storm in the sea of Buto is affecting naval traffic leaving Myos Hormos, with the port being closed until Thursday morning. Storms have been surprisingly strong this season, with two fishing trawlers already lost in the last months. Ten fishermen are still missing.

The University has long believed that the only way to honor where we are going is to be reflective of our past. As Auraria's premier educational institution, we have long made it a mission to collect, preserve, and digitize texts critical to the history and identity of the Republic. These stories, preserved in our library, is a more accurate retelling of the Aurarian nation than any book of history can hope to achieve.

As one of the oldest civilizations, Nobatia has lessons that can teach the entire world about the organization of human culture. As such, the University would be pleased to partner in any way that it can to help the Imperial University of Faras in the completion of this task.

Public outcry after local council of the 14th Nome increases budget for Cults

Local secularist associations have thoroughly condemned the decision of the 14th Nome to increase the budget for the Cults for the remaining of year 7528. The local council voted 14 for and 1 against, supporting the decision of Nomarch Demetrios Stavrakis to offer an additional one billion Staters to the Nobatian Oriental Church, with the goal to refurbish the Holy Trinity Cathedral in the city of Berenice.

While the news have been received well by the local faithful and Bishop Gerges Khailides visited the nomarch to personally thank him, many of the locals living in Berenice and in the nearby villages have been outraged, calling the whole "budget correction" a shameful display of clientelism, with Nomarch Demetrios Stavrakis being knows for his conservative, right wing views and his close relationship with the Bishop of Berenice and with the Pope of the Oriental Church, his holiness, Pope Raphaelkouda III.

The government didn't comment on this, but the financial law states that any surplus a local council has from the budget, it can be redirected anywhere by a vote of the local council, with the Nomarch having the right to veto it.

"The city is clogged. It's infrastructure is in shambles. Bad tap water, low pressure, the electrical grid is at the point of breaking, with frequent blackouts. The traffic is horrendous, with jams and after jams at nearly every intersection in the old town and along the King Demeas III Bulevard. The public transportation companies are bankrupt and offer you bad but extremely expensive services. Since Demetrios Stavrakis became Nomarch, five years ago, nothing, absolutely nothing has been done for the city. They claim they had a surplus from the budget offered by the government, but they have that because they didn't invest absolutely anything in the city itself. Local elections are coming and we will do our best to see that something like this will never happen again. This proud city has stood through too many only to be smothered by corrupt, power hungry politicians," stated Michaela Stamilli, Chairwoman of the Save Berenice Union.

Unofficially, Chancellor Gabrielkouda Stratides has stated that no law has been broken by the Nomarch for this, but knowing the current situation in the city, a decision in "much better taste" could have been taken.

Beginning of the year makes economical analysts optimistic

The beginning of the year finds many in the realm and the government extremely optimistic about the future as new trade opportunities in Gallia, especially in Friuli and Serenierre, are expected to push the economic forecast even more, with the most optimistic ones hoping for as much as 7% in the first trimester of the year.

As the need of iron and minerals for the Gallian market increases, great Nobatian concerns such as the Nobato-Pelasgian Conglomerate, Granitis SA and shipping companies such as Golden Lines and Hermes Shipping are ready to fill in to the new demand and to provide the best quality in both raw materials and it's transportation. The news of Serrenien interest specifically in Nobatian minerals and the Friulian company Mercîr looking to diversity it's sources for raw minerals have made the price of the stocks for Nobatian mining and shipping companies hike in the morning, before returning to back to normal by the end of the day.

Chancellor Gabrielkouda Stratides has stated that the government is optimistic that the mining industry will continue to expand in the foreseeable future without any governmental aid and will be the most important player in the fight to reduce unemployment in the country, especially in the Nomes of the deep south, which are historically hit by chronic poverty and unemployment.

Even so, the National Investment Corporation still continues it's campaign to diversity the economy, offering low interest loans to newly created companies activating in the secondary and tertiary sectors, a move which, together with a governmental income tax exemption for newly created companies in the first three years has started a boom especially in the tourist industry. The coast of the Sea of Buto, from the city of Berenice going through Faras, Port Buto and Myos Hormos, known as the Nobatian Riviera, has seen a huge increase of accommodation facilities for tourists, with many of the small fishing villages dotted along the coast beginning to offer quality services to tourists wanting to enjoy the beaches and the Sea.

"We are proud to say that the campaign to diversify the economy is quite the success and the government of the Constitutional Party will continue it as it finally gives the average Nobatian a real chance to enjoy social mobility and offers the realm the prosperity it deserves. We are quite optimistic about the new avenues of development for the mining industry which we forecast that it will offer quite the boost to the economical growth of the nation, as long as there is no crisis or no issue in the Long Sea which will make shipping problematic," stated Chancellor Gabrielkouda Stratides.

Increase in security for the Apollonian Games

As the Apollonian Games have always been an extremely important event in showcasing the Nobatian prestige, and it's sporting, transportation and recreational infrastructure, and for that has always been a target for disruptions coming either from radical separatists or communists.

The biggest of those disruptions took place in the first edition of the Apollonian Games, when terrorists from the Central Himyari Communist Party considered that the opening ceremony of the Games were the perfect moment to assassinate the then Chancellor, his excellency Enôch Epimachides. They were intercepted by the police as they tried to smuggle the weapons on the stadium and in the gunfight that followed as they were trying to escape, five terrorists together with two policemen and a civilian were killed. Since then, the Despotikí Astynomía, the Royal Police has been working closely with the Chorofylakí, the gendarmerie and the EOAP, the National Organisation for Security and Intelligence to ensure that the Games take place in a secure and seat environment for the athletes participating, the citizens, the tourists and even the foreign political delegations, visiting to see their countrymen perform.

After the chaotic beginning of the first editions, the others were much calmer, with only a series of protests of the southern separatists which were kept at bay with no issue. Now, as always, the government wishes to see the events of the Apollonian Games pass with no issue and thus have increased security in all the three main directorates that work under the Ministry of Interior.

The three terrorist groups that are active in the region, the NRA, Nethian Revolutionary Association, a Nethian supremacist and separatist group, the CPCH, Communist Party of Central Himyar, a Marxist-Leninovist group and the RSP, Revolutionary Socialist Party, a Marxist-Serazinist group, are currently weakened and dormant after they have been pursued and arrested from 7490s to 7510s (1980s to early 2000s in Gregorian Calendar). The EOAP will keep an extra careful eye on them and on anyone suspected of still having links with those organisations to ensure the safety of everyone and and to continue the era of peace that has come to Himyar.

"We will ensure the safety of everyone travelling to Faras, be them athletes, their staff, their families or tourists. Nobatia's Riviera has been an oasis of tranquillity and serenity in the region and such a big event like the Apolloniad will require all our efforts to see everything taking place smoothly. The Royal Police, Gendarmerie and the EOAP have been on alert since the terrorist attack in Sindos, in Pelasgia and since then we have analysed the events and have seen that it wasn't an attack that had any networks to the bigger Pan-Himyaric terror groups, which have been taken care of more than a decade ago, but rather a lone wolf that hoped to enter history. We will do our best for everyone to enjoy Faras, Nobatia and the Apolloniad," stated Chancellor Gabrielkouda Stratides.

Record number of tourists: The Apollonian Games have attracted a record number of tourists coming especially from Gallo-Germanian countries like Auraria and Friuli, but also Serenierre, Eiffelland and closer to home, Pelasgia. Helios Airlines have increased the number of flights from Trier, Solis, Grau, Villesen and Propontis landing at Merkourios International in Faras.
Maritime issues: A series of scandals regarding the maritime border between Montedoro and Pelasgia has stirred some concern. The government has stated that they hope that they will be resolved quickly and with no issues.

We are taken aback by the continued and needless provocations on the part of Montedoro against our Empire. We must indeed inquire as to what great truth our Leontic brothers from Nobatia have failed to recognise in these apolitical games, that would have otherwise prevented our participation and enabled that of Montedoro. If Montedoro wishes to politicise everything regarding supposed contentions in the Long Sea, it must at least limit itself to a sane stance and to events that are somehow relevant to such disputes.

The beginning of the trial of Lev Burukova and the Loago war criminals

The Faras Tribunal has begun the biggest trial of the 18th century in Himyar, as the some of the most infamous war criminals, mobsters and warlords have been finally brought forward in front of a joint panel of five judges, two Loagan, one Nobatian, one Pelasgian and one Azraqi. Most of the criminals brought forward have been captured by the NESS (Nompatiko Ekstrateftikó Sóma Stratoú), the Nobatian Expeditionary Army Corps which has been present in Loago since Choiak 1735 (December 2018) and the Loagan National Army in Operation Grapple, while the rest were captured as they were trying to seek refuge from the Gunnish and Stanleyan intervention.

The the main one brought to trial is Lev Burukova, the head of the Burukova Syndicate, supposedly a cartel that pretty much monopolised the economy of the western fringes of Loago, with Lev acting as a local warlord violating the sovereignty of the legitimate government and training and sponsoring a series of militias, whose consequence was the war that hit Loago in the last two years. The Burukova Syndicate was created after the death of Nikolai Leninov, when the Burukovas took refuge in the lands controlled by the League of Loagan Communists, whole mysterious leaders always take on Masimba as a nom de guerre. Since then, the Syndicate created a gigantic parallel economy that was destined to crash with the Loagan State, that happening when they unleashed the LLC on Loago, with the hopes of replacing it with a Kadikistani-aligned socialist republic. Lev Burukova also armed a series of dissident groups from the whole of Himyar, including the RANU, a communist group wishing to take control of Port Stanley, the Rhinos, a sectarian millenarist group aiming to take over the Dune Sea and Nobatia, and the Ahmari, a nationalist Cyanopian group. They hoped to take control of Loago and from there to export their revolution, but they failed as Nobatia created the EHTO (Eastern Himyari Treaty Organisation), bringing together Loago, Port Stanley, Azraq, Pelasgia and Nobatia as they have cooperated to defeat the dissident groups.

Others brought to trial are Christoph Keil, known as Comrade Christoph, a member of the Communist Party of Eiffelland, which was hoping to create a guerrilla group to fight Trier and is now suspected of taking part in the formation of the 4th Generation of the Rote Befreiungs Armee, Mutopo Sibanda, known as Saint Sibanda, the leader of the Rhinos which was at first presumed dead after Operation Grapple, only to be captured later by the Loagan National Army, Usian Pondo, known as Comrade Pondo, one of the lieutenants of Masimba and commander of the Loagan League of Communists, Chitundu Dalitso, known as Comrade Dalitso, a commander of an LLC guerrilla group and a known cannibal, Dumisani Buhle, serial murderer and rapist, a member of the Rhino militia and Zare Borisov, one of the commanders of the Burukova militia.

They are accused of crimes against humanity, genocide, war crimes, uprising and violation of state sovereignty, conspiracy to commit murder and to upset the constitutional status quo, money laundering, racketeering and weapons smuggling. As per the current Nobatian and Loagan criminal codes still accept capital punishment, should they be found guilty of the accusations, especially any of the first six, they will be executed by firing squad.

"It is very important that we do offer them a fair trial, to show the world that the Himyar they wanted to destroy was the civilised one. Looking at the mess their actions have left in Loago and the suffering they have inflicted upon so many, it is just unbelievable to imagine in good faith that evil isn't walking in this world, side by side, with us. We will make sure that justice and peace will prevail. Even as we are speaking our indicators show that the pacification process in Loago goes smoothly, with only the western massif still being a haven for Masimba and his terrorists, but not for long. The NESS, the Nobatian Epeditionary Army Corps is in a process of full withdrawal from Loago, as the conflict doesn't necessitate such a force in there anymore. The Nobatian Gendarmes, together with the Fante Mai Mai, the Loagan National Army and private security contractors such as the Green Phalanx are training now a civilian police instiution, in an effort to bring life back to normal in the eastern Himyari State," stated his excellency, Gabrielkouda Stratides, the Chancellor of Nobatia.

His excellency, Kanyembo Ntemena, the Mwene (King) of the Loda people and Prime Minister of Loago is present in Faras those days to follow the trial, but has declined to give any statements.

Apolloniad: The opening ceremony of the Apollonian Games have been deemed a great success. Athletes are now preparing for the first competitions, with ten matches of the round 1 in Archery (Target Shooting) starting tomorrow.
Anaxandros Street: The influx of both local and foreign tourists have been a huge boon for the theatres on Anaxandros street as for the following month, in which the Games take place too, many plays have been sold out.
Fishing fleet: The long awaited upgrade of the Nobatian fishing fleet is close to completion by the Larsian shipyards of MareBlu SA in Pisae. Out of the 35 factory trawlers ordered, 70% have already been delivered and by the end of the month, the rest will follow.

Further, we applaud the cooperation of the Three Himyari Lions, which have endeavoured to prove to the world once more that Himyar is a free and civilised continent, which fundamentally respects due process and the rule of law. Through the procedural justice of the Faras Tribunal, let us hope that substantive justice will be delivered to the victims of those who have committed unspeakable injustices in Loago and beyond. Pelasgia is honoured to participate in this initiative with its own judge, as we once participated in pacifying Loago under the banner of the Eastern Himyari Treaty Organisation.

The youth wing recalls Stratides as Chairman of the Constitutionalist Party

The Youth and Student wing of the Constitutionalist party, together with the reformist faction inside the Constitutionalist Party, led by Chael Iordanes Hadaatar have managed to get enough petitions from party members to recall Gabrielkouda Stratides, the current Chancellor of the Despotate from his position as the Chairman of the Constitutionalist Party. This might be problematic for the government as the recalling is followed by an extraordinary congress of the Party, organised for a new leadership election, which can bring down the government, should Stratides and his faction lose it.

There is quite a strong wave of discontent in the current line the party took as it is seen by many of it's younger members and the newer generation as moving away from the ideals of the 1641 Revolution (1925 in Gregorian Calendar), which brought an end to the absolute monarchy and the feudal remnant elements in the society, and started modernising the nation. The new guard of the party by now openly started to condemn the lese-majeste and anti-defamation laws that were set up during the Chairmanship of Stratides in his 15 year long Chancellorship. Using those laws and the Anti-Constitutional Act, the government has been observed in taking a slide towards authoritarianism, as personal criticism against politicians and the Despot, together with calls for political change have been thoroughly made illegal, although the enforcement has been weak if not arbitrary at times.

The recalling can be seen as an important episode in a long trend of lessening popularity of the Stratides government and the more monarchic. traditionalist and religious views of the Constitutionalist Party since the conservative faction took control of it over 25 years ago.

Chael Iordanes Hadaatar, a member of a Blemmyan noble family from the northern desert Nomes, close to the border with Azraq, with a strong tradition of membership in the Constitutionalist Party, has been seen by many reformers as the person that can return the Party back to it's roots, those being modernism, progressism and secularism, while more conservative members of the older generation have gone as far as to describe him as a foreign agitator or infiltrator, a communist, a republican, and the more religious critics of him going as far as to describe him as the Anti-Christ. Analysts have usually called him a populist and a nationalist, as while he comes from a noble family, he has called for an agrarian reform and for equal footing for all the nationalities inside the nation. He is a staunch republican and a figure of the anti-colonialist movement in Himyar, going as far as to criticise the Nobatian intervention in Loago as "neo-colonialist". He is probably one of the most popular politicians of his generation, with his open criticism of the Stratides administration and the monarchy, in direct violation of the aforementioned anti-defamation laws, making him favoured by the masses, for "telling things as they really are".

In the leadership election for the party, the current administration will see in him as a quite tough opponent, but Stratides himself has quite strong support too, as he has led the country for fifteen years of uninterrupted stability, economically developing the country and managing to avoid great bouts of recession. His greatest asset in this race, the victory in Loago over the Rhinos and the LLC, might be also his biggest problem, as after two years in which more than 35,000 young Nobatian men have been deployed with hundreds of billions of Staters pushed into the expeditionary force, there is an extremely strong push in the country to end the withdrawal quicker.

"Ninety five years ago, the Constitutional Party arose as a reaction to traditionalists wanting to reclaim their position and the Despot becoming again an absolute monarch. What Gabrielkouda Stratides did was to push us back into the years become the glorious Constitutionalist Revolution. We must me angry for that, but at the same time, we must thank him for that, as he finally awaken us to see the misery in which we are, where the people from the south and from the desert live like they are in medieval times and we are completely stagnant! We must thank him that he has opened our eyes and has made us see how much we have steered away from the path our forefathers prepared for us in the aftermath of the revolution. This country is now taking steps back from the modernisation and progress it had in the past century. It is time for our party to reclaim the banner of progress and to promise the people and the world that a free, strong, democratic and modern Nobatia is possible and we will be ready to build it," stated Chael Iordanes Hadaatar in the press conference after the recalling petition has been validated by the party's leadership commission.

"It is sad to see that the youth of today are becoming more and more radicalised. It is true that growth hasn't been as big or had the impact we hoped, but what we see now is just populism. Nobatia is an island of stability and growth in a Himyar that still struggles with colonial exploitation, and proto-states, while it's old fully developed states have been hit by political crises, while in the north, Gallo-Germania is still reeling from the 7 Day War. Compared to all that, Nobatia is doing great and I hope that we as a party are mature enough to say no to this damaging populism," stated his excellency, Gabrielkouda Stratides as a response in his own press conference.

NEWS FROM THE APOLLONIAD
Archery: In probably one of the most stressful matches that took place in the 1st round of target shooting, both Lucas Hawking and Mauris Ciprian have offered stellar performances, starting with a draw set, then continuing with a 23 point victory for the Hawking, a 26 point set win for Ciprian and finally a stellar, near perfect 29 for the Sylvanian, which cemented his victory.
Stadion: In Quarterfinal 3 of the Male event of the Stadion, the Aurarian Salvador Zurbarán has managed the impossible, to advance into the semifinal in the 4th position, after losing a few fractions of a second because of a bad start. He managed the impossible to take over the other runners and won with a photographic finish, extremely close to the 5th spot, the Eiffellandian Rainiero Formaggio.
Wrestling: In the female event of the Pelasgo-Tiburan Wrestling, our local Lioness, Munopa Jongwe has qualified to the 2nd round after a huge victory against the Serenien Marie Helene Arneux, managing to win with a huge 12 point difference.

In a surprising statement in front of the reformist group of the central committee of the Constitutionalist Party, Chael Iordanes Hadaatar, the main rival of the incumbent Chairman of the Party and the Lord Logothete of the Despotate Gabrielkouda Stratides, has stated that as much as he is a republican and believes in republican values, he understands that Nobatia has one of the world's longest monarchic traditions and that the nation and the people won't want to see it end, after nearly five thousand years of known monarchs.

The statement comes after an internal opinion poll of the Constitutionalist Party came with the result that 77% of the members don't want to add a constiutional change from a monarchy to a republic, 12% abstained and 11% supported it. The monarchic tradition stems from the purported list of Kings of the Iteron Valley that goes as far as the legendary rulers of the Pre-Meroitic cultures from the 3rd millennium BC.

The Republic Question appeared again in the mainstream media as the youth, student and reformist wings of the Constitutionalist Party outright revolted against the chairmanship of Gabrielkouda Stratides and his conservative faction. As much as sensationalist groups have tried to see the recalling as a move against the current constitutional order, many of the reformists have already stated repeatedly that this is a reaction to Stratides and the perceived corruption of his government, rather than against the statehood of the Despotate of Nobatia.

Enoch Alexandros Kondylis, a Blemmyan Senator for the 6th Nome and supporter of the reformists has stated that the recall and the leadership election has been done with the scope to root our corruption from the upper echelons of the party and to rejuvenate the respect for democracy, liberalism and human dignity that made the party so popular in the past decades, leaving behind the current stagnation and elitism that has characterised the Stratides administration.

The conservatives are still reeling from the news, being divided into continuing to support Gabrielkouda Stratides for this leadership election or support a younger candidate. The problem for Stratides is that the National Directorate of Anti-Corruption has already stated that they are interested in starting an investigation regarding alleged influence trafficking and abuse in power of Stratides, with his current position in government, making him immune from prosecution. Should he lose the leadership election, he will become vulnerable.

Pan-Himyari Nationalists condemn continued colonialism in letter to Government

A letter signed by more than 250 higher up members of the academia, companies, the Armed Forces, Deputes and Senators, journalists and even activists known for their sympathetic view towards the Revolutionary Socialist Party, the Communist Party of Central Himyar or the Nethian Revolutionary Association has been received today by the government led by the Lord Logothete, his excellency Gabrielkouda Stratides.

Dubbed the Proclamation of Pan-Himyari Unity, Freedom and Friendship, the letter condemns the continued colonialism of places such as the Dune Sea, which is currently under a Pohjan-Nedernesian Condominium, Nzadiland, a Tyskonian colony and the hinterlands around the city of Corifo, owned by the Grand Duchy of Furlanie, but also condemns the Pelasgian government for the creation of the Southern Himyari Territories, the Nobatian government for it's intervention in Loago and the alleged discrimination of non-Dawamalian peoples in Azraq.

The initiator of this movement is Tanaka Mutezo, an activist of the Nethian rights, known for his activism in defending the Rozvi, Mbunda and Loda medium of education and for campaigning for the autonomy of the deep south of Nobatia. His highly energetic manner and sometimes radicalism has made him be suspected of having links to the Nethian Revolutionary Association or the Communist Party of Central Himyar. The letter has been signed by many of what are seen as the intellectual elite of Nobatia, calling for the end of colonialism and imperialism. The discussion came back to the mainstream media of Nobatia as the head of state of Nedernesia is to visit the Dominion of the Dune Sea as the signatories wish the government to put more pressure on the Pohjan and Nedernesian authorities to leave the Himyari Territory.

Such initiatives have already been stated by sister groups in Pelasgia and Azraq, with the Pan-Himyari Unity Foundation being created as a think-tank and pressure group aimed to fight against colonialism and imperialism in Himyar with the ultimate goal of putting pressure on the local and abroad governments to withdraw from their Himyari colonial territories. Letters such as the Nobatian one will soon be published in Propontis and Jugol too.

Many of the signatories are putting their hopes into the reforms promised by the young guard of the Constitutionalist Party led by Chael Iordanes Hadaatar, whose position into federalism, modernisation and progress created an environment of extremely high expectations from the newer generations of not only Nobatians, but Himyaris everywhere.

"It is abnormal that in this day and age, nearing the half of the 18th century, that one still can see foreigners from Gallo-Germania playing God in Himyar and deciding how people live, where borders are drawn and exploit the natives. We will say no to Nedernesians in the Dune Sea, we will say no to Tyskonians in Nzadia, we will say no to Friulians in the North West, we will say no to Pelasgians in the deep south, the same way we have said no to Nobatians in Loago. The time has come for us to have a backbone and understand that our ancestors look at us with shame... Shame that we have allowed foreigners to lead us and we have playing the imperialist card ourselves, without standing in solidarity to the victims of colonial oppression. Me and my people have never come to Gallo-Germania and told a Nedernesian or a Tyskonian or a Friulian that they are barbarians. I never felt the need to 'civilise' them by forcing them to abandon their sausages and pasta for chakalaka on pap. I never came to tell them that their monarchies are archaic and primitive. Yet they did all that. They have shown their thorough disrespect not only for Nethians, but for humanity as a whole, as they still continue doing this. The same for the Pelasgians. They may be Himyaris too, but they prefer to act like northerners from beyond the sea. It is a sad state of affairs, but with activism, we will see it brought to an end," stated Tanaka Mutezo.

In your imperialistic view that everyone else is wrong and only you, Gallo-Germanians are right, you might have attacked a neutral observer and messenger, that being the Tahidromos newspaper. What we asked is simple. Let Himyar be for Himyaris. It is probably only our own superiority complex that sees us probably incapable of understanding how this is a violation of our own continent. You don't see Pelasgian, Azraqi or Nobatian flags flying over Gallo-Germania and Scania, yet you see Friulian, Tyskonian, Pohjan and Nedernesian flags flying over Himyar. Why does decrying this situation make us extremists and terrorists?

Is the government of the Grand Duchy afraid of the truth? We did nothing illegal. We just enjoyed our civic rights of free speech, to call for an end to colonialism. But it may be that the Grand Duchy is just not democratic enough to accept any other positions than the official, national narrative. We ourselves are shocked by this, let alone probably the citizens of Friuli who went to sleep thinking that they live in a democratic society and woke up in such a totalitarian regime. How long is it until opposition parties too are deemed extremist and terrorist for not following the official narrative of the government?

Chael Iordanes Hadaatar wins the Constitutionalist Leadership Election

In an unsurprising event, after the last hiccups of the conservative faction, which hasn't been able to find a better candidate to replace Gabrielkouda Stratides, the reformist faction led by Chael Iordanes Hadaatar wins the election for the chairmanship of the Constitutionalist Party, making the aforementioned the first Blemmyan to ever become the head of the biggest political party in Nobatia and the nation's first Lord Logothete of such ancestry.

Hadaatar has managed to win more than 73% of the votes from the members of the Constitutionalist Party, propelling the reformist faction into power after more than half a century. His counter candidates, Gabrielkouda Stratides of the conservative faction has managed to get only 19% of the votes, while Thekla Cebisile, of the moderate faction, which has promised her confidence and support to Chael Hadaatar, has received 8% of the votes.

As Stratides has lost the leadership election, he has also lost the position of the Lord Logothete of the Despotate of Nobatia, thus leaving the country with no prime minister or government in the next few days before Despot Markos V appoints Hadaatar as the new Lord Logothete and the Parliament votes him in. The victory of the reformists has been hailed as historical by many of non-Iteron-Nobatian nationalities of the country, especially the Blemmyes, Urudoah and Yibirs in the north and the Nethian Rozvi, Mbunda and Loda in the south. For them, this victory represents a chance for a more democratic and inclusive Nobatia.

Chael Iordanes Hadaatar was born in 1698, making him at the age of 38 the youngest Lord Logothete in recent history. He has studied history and archaeology at the Imperial University of Faras, before doing a masters and PhD in Law. He was very active in his youth in campaigns against police abuse and against political violence, especially during the Years of Lead and later against discrimination made by the authorities especially against non-Leontian Nobatians or non-Orthodox faithfuls. Up until recently, as the ombudsman, Hadaatar managed to win more than 25 trials against abuses of the Nobatian authorities and police during the Years of Lead, his promises for democracy, transparency and respect for human dignity resonating with the newer generations reaching voting age in the past decade.

"It is a moment that will remain in history as much as the Great Revolution of 1641 (1925 in Gregorian Calendar) and the end of the Years of Lead. The people of Nobatia deserve greatness, democracy, progress and modernisation. I will promise you all that all the elements that ossified our society will be dealt with and Central Himyar will rise again as a beacon of democracy and prosperity for the whole world to see. We will work together to make this land our home, be us Iteron Nobatians, Blemmyes, Urudoah, Yibirs, Nethians, or Christians, Muslims, Jews or Himyari native faithfuls. I promise you all: Your voice will be heard! We will make sure that this happens and that this land or this continent won't be seen just as an easy target for corrupt politicians,, tyrants, warlord or faraway oppressors. It is time to rise to the occasion so that we make out of our respect for civic duties and work ethic en element of pride. To you all I promise: No bread without work, no work without bread!
