TARANIS AIRCRAFT
CORPORATION
Established: 1932

Taranis Aircraft Corporation started out modestly as the vision of Bantyric aviation pioneer Robert Campbell to build aircraft that could withstand the harsh northern wastes of Bantyr. As a runner for various small towns inaccessible by ground or naval vehicles he delivered food and medical supplies during the harsh winters of Bantyr. After seeing many of his friends die in the dangerous weather conditions, Campbell retired from running supplies and with a small loan and several thousand Bancs saved up over his running career he started Taranis Aircraft named after a Pagan sun god he prayed to every morning. Using his home built running plane he invented several new devices which prevented the build-up of ice on the leading edges which at the time they did not know caused much of the accidents during cold weather flying. The plane also featured a much larger and much more powerful turboprop and a better balanced center of gravity creating a stable, faster aircraft which could land on and take off of very short runway while carrying more cargo. He went on to sell this aircraft to many companies who employed runners to northern towns. Although no real authority took the time to see if his plane changed the fatality rate for runners, many runners swore by the trusty aircraft and towns reported fewer but much more larger shipments in shorter amounts of time.

Even after the death of Robert, Taranis has constantly changed the face of utility and small regional passenger operations all across Bantyr no matter what the conditions and geography of where Taranis built airplanes land. Whether its a small regional transport between island towns or an air ambulance on it's way up to the northern wastes, Taranis designed airplanes last longer and offer much in the way of customization. With the expansion of trade laws by the Bantyric Government, Taranis will be slowly opening up several models in all available packages for international sale.

The King Bear 500 is an improved version of the original 1970's 100 series, it is the only Taranis design that has been in use for more than thirty years, proving to a stiff competitor in this age of fast jets and very light jets. The turboprop platform continues to be favored over jet designs in the regional airline and utility markets due to it's relatively lower fuel consumption and efficiency at speeds lower that 450mph. It has seen use by the Bantyric air doctors association, flying in highly trained doctors to frontier towns in the north, it has also been configured as an air ambulance, regional cargo, regional airline operations, charter flights, corporate configurations and has even found use in the Bantyric Airforce as test aircraft. (Enclosed lavatory in most configurations)

It is rated by the BFAA (Bantyric Federal Aviation Adminstration) to fly in moderate icing conditions. Customers love it's ability to take off in short distances and land in short distances increasing the number of airports it can land at with a T/O distance of 3,500 feet, a feat you won't see most business jets easily do. Cheaper than a jet with multitudes of capabilities, The King Bear 500 will suit your needs no matter what you plan to use it for.
