POLICIES:

Religious Freedom: Tiburan Catholicism is the state religion in name, but in practice all religions are allowed to function, with the exception of certain cults;
Freedom of Speech: Speech is generally free with the exception of threats and inciting violence.
Tax Policies: Flat rate income tax of 15%; Companies activating in Votadinia have a smaller income tax, of 8%, to support the development of the northern regions.
LGBT Policy: Homosexuality is legal since 1985. Anti-discrimination laws have been enacted since 1995. Age of consent equal with the heterosexual one, at 16.
Firearm Policy: Hunting clubs or sport shooting clubs (Olympic sports) allow for gun ownership, though ammunition must be both purchased and used at range. Semi-automatic rifles are not legal for civilians and semi-automatic pistols may not exceed .22 caliber. Shotguns are available to rural citizens who live or work in Votadinia or Maetia but must also obtain a permit and go through a process. Restrictions on ammunition for the shotguns are strict.
Foreign Aid: None, with the exception of the Loago Development Fund.
Abortion Policy: Legal and protected.
Healthcare Availability: State insurance system, all citizens paying into the national system and being members from birth. Supplemental insurance available for private practices or cosmetic/comfort procedures.
Energy Policy: Hydro power and natural gas are the most dominant. There is a nuclear power plant with 2 active reactors supplying more than 25% of the national demand near Monadh Rois.
Immigration Policy: Preference for Celtic peoples and member states of the Viridian Compact; else via waiver system where potential immigrant requires a sponsor by an individual or employer.
