Sovereignty Party Branded as Terrorists

Wersaw, Aulrania

They rub shoulders with Aulranian President Gen. Joseph Tetchnicov and lawmakers in Wersaw but are shunned as "terrorists" by Aulrania's Nationalist leadership — members of an Aulranian-based sovereignty movement for the independence of the province of Crackovy.

Officially known as the Crackovy Independence Bloc, the CIB as they are known across the nation has now been officially branded as a "terrorist organisation" by the President himself in Wersaw. "The Crackovians claim to want a peaceful secession from Aulrania, but what they do not realise is that alone, they will have no economy and they will be an open target for other more imperialist nations. They wanted a voice, and they got it by entering parliament. That's as far as I, and the People's Nationalist Party are willing to go on that subject." The President ended the press conference by stating "Crackovy will never secede from the republic."

With that being said, it is difficult to tell if the CIB will be given the opportunity to continue working in Wersaw alongside other, more patriotic parties. The People's Nationalist Party currently holds a majority over all in the lower and upper house and may move to have them banned from parliament. Negative attention has been placed on Crackovy by its neighbouring provinces after the kidnapping and murder of Wersaw-born political activist Benjamin Hersfold who was held at ransom and killed when nobody caved to the groups’ demands. However, the CIB did not claim responsibility for the killing despite the terrorists having similar views as the federal party itself.

All we can do now is stand by in Wersaw to see the outcome of this ongoing dilemma.

Whilst the State Department of Foreign Affairs of the Free Cities Union will not go beyond its brief and intrude into the interior of Aulranian affairs, we will express our concerns nonetheless.

Continued suppression of the nationalist movements from and within Crackovy will not be overlooked casually within the region, actions of this sort tend to harbour growing resentment toward the ruling political elite. Such resentment can become passionate and lead to political disturbances which would undoubtedly spill over to the region, and the stability of the region will not be compromised.

Therefore we urge President Gen. Joseph Tetchnicov to make a serious review on his stance with the Crackovy Independence Bloc.

We strongly call on President Tetchnicov to start dialogue with the Sovereignty Party instead of giving fuels to the fire. The Party has not done anything that would bring about destabilization for the Aulranian State.

We hope the party is not banned as it will only lead to the destruction of the democracy.

Defence Minister: "Armories Will Sweep Aulrania"

Dankurk, Aulrania

The Tetchnicov government has said that it would eventually build atleast three new armories in all seventeen provinces across Aulrania, but since the last cabinet shuffle in 2009, nothing has emerged from that idea until now. Defence Minister Klaus Pietvev confirmed today that the sites and construction of these said armories have commenced - especially in the east. "We're proud to announce, with the cooperation of our Wersaw-based partner Karling Construction Inc., the opening of one of many new armories right here in Dankurk. We trust this will certainly give a boost to the plummeting employment rate in the north and hopefully a newfound sense of national pride as we will now be able to supply our men in the forces with newer and more advanced weapons."
Despite the government's usually tigh grip on protesters, radical and leftist opposition groups blocked the entrance to the building site in Crackovy's capital, Krausminster. The Aulranian Disarmament Coalition (ADC), who cover their identities in case of government intervention, have been arrested in large masses in Krausminster after frontline protesters struck and killed a NPPA (National People's Police of Aulrania) officer - killing him with a single blow. With the tentions growing between the small leftist minority in Aulrania and the Tetchnicov government, NPPA officers have been ordered to tighten security in all job sites across the nation.

Crackovy Independence Bloc a No Show

Wersaw, Aulrania

Parliament resumed today with almost everybody showing up for work except one particular group making waves in the authoritarian regime. The Crackovy Independence Bloc, which is the only seperatist party at a federal level, did not show up for the session out of anger of President Tetchnicov's branding them as a terrorist organisation. A high-ranking CIB member, who wishes to remain anonymous had this to say: "When Eirich Daultricha founded this nation as a republic, I'm sure he did not count on our leaders to step over the minorities in this nation. We Crackovians have our own culture and we wish to show the word that we can make it as an independent nation state. But this monster is the only blockade." He said about President Tetchnicov.
The individual governments of Frescania and the Free Cities Union expressed their distaste for the rising tensions though the Nationalist People's Party has not taken any seriosu measures so far. "I've seen NPPA police coming here daily." Says a Crackovian woman nestling her infant. "Yes, right here in the little town of Sjervoa. I saw them. Men in navy blue in great big vehicles just watching us." The NPN nor the NPPA have commented on these events happening all over the province of Crackovy.

Budget Time

Wersaw, Aulrania

Finance Minister Franz Goer today tabled a budget plan that builds on Aulrania’s economic recovery with action to create jobs and growth, sustains our nation’s economic advantages and includes a disciplined plan to return to balanced budgets.

“We present today a jobs and growth budget,” said Minister Goer. “In this budget, we are completing our plan to create jobs now. We are taking additional measures to protect existing jobs and create new jobs. We are also looking ahead to secure our long-term economic growth.” Budget 2010 will help solidify Aulrania’s economic recovery and sustain our economic advantage now and for the future. The budget plan has three key objectives.

First, it confirms $19 billion in new federal stimulus under Year 2 of Aulrania’s Economic Plan to create and protect jobs. This new stimulus will be complemented by $6 billion from provinces, municipalities and other partners.

Second, Budget 2010 invests in a limited number of new, targeted initiatives to build jobs and growth for the economy of tomorrow, harness Aulranian innovation, and make Aulrania a destination of choice for new business investment.

Third, Budget 2010 outlines a three-point plan for returning to budget balance once the economy has recovered:

*First, the Government will follow through with the exit strategy built into the Economic Plan. Temporary measures in the Plan will be wound down as planned.
*Second, the Government will restrain spending through targeted reductions. Towards achieving this objective, Budget 2010 proposes $17.6 billion in savings over five years.
*Third, the Government will undertake a comprehensive review of government administrative functions and overhead costs to identify additional savings and improve service delivery.

Unrest in Crackovy, Aulrania

Krausminster, Aulrania

With the civil unrest in Crackovy, it was only a matter of time before one of the two opposing sides, the authoritarian government or the seperatist rebels, would eventually find their way to a violent solution to their problem. Today at 6:03am EST, the capital of the province of Crackovy, Krausminster, awoke to a shattered city center when Crackovian rebels for the independence of the disputed province bombed the mayor's office and then the highest court of the province itself. "I thought it was an earthquake at first." said stander-by Alisson Mulek, "Then I found myself huddling under a park bench for safety when I saw the second explosion at the court."

The Crackovian Liberation Militia (CLM) immediatly claimed responsibility for the attacks claiming that the courts represented Aulranian law and justice and not Crackovian justice. Despite the large waves of the explosions, only fourteen were killed in the incident and twenty-three injured. The others were shocked, scared and angry. "This puts a bad name on us Crackovians who do not wish to seperate!" Said an anonymous by-stander.

After the attacks, President Gen. Tetchnicov sent ground forces as well as fifteen tanks to the frontlines of Crackovy to stabalise any sudden insurgent attacks from the CLM. Krausminster is being described as 'occupied' by the people who live there. President Tetchnicov has also sent squads of the NPPA to investigate suspected seperatists or anyone who has had anything to do with the CLM or the CIB. "This ends now." He briefly said leaving his manor this morning. The CIB Party leader Boris Nietviev also commented on the early atttacks. "This is a sad morning for the republic. An issue this sensitive could've been avoided or even resolved in a different - more peaceful way. However, the Crackovians have spoken and now Tetchnicov will use it to his advantage. I will bet my bottom aulmarc that this man has been waiting on the edge of his seat for an occurance like this to take place to justify sending in his cronies in Crackovy."

The streets of Krausminster as well as other Crackovian communities - big and small have been occupied by the Aulranian military and NPPA officers. With the orders from the President to attack any threatening group now has the people on their toes and even some leaving the province for a safer one.

Why Aulrania wants to keep him

Wersaw, Aulrania

Today marks the day the Aulranian President General Joseph Tetchnicov came to power in 1998 after toppling the socialist government of Yuri Illychiev. In 1998 Aulrania had been suffering under a marxist regime led by former President Illychiev who was killed during the coup.

A man named Joseph Tetchnicov, who had even worked alongside Illychiev for years, had officially planned the perfect assasination plot to stop Aulrania from plummeting into a deeper recession often blammed on the marxist government. Tetchnicov and his co-conspirators such as Vasili Breznev and Vladimir Vlednik closely planned the assasination from the inside and at the same time raising a Nationalist movement to quickly gain the love and support of the Aulranian people. But finally on March 11th 1998, at 3:36pm EST, Yuri Illychiev was assasinated by being shot in the back of the head twice by Breznev - who was immediatly arrested and killed by the marxist police. Merely minutes after, the Nationalist rebels infiltrated the Presidential Palace and killed any marxist soldier and/or politician in sight. An estimate of 22 people died in that Palace during what is known as the March 11th Massacre. Tetchnicov and the Nationalist People's Party as well the Nationalist-led military came into power and took complete control of the republic.

But what has he accomplished for us during his regime? General Tetchnicov is a strong believer in keeping your country nearest to your heart before family friends and love. This strong Nationalist is by far the most authoritarian man to lead Aulrania since the days of Ivan. President Tetchnicov has installed a democratic system in the nation allowing opposing parties to participate in parliament in order to better the country. However, the winner by a majority in every election since the first in 2000 is the People's Nationalist Party led by the President and with Hans Muller as his Prime Minister. This causes foreign speculators to think that every five years elections are fixed by the PNP.

Aside from re-installing democracy to the nation...sort of, President Tetchnicov has boosted the value of the aulmarc and the economy in general by introducing new plans to build manufactures such as armories, auto plants and various other mechanical goods factories that could easily employ those who can't find work. The Affirmative Action Plan was also installed to put any homeless man living on the street and immediatly put him to work, no matter how minimal. Most of the time the police or the NPPA are responsible for implementing this action plan in various divisions and branches within the militant organisations.

Despite his fatherly image in Aulrania, some foreign nations have criticized the leader for being too authoritarian to run a country and that there are thousands of unsolved murder cases of high-profile politicians in Aulrania which always continue to be an open case. The NPPA, which is Aulrania's highest national police have also been spotted from big cities to rural communities investigating the slighest possibility of a coup or rebellion against Tetchnicov and the Nationalist regime. But still, our President remains confident that the country is going in the right direction for future accomplishments to come.

These days, the President is most concerned about the state of the province of Crackovy. The Crackovians are rumoured to be the President's least favorite group of people in Aulrania even though he tries to appear sympathetic in their situation. He claims to hate them more than the indeginous peoples of Aulrania or "savages" as he likes to refer to them as. Right now, squads from the NPPA as well as ground forces - with tanks and all - are swarming in Crackovy trying to scope out any possible insurgents from the Crackovian Liberation Militia. Tethnicov have also branded the federal party of the Crackovian Independence Bloc as a terrorist organisation for promoting seperatist propoganda and not saluting the flag of Aulrania when entering parliament. One can only tell what will happen next, but he tends not to speak publically that much.
