Federalists seek allies to upset Democratic Socialists
Brian Leslie
The 2019 recall election has brought the Democratic Socialist iron grip over congress into jeopardy as their twenty year slide has left them in possession of the lowest number of seats since they took power in 1974. With ten seats lost to them over angry voter feelings about the Engellpox crisis in Cantignia, the Federalists though thirty eight seats behind are scrambling to negotiate with Sylvania's far right Silver Legion and Night Watchmen to create a voting block majority and perhaps even install a Federalist as President of the Continental Congress.
With the majority that this bloc would create the Federalists will be able to block all Democratic Socialist sponsored bills and make any executive branch appoints impossible without a bipartisan 2/3rds majority. The rumor mill in the Capitol building suggest that the state of Great White's 14th district Congressman Ashley Breckenridge could possibly be considered for the third most important position in Sylvanian government should the three parties come to a compromise. Congressman Breckenridge had this to say about the victory and the rumors:
"Obviously we are all excited about these ten seats we just took control of, I was at the swearing in ceremony this morning and the energy we've all been lacking has finally come back to us. Clearly we still have a lot of work to do, but I can report that the Watchmen and the Silver Legion are keeping open minds about a coalition. Creating that coalition will require some compromise, the Silver Legion are very far to the right of Federalist Party policies and they have some ideas that we find are a little extra constitutional. As for the Watchmen we are much closer in political thought. With their help we can help up end the DemSocs and bring Sylvania back to the liberty aligned, constitutional conservative values that we hold dear.
The election while only taking place in a small part of the country's heartland was watched by excited Sylvanians everywhere and I think that we are seeing the support for constitutional values that we haven't seen since Rygaard was President. Sylvanians want to work, they don't want to have a government that rules over them and keeps them stupid, fat and happy. We are going to show those who haven't gotten it yet the value of standing up for yourself and fighting off this socialistic, parasitical thinking that has infected every facet of our society. Across the country now we have twenty more campaigns for recall, twenty more districts whose voters are sick and tired of the Dem Soc status quo that has only gotten them more taxes, more welfare burdens and more restrictions of their inalienable rights. Those will be hard fought recalls and some might not go through, but we are gonna fight tooth and nail to get the signatures we need.
As for the rumors of the party considering me for Congressional President, all I can say is I'm not actively pursuing it, but should the party feel that I am the best person for the job, then I will be happy to serve my country in that capacity."
Breckenridge also commented that we could see the results of the negotiations with the Federalists, Watchmen and Silver Legion come to a conclusion by Monday or Tuesday.
