The recent incidents envolving negros begun to sparkle a kind of inner rage in the colonies. For many centuries black, mulatto, caucasians and other foreigners live together in great peace under the crown of the Portusgalian Kings. Although there is some segregacionist treatment by metropolitan autorities during the Integralist Regime, they where minor. The Integralist Ideology isn't racist, but many integralists are, althoug very very basic racists due to lack of contact with negros for example.

Anyone knows the atittude of the colonial autorities from the Free Cities League towards the Negro. Many important persons from Mozambia, Equatorial Hymiar and Cape Ventura started sending letters to the governament, specially the Sovereign Congress and the Queen. They ask them to make a stance, do pression. The governament agrees with the letters, but... A problem emerge, the tycoons! The commerce between Portusgalia and the Free Cities is so intense that a small incident could affect the Stock Exchange or even the trade. They act with caution... Long gone the days of revolutionary governament and the ideas to chance the world, that is still today only for the Bonapartists, a small group of intelectuals...

The Negro issues in the Free Cities Hymiar region concerns very much the Neo-Septembrist, passionate fighters for political freedoms. But they are lazy this days, and the East India Company makes pressures not to start a diplomatic war upon the Free Cities League.

Even the Jimban SSR, a state "of the people" only in papers, showing little difference to the other HA nations, agrees! Quite frankly the Gamadian nations are in danger of further political isolation despite Valkany's decision to get friendlier relations with other European Nations and represent them all. With more and more European nations overthrowing the systems still in effect in Gamadia, the HA seems scared of the latest revolutionary menace! "They must be made an example of!" says Adamian King Basilius. "And that they will." replies Valkanian Emperor Demetrius XIV!

The Bangala Kingdom has always been a pain in the ass to the portusgalians. They have major cities on their control there, but never ner controled the Kingdom. Other germanian powers in the area always put the Portusgalians with heartburn in their major plans for expansion in Himyar. The Portusgalians know, better then other germanian power the riches that lie inside Bangala. Lisse it is since the 19th century the Portusgalian Nemesis, two options on the desk confrontation or cooperation...

The rise of imperialism in Valkany, concerns more the portusgalian govermament rather then a few partisans pretending to be soldiers. The weapons race, the army ready to invade Himyar, Valkany is becoming a source of fear and hate to Portusgalia, the "Basto Dossier", wich was given by the Earl of Basto to the government, gives a vast series of directives from the deceased valkanian emperor regarding the restauration of Integralism in Portusgalia, including the projects of Ávila.

By this the government rest the case, the Beira Alta uprisings are null since the begining. A list of names in Portusgalia is known, and those will be hunted sooner or later.

Portusgalia observes the position of Cantignia towards Valkany, this game is risky, Portusgalia wants to remain neutral, has it remained in the August Cathastrofe, but want to get away with a possible war. War is no good for economy...

Meanwhile in Valkany the Imperial Government is on edge. Portusgalia's holdings in Himyar very close to the area that Hulst, the Free Cities League and Valkany are claiming. More specifically Mozambia is precisely North of the land that Valkany lays claim to by the name of the Valkanian Eastern Cape. Portusgalia would be the first to fight a war with Valkany for dominance in the area. Especially considering that Portusgalia's trade with the natives, who have large Gold and Diamond mines, will seize immediately should Valkany take over. Portusgalia however is not in a place to fight such a war, being heavily outclassed by Valkany's superior military technology and with the Integralist Revolt still at large. Never the less Valkany just recently ordered cutting edge equipment for a 200,000 strong expeditionary force.

The government closed the Emissora Nacional radio, because of the problems with the news about the dead Valkanian Emperor. The government forced the Lisbon Court to give veredict in favor of the Crown of Valkany sue. By now, the Government is planning on a true national radio, state owned, and is looking for a new reality, television.

The Royal Broadcasting Channel opens. It is the first public broadcasting station in Portusgalia, driven by the scandals of the Valkanyan Imperial Family with the Emissora Nacional.
The must interesting feathure, it was the fact that Emissora Nacional was almust bankrupt, and the Court made it pay a fee to the Valkanyan Imperial Family. After shutting down, the State bought all the equipment and buildings to the Emissora Nacional and started a new Broadcasting Channel... But it was not only the equipment and buildings, it was also the same old staff and press staff from Emissora Nacional that are now working has employees of the Royal Broadcasting Channel. That's bad news for Emperor Demetrius XV...

Reforms are being done in the army. Suddenly an order to collect all remaining R35s and H39s from the army. Only the S35/40 Somuas where left on duty and the humongous Char B1 Bis. Nobody knows what is going to happen to these tanks, but they know that a new tank, based on Somua S 35/40 is already in production.

Several R35s are conducted to the army workshops, they will be converted in to self propled guns/tank hunters.

The forgotten colony of Bissao, is now on the desks of the Bureau of the Kingdom. The recent portusgalian wide explorations, promoted by this bureau on natural resources proved that this province has "nothing to offer". Expect the main export made by Bissao of Cashew, Groundnut, Natural rubber...

Natural rubber is being sold to other foreign countries mainly. Plans for a construction of a tire factory are being made, since ASTRA has plans to have it's own tires to equip its cars.

The "Socialist Block" is starting to catch the general population rage. The government is ware of that. In the public opinion, it is general the idea that the "Communists desire to destroy the nation by stealing the overseas provinces", this is transversal opinion, that goes from Libertarians to the hiper-conservative Integralists.
The government fears that an increase in the popularity of the National Syndicalists, can raise, and even that the Integralists make a move, since they are using religion for anti-communist campaigns, declaring communism has a "develish conspiration" to destroy christianity.
A kind of McCarthyism existists in Portusgalia for long time, and anti-communist rethorics of the Government, sustain it. Although the anti-communist policies are not official, they are also applied to Integralists. The government maintains "secret lists" of the "public enemies".

The government doesn't demonstrate it to the public, but is very stressed with the "Communist Block" and Valkanian imperialism. Both forms deeply concern the government. Besides the government does math about the custs of a war between communists and Valkany/allies, and it is a major strike in economy, like the Catastrophe of August.

For now, a sneaky and evasion policies are on the order of the day, avoid Valkany and the "Communist Block" is the goal.

The new statment of the Crowned Government of Lisse, about Elefanta Island, has fallen in Lisbon like a bomb. The portusgalian government will maintain the communique in low profile has long has it can to gain time. But now Lisbon is starting to listen to the "Zumby of Elefanta", since he shauted to Lisbon to have more attention over Elefanta since Oil was found there.
Lisbon suspects that Lisse will try to ocupy the Elefanta Island, has an excuse that it is "part of the Black Coast" but in fact to seize the oil field.

The recent threat of war, stresses the government to get a fast and reliable solution for warfare in Himyar schenario. Tanks seem too heavy, but a new type of armoured car, a kind of weeled tank, would be fine. ASTRA already have proposed in the begining of the 50ties a new kind of armoured car, based on the experiences that their specialists have observed in the fields of August Cathastrofe. The military soon fall in love with the EBR, cheap, realiable, and a great cross country capabilities. The cheapskate portusgalian government liked the price... The two parties, military and politicians, are ok. The model is put in production, and ASTRA is the manufacturer. Great time for ASTRA, public money is always welcome, and increases the company's new expectations on the future.

The Marquis of Avila arrives at Santa Justa. It is the last time that he will see the sun again. At the cells gallery Avila is recieved has an hero by the prisioneers... he barely recognises the "Vampire of Bobadela"! The vampire gone nuts, and became a maniac. Avila notices the same thing on other old war comrads... now he knows why Santa Justa is so infamous.

[IPH] International Publishing House, the world's must famous publisher, recently published two taboo/controversial books:

"Portusgalia At The World's End by General António Busco, has hit the 5th position has a best seller in the class of "Non Fiction", and The Wolf of the Mountains by Major Nestor Garcia has hit the 6th position has a best seller. This was a world wide survey...

The government is deeply concerned about this, not to mention the Neo-Septembrist and Republicans... The reasons are simple. General António Busco, was a Military Attache during the August Cathastrophe. In Portusgalia he is regarded an expert in "modern" warfare, and a man who has the "know how" about the newest tactics and military achievments. The book is cruel, and has no mercy in the critics towards the Portusgalian military personnel. He doesn't attack the military trainning, in fact he considers the common portusgalian soldier very above average in trainning, but the lack of means and the very old and outdated material. Other problem to the government, isn't just the critics of Busco, but the examples given by him in his book, examples those who are very accurate and enlightening for the reader. Even a common reader can understand what Busco is seeking on his explanation of the state of the armed forces in Portusgalia. The only point that Busco strongly welcomes is the Navy, it only criticises the abscence of carriers. The airforce he considers it the "National Shame", and regards it more has the "army private airlines" rather then an airforce. The government is now ashamed, because the world knows... He'll have to open the purse strings, in order for reforms in the military equipment, since the portusgalians are great readers of the [IPH] International Publishing House. Other fear of the government is that other governments know this portusgalian weakness and strike back, specially Carentannia, a country that is regarded by the government has a "viral state".

The other book is the The Wolf of the Mountains, a laudatory work on Integralism is always frowned upon by the Neo-Septembrist Regime. They do not like the victimization done by Major Nestor Garcia, and consider it prone to excuse Integralism in portusgalian society.

The Cardinal Deodato Álvarez Martínez S.J., Cardinal-Archbishop Emeritus of Punto Negro (Puántenuá), is by far the "hero" of the arch-traditionalist clerics of Portusgalia. While the Patriarch D. José Carpa is very frown upon, and regarded almost has an heretic, the government is very concerned about a victory of Cardinal Deodato. A major victory of this arch-traditionalist may ventilate the Integralist Cause, and probably D. Duarte will have a "blessing" from the Pope to become King of Portusgalia.
Several talks are being made within the government, and the Queen is aware of this. The government knows that there are two major forces fighting within the halls of Saint Peter, the Arch-Traditionalist and the Ultra-Progressives. And both sides have the possibility to win a Pope. In case of winning Cardinal Deodato, the government is considering to close relations with the Holy See of Tiburtina, if She attacks the government policies, and give support to the Integralists.

The Integralists in religious field are very dangerous, since they have a major stronghold in there. From monks to Archbishops thousands stand by the side of Integralism. In fact Integralism is almost all based on Traditionalist Tiburtine Catholic lessons. Many integralists regard their selves has "Soldiers/Servents of God", being ferocious Popists and Tiburtine Catholics.

Besides all international political tensions between "Capitalists and Socialists", with Portusgalia naturally agreeing with the "Capitalist" side, the country still off-shore of all conflicts. Marshal Côrte-Real, is forcing the neutrality of Portusgalia. Portusgalia is supporting Republicans in Yujin in a shy way. More support wasn't given yet due to the Orient Company influence in the corridors of power. The Orient Company has important business in Sikandara and Sixia, and knows very well if this countries get mad with Portusgalia, profit is at stake. The Company is delaying when ever it cans the negotiations. They rather prefer to support Sikandara in their efforts to sustain the power of the Imperialists, if there was some chance of opening to the Portusgalian trade in Yujin. They know the old Imperialists duffs, and know they have a kind of "Westernfobia", and is hard to negociate with them. But with Sikandara there is no major problem. The "Sixian Scheme" is bit hard, since the Company imports goods from Yujin via Sixia. There intermediaries, and that increases prices, although the war climate helps a bit lowering the prices.
In the view of Otacilio Meireles, the CEO of the Orient Company, the government should be supporting the Portusgalian economics and interests in Touyou, and not investing in "ideology expansion and in a already condemned side". In the other side, the Company moves contacts in order get something, specially if by the hand of Sikandara, since they have good relations with the Imperialist side.

In politics, the business is different. Many younger Neo-Septembrist find foolish the almost cold shoulder towards Great Engellex, and criticize the government of Côrte-Real for their lack of strategic view. In their opinion, Great Engellex is in fact the true Power in Europe, and a friendly country that shouldn't be so neglected by the portusgalian foreign policy. They criticize for example the alliance with Ionia, not by the alliance by it self, but by the importance given to it by the government, since they don't consider it "so much strategic" has the one proposed by Dulwich. One of the major concerns of this young Neo-Septembrist is the security of Himyar provinces, and the future of Portusgalia has a nation. Since the arrest of Ávila, the government is very confident in the true power of the State within Portusgalia... It is a fact conflicts are over, but since D. Duarte is still living in Danmark, exiled from Portugal, with all the political turmoil inside the Commonwealth, he probably is free by now since the old agreement with the previous Dansk government seems to be over.
By his own side, Marshal Côrte-Real considers this young neo-septembrist opinions has "a conservative heresy".
