New Serenity| The National Capital, Suppreme Union of Eden:

 Yesterday marked the end of the fourth, and final session of the Grand Council of Eden. With the council in session for two weeks every third month, a number of items were taken up by the various Prefects, the leaders of the seven states of Eden. Although no laws were passed, permission was granted to the Eden National Natural Gas (ENNG), the country’s biggest supplier of natural gas, to begin utilizing new techniques by blasting hydraulic into the shale surrounding our cities’ watersheds. There was also permission to begin seeking foreign partners in constructing undersea new natural gas pipelines to foreign countries. Wazistan, Mayland, Guina, Austurland, Aquitania, and the Confederate States are believed to be expected targets of these new pipelines.

Also under consideration was potentially lowering import taxes and creating corporate tax incentives to bring more foreign countries and industries into Eden. As the Grand Council is tasked with national fiscal policy it would be up to them to proceed with such economically friendly meetings. In the end it was decided that Foreign Executor Ansem Rahl will consult with foreign countries and seek their advice and input on what would attract their national industries to Eden, “I intend to converse with my counterparts across Europe. I see no reason not to move forward with this sound, economic policy. Who wouldn’t want to bring their business to Eden? These measures, with modification after international consultation will further entice foreign investors and companies to bring their goods to Eden. I have no doubt there will be people cutting in line to catch the first boat, to our wonderful little heaven on Earth.”

 Radical Christian zealots attempted to burn down a plantation of rubber trees owned by Eden Rubber International (ERI) in the southern state of Valoria. The religious fanatics blame the powerful rubber industry for spreading the concept of safe sex due to the use of latex in condoms. They were apprehended quickly and swore eternal damnation of the, “Rubber industry, Eden and sinners worldwide.” The terrorists seem to be a part of the underground Eden cult known as the “Ironmenm” who pray and congregate in white robes and done iron masks. They are a primarily urban terrorist group and they idolize a King chess piece. It’s not clear why.

 The Foreign Executor’s office refused to rule out rumors that Eden will campaign for a seat on the Council of Nations’ security council if no candidate espouses the virtues of absolute national sovereignty. The Foreign Executor, when reached for a comment only said, “We need representatives of absolute national sovereignty. A nation has the right to determine which laws to follow and abide by and that needs to be the law of the land. Plain and simple.”

Rus Energy

Rus Energy is interested in the possibility of a joint venture to exploit Eden's natural gas reserves and would like to inquire about the proposed terms. We have extensive experience in all areas of natural gas extraction, processing and shipment and are fully backed by the Commandery.

Hereby, we offer to have a portion of the gas pipelines laid through the Levant, we are in the relative vicinity and we are a stable and diplomatically reliable and neutral country. Considering our excellent facilities at both Barca and Edesa, we would imagine that gas pipelines would reach to these cities, from where tankers can leave for these countries, only having to go through a relatively short journey, while construction on these pipelines continue.
