The Palais des Libertés, at the core of Nouvelle-Ville, the city of Fleuroix administration and democracy, have been built in the 1950’s, and more recently modernised to have the full comfort of today’s modernism, while remaining with as this architecture have been the pattern, and used widely throughout the city making it the only accepted style, even if dating from centuries ago. Modernised, refined, it was the answer to the Republic’s new identity after the Great War, in the foundation of this city which shall set a new era, and today, it stood to receive four other nations in what would probably be a determinant factors in the coming years for local geopolitics.

Cars, were to arrive one by one, as in the Main Court was standing M.A.D.C. Richard, on the red carpet leading inside, with on the side many journalist eager to accomplish their job. Prior to that, the heavy door that was closing the Main Court was open, with two Gardes from either side presenting their Sabre, as outside a full Regiment was also showing honours to the coming Ministers. Now alone, Richard would welcome one by one each of his four (4) so awaited guests, before talks would first start.

Schlabrendorff was back into the grind of minister level conferences and such, flying around Europe to meet his counterparts. Given Elben's location beyond Gunnland, tucked in between Crotobaltislavonia and Kadikistan, the count wasn't sure yet what Elben would contribute to whatever was proposed. Its connections with Gunnland were more than adequate for its current trade needs and Elben wasn't interested in open borders or a free trade zone.

The car came to a halt and the door opened. Schlabrendorff got out, trailed by his faithful interpreter whom he didn't really need, but perceived language barriers were always useful.

Eiffelland-Retalia did see the need to cooperate with other countries. It also saw the need of stimulating trade. With "a threat of Kadikistani soaks in the east and a threat of a paranoid and megalomaniac madwoman with a sadistic personality disorder in the west", like one of the generals phrased it, the country had to find friends. So Julia Leverkühn came to Nouvelle-Ville. She didn't need an interpreter, either, because she spoke Engellish, Italian and French very well. In an Eiffellandian-built from the embassy, she arrived at the Palais des Libertés. She stepped out of the car and walked into the palace.

It was the second time that a representative of the government of the grand duchy was invited to a summit in the neighboring republic of Fleur. This time, to contain the expenses and because it would be his second trip to the neighboring state of Fleur, the Minister of Economy was sent to preside over the summit representing the Grand Duchy.

Folco Cuneo had arrived at the conference on a black sedan of foreign production, the cars mass industry was absent in Lars if not for sportive car, luxury and electric cars.

For some time, one of Gunnland's leading foreign-policy objectives was to secure access to southern markets for Gunnish coal and agricultural products. Transporting goods through Crotobaltislavonia was far from ideal. Improved rail connections, cutting through customs inspections, bringing down tariff barriers. This is what Stephen Gunn Larkin thought about all day. Well, what he thought about now that the war was over, and since the foreign secretary had won a royal appointment and would not need to run an election campaign for his Thing seat. Electioneering was not his strong suit. He was a very small man of slight stature, soft-spoken with a very bad speech impediment.

Since Windhaven had no commercial airport and because Stephen was terrified of helicopters, it had been a long trip by train to Îls-des-Pins and then Visislava, where he detrained for a pair of 15AR agents to drive him to Nouvelle-Ville.

When he stepped out of the backseat of the black EKW E8 with tinted windows, he was barely tall enough to see over the top of the car. Nice shack.

Minister Leverkühn was happy to see the Ministers from Elben, Gunnland, Lars and the République Fleuroise. Indeed, a trade route from North to South was needed in Gallo-Germania. Now was the chance to create such a line.

She realised that she represented by far the largest country of them all. However, she also realised that it was of utmost importance for her not to determine the agenda. This meeting was M.A.D.C. Richard's moment, so she would make sure that he would get the role of Primus inter pares. The République Fleuroise would lead, Eiffelland-Retalia would follow. That would be the best way to show that Eiffelland-Retalia did not form a threat to other countries.

First would appear Schlabrendorff, from Elben. Known to have a vast border with the K.U. and CBS, Richard could only have sympathy with those knowing how hard and borderline some situations, with their neighbours, may appear. Developing infrastructures in parallel to more occidental society would probably be beneficial for them, having their vast exports spreading throughout Europe most likely. « Bienvenue » would exclaim Richard, as Schlabrendorff would move out of his car as his door was opened by a Garde Républicain, and walk on the red carpet in the Welcoming Court. On the left side of the red carpet, a full regiment saluting would be present, while on the right, a mess of journalists and news reporters would stand. Shacking hands, while looking in the direction of the journalist, with great smiles, Richard would invite his first guest to move inside the Palais as he’d be welcomed by escorts offering comfortable seats and drinks while other guests were to arrive.

Still standing, Richard would welcome this time the representative of the newly formed Eiffelland-Retalia to arrive in a typical Eiffellandian-built car. This meeting had seriously challenges ahead, given the impartial line of conduct Richard thrown on the floor as Fleuroix’ foreign policy, while seeing interest in developing further ties with any party on economical aspects. « Bienvenue Madame » would greet Richard, as he’d take the Lady’s hand, and bow almost as if he was to kiss it, before making an handshake for the journalists. « After you » would invite Richard as he prepared himself to welcome the next guest.

This time, someone which he already had relations with, following the agreement over a bilateral Treaty, Richard would be pleased to meet again on other terms this time, Minister Cuneo from Lars. « Buongiorno, come stai ? » he’d try to ask, as he’d exchange a few formalities with the man during his handshake, for the pleasure of the journalists reporting. Even if train liaisons were already planned and budgets were decided with Lars, making this Fleur-Lars core be part of a larger agreement was key in Richard’s mind. « I shall join you soon » would end Richard, as he invited his 3rd guest to enter also in the Palais.

Last but not least, representative Windhaven from Gunnland, which had a strategic importance in Fleur’s eyes, given their vast agricultural industry which would take a large portion of Fleuroix’ imports. « Bienvenue » he’d greet the man, « I hope you had a fortunate travel » would pursue Richard, as both shakes hands for the cameras, and after a while, would move towards the interior together as it was the last of the guests Richard had to welcome.

Once moving inside, rejoining the other representatives, Richard would be pleased to see them enjoying the great and large salon, as refreshment and typical Fleuroix pastries were proposed as a way to relieve the stomach of the guests following their travel. After a few minutes passing, exchanging formalities, Richard would break the atmosphere as he willingly wanted to move forward on the matter they were all invited for after all. « Lady and Gentlemen, allow me to invite you to begin our more formal discussions » he expressed with a smile. As they would pass the great Palais’ doors, to move from one piece to another, knowing that this piece of architecture respected the old tradition of having no corridors, offering splendid view on the furnitures and chandeliers, while permitting to directly view the wide garden at the exterior, before finally arriving in a square room, which hosted at its center a large round table, as it was on the corner of the building allowing half of the “walls” to be windows, flooding of day’s light the room, as the ceiling was magnificently decored, illustrating some of the Greek Antiquity’s greatest histories as the Olympus was shown in the centre. The 5 chairs had a perfect and exact space between them, and sets to take notes along an electronic device were placed in front of those, along headphones. « Please take a seat » would invite Richard, as his voice would resonate given how large and high the room was.

Chairs were very comfortable, and respecting the classicist standard. From a hand gesture, Richard would dismiss the two guards which kept the entry, and the high doors would be closed, letting the 5 representatives in the greatest of intimacy. Quickly enough, on the electronic tablet would be found an application to, if wished, order some refreshment or food from the Bar. But now was the time to move on, as Richard would invite the various guests to put their headphones on if they wished so, as it was expected representatives would speak in their respectable languages per default. For his part, Richard would continue in French, as it’d be translated into the various languages, « Madame et Messieurs, thank you for joining me in this meeting that shall be a defining moment for our cooperation to come. Effectively the ideal of an inter-connected continent, from the South to the North, is a pleasant one, and I am eager to study this case scenario with you » would start off Richard. « The construction and execution on a daily basis of a train network, going from Eiffelland-Retalia to Elben, while passing through Lars, Fleur and Gunnland ask some dispositions, such as the facilities for customs and Visas most importantly. I wish to know if your respective nations are open for us to address those matters? Otherwise making a train network less efficient then possible, and anticipated » he asked openly, as he wanted to facilitate transportation for individuals.

Minister Leverkühn didn't put in the headphones. She was fluent in Italian, French and Engellish. Not even Gunnish Engellish was a problem to her. It was one of the reasons why she had been chosen as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

"I do see the benefits of a daily train connection between our five nations. Of course this has to become a high-speed connection. We are prepared to cooperate in making the customs procedures easier in order to make this happen. Abolishing the necessity of visas for travelling between our five countries is a possibility to us as well."
