The Jacaranda Cup
Organised by the Rugby Union of Natalia
sponsored by Jacaranda Airlines
a subsidiary of The Central Himyari Airways

The annual rugby tournament, the prestigious Jacaranda Cup is soon to begin. The worlds greatest rugby clubs from around the world have qualified and will enter into a knockout tournament until one club stands to take home the Jacaranda Cup. This competition will begin soon and will be hosted within the Federation of the Natal.

OOC: The Aodh Mor Cup was a big thing in 2013, so I would say that it could be brought back. The Rugby Tournament in the same system as the Heineken Cup. Anybody can enter as many clubs as they wish (Probably around 3-4, depending on your nations population you could have more or less) and these clubs would have qualified by typically winning their own national league/tournament.

How will the games be played? It'll work on a random number generator for fairness, but I haven't worked out how detailed I want it to be (Probably quite detailed).
I'll post the results in this thread (along with any in game information I might have). So enjoy all the sweet rugby action I hope to bring.

Submissions from the Pelasgian Rugby Federation
Herakles Therme (winner of the Pelasgian Rugby Cup)
Asteras Iolcus (second best team of the Cup)
Vasilikos Propontis (third best team of the Cup)

Rugby largely lacks much formal and informal recognition in Pelasgia, and the teams aren't particularly well-known, funded, or equipped. Most players are locals of their city who like to play rugby in their private time (i.e. no professional players). Only the champion, Herakles, has a sponsor, in the form of a local alcohol brand of retsina (Chrysoula A.E.).

General rules in the group stage:
1. There will be 6 matches per pool. Each team will play with each other.
2. Each win will be awarded 3 points and each draw will be awarded 1.
3. The club with the most points from each pool will proceed to the knockout phase.

I know I may be butchering the rugby setup with this, but I know my football (soccer) rules in cups and championships better than the rugby ones.

So for the matches themselves:
Coin Flip to decide which team starts:

Team that wins coin flip enters Stage 1 with ball.

1. Run with ball:
Roll die.
1-2 opposition gains the ball (and enters Stage 1 with ball)
3-4 enter scrum
5-6 roll for try

2. If SCRUM is entered:
Roll die
1-3 opposition gains the ball
4-6 ball is maintained return to step 1.

3 [a]. If team achieves roll for TRY:
Roll die.
1-2 fail
3-6 TRY achieved +4 points

3 . NOTE: if a 2 roll is achieved re-roll.
5-6 becomes a ''Drop Goal'' +1 points.

4. If a TRY is achieved:
roll 1 die for conversion.
1-3 fail
4-6 conversion achieved +2 points

Team that scored TRY or drop kick, opposition enters phase 1 with ball.

15 total runs are made per ''match''.

I decided to sue the same match randomised rules as the Aodh Mor cup, so cheers to Paddy, who came up with them.

Jacaranda Cup Group Matches - Phase 1

Group 1
Sat. 20th of October, Anthony Stone Stadium, Harton, Afternoon.

Jugol Lions Vs Vasilikos Propontis
Score: 20 - 22 Scrums: 10.
Notes: A very intense opening match. In the first half, Vasilikos dominated the Lions, managing to score 10 points without receiving any and dominating the Jugol Lions. In the second half, the match got intense, with what might have been a great comeback, the Lions managing a score of up to 20-14, six points over the Pelasgians. As the time was closing in, the match got even more intense but the Pelsagians managed to finally raise the score to 22 points, thus cementing their first victory.

Sat. 20th of October, Anthony Stone Stadium, Harton, Evening.
Foxborough Monarchs Vs La Palma Lions
Score: 32 - 20 Scrums: 11.
Notes: The Foxborough Monarchs have dominated the game against the La Palma Lions. In the second half, the Lions tried to make a comeback, but still they didn't manage to take the lead. The match got much more intense in the second half, but the lack of focus on the Aurarian side in the first half really took its toll.

Group 2
Sun. 21th of October, Anthony Stone Stadium, Harton, Afternoon.

Ashhall Caustics Vs District Jacturus
Score: 20 - 20 Scrums: 5.
Notes: A very aggressive first match between teams from the Engelosphere. The Caustics managed to dominate in the first half with a series of successful tries, while Jacturus was lagging behind. In the second half, the match was much more evenly tied, with most of the scrums being seen then. Jacturus managed to raise from a difference of up to 10 points and managed to score the equaliser right a few seconds before the end of the match.

Sun. 21th of October, Anthony Stone Stadium, Harton, Evening.
Newport Gators Vs Marian-Windhaven Foxes XV

Score: 18 - 14 Scrums: 11.
Notes: An interesting match between two teams that can be describes mostly as defensive. The ball was really slippery in this one as was was a continuous back and forth between the Foxes and the Gators. In the first half, the Gators were leading, but by the closing time of the second half, Marian managed to equalise, only for the Gators to score the victory points right at the end.

Group 3
Sat. 20th of October, Herald Stadium, Blackmere, Afternoon

Blackmere Crocs Vs Rigustad #217 Port Union
Score: 16 - 8 Scrums: 7.
Notes: The Blackmere Crocs dominated their adversaries during the whole match, managing to end the first half of the game with a score of 8-2, after the Port Union managed to get a drop goal. In the Second half, the Port Union tried to catch the Crocs and seemed to get the better of them in a series of scrums, but two failed tries sealed their fate.

Sat. 20th of October, Herald Stadium, Blackmere, Evening
The Charleroi Watchmen Vs Jamesboro Billbucks
Score: 16 - 24 Scrums: 3.
Notes: A very aggressive game where the Jamesboro Billbucks have shown that they are actually really capable of winning this cup as they proved to be everywhere on the field, always managing to stop the attacks of the Watchmen, while also playing extremely aggressive. By the half time, the score was 16-4 for the Billbucks, only to rise to 28-16 by the end of the match.

Group 4
Sun. 21st of October, Herald Stadium, Blackmere, Afternoon

Whitemere All-Whites Vs The Tauritania Fighters
Score: 12 - 12 Scrums: 13.
Notes: A very intense and violent game, with a staggering number of 13 scrums. Both teams have shown that they are very good, but the match was interrupted by the intervention of the Civil Protection into the stadium to calm the ultra supporters of both teams. The second half started with a delay of an hour because of this. The fighters managed to take the lead, only to be overtaken, and right before the last whistle, they manage to equalise with a drop goal.

Sun. 21st of October, Herald Stadium, Blackmere, Evening
6th Guard Tankers Vs Oriel Sables
Score: 24 - 8 Scrums: 3.
Notes: A nearly one sided match in which the 6th Guard Tankers have dominated the field and overwhelmed the defences of the Sables. In the second half, who attacks were victorious against the Tanker defensive, but the Gunnmen lost momentum.

Group 5
Sat. 20th of October, Meadow Park, Parow, Afternoon

Twin Echo Snapping Turtles Vs The Goobad Giraffes
Score: 20 - 10 Scrums: 4.
Notes: The match started with the Giraffes scoring two times against the Snapping Turtles, but their luck quickly turned. In the second half, the Snapping turtles dominated the match providing a powerful defence.

Sat. 20th of October, Meadow Park, Parow, Evening
Ivar Red Stars Vs L'Île-des-Pins Reivers
Score: 20-22 Scrums: 7.
Notes: A very close match, between the Kadikistani and Gunnish team. The match started with the red stars scoring in the fist seconds of the game, but they were very quickly equalised by the Reivers. Up until the end of the match a trend in which the Kadikistani scored and the Gunnish equalised has developed, but it was broken right at the end, when the Gunns managed to score the last 2 points by sheer luck through a drop goal.

Group 6
Sat. 20th of October, Eclipse Stadium, Mzuzu, Afternoon

Rurikgrad Dockers Vs The Baldwin-Whitehall Scrappers
Score: 20 - 20 Scrums: 9.
Notes: A very tense game between two very good teams. The game began with the lead of Baldwin Scrappers, but by the time of the second half, the Rurikgrad Dockers have equalised. In the first part of the second half, the Dockers took the lead, but in the last moments, the Scrappers managed to score the equalising points..

Sat. 20th of October, Eclipse Stadium, Mzuzu, Evening
Asteras Iolcus Vs The Elephantines
Score: 12-18 Scrums: 5.
Notes: With two tries, both with conversion, Asteras Iolcus took a comfortable lead in the first half of 12-0. What followed was a pure game of comeback, but 3 successful tries by the Engellexic team, only to manage a try with conversion at the end of the game, cementing their victory.

Group 7
Sun. 21st of October, Meadow Park, Parow, Afternoon

Solis Knights Vs Vesper Metropolitans
Score: 18 - 12 Scrums: 5.
Notes: The Knights managed to dominate the metropolitans for most of the game. By the end of the first half, the score was 12-2 in favour of the knights. While in the second half, the Metropolitans pushed hard to equalise, it was too little, too late.

Sun. 21st of October, Meadow Park, Parow, Evening
Tegaloo Razorbacks Vs Herakles Therme
Score: 24 - 6 Scrums: 8.
Notes: Another mainly one sided match in which the Tegaloo Razorbacks dominated the game with their aggressive play style, while Herakles tried to concentrate on the defence. In the first half, Herakles managed to keep its composure, but the scoring of two conversion kicks at the end of the half by the Razorbacks completely demoralised Herakles. In their second half, they lost their focus and defences, even if at the end they managed to score two more points through a drop goal.

Group 8
Sun. 21st of October, Eclipse Stadium, Mzuzu, Afternoon

The Hodon Baboons Vs Domuva #316 Plumber's Union
Score: 18-14 Scrums: 7.
Notes: A match of even teams. None seemed to manage to best the other in the first half, only for the Azraqi to manage to take the lead at the beginning of the second half. What followed was attempt after attempts of the Plumber's Union to break the Azraqi defence, only to fail.

Sun. 21st of October, Eclipse Stadium, Mzuzu, Evening

Harton Oryxes Vs Liberty Hammers
Score: 26 - 20 Scrums: 6.
Notes: A very tense and evenly game in the first half. Scrums after scrums and the ball going to and fro characterised the first half. Pure luck saved the Natalians as in the second half they managed to score a drop goal, which made the Engellexians to start a savage attack against the Natalian defences. The scoring of a cry with conversion cemented the Oryxes' victory.

Jacaranda Cup Group Matches - Phase 2

Group 1
Sat. 27th of October, Anthony Stone Stadium, Harton, Afternoon.

Jugol Lions Vs Foxborough Monarchs
Score: 14 - 6 Scrums: 4.
Notes: The match began with the very aggressive Monarchs dominating the field and not giving the Lions any chance, but they have wasted three opportunities to score. In a single moment at the end of the first half, the Jugol Lions managed to have a successful try with conversion, making the score 6-2. In the second half, the Monarchs tried to equalise, but they got demoralised as the Lions managed to take the lead again, ending the match with an 8 point difference.

Sat. 27th of October, Anthony Stone Stadium, Harton, Evening.
Vasilikos Propontis Vs La Palma Lions
Score: 18 - 2 Scrums: 7.
Notes: A match very much decided in the first half, with an extremely very lucky 3 tries with conversions, in the first part of the game. The Aurarians were demoralised and the Pelasgians started to play on the defensive in the second half.

Group 2
Sun. 28th of October, Anthony Stone Stadium, Harton, Afternoon.

Ashhall Caustics Vs Newport Gators
Score: 20 - 10 Scrums: 4.
Notes: A match where the Caustics had the initiative the whole game, with the Gators coming from behind, managing to score and equaliser at the end of the first half. A successful try with conversion at the beginning of the second half, gave the Caustics a strong lead, followed by another successful try, thus cementing their victory.

Sun. 28th of October, Anthony Stone Stadium, Harton, Evening.
District Jacturus Vs Marian-Windhaven Foxes XV
Score: 22 - 18 Scrums: 6.
Notes: An intense match which started with the aggressive Foxes giving no chance to Jacturus. What some might call a dream comeback, or some as the Harton Miracle, District Jacturus managed to focus and go on offensive, playing a very aggressive game, where the ball was immediately slipping back to their hands after the Gunnmen were taking in. In the end, a successful try with conversion marked the Engellexic victory.

Group 3
Sat. 27th of October, Herald Stadium, Blackmere, Afternoon

Blackmere Crocs Vs Charleroi Watchmen
Score: 18 - 18 Scrums: 10.
Notes: An intense match between two good and offensive and aggressive teams. The Sylvanians managed to gain the lead in the first half, but in the second, the Natalians took the score up to 14-12. Another successful try for the Natalians marked what might have been the victory, if not for a successful try with conversion of the Sylvanians, which brought a draw in the end.

Sat. 27th of October, Herald Stadium, Blackmere, Evening
Rigustad #217 Port Union Vs Jamesboro Billbucks
Score: 14 - 8 Scrums: 3.
Notes: A match of surprises and wasted chances. The Port Union took the lead early in the game, only for the Billbucks to equalise and take the lead in the second half. What followed was a tragedy for the Cussians as they wasted so many opportunities for tries, while the Port Union took its time to score, defeating the Billbucks.

Group 4
Sun. 21st of October, Herald Stadium, Blackmere, Afternoon

Whitemere All-Whites Vs 6th Guard Tankers
Score: 20 - 16 Scrums: 7.
Notes: An intense game, between two very aggressive teams. The score was tight up to the end, with the final successful try for the Cussians being done in the last seconds, thus leading them to victory.

Sun. 21st of October, Herald Stadium, Blackmere, Evening
The Tauritania Fighters Vs Oriel Sables
Score: 20 - 14 Scrums: 5.
Notes: A match between an offensive team and a very defensive one. In the first half, the Sables managed to hold off the Aurarian attacks, but in the second half, both teams moved on the offence and the Gunns have wasted two great opportunities, leading to an Aurarian victory.

Group 5
Sat. 27th of October, Meadow Park, Parow, Afternoon

Twin Echo Snapping Turtles Vs Ivar Red Stars
Score: 16 - 16 Scrums: 9.
Notes: An intense match between two even teams. Each of them decided to attempt tries as fast as possible as they got the ball. A successful try with conversion from the Red Stars tipped the balance in favour of the Kadikistanis, but a drop goal from the Sylvanians brought the equaliser and a draw.

Sat. 27th of October, Meadow Park, Parow, Evening
The Goobad Giraffes Vs L'Île-des-Pins Reivers
Score: 4-22 Scrums: 7.
Notes: A completely one sided match, where the Reivers managed to keep the momentum for the whole match, leaving the Giraffes confused and unfocused. In the second half, the Giraffes has up to four failed opportunities to score but they wasted them all.

Group 6
Sat. 27th of October, Eclipse Stadium, Mzuzu, Afternoon

Rurikgrad Dockers Vs Asteras Iolcus
Score: 18 - 6 Scrums: 4.
Notes: A game in which the Dockers managed to have three successful tries with conversion, giving them 18 points only in the first half. The Pelasgians tried to do as much as possible to equalise, but the Kadikistani went on the defence and thus only one try and a drop goal is what the Pelasgians managed to do until the final whistle.

Sat. 27th of October, Eclipse Stadium, Mzuzu, Evening
The Baldwin-Whitehall Scrappers Vs The Elephantines
Score: 16-16 Scrums: 8.
Notes: A tied and aggressive match. The Scrappers opened the game with a try with conversion in the first seconds, only to be followed by another one, this time from the Elephantines, giving you a score of 6-6 by the end of the 1st half. In the 2nd half, the teams played much more aggressively, with 6 scrums being achieved only in this half. At the end of the game, neither team managed to break the tie, ending the match in a draw.

Group 7
Sun. 28st of October, Meadow Park, Parow, Afternoon

Solis Knights Vs Tegaloo Razorbacks
Score: 20 - 12 Scrums: 8.
Notes: A very surprising game in which the Tegaloo Razorbacks have dominated the match for the whole first half and much of the second half. Pure luck has saved the Aurarians as in the last moments they managed two successful tries with conversion, thus managing to win the game.

Sun. 28st of October, Meadow Park, Parow, Evening
Vesper Metropolitans Vs Herakles Therme
Score: 24 - 0 Scrums: 8.
Notes: A one sided match in which the Vesper Metropolitans gave the Pelasgians to chances to come in offensive, but also managed to overwhelm their defences. After a first half in which the Herakles' defences were still up and running, two tries with conversion from the Metropolitans shattered them in the second half. They were followed by two more such successful tries.

Group 8
Sun. 28st of October, Eclipse Stadium, Mzuzu, Afternoon

The Hodon Baboons Vs Harton Oryxes
Score: 14-16 Scrums: 7.
Notes: A very even match between those two teams. The Oryxes began the match in offence, with a successful drop goal, but for most of the match, the majority of the attacks were shattered by the Baboons' offensive. The equalising score was given by the Azraqi in the middle of the second half, but a last minute drop goal for the Oryxes saved their victory.

Sun. 28st of October, Eclipse Stadium, Mzuzu, Evening

Domuva #316 Plumber's Union Vs Liberty Hammers
Score: 14 - 22 Scrums: 10.
Notes: The Plumber's union started the match aggressively, with a successful conversion goal, but by the end of the first half, the Liberty Hammers managed to take the lead with two goals, both which achieved conversion. In the second half, the Plumber's Union managed again to take the lead, but the last whistle they were 8 points behind.
