Saro Province - Frontline

Upon the completion of the first phase of Operation: Marrow, the commanders of the two regiments had decided to shore up the defensive perimeter and to allow their troops a slight breather before continuing onward with the assault. The news of an additional regiment arriving in Adsubia by the 11th of March had also allowed the two regiment commanders to feel that the push would be better achieved with a firmer footing in Saro. Trenches and pillboxes had been dug into the terrain and a proper defensive line had been hastily set up with the robust efforts of the Communist soldiers. The territory which had been conquered by the red banners of the revolution had many villages and settlements which stood shaken by the suddenness of the Serenien charge. To calm them and win over their hearts, the two colonels, in their respective quadrants, had distributed foodstuffs and supplies to these communities.

For the second phase, it had been decided to focus on the push to the east, which would allow for a shorter access point from Serenien shores. The western flank was to be entrenched deeply in the newly constructed defensive positions and the radical push was to be made in the eastern direction. The heavy guns from all three regiments would be placed in a way to break the BNA's lines in that eastern direction. The heaviest of assaults on the selected locations would allow the Revolutionary Guardsmen and their fellow communist allies the opportunity to encircle those point and then create a gap big enough to break the line. Only when the enemy's positions there were broken and that advance guaranteed, would the western flank commence an assault to push them further back - even if only by a bit.

The strategy was premised on the basis that given the lack of any important city in the eastern direction of Phase 2, the defensive lines that the BNA was taking advantage of were weaker here than the head-on assault into Saro, itself, which of course would open the road to the cities of Treviso and Valera. The main thing that the Revolutionary Guardsmen were aiming for was to reach the coast. Then they could shorten their supply lines and continue onward to the bloodier battles that lay ahead in Treviso and Valera.

The residence of the Generalissimo was the ancient fortress at the heart of the city. The very heart of power in the People's Republic. Philippe Serazin sat in his private study reading some of the latest reports from Borovanger. The reports detailed the advances that had been made and the strategy being adopted by his two brave colonels. He had already decided that upon completion of Operation Marrow, the two commanders would be awarded the Medal of Merit, 2nd Class, for their brilliant execution of the plan. But despite the successes of the Revolutionary Guards, he had been mulling over the idea of a direct Serenien military involvement. He knew that while defeating the Saro based Borovanger National Army would be easy enough, the fight against the Prometheists and the ever aggressive fascists in the northern front of Borovanger would be quite the struggle. But, of course, he had wider concerns to think of. He knew he had to play his cards right. Perhaps, he would listen to Elisabeth Martinique's suggestion. He still had not made up his mind. Much depended on the successes of the Revolutionary Guards.

He was thoughtful. He hesitated before picking up the phone and dialling the number of General Delacourt's private residence. "General, it's me." There was no need to say anything else. Everyone recognized that voice.

"Comrade Chairman, it is my honour to receive your call."

"I am reading the report from the boys over there in Saro. Good stuff. So, has the 71st Regiment arrived?"

"Yes, Comrade Chairman, it has arrived today and will be in position by next week."

"And how many more regiments do you have on hand Comrade General?" Serazin asked him. He could tell that Delacourt had stopped short of what he was about to say.

"Uh, I believe," he stuttered for a second, trying to remember, "I would say maybe four more regiments, excluding the three already in Borovanger and the fourteen engaged in domestic deployments."

"I want you to prepare all four of those regiments. When our boys break through the BNA's lines, I want them ready to deploy immediately. I will talk it over with Chief Commissar Martinique, but I need you to prepare those four regiments under the most urgent of basis. How many men would that be?"

"For the four additional regiments? Uh, I would say 16,000."

"Hmm, we'd need to have the Propaganda Commissariat amp up the noise on encouraging volunteers and raising hysteria against the Borovanger fascists and royalist scum to justify that kind of volunteer involvement. We are on 12,000 already, no?"

"Yes, Comrade Chairman."

Philippe was quiet for a moment. Before continuing, "Irrespective of these political considerations, I expect you to proceed as a soldier under my direct command."

"Yes, sir, comrade-chairman I will do my utmost to have them ready."

"Good." Philippe hung up the phone and called another number.

Headquarters - Directorate 44
Villesen

The red phone in the office of the Directorate's chief was connected only to three other phones; the Generalissimo Serazin, Chief Commissar Martinique, and the Chairman of the Commissariat for People's Deputies. It was never ignored. And that afternoon was the same. It had been the leader of the revolution, Phillippe Serazin calling the chief to enquire about the intelligence agency's latest information about enemy positions in Saro. The agents of the Directorate 44 had been successful in creating a well developed network of spies and informants across the war torn country - albeit at a high cost in terms of money and the lives of some of its more indiscreet agents. The Directorate chief had informed him of the latest sweeps of high altitude reconaissance operations conducted by the jets of the agency over Saro Province and of naval patrols by other means. Serenierre's hawk-like gaze was upon Saro.

"Sir! The fellow liberating forces have accepted our offer of a grouping near Sala." The officer took the telegram from the young private's hand. He examined it closely, before looking around at the idle Korystian forces talking with each other. The officer closed the telegram, and handed it back to the private. "We will be mobilizing as soon as we can to meet the liberating forces. Talk to headquarters to notify them that we are ready to move out." The private responded with a giddy "Sir yes sir!" before taking off. The officer then stood up and addressed his men. "Men?" The soldiers continued to talk. "SOLDIERS! LISTEN UP!" The talking abruptly drew to a close. "Men, get your equipment ready. We are meeting with the liberating forces. You are to prepare your gear and stand by for orders. Now go, start packing!"

Borovangen National Army Headquarters, Treviso Saro Province.

the BNA had fortified their positions expecting the Red League forces to focus their latest offensive at Treviso, instead the Red Leagues drive into the east of Saro had once again caught the BNA's command by surprise with the eastern part of Saro rapidly falling to the Marxist offensive. the army's high command had not considered the east of Saro to be of much strategic importance, so the fact that it had by the focus of the Red League assault continued to confuse them. However the proposed Sala offensive would hopefully relieve some of the pressure and hopefully halt the Red league and drive them back into Saulot. But there still remained the question of the Prometheists after all if and when the Red League was defeated the Royalist forces would have to fight another protracted campaign to take back the rest of the nation.

With the army finally arriving at Sala they began the siege began preparing for the battle. MGen Leitner went out with a small dispatch of officers and a radioman to meet the commander of the allied forces to hash out a plan on besieging the city.

MGen Leitner: Glad to finally arrive, how's the situation here? Where do we need to strike and how hard? I can transmit the orders to my men at the base camp. He points to the radioman standing nearby and motions for him to come near. So whats the plan?

After getting in contact with Borovanger royalist 10 Undercover Agents left the nation and came back to the Chetnik Empire, while 2 spies that came with them have been left to oversee situation in Borovanger for Chetnik Empire. Much of the time it was Royalist forces winning over the "reds" and "whites". However communist made a great comeback. This was certainly bad, however, 2 Chetnik spies, after analyzing the battles together with few Borovanger officers, they came to conclusion, that enemy started combating the air superiority, and that communist won the intelligence warfare. With all of that in mind, message was sent to the Chetnik Empire.

"We are concerned about our air superiority in the Borovanger, together with enemy's increased intelliegence. We are advising you to contact Borovanger and to offer them help if its needed."

For, dictator of Chetnik Empire and(or) UAC (Undercover Agency of Chetnik Empire).
From, 25512 mission, Borovanger.

Which Dictator later received.

The first air raid was to begin shortly, with the first of the scout planes returning after scouting out Vallespir. The bombers would take off and reach altitude, at which point they will rendezvous with the fighters and upon nearing the city and commence the bombing. The report from the scout planes have revealed there to be small amount of AA batteries located around the city that will cause problems, however the bombers are much faster than they appear. With the skill of the pilots they will be able to drop of their payload and return home with minimal to non existent casualties.

2200

The engines began to sputter to life and launch the bombers forward, Hauptman Adelar Toman radioed to the other pilots to begin takeoff. The planes taxied onto the runway and speed off and up into the night time sky.

Hauptman Toman: Alright guys stay in formation, we should be there in around 45 minutes

45 minutes later

They finally arrived near their target and the bomber pilots began to descend to bombing altitude. As they descended the clouds they were welcomed with a hail of flak. However with a max speed of 440 km/h at 8,500 meters they were able to fly through relatively unharmed, however one of the planes took some minor damage to the tail rudder, they dropped their payload off and ascended above the clouds and above the flak fire. The was hit but not hard, as there were not nearly enough planes to demolish much more than a few blocks in the city and their payload was reduced to maintain a faster speed.

Vallespir, Red League Headquarters.

Acting Battalion Commander Mola surveyed the damage, while parts of the city had been devastated by the Royalist's aerial bombardments it seems that much of city remained untouched by the Royalists, thanks in large part to the those manning the few flak guns that the city had. he nearly jumped out his skin when he felt someone put a hand on his shoulder, he turned around to see a youth of around twelve brandishing a revolver" what the-" but Mola was interrupted by the sharp crack of the revolver and he lay on the ground the boy simply said" Vivo Cristo Rey" and walked away.

Borovanger City, Ministry of Defense.

Field Marshall Jules Blum and his subordinates waited nervously, the First Minister was due any minute now to discuss the war, Valois had grown increasingly frail of late it seemed that the stress of leading a country in war time was becoming too much for the man. But despite this Valois still continued to make public appearances, visiting factories, interviewing soldiers at the front, frankly it was a miracle he hadn't collapsed yet.

Saulot city, Borovanger. Borovangen Peoples Congress.
Congressman Manuel Cabarello spoke" Kadikistan may be our friend but Serenierre is our true ally in the fight against fascism" this drew a mix of applause and boo's from the congress, to many of the congressmen Kadikistan was the paragon of Marxism and any criticism of its regime was tantamount to heresy." If the Congress would allow me to continue, the good people of Kadikistan have been stalwart friends, they are too distant both geographically and culturally to truly be our allies, whereas our shared history with Serenierre makes them an ideal friend and ally for the people of Borovanger". this again brought both jeers of derision from the old guard, while the younger members of Congress cheered.

“Going in there? I consider it quite a messy situation there. Whoever wins there, will achieve a Pyrrhus‑victory according to me,” Chancellor Von Seydewitz said. “The only option for me, is sending humanitary aid. And we will make chrystal clear that that humanitary aid comes from Eiffelland. That is the way to make Eiffelland popular, and with that Eiffellandian products.”

“I understand where you’re coming from, Matthias,” the minister for Defence Claus von Seydewitz said. He used the Chancellor’s first name; all Ministers in the Cabinet did so among each other, although they used the formal Sie instead of Du to adress each other. “However, I think there is a reason to go in: Gaining combat experience.”

“What do you think will happen when there are suddenly people with Eiffellandian military signs running around there?” the Chancellor asked. “Or when there are planes with Eiffellandian signs. Or even Eiffellandian-made planes without signs. People will know that we are militarily involved. But apart from that, if we go in, we need to make sure that we choose the right side. Not only in the sense of what kind of government we want in Borovanger, but also in the sense of on which side our allies are standing. Then it could be better to deliver weapons to one of the factions, like we did in Cumbria. But first let’s prepare the humanitary aid. I also propose to setup an airlift of sick children to Eiffellandian hospitals. Both from Borovanger and from Cumbria.”

“Are we going to militarily involve ourselves as well?” Clausewitz asked.

“No,” Von Seydewitz said. “Neither in Borovanger, nor in Cumbria. But I don’t have any problems with delivering weapons, planes and ammunition to the right faction in Borovanger, and more planes to the White Army in Cumbria. By the way, talking about Cumbria, maybe we could sell the Emden, Warnemünde and Wetzlar to the White Army? And do we still have some old Panther and Tiger?”

The Emden, Warnemünde and Wetzlar were a cruiser and two destroyers. They were decommissioned in favour of the large aircraft carrier that would be the basis for the Sturmvogel. All three ships were from the beginning of the 1930s, but maybe the Whites could make good use of it.

“We don’t have any spare Panther any more, but next month 50 Tiger will be replaced with 50 Löwen. Where do you want to send them to?” Clausewitz asked.

“Let’s send them to Borovanger,” Von Seydewitz said. “We won’t help the Whites with such heavy tanks. They’ll get stuck in the mud. Please bear in mind that Winter means lots of snow there. If that starts to melt, the water can’t go anywhere, so everything will turn into mud for a month or so. Better send light but fast equipment there. Another patch of Wasserbüffel, for instance. Don’t forget to send some good anti-tank weapons there.”

Propontis, Pelasgia

The Eiffellandians presumed that the Pelasgians would be supporting one of the factions in Borovanger. Like Borovanger was an Eiffellandian interest, it was also a Pelasgian interest. Maybe even more for Pelasgia than for Eiffelland. The Eiffellandian government also knew whom the Pelasgians supported: The Royalist faction. This meant that the Eiffellandians would support the Royalist Faction as well. For starters with 50 tanks and ammunition. Combat rifles and ammunition would follow as well. But first it was needed to contact the Royalists. The Eiffellandians decided to ask the help of the Pelasgians contact the Royalists.

Roman Jaeger was a diplomat in the Eiffellandian embassy in Propontis. He decided to contact one of his contacts in the Pelasgian secret service.

Saro Province - Borovanger

The eastern assault of the Revolutionary Guards had succeeded quite brilliantly. The strategy had thrown the BNA completely off guard and the objective of reaching the coast had been effectively achieved. Fairly quickly, upon achieving that objective, additional units were despatched from Serenierre to establish artificial ports to help facilitate the impending increase of Revolutionary Guards presence in Borovanger. And once that had been achieved, the push through the central regions of the province were enacted - though the advance there had been stalled by the fortifications. And while that had been expected, the casualties had forced the 1st Revolutionary Guards Legion to hold tight. Though they had been successful in achieving moderate gains.

It had been already decided that the additional regiments of the Revolutionary Guards would be deployed in Borovanger. Additionally, there was some talk of allocating the aerial component of the Revolutionary Guards to Borovanger to tackle the aerial battle. From the sea, the submarines of the Revolutionary Guards had been ordered to commence patrols on Valera Port. To monitor the comings and goings of all the ships. No engagement had been planned so far but the patrols were to silently begin.

When the appropriate airfield was sorted out for the RG aerial wing, would be present in the theater and support the ground troops in bombing key targets. The priority would obviously be on breaking through the supply chains of the fortifications. In due course of time, when the Revolutionary Guards were beefed up by additional deployments the attack on Treviso and Valera would commence.

Villesen - Serenierre

Upon the arrival of Madame Martinique from the meeting with Bourgogne's representatives in Guow Marken, a top secret meeting had been held in the Politburo building to cover the issue of additional deployments in Borovanger. The Generalissimo had instructed the Defence Commissar to decommission a contingent troops from the Military and induct them immediately into the Revolutionary Guards. Additionally, contacts had been made with the Red League leadership for them to provide a series of airbases which would allow Serenien jets - painted in the livery of the Revolutionary Guards - to engage in a broader manner over the skies in Red League territory.

The mood in Villesen was fast shifting and many powerful figures were busy thinking of ways to stop the ever stronger fascist presence in Borovanger.

For most people, the life of an Imperial Intelligence Service (VYP) officer assigned to the diplomatic quarter would have been associated with chasing Kadikistani inflitrators and Pelasgian defectors, wiretapping embassy buildings and infiltrating diplomatic missions; perhaps, for certain people, that was very much the case. And yet, in his decade and a half of experience with the VYP, Lambros Vornovates had not had many interesting experiences to speak of.

Having served as an informant for the VYP on suspected leftist academics and student leaders in his during his studies of International Relations at the Metropolitan Academy of Therme, Lambros had gotten himself a job with the VYP nearly right out of university, his first noteworthy assignment being the position of the replacement intelligence officer of the Pelasgian Embassy in Nichtstein. Since then, he had spent most of his days acting as a liaison between various state and non-state actors from Gallo-Germania and the Imperial Government.

In practice, that meant talking to a whole lot of diplomats, and, occasionally, conducting surveillance on them himself. While it was rather awkward to talk to some envoy on one day and listen to their phone calls on the next, Lambros could think of much worse jobs. Besides, despite the banality of his duties, he was still an officer, and that guaranteed him a generous and stable wage, a good health and retirement plan and freedom from sudden assignments in some hellhole across the sea.

Thus, when told by Roman Jaeger of the Eiffellander Embassy in Propontis that the Kingdom across the Long Sea wanted a meeting with Royalist faction of Borovanger, he asked few questions and got straight to work. Within a day, he had gotten just the right man for Jaeger to meet: Felix Mendes a career politician and staunch royalist from Borovanger. With the help of the nice folks in division Π, he had gotten himself a meeting place and time for the two diplomats: an art exhibition by the name “Virtue and Fortitude” by some modernist painter and sculptor from the Archipelago who went by the name “Markos Psarianos”.

Though not much of a connoisseur of the field of art himself, Lambros had been dealing with diplomats long enough to know that they tended to swarm around such events like flies on a cadaver. After discretely getting each man their invitation to the event, he sent two of his people, a man and a woman who acted as VYP informants in the artistic scene, to confirm the two diplomats presence and that nobody played any funny tricks on them, so as to not show up personally and risk attracting attention. From that point on, anything that was to go on between the two men was beyond his control and far beyond his pay grade.

Roman Jaeger was indeed an art enthusiast. Just two weeks ago, during a short visit to Trier, he attended an exhibition of a group of artists calling themselves “Zero”. He enjoyed it very much, because the artists really came with a new concept of art. Now he was at the exhibition of Markos Psarianos, and also here he saw that new concept of art back.
But of course art was only the official reason why he was here. The real reason was to meet a representant of the Royalist Movement in Borovanger. Jaeger walked around th exhibition, showing interest in all the objects he saw, Talking to some people, until he saw Felix Mendes looking at the Light Dynamo. He walked to Mendes at the moment that the disc in the Light Dynamo started to turn.

“It is a beatiful concept, Sir, do you agree?” he asked to Mendes.

OOC: For the zero movement please see . For the Light Dynamo please see .

Felix turned to meet the man speaking " it certainly is an....interesting piece although personally I prefer the work of the old masters, I had several in my family's estate I hate to think what has befallen them, I take you are an aficionado of the modern art? Personally He never saw the appeal in the modern art movement, but this he mused was most likely due to his not being a very modern man.

" I would say by your accent you are from Eiffelland, I would not expect to see someone like you so far south, unless of course you are not here of your own volition". With that he gave a conspiratorial wink " but enough subterfuge let us get to the matter at hand, I have taken the liberty of reserving a table at one of this cities premier restaurants, after all it would a sin to be in such a lovely city and not experience it".

Saro Province - Red League Territory
Borovanger

1st April. The 1st Revolutionary Legion had heard earlier in the morning that the 3rd Revolutionary Legion had arrived in Borovanger. Already, the jets and the fighters of the aerial component of the Revolutionary Guards had started to make their sorties and encrypted communications were being sent across the front from the various commanders as they plotted the next phase of the destruction of hostile forces in southern Borovanger. A reserve infantry division and an artillery brigade, as well, had been deployed ready for the fight from Serenierre - although with almost no fanfare, owing to the need to keep them a bit less visible than the legions.

It had been decided that the next phase of the push through the province would be named; OPERATION: Jupiter

THE PLAN
1. The 24,000 men of the 1st and 3rd Legions would assume their positions along the Saro front. The men of the 23rd Reserve Infantry Division would stand ready in a supportive role. The heavy and medium howitzers of the 66th Artillery Brigade would be working in tandem with the artillery pieces of the two legions and were to be focused on three precise locations where the troops would push through.
2. The sophisticated jets and the propeller fighters would scan the skies and assert their dominance while configured planes would conduct ground attacks on targets such as bridges, railways tracks and exposed locations along the enemy's front line.
3. On 3rd April, at 5:00am, the 120 howitzers would open fire on the BNA's lines and would fire for a solid two hours. And then, the infantry assault would commence. The objective was to overwhelm the enemy on those locations and to penetrate behind enemy lines.
4. On achieving that, the troops would rush through Saro and cut the two cities of Treviso and Valera from each other, by capturing the rural areas in between the cities. The goal was to encircle the two cities and strengthen the hold of the Revolutionary Guards over Saro.

The submarines of the Revolutionary Guards, which had up till now remained passive, would then commence their attacks on shipping in Valera port. The goal was to render that port unsuitable for full time operation. Hopefully, the sinking ships would clog the harbour and slow down the pace of supply arriving to the BNA. On the eastern coast, towards Treviso, the sole battleship of the Revolutionary Guards PN Leclerc (an ancient vessel from 1912) would fire its 300mm and 250mm guns in the direction of the city from 14 km away. Escorted by its frigates and destroyer, the battleship's bombardment on the city was more to shock and traumatise the morale of the enemy.

April 3 would be a fun day.

Absubia, Saulot - Red League Territory
Borovanger

Ships from Serenierre had been arriving at this small port bringing supplies, petrol, weapons, and foodstuff for the Red League forces by the ton. The provision of heavy anti-tank and anti-air guns for the Red League's battles against the fascist forces in the northern front. The defense of Sala had to be sustained and the augmentation of Red League arsenals and stockpiles was essential to ensure that Sala put up a strong fight. Hundreds of tons of canned food had already been supplied to the defenders in Sala and the strategists in Villesen expected the protracted battle there to be costly in terms of logistics for Serenierre's supply chain but there was to be no compromise. The message from Villesen to the Red League was clear: hold on to Sala for as long as you can.

Borovanger City, Commonwealth of Borovanger,First Ministers Office.

Francois Valois was troubled.

Things were tough in the Prometheist rump state, the political and economic situation was increasingly dire, strict rationing was in place across the country with troops having to be deployed to quell food riots, and many in the Commonwealth were furious at how much of the nations scant resources were given to the military.

The Army of the Borovangen Commonwealth was in a sorry state, they were woefully ill equipped and much of what they had was obsolete, in order to make up for the lack of modern weapons the Army was forced to rely mass infantry assaults to simply crush the enemy, but this tactic while effective was draining the country dry even with mass conscription they still lacked the strength to fight a war on two fronts.

And regardless wither the Red League or the Royalists won it would spell doom for the Prometheists, perhaps it was time to consider the unthinkable...an alliance with the Royalists.

" Julia, contact Field Marshal Blum tell him to come see me urgently".

Field Marshal Blum arrived slightly out of breath it was exceedingly rare for the First Minister to summon anyone to his office, often he would go to them, whatever he wanted he clearly wanted it to remain private" what is it Valois?" upon hearing the First Minister's plan Blum was visibly shocked, such an endeavor would tear the nation apart and flew in the face of everything the revolution had stood for. " well Jules what do you think, would you support this plan I know that the bulk of the army will follow your lead, I need your help old friend can't you see we cannot hope to defeat both the Red League and the Royalists". Blum stood silently true, an alliance would change the balance of the war...but once the war was over, there was no way the alliance could hold. " I'll support this alliance, but the people won't stand for it, you'll be reviled as the man who betrayed the revolution, you'll be targeted for the rest of your days, also we'll need a neutral third party to ensure that a treaty is respected by both parties, it'd have to be a party distant enough to remain impartial but powerful enough to ensure the treaty is honoured".

"Well If I am to be hated then so be it, but if it help ends the war than it will be worth it, I'll send a message to the Royalists Immediately".

“You are indeed right. I am from Eiffelland,” Jaeger said. “I fully understand your preference for the old masters. I like them too. It is just part of the nature of artists that they experiment. But let’s continue our conversation in the restaurant.”

Jaeger completely understood the idea behind the sculpture called “Light Dynamo”. Indeed, when it was standing still, there was not much to see. The real piece of art, however, occurred when the Light Dynamo moved; then it caused a visual effect, and that was what the artist wanted to create. The Light Dynamo in itself was not the piece of art; it was just the vehicle to create the piece of art. But that explanation already indicated the main problem of modern art: It needs too much explanation, and not everybody has the patience or the time for that.

It appeared that Mendes had arranged a separate room in the restaurant. An excellent idea according to Jaeger. In that way, they could talk in private, without the risk of being heard.

As soon as the waiter had disappeared, Jaeger started to talk.

“Mr. Mendes, this is the reason why I contacted you. We are observing the events in Borovanger as well. At this moment, we see that the Red faction is advancing. I don’t think it will be in anybody’s interest, apart from Serenierre and Kadikistan, that Borovanger will become red. Therefore, my government wants to offer materials. First of all, fifty Tiger tanks,” Jaeger said.
He pronounced the word “Tiger” in the German way, so like “Teeger”.

“Of course those Tiger are not new. They are used tanks from the Eiffellandian Army, but they are very well maintained. I can assure you that they will be of great help against the red forces.”
Also here Jaeger handled the word “Tiger” in the German way: The plural of “Tiger” is the same word as the singular word, so “der Tiger” for “the tiger” and “die Tiger” for “the tigers”.

“You will get them for free.”

Jaeger took a sip of his water. As per Eiffellandian tradition, he would start with the wine at the first course.

“We can also deliver you 40 new Mysterium II planes with rockets and on-board cannons. Of course not immediately, but piece by piece during a month. This will be on a lend-lease basis. The Sturmvogel would require your pilots to undergo a thorough training, so it won’t be helpful to deliver those in a situation in which you urgently need planes.”

Jaeger took another sip of his water.

“We can also deliver you 40 new Mysterium II planes, with heat seeking air‑to‑air missiles. Of course not immediately, but piece by piece during a month. This will be on a lend-lease basis. The Sturmvogel would require your pilots to undergo a thorough training, so it won’t be helpful to deliver those in a situation in which you urgently need planes.”

Jaeger took another sip of his water.

“Furthermore, we can deliver you new 10,000 Beck & Böhm combat rifles with ammunition on a lend-lease basis, as well as anti-tank weaponry from Rathenau Militärausrüstung and Beck & Böhm, also on a lend-lease basis.”

Bishop Ignatius could scarcely believe what he saw in front of him, a letter from the Prometheist First Minister requesting an immediate cease-fire and the formation of a Popular Front against the Red League. Such a proposal could change the balance of the war, that if of course both sides could reach an agreement, which would be a minor miracle in its own right given the bad blood between the two sides.Ortega and the National Salvation Committee would never agree to such an agreement, after all in order to form a treaty they would first have to recognize the Prometheist Commonwealth as a sovereign nation something that was bound to be a contentious issue.

Still this was an opportunity too good to miss, Prometheist support would provide a massive advantage against the Red league who would be forced to fight a war on multiple fronts against a united opposition. The only problem was Ortega and his fascists would scupper any attempt at an alliance, for there to be any chance of peace Ortega would have to be convinced of the wisdom of an alliance, the only way he would back down was if he saw there was no there no other choice.

But if the Grand-Duke could not be reasoned with, then to save the nation and its people Ortega would have to be dealt with.

1st Expeditionary Force

The combined forces of Geotri and Korystia were easily able to surround and make major pushes on all sides, with orders being easily relayed back to the troops with intelligence provided by Korystian forces who were there before us the battle was destined to be short lived and one sided. Geotrian forces were to attack from the West and the South while Korystian forces would attack from the North and East. With both forces finally in position, they made the advance today(24th) and made their way to the Red League HQ located in the city. Squad 2A is once again thrust to the front to do what they're good at, killing the enemy. Sgt. Seelman grew in leadership ability with each day, learning how to command his men much more efficiently and to put them to better use than being a target to be shot at. They became killing machines, they have seen the horrors of war and know they would much rather be alive than dead on the battlefield. However many pieces of armor were damaged/destroyed from hidden anti tank nests located throughout the city. This had been a surprise as very few anti tank weapons have been seen up until this point. They knew that others may be helping the Red League but now they had definite proof that there are other forces in play.

Squad 2A had already pushed deep into enemy territory, leaving a trail of corpses in their wake. They reached the rendezvous point 2 hours before any other squads arrived. They continued on deeper and deeper and killed more and more communists until they had gotten to the plaza where the HQ was located at. At which point the armor that accompanied them demolished the building with their cannons. They were given orders to leave no survivors. Kill any and all Red League soldiers and officers. The speed in which they moved through this city was a testament to their blitzkrieg tactic worked. Any prisoners that were acquired were interrogated and then executed by a firing squad. Hundreds were killed this way after the battle for Sala. Afterwards the two commanders talked in which MGen Leitner suggested he moved south to assist Ortega in his failed offensive against the Red League.

Between Sala and Adsubia
4/5/1957

The 1st Expeditionary Force begins to move south to aide its ally in their failing offensive in the south. There lay a small port city in between them and Ortega's forces. If Ortega was captured and killed then it would be a lot harder to defeat both the Prometheists and the Red League. They needed him to hold the line in order to win the war.

Army-Commander Paolo Coruna had been given a simple task, hold off the Royalists forces and prevent them from marching into Saulot. however it seemed he would fail in this task. The fighting in Sala had dragged on for weeks but was now coming to a close. the combined Royalist forces had broken through the Red League's defenses and were even now forcing there way towards the heart of the city, despite a valiant effort by the Red League there were simply too many Royalists and too few Marxists.

Yet they were resolved to fight on, for the glorious revolution and even now their comrades were marching on the last Royalist strongholds in Saro and once the south was liberated from the monarchist yoke then they would turn there eyes on the north.

The Royalists were trapped in Treviso and Valera, the Red League had managed to smash through the front lines, the Royalists tried to retreat in good order but many were captured by the Red League in the ensuing rout. The remaining Royalists were currently encircled in Valera and Treviso. The troops currently in Valera at least had access to the coast via the port while those in Treviso were truly cut off.

As the Red League Offensive smashed through the Royalist Lines Grand-Duke Ortega going against the wishes of his advisers opted to stay in Saro rather flee aboard one of the ships leaving Valera stating" I fled my country once and I never will again"Many members of the General Staff followed his lead and stayed with their men.

The Bishop Ignatius however was not one of the many trapped in Saro having left some days previously to administer aid to those displaced in the fighting in the north and heard of the news of the Offensive while touring a refugee camp outside Tremere.

His Highness Alfonso Valemera was nowhere near Saro or indeed Borovanger and is currently staying in one of Pelagasia's premier hotels.

SARO THEATRE
Revolutionary Guards front-lines

Breaking through the defensive lines of the BNA had been a brutal fight, which had been ferocious and had snapped the back of the enemy in Saro. The forces of the 71st & 6th Rev. Guards Regiments had surrounded the city of Treviso - the former capital of the BNA - while the 92nd, 16th, & 19th Rev. Guards Regiments had pushed and surrounded Valera. The fight had been successful in destroying the threat of the BNA to a large extent. Now, the fight for the two cities would begin.

The aerial campaign had been successful in knocking down bridges and water barrages supplying the cities and sustained ground assault had taken out irrigation canals and other necessities of life. With power stations destroyed and food supplies stopped, the plight for Treviso was especially desperate. A message had been sent to the commander of the city to surrender or face the consequences of a sustained military assault on the city - which would undoubtedly be brutal and bloody. They had been given 24 hours to comply. In the meantime, the heavy howitzers of the 66th Artillery Brigade had already been positioned to rain fire on the city if the commander was foolish enough to not accept the ultimatum.

Towards Valera, the smoke rose heavily into the sky over the port from the torpedo strikes by the Revolutionary Guards' submarines and from the aerial strikes that had taken place over the span of the April 3rd offensive. The city was faring marginally better though here no ultimatum had been given and the fight continued here unabated. The special rifles cohort had conducted daring raids into the city's defensive perimetre and knocked out an important electric supply station. And the various guns of the units amassed outside the city had been firing their shells with brutal force with an intense barrage of a variety of shells raining on the city over the night. The close air support of the propeller planes made the job of the infantrymen easier, as the pilots picked off the heavier targets.

NORTHERN THEATRE
Northern Saulot province

Four thousand men of the 23rd Reserve Infantry Division had been deployed to the north to help shore up the defensive posture there, though by the time they had arrived the situation in Sala had deteriorated to such a degree that it was thought best to deploy along a better and more defensive line. These four thousand men would work in tandem with the Red League troops under the charge of the commander of Absubia. Additional anti-tank weapons had been brought forward and a stronger defensive posture was to be adopted to halt the advance of the maurauding Geotrian and Korystrians.

City of Saulot
Capt. Generale There were many things which needed to be discussed, particularly giving legitimacy to the communist state that was emerging in Borovanger under the weight of Serenien military might. Additionally, he was charged to smooth the tensions between the Kadikistani backed factions and those backed by Villesen.

VILLESEN, PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF SERENIERRE
Directorate for Foreign Intelligence

Over the past few days, movements along the Prometheist fronts in Borovanger had been suspicious. The reconnaissance photographs that had been taken of the country by high altitude jet planes had shown that they had been re-deploying their forces and possibly preparing for some hostile actions. The message had been passed to the Revolutionary Guards in Borovanger so as to keep them prepared for anything untoward. However, it was still clear that they were not in a position to move immediately as they were still recovering after the Spring Offensive gains. But the threat was indeed developing.

The DFI, ever since the Serenien involvement had commenced, had been feverishly working at cracking the encryption codes of the various hostile forces in the war torn country and had been partially successful at the job, which had been one of the main reasons for the string of successes achieved by the Revolutionary Guards so far. Though, the highest levels of encryption however remained unbroken so far - although the DFI had picked up on the source and the signal station where the messages were headed. The level of communications between the Fascists and the Prometheists, which were usually open channel insults hurled by one side to the other had suddenly quietened up and the propaganda of the Prometheists had let up on the fascist forces. It was strange and the DFI had instructed its spies to look into what was happening.

Generalissimo Serazin's private villa
The leader of the People's Republic had been meeting officials from the Military the entire day to discuss the happenings in Borovanger. The successes of the previous few days in Saro had everyone pleased though it was clear that a point needed to come where the Revolutionary Guards needed to shore up their positions to reorganise after a tough series of battles. Though the briefs from the northern front of the war were ever concerning, where the fascists were gaining ground due to a weaker presence of Serenien military might. But the position could be managed for now.

Serazin would later meet with Elisabeth Martinique and talk about setting up .
