The Northern Cooperatives are very conservative in many ways and very liberal in others. The existence of the underground and unlicensed porn industry within the Northern Realms is tolerated by the government and very rarely persecuted except in cases of egregious taboo, such as bestiality, pedophilia, and child porn. The production of videos ruled to be part of that umbrella and beyond - such as specific fetishes - can and easily result in a hard labor sentence for 10 to 20 years in the Arctic or a death sentence. The Northern "Gulag" is only filled with sexual predators and high-risk murder suspects as a result, although this was not always the case.
However, the "vanilla" industry flourishes in the very sexually liberated markets of Rigustad. The metropolitan area has laws regulating brothels. General law within the Northern Realms specifically forbids the production or possession of pornographic material, but this is overlooked in the heavily liberal (although still staunchly socialist) South. The minority-filled North, spread among the Litu dominantly, are increasingly conservative in terms of socialism, often subscribing to the more hardcore ideals of Marxism-Leninovism that specifically outlaw homosexuality, expressions of sexual liberty, and adherence to doctrine.
Although not all of the country is fully connected to the Internet, most of the South is. Although the Cooperatives have a censorship program for the Internet to restrict searching for materials, almost everyone uses a VPN and the censorship is mildly effective regardless.
The Northern Mafijas hold a monopoly on the production of pornography. Many famous porn actresses hail from the North and ply their trade often internationally. Learning skills throughout the Rigustad brothels, Rigustad is one of the capitols of pornography on the continent. LGBT pornography is still relatively new and taboo in the industry, and as a result, the Mafijas shy away from it. Many popular porn domains are hosted in underground labs in the Northern Realms.
The government's position on the flourishing and burgeoning pornography industry in the North is simple - by refusing to acknowledge it exists, they do not need to enforce any laws surrounding it except for the individuals who break the moral codes of the North.

The Doburov Mafija controls this industry, a multi-ethnic gang filled to the brim with brutal, cunning, and ruthless men. The Doburov Mafija thus understandably does not treat their "product" especially well, but there are codes of honor for the "Thieves-in-Law" existing in the North to prevent the abuse of women or force them to film. However, it is typical for many women who engage in their trade with the Doburovs to be particularly emotionally unstable. The Doburovs maintain a full network of doctors for HIV testing to ensure an epidemic would not shut down their industries. It is one of their most successful and profitable trades.
Like the Balodis, the Doburovs operate out of Rigustad.
Groupsex, BDSM, Non-Taboo "Fetish"
The western Balodis Mafija controls this sector of the pornographic industry. The Balodis Mafija hails from Teutonia and rarely funds expeditions into other sectors of the industry out of respect for the Doburov. The Balodis are stereotypical Teutonians - business-minded, efficient, and calculating. Working for the Balodis is much better than servicing the Doburovs, as they generally reward their workers well and act professionally. White-collar crime is the expertise of the Teutonian Mafijas.

The middle portions of the country is almost empty of organized crime groups aside from the Ozolinsh OCG, an incredibly violent and sectarian Litu pro-autonomy gang. The group is the prime target for raids. Often the more "gonzo" films circulate from this crowd, and rumors of abuse and rape attract police attention.
Domuva is the central location for the Ozolinsh Family.
