Two Corvis Class Corvettes
[/div]Among the several warships involved were three Corvis Class Frigates, the most recent additions to the navy, which captured much international attention for their design and their stealth capabilities. Further two corvettes of this kind are expected to be delivered later this year by the Almstars Shipyards, while an additional one is expected to enter service in a few months. The acquisition of these warships has been the flagship of the government's defence policy.
The fact that these exercises have come at a time of growing volatily of diplomatic relations between the Rurikgrad Pact nations and its neighbours in Gallo-Germania has put it's purpose into questions. Critics have accused of this being an ill-timed military exercise at a time when the country should be exercising contention in its diplomatic relations, as the exercises could be misconstrued as a show of force and put Andros in its neighbours crosshairs.
The spokesperson for the navy however assured that these military exercises were a normal part of maintaining a capable military force, which is a right afforded to all sovereign nations, and that it was undertaken fully within the boundaries of international law and good sense. Several days ago it was also announced that several regiments of the National Volunteer Army would be participating in exercises around the Osvalis county.
