Friend and business partner,

The Ulkoministeriö in representation of the inhabitants of Pohjanmaa wish inform Serenierre of delays in transport of oil tankers. Typically the route of oil would pass through the Engellsea and to Serenierre. Now, transport will have to take a less direct route due to the Engell imposed “TEZ” which will slightly delay shipments as oil much now go around the Engell NoCRER island chain.

President Lepomäki wishes to make it clear that the Commonwealth does not recognize the legality nor the existence of the Engellsea TEZ, and believes that it has been nullified due to the flagrant display of disobedience by the Socialist Republic in Westernesse. That said, we find it unwise to suggest the transportation of oil through those waters and thus shipments will be slightly delayed. Should the efforts of the 10th Parallel Initiative prove unable to contain the possibility of violence or war, then it must be assumed that Serenierre is at war with the Engellosphere. As such, oil transport could prove incredibly difficult and will be rerouted via the Retalian Sea. Naturally, this will cause further delays again, and your government should prepare for such extreme cases.

Lastly, it is our desire to show our humble respect for the Serenien Government and its conduct in the wake of the Loong Sea Crisis that involved the FNS Espoo. Relations between Pohjanmaa and Serenierre would seem to be at a high after what initially appeared to be the lowest of lows. The conduct of our sailors rescuing Serenien in the Retalian Sea, and our mutual understandings in both trade and the Loong Sea Crisis solidify a strong relationship between Gallia and Scania. It is our hope that conduct in the Loong Sea can resume peacefully with the cooperation between our peoples especially. Rational actors among those who would rather trade in bullets. Bullets are now fired to your north and while we do not hold any military alliance, our nation wishes to convey its support for Serenierre in the face of Engell aggression.

Should it be possible before the Second Round of Loong Sea talks, our leadership should engage in talks of our own in order to maintain peace in Gallia, Scania, and Germania as a whole.

POLITBURO DE SERENIERRE
Commissariat for External Relations

Confidential Letter
(Hand Delivered)
Mme. Venla Säkkinen
The Hon. Foreign Minister,
The Republic of Pohjaanma

Dear Madame,
It is with considerable warmth I receive your letter. The efforts of the Pohjaanma Navy to rescue the innocent sailors of the MS Hyacinthe are still fresh in my mind and the strong trade connections between our countries by way of commercial dealings is also not lost to me. In a time of great economic and geopolitical uncertainty and chaos wrought on the Continent by the hordes of the West, it is always wise to remain mindful of the true allies of peace and prosperity.

We are well aware of the risk of disruptions of oil supply from the usual route. It is the position of the Serenien Government, as well, to disregard the legality of the unilaterally imposed Engellsea TEZ, which is against every notion of freedom of the seas and is abhorrent in our modern times. While the obvious difficulties in the supply are not of Pohjaamaan doing, the risk of interruption has required us to ensure our strategic reserve of energy supplies is enhanced considerably. We shall be grateful if to offset delays, Pohjaanma might utilize supertankers to enhance the composition of each delivery.

It is however, our request that representatives of the Pohjaanman Government approach representatives of the Government of Touzen and assist in making them appreciate the violation of the Freedom of the Seas by the Engell nations. The violation of that sacrosanct principle has the potential of effecting the wider Long Sea economy and is something which cannot be taken lightly.

It is the hope of the Serenien Government that ties between Pohjaanmaa and Serenierre continue to strengthen and improve and we hope that President Lepomäki may visit our capital, if the geopolitical conditions allow it, as a guest of President Maximilien Hortefeux

With sincere regards

Bernard Lavosnier
