Anders Olson stood up in the campus socialist meeting and exclaimed the following: “As a Sylvanian-Austwegian I can’t help but ask: has the world just gone mad? . .”
Well dressed and groomed, Anders exuded a New World spirit held within a seemingly Old World body. He was at the University of Nyhamn to study economics, officially at least, yet during the Spring semester he had been encouraged by new friends at University to attend party meetings. As many Austwegians and other foreigners returned home for the summer, the meetings had become not only smaller but also much more extreme as the Social Democratic movement went into tumult in Sylvania and the Socialist leadership in Jyskerige-Østveg was attacked.
“I wouldn’t normally do this, but I need to stand here and ask for help,” Anders appealed, forcing tears to his eyes as he actually imagined the death of his sister from starvation as a child, “I’m in need of solidarity, I think we are all, my socialist brothers and sisters - this isn’t the time to pull apart, but we need to come together when this world just seems so insane!”.
Anders wiped his eyes and offered up a, “Sorry, that’s all, I’m just too emotional right now . .”
‘I’m on their radar now surely,’ Anders thought, ‘If no one comes to me this evening I’ll speak out against Human Commodity next’.
