(Vrijpoort/Freeport) Standard Chartered Bank, Nedernesia's largest bank, is expected to announce major expansion plans at it's annual shareholder meeting this week. Currently the bank focuses on frontier and emerging markets mostly in Himyar, but inside sources say that operations are likely to rapidly expand in Gallo-Germania, Scania and the West Thaumantic as the bank seeks to capitalise on gains made in Himyar. Standard Chartered provides a full range of retail, trade/corporate finance, business loans and other services in countries such as Natal, Loago and the Jysk territory the Dune Sea. Experts expect the expansion in the more developed northern markets to be focused on wealth management, corporate finance and retail banking. Shares of the bank were up 3.7% on the Nedernesian Securities Exchange this morning.

(Statesboro) The Confederated Republic's Supreme Judiciary was in session again today, this time hearing arguments for the controversial Commonwealth of Chicora Gerrymandering Case. The Chicora-based Kingfishers Alliance for Democratic Reform Ronnie Billings maintained that Chicora's legislature "...has for at least a decade been engaged in a malevolent conspiracy to handicap the ability of Chartist and Modalist constituencies to concentrate their voting power into a voluntarily-associated geographic bloc..." in testimony before the Judiciary this afternoon. Lord First-Magistrate Ramm Putnam and the other twelve Lords-Magistrate of the Supreme Judiciary will hear further testimony on the case tomorrow, at the least, before releasing any findings on their decision.

Jupiter Aerojet announces new partnership with Holloway Aerospace of Clarenthia for a joint venture for the construction of new efficient civilian airliners. The two companies are set to announce their first mock-ups within a few weeks in front of investors and board members. Rumblings of further announcements unrelated to the Jupiter - Holloway partnership have come out of Sylvanian aerospace community supposedly spearheaded by Clarence Grant of Jupiter Aerojet. Grant has been seen meeting privately with representatives from several Sylvanian companies including Continental Consolidated, General Engineering, North Sylvanian Propulsion Laboratory, Lindbergh Aviation Corporation and Hawkins Aerospace.

President Breckenridge spoke on the Long Sea, and the Long Sea Authority: "We are hopeful that the nations now in negotiation over the Long Sea and a creation of a central authority to govern traffic through the Long Sea will yield fruitful results. I believe that the Post Delegationists are willing to commit to peace in the region, however I am a little skeptical that the Gallian, Germanian and Himyari nations that border the Long Sea are ready to commit to any long term plans to make the region a little safer for ocean going traffic. If the nations on the Long Sea don't start thinking about how their actions affect the rest of the world, we very well could see conflict in that arena. It's time to set aside historical grudges and pride and stop holding the rest of the world hostage. "

Described by the press as jollers, most of them start to see Wakerley as the "place to be", describing their coming together as a gathering of all the human tribes in a celebration of peace and love. The Wakerley Division of the Engell Central Himyari Police has been reinforced to prevent any problems, but as of yet, no major incident has been reported.

(Harton) Members of the SDS (Students for a Democratic Society) have occupied the campuses of the Sunbelt University in Camp Hill and the Equatorial University in Harton with calls to a generalised worldwide student protests after about 300 jollers have been arrested in Pelasgia for organising their own Long, Hot Winter. The Rectorate of the Equatorial University has stated that it will negotiate with the students, but the Joel Mthethwa, the Rector of the Sunbelt University has given the striking students an ultimatum of 72 hours to evacuate the halls.

(Propontis) The Propontis Criminal Court of First Instance has found the 300 students arrested near the Imperial Polytechnic guilty of a number of charges, including several felonies. The students, who attempted to import the Long, Hot Winter movement into Pelasgia from Natal, have been sentenced to have their military service exemption revoked and be forced into immediate mandatory military service, as well as as several years on parole. Depending on their conduct during their service, they may be forced to spend multiple years in prison. Their educational institutions have expelled them as convicted criminals following the decision. Both this expulsion and the court's decision were hailed by the Imperial Procurator for the case, while the defence counsel vowed to appeal the decision to the Propontis Criminal Court of Appeal. The case has generated considerable attention in @Natal , but the Pelasgian Secretary of External Affairs, Mr. Emmanouil Avgiros, who is currently visiting Natal to discuss Pelasgia's potential entry into the EHTO, has not yet commented on the issue.

(Camp Hill) With the ultimatum expiring, many students have evacuated the halls of the Sunbelt University in Camp Hill, but some radicals of the SDS remained barricaded and the riot police was called in. About 70 students have been arrested after the Engell Central Himyari Police used tear gas to bring them out of the halls and arrested them. Thousands of students are still camped outside, both in Camp Hill and at the Equatorial University in Harton.
