LIVE : WEST DULWICH : NOCRUR

The Thaumantic News Network Live Hour with Camina Evasarala.

"The Incidence of East Dulwich persists unabated and events, still continuing to evolve, are successfully restrained within the CO-LCE.

The Angellexian Prime Minister, Finnick Hovis, addressed the latest events and publicly disclosed investigations pursuing their provenance to unauthorised breaches of the limitations of the CO-LCE interior. It is suspected the Tanner Liberty, where the calamitous phenomenon had initially been encountered four months previous, was one of those breaches.

The uniquely challenged nature of the East Dulwich Incidence, and the precautions undertaken by the Northern Constituent Republics, appear to conspire against the application of traditional administering of recent events where triggering a direct and rapid intervention has not been the inspired response inside the CO-LCE. Governing the situation remains an indirect act calculated to support local populations in the continued operation of the Class One Localised Containment Event.

It has been publicly suggested that the individuals, possibly as an organised group, permitted themselves to become compromised in the deliberate exposure to sensitive areas during their unauthorised incursion. That they may have followed the unlawful act in the dispersing of themselves to numerous locations in East Dulwich, could only complicate the matter further. These do remain unsubstantiated claims, and we should be reminded of that fact until otherwise officially confirmed, yet reported events of escalated disruptions occurring at locations throughout East Dulwich, within the CO-LCE, do correlate with those claims.

In West Dulwich, the ETSE 100 continues to retreat.."

"The United Republics Human Rights Summit sustains the purpose of many; to facilitate a negotiated regulatory framework for the directed transition of the Thaumantican economy away from the Human Commodity System; to permanently cease the worst excesses of human rights violations in the Thaumantic, and agree provision for restitution where appropriate. Monday’s opening deliberations in New Union City were well attended by leaders of the Member States and the corporate world - presidents, governors, prime ministers, premiers and corporate executives - united to meet the expectations of many, and present themselves as equal of that very same determination in underscoring their own policy commitments made months earlier, for a new economic future.

Yet, despite the popular Citizen’s Congress movement persisting to pursue the disagreeable undertaking of social disorder and activism, the governments of NoCRUR and SoCRUR were found uninspired for new ideas, and not so forthcoming with those previously committed. The Northern Constituent Republics declared to the New Parlement its unpreparedness in furthering support beyond initial promises to curtail the HCS, and the Southern Constituent Republics, facing escalating pressures within the Southern Congress against a retreat from the system, said even less, much less. Republics themselves unveiled a number of agreements they fully intend to negotiate into a single agreement, bypassing the hemispherical governments, incorporating incremental promises under the proactive guidance of a Thaumantican anti-HCS policy.

The Governor of Mary-le-Bone, Bernadine Quinn, spoke of direct discussions existing between the republics and the Sovereignties in relation to that future agreement.

The Presidents of NoCRUR and SoCRUR were marked for censure in a characteristic expression of severe disapproval by Tabatha Trotter, inside the New Parlement. The Marylian human rights activist, and popularly elected spokesperson of the Citizen’s Congress, constructed a moving contrast of urgency to agree a resolution over the problematic system and the dithering immobility unfolding at the summit.

It cannot be denied, the United Republics is being tested, but there exists signs, signs of progress in overcoming the collective concern. During the hours of Monday evening the URT observed announcements from nine republics in agreement to legislate an extension for the suspension of Human Commodity System operations indefinitely; the EHTC publicly addressed, from New Parlement, its abandonment of legal actions pursued against losses incurred - a reflection of the spirit of the many; an agreement to implement an extension and increase of the minimum payment received by Capital Duties within the labour force of a host of corporations across the Thaumantic.

The arrival of the URT summit fortuitously coincides with the publication of comprehensive research assessing the long-term social political impact of last year’s events. Narrow opinion that considered drastically reformative action concerning the Thaumantican approach to crime and correction, before dismissed as radicalism, has proven transformative in affecting change over the popular consideration, forming a wide and present opinion. This change has not come without a greater polarisation of opinion on the matter. Yet, a majority exists of Thaumanticans whom no longer maintain confidence in the HCS, and a more fundamental factor of that research, certainly in respect to the deliberations at the United Republics, lies in the substantial majority opposed to a system of general incarceration and the validity of the State to exercise coercive measures of correction against its own citizens for non-capital offences. Simply put, the citizens of the Thaumantic do not support what we have and do not support what has been suggested as the alternative, therefore an opportunity for the Member States of the United Republics to demonstrate the ability to be remarkable in their belief in being exceptional now exists.

Those that had keenly followed the development of events from last year, the evolution of the public conversation on human rights, advocates and representatives alike, expressed a feeling of disappointment with the summit’s first day.

Head of the Human Commodity Fund, William Williams, could not console his disappointment, denouncing NoCRUR and SoCRUR together in his belief for possessing very little in the way of political ambition, when many have escalated their demands for action, and potentially limiting expectations at the URT.

Reports received, to the consternation and confusion of many, disclosed a decision taken by One Meridian early on Monday for Southern President James Hoganis to not attend the heads of state sitting of the URT Permanent Council, deferring to a consensus to be reached between the Southern republics. The Southern President did, however, demonstrate a functional courtesy in observing the proceedings of Liberty Hall alongside the Southern Secretary during the early afternoon. Ottaline ambassador to the United Republics, Vivienne Gao, welcomed Mr. Hoganis' presence during a brief interview with our correspondent at the URT. Miss Gao declared her hope that discussions will prove useful to the Southern President in formulating a permanent and progressive human rights policy in Elephant and Castle.

The appeal from the Ottaline ambassador signalled a deepening crisis of confidence in the recently managed optics of One Meridian, posing a terrific disparity of appearance from just a few months previous. Then the Southern President had been justly credited with providing leadership for the republics and the Northern Constituent Republics to follow and examine ambitious change in response to the Human Commodity emergency. Growing opposition within the Southern Congress has seen SoCRUR retreat from its earlier position. It is no longer acting on its commitments to move the Southern Constituent Republics into a phase of transition, in respect of the system within SoCRUR. Mary-le-Bone remains undeterred by the wrangling of the Southern Congress, and has enacted all regulations curbing the operation of the HCS, including the temporary release of two-thousand non-violent Capital Duties and the closure of the local Exchange.

With respect to the Northern Constituent Republics, against the supposition of a pioneering platform, it did not signal a readiness to move forward with a vigorous, immediate transition away from the HCS. NoCRUR ambassador to the URT, Carnelian McLaren, satisfied the New Parlement of the Member State’s reliability, insisting it would not deviate or shy from the commitments already given, and expressed uncharacteristic clarity of their expectations for all Member States to likewise adhere to their own.

NoCRUR’s disinclination appears less an absence of greater ambition but, in most parts, a wide sense of disquietude. Northern President Geranium Kray and the Northern Congress are equally disturbed with the consequences and potential impact on civic obedience against the backdrop of maintaining the CO-LCE in East Dulwich and military commitments in the Sovereignties. There also reflected was Dulwich’s unwillingness to diverge too far from SoCRUR, acknowledging the symbiotic nature of the North-South relationship. This left the Sovereignties, collectively, as the last remaining proponent for radical change of the Human Commodity System, as naturally expected, with announced intention to move further beyond their original commitments.

Ottaline Premier Adolphus Okoye, communicated a view suggesting complications in future negotiations respecting the ETC settlement should others prove insistently regressed in their approach to the collective concern.

The remark may pose particularly distracting with new talks due to commence between the Sovereignties and the United Republics for an agreement settling the ETC interest. Entrenched differences already exist on the extent to which the ETC should hold expectations on the restoration of corporate ownership over key Ottaline and Andracan assets. The URT Minister-General has thus far declined to publicly divulge a personal opinion on the difficult nature of the matter contrary to NoCRUR and SoCRUR, both of which intimated the imposition of economic repercussions should an agreement not be achieved."

LIVE : NEW UNION CITY : UNITED REPUBLICS

The Thaumantic News Network Live Hour with Camina Evasarala.

"Some have described this moment, this non-insignificant event, as a crossroads for the hope and aspirations of a generation. Are we witness to the resignation of corporate responsibility and political leadership? Or are we witness to the dawning of a new era?

It is no minor matter that executives of the Thaumantic’s most affecting corporations are drawn toward the exclusivity of an invitation restricted forum, to deliberate the intentions of their commercial considerations opposite representatives of governments and advocates of human rights, with uninterrupted privacy. For some, such events are signalling of a feared retreat from the progressive idealism of the URT Human Rights Summit, and that concern has prompted condemnation from such critics. Others adhere to a different perspective, and have been urgent in their appeals for patience and fortitude, insisting executives will be forthcoming with clarity in short time.

The event, characterised as a discussion, outlined for its importance as to warrant the seclusion, draws together members of the Board of Guarantors from both the ETC and the EHTC, together with senior executives from other companies, in other industries. They will be joined by those termed as key stakeholders, people sufficiently capable of weighing their interest with the political matter, in New Union City, on the sidelines.

For the duration of this intervening period, URT Minister-General, Seraphina Godfigu, has elected to host a symposium of her own. Northern President, Geranium Kray, and Southern President, James Hoganis will be seen in attendance, shoulder to shoulder, and not without the Ottaline Premier, Adolphus Okoye, and those of Phillippus and Andraca. The Minister-General does not conceal the obliging motive of her convivial filibuster, to concentrate minds, and overcome the improbable. The Minister-General declined to convey any act of deliberate consequence for those of the ETC or the EHTC, should the positions of NoCRUR and SoCRUR prove insurmountable to change.

The Engellexic Thaumantic Company, earlier this evening, divulged a small detail of the attending list of representatives, including the City of Dulwich Corporation, the Henrietta and Siward Banking Corporation, the Black Spread Eagle, the Black Horse Banking Group, and the Republic Bank of Sus Group."

LIVE : NEW UNION CITY : UNITED REPUBLICS

The Thaumantic News Network Live Hour with Camina Evasarala

"The opening of the United Republics Human Rights Summit confounded all expectations.

The commitment to the common purpose, that democratically qualified admittance of popular expression on equality, adjudicating the rights and freedoms to all people, and, too, attained equal footing of understanding, respectability as a truism of an evolved cultural behaviour, appeared perilous and imminently improbable. Hope, that does sustain the Thaumantic’s union in idealism, perseveres with promise. And it must persevere, for there exists no appetite, can be no greater clarity rendered by and on behalf of the citizens of the Thaumantic. The Former System affected aggressive violations and limitations upon the inalienable rights of the Thaumantic peoples, it degraded the natural constitution, the shared and personal humanity, a moral bankruptcy for unfettered economic utility.

The Summit itself marks the reshaping of the moral standard, a redefinition, or renaissance of collective social responsibility, and, more, the transformation of Thaumantican capitalism’s relationship to the processes and character of the United Republics. That these two changes are undertaken in combination of one event, are not by chance or entirely without expectation, they reflect strategic choices of recent, independent events. Demonstrating society’s interests coalesced around the Former System, and the underpinning of the Thaumantic’s economic system by it.

Judicial reform as a singular subject would, it is thought, achieve political consensus in favour of progressive alternatives. The Summit and its obstacles themselves represent a manifest tension of the real and careful requirement to rebalance the Thaumantican economy away from the Former System. The task of the Minister-General, and the United Republics, has therefore been to find where most sections of capital could unite around a common strategy, positioned on minimal regulatory standards for capital, labour, goods and services markets. The most-wide ranging opening up of certain markets to the forces of international competition, where once the Former System acted to protect, and to not encourage the devastation of economic sectors.

The Board of Guarantors, of both the ETC and the EHTC, sought to publicly disseminate that sentiment in anticipation of private discussions.

A spokesperson for the ETC addressed the unwelcome reception, reassuring the Company was and remains equally enthusiastic on a strategy of building a post-HCS system and this was the sole, and increasingly prominent, reason for pursuing confidential discussions. The ETC stressed the importance of policy collaboration, an active pan-capitalist post-HCS policy, as an essential prerequisite to the convergence with wider political negotiations within a public forum. The City of Dulwich Corporation released a statement associating itself with the ETC, and expressed disappointment in the irrational preoccupation with unqualified suspicions and the controversy that surrounds them.

URT Minister-General, Seraphina Godfigu, has announced her meeting with the New Parlement tomorrow afternoon."

BREAKING NEWS : LIVE : NEW UNION CITY : UNITED REPUBLICS

The Thaumantic News Network Live Hour with Camina Evasarala

"We are going live to Liberty Hall, of the United Republics in New Union City, where Minister-General Seraphina Godfigu is speaking now..

The subject I address to you, today, is one, the significance of which it remains uneasy to describe, and improbable to exaggerate. My sentiments, I will state them with as much brevity as possible.

The United Republics is called upon to decide on the freedom, or the continued servitude of two-hundred-thousand of our fellow citizens. A question that remains frustrated by the indelicate embrace of, in a greater and less degree, our shared judicial system and the pecuniary interests of Thaumantican oligarchs. Eventful circumstances last year demanded our most careful consideration and awful responsibility, and it therefore became, and is, a matter of the highest importance, that New Parlement and the people of the Thaumantic should understand the precise position that we stand, and in which the question stood at the present moment.

The abolition of the Human Commodity System was demanded by the almost unanimous voice of the whole Thaumantic, a feature which continues to define the present state of the question.

Allowing the exceptional disturbances of last year to be put to one side and, instead, acknowledging the democratic appeals; scarcely the annals of New Parlement are able to furnish an instance in which so many petitions were presented from so many and so different petitioners. The last Record of the Office for Public Frustrations, registered nearly thirty-million verified signatures affixed to the most prominent petition against the Human Commodity System. Thirty-million of our fellow citizens had called upon us, the United Republics, to liberate our own people, and to put a permanent end to the system of commodity, enforced penal servitude.

There could not be a more acceptable and complete expression of public opinion than those petitions presented - they were signed by citizens in every republic, of every age, and of every class; both women and men united in demanding, that the Human Commodity System should be put an end to throughout the United Republics in the Thaumantic.,

Some people, some corporations, we know, found in their attempts to ease ridicule upon the cause of those petitions - the score of their impact on chiefly pecuniary interests. I would say, I did say - and I no longer cared who the people, the corporations were, are - why, I would say that they had had the audacity to taunt the citizens of the United Republics with the offence of demanding that their fellow citizens, vulnerable citizens, throughout the Thaumantic should be emancipated.

I will say nothing of the bad taste and the bad feeling which such a taunt betrayed, but I will confine myself to the expression of this opinion, and I do not hesitate in my confidence that it is shared with you all; should Thaumanticans ever have a right to interfere, it was upon this occasion. Assuredly, the deplorable grievance of the Human Commodity System must have sunk deep into the hearts, and strongly excited the feelings of the Thaumantic, before the citizens of it could have laid aside their indifference to come forward and interfere in economic matters, as some would have it.

Returning to the position in which the question stood.

The Thaumantican people demanded the emancipation of Capital Duties, our first fact on the matter. Second, the United Republics - the Permanent Council and New Parlement - agree to emancipation. And the third, those who had until now been staunchly opposed to emancipation, now acknowledge its necessity.

Political rights were intended only ever to protect natural rights, they did not precede natural rights. Liberty is a natural right, and no one, not even one tainted with crime, should be deprived of it.

We have achieved agreement.

Press Release

Mora Vidal, Minister of State
Office of the Minister of State
Remuria, Asteria

The Socialist Revolutionary Confederation of Asteria welcomes, without reservation, the much awaited abolition of the commodity system and restoration of sacred natural rights. Hesitantly, I confess I understand the difficulty of these trying reforms for the Thaumantic Republics, yet I hope that now, together, such a nation can move past such differences and become a beacon of enlightenment in Europe.

The Anti-State welcomes recent developments that strive towards the establishment of the so-called system of capital duties, seen as the principal obstacle towards deeper political and economic exchange between the liberated territories and Thaumantic civilization at large. We will closely monitor the establishment and execution of the process of abolition that we hope will now be implemented without delay, and will disestablish existing legislative prohibitions concerning the conduction of commerce with corporate entities in the United Republics that have until now made use of the Human Commodity System in accordance with progress made regarding their disassociation from the Human Commodity System.

We foresee that should Thaumantic civilization come conclusively to terms with its original sin, the months and years to come shall find rapid alignment between our cultures in spheres of mutual interest, unshackled from the shadows of institutionalized oligarchical tyranny looming over such rapprochements.

LIVE : ELEPHANT & CASTLE : SOCRUR

The Thaumantic News Network Live Hour with Billie Jackson Campbellista

"Through the fog of impoverished fancy and impossibility of the monomaniacal, the insouciant glimmer of Thaumantica shines like a vaudeville performer of Moss Follies on Broad End. Should fashion not quite sustain the great ideas that are routinely and willingly attached to it - an opinion that periodically inspires fashionably critical contrarians to proclaim that it's not such a great deal in the greater scheme of European occupations - it nonetheless remains the liveliest, and most imaginative presence within THAUMANTICA. The Deco extravagance of our vulgar Civilization might not have their lusting gaze, and only inspire ever a dilapidated formality, but the First Monday of June arrived, walloping us all intentionally with the howling excesses that our insatiable selves demand.

The best way to interpret the big and noise of the Thaumantican Season - and despite what may be said in disapproval, it's pleasure and eminence - is to put aside whatever ideological agenda you are tempted to bring with you. It is granted that that is not so easily done. Elephant and Castle has accumulated a heavier burden of cultural significance than most nations could easily bear; a roaring racket eased beneath the dizzying corruption of interwoven Art Deco and Gothic Revival that soars above, consuming every suggested era of debauchery to a tumultuous applause enough to unnerve and uproot most Other Societies.

Hosted by Lady Evangeline Astor, Countess of Canarsie, and Lord Ezra Fairbanks, Baron of Battery Broads, Society was ushered into Elephant and Castle for the gild and sparkle of the Metropolitan Exposition of Art's Costume Forum gala - the Mexpo Gala, or, as you hear it, the Mecco, daarling.

Europe's biggest night for fashion was a hurtling overflow of the Thaumantic's high society pressed to the simultaneously invigorating and exhausting beat of our New Jazz Age, swaddled in the visual pop and frenetic opulence of interpreted Camp, leaving us, all, captivated and repulsed by the illimitable variety. Curated by Jimmy Byron Dean, the Costume Forum's new exhibition, Camp: Europe Take Notes, was the ordered celebration of the evening, requiring the campiest ensembles for the pink carpet. We were not disappointed, with everyone looking like a trillion script in the splendid costumes by Europe's most accomplished designers.

I want to wake up like this tomorrow! (Cuts to Greta Lamarr interview on the carpet).

(Arosti) de la Lialla! Incredibly inspired, they truly succeeded in creating something magical, I can feel it, and I do not want to take it off! Admire this beading, and my wingspan, there is a feeling to soar! I promise you, I shall not try to.

A mood for the Mexpo.

The Thaumantican-Aurarian fashion designer dressed Greta Lamarr, and the 51-year old singer from Mary-le-Bone demonstrated her pink carpet domination, glistening in a beaded bodysuit of rose gold, and a vast feathered headpiece with hundreds of glittering crystals. Greta Lamarr, whose costume was described as a homage to the Broad End performers and starlets of the 560's (1940's), was not alone in serving symbolic drama and timelessness from the Golden Era of Palmwood in an interpreted extravaganza of camp.

Lord Alphard Hamilton and Lord Elphard Hamilton, the twin sons of the senator Lady Minerva Hamilton, Marchioness of Bissee, sparkled and shone in matching jumpsuits, by Mallory Mallory. Alphie of black with gold tracing, and Elphie of white with silver tracing, were accompanied by their partners Lord Charlie Thompson and Lady Margot Dugard.

Lady Eugenia Osbert Somnolen, the Duchess of Osrhoenesee, attended with her husband, Lord Renweard James Somnolen, the Duke -. The senator seared the pink carpet in a show-stopping orange feathered and diamond-embellished dress by Elio Guada, the Retalian fashion designer.

Lord Gondulphus Rutledge, Baron of Samosatawk, the youngest, at 28 years of age, member of the Southern Congress and son of Lord Aristobulius Rutledge, Duke of South Commageneca, and a member of the Southern Congress, attended with his partners Lord Garberend Gothstein and Lady Hisana Gee. The young baron that is regularly seen and heard within the Southern Congress donning a three-piece suit, body chain and cane, opted for a white three-piece with a gold body chain and an enormous custom headpiece of gold and diamonds, a reference to an iconic look by legendary actress Rosamonde Taylor.

From outside Thaumantica actors and actresses, important names from the world of Palmwood and beyond, were equally welcomed on the pink carpet.

Courtesy of Southern actor Lip Olland the carpet tripped and spun in the presence of his dramatic and intoxicatingly strange theatre. The actor was tailored in a chic Vurbarry suit, with train, and jewelled corset, and a mesmerizing beat; achieving a viral visual with a kaleidoscope five eye optical-illusion concept fully realized by the skilled hand, and painstaking endurance, of makeup artist Gok Choi. Odelyna Burbidge, Arianna Vesplander, from Ambrosia, attended along with fellow actresses Abbie Ivey and Cherish Andrews, from the New Model Republic. Donald Carruthers, the Ambrosia actor, was also a notable attendee."

LIVE : ELEPHANT & CASTLE : SOCRUR

The Thaumantic News Network Live Hour with Camina Evasarala

"Lord Aristobulius Rutledge, Duke of South Commageneca and Member of the Southern Congress has spoken out against the agreement reached in New Union City for the abolishing of the Human Commodity System.

In a speech to his colleagues of the Southern Congress, Lord Rutledge spoke of the influence which his feelings on the subject held with him, and the very importance and magnitude of the question had rendered it imperative on him to rise in the Southern Congress and endeavour to show, that in many of the statements and most of their own conclusions the Minister-General was not supported either by facts or sound reasoning.

As an added curiosity, the ninety-one year old Lord Rutledge informed that there did not exist an intention on his part to endeavour to prevail on the Southern Congress not to pass any legislation that may be put before them on the subject matter. He, rather, insisted a feeling of owing it to himself, as well as those with whom he had acted during different Administrations in SoCRUR on the HCS subject, to point out that the consequences to which they sat to debate did not follow from the grounds laid by the Minister-General when establishing the URT Human Rights Summit.

(Cutting to Lord Aristobulius Rutledge speaking in Ebony Hall, the Meridian)

I beg to remind my fellow Members of Congress, that on the discussion on the abolition of forced labour within the Commodity System it was more than once denied by those who had advocated the measure for a Human Rights Summit that there was any intention on their parts to follow it up by any proposition for the abolition of the System. On the contrary, it was frequently stated by those who argued most strenuously for the Summit, that it was not intended the abolition of forced labour should be followed by a measure for the abolition of the System itself.

The intention at that time was, by the considered intervention of minimum monetary compensation for labour, to ameliorate the condition of the Capital Duty, and improve the general frame of society throughout the Sovereignties.

But I could not, from all I have ever heard and read, believe that it was, even by those who on general grounds contended for the abolition of forced labour, intended to follow up the establishment of such a system as might lead us to those desirable results by the abolition of the System itself. That people might have looked to the abolition of the System as a remote consequence of the improvement of the state of society, of the amelioration in the state of the Capital Duty population, and in the general improvement of the Sovereignties, all of which doubtless were contemplated, and all of which had unquestionably been the consequence of the abolition of forced labour - there could be no doubt.

That the one was to be considered as the immediate consequence of the other I do deny, and challenge the Minister-General of the United Republic to substantiate it.

Returning to the point most consistent with the sentiment of the debate in the Southern Congress, Lord Rutledge contended his belief that the loss occasioned to the agricultural corporations, and others, by the measure of abolition, would be much greater than is being admitted by the United Republics Ministry and the Southern President. The loss occasioned by the measures of the United Republics, he argues, ought to be compensated, but he did not believe that the estimated sums would be sufficient compensation for that loss.

(Cutting to Lord Aristobulius Rutledge speaking)

There were many corporations and individual people, who would be great losers by the measure, who would not be included in the principle of compensation, in the way in which some would have it applied. There were those who had no industry, but whose whole commerce relied on the efficient provision and distribution of Capital Duties, and who would lose their labour without receiving any compensation. This was a point, however, on which the Minister-General does not speak upon.

I believe, under the established principle of compensation, the Minister-General would be most satisfied to discover the Underwood Estates well and suitably compensated. Just not those, however, it would have not much previously been reliant upon for provision of such labour.

TNN are reaching out to both the Underwood Estates and the Minister-General’s Office for comment."

I am a little disappointed at Lord Aristobulius Rutledge for having taken so low a tone in recommending the alterations, and insisting on such complaint. I will not quarrel with it, as I believe the Member of SC had shown sufficient grounds both in point of expediency and in point of policy, for the important change which we, at the United Republics, proposed. 1/2

It had been said in the course of the debate, that the process of emancipation had been politically disingenuous; questioning the legitimacy of Capital Duties having their freedom returned. Be that as it might, I believe a majority will agree, whether the cause of liberty was legitimate or not, the People are prepared to take it, if the Southern Congress were not prepared to give it. 2/2

The idea of compensating the peddlers of forced labour should never have been heard. The people of Camden should long have been in campaign to have their representative in the SC removed, a century ago. Lord Rutledge's disapproval/complaint of the process and resolution is a disgrace, and his perspective is not fit for the progression of society.

Our leaders and representatives need to hear us. Public investment for the improvement of agricultural infrastructure and productivity remains controversial, but we support it. Appropriating public funds for parasitic individuals profiting off the trade of forced labour will never be acceptable.

The United Republics New Parlement Confirmation Hearing has approved Ermessende Williams SC as Minister-General Seraphina Godfigu's Under Minister-General for the Office of the External Affairs Service. Williams had rose to prominence in Ottalina campaigning against corruption and human rights abuse, and served as ambassador to a number of countries, including Azraq and the Natal.

BREAKING NEWS : LIVE : ELEPHANT & CASLTE : SOCRUR

The Thaumantic News Network Live Hour with Camina Evasarala

"We are going live to One Meridian, in Elephant and Castle, where Southern President James Hoganis is speaking now..

I will only offer a few words. I offer them in particular consequence of the observations which had fallen from others, in relation to the integrity of the United Republics, and to those in respect of my own personal commitment to the Summit as Southern President.

I can assure all Thaumanticans that there is not a citizen of SoCRUR who felt more strongly than I do on the importance, the delicacy, and, yes - I will say, all the dangers which attended the settlement of this question; the Human Commodity System. I can assure you all that the Southern Constituent Republics Government had applied itself under the pressure of a strong necessity that was not to be avoided.

Carefully, we continuously review and reform preparatory measures which every thinking citizen of the Thaumantic considers as necessary to be taken for the accomplishment of that conclusion at which all wish to arrive, and which all contemplated as the necessary achievement of the United Republics Human Rights Summit, the abolition of the Human Commodity System. The Meridian has applied itself dutifully, as I had already stated, to the removal of the difficulties which surround the subject.

I cannot refrain to express, here, my extreme surprise at the complaint made within the Southern Congress respecting the manner in which the question had been treated by the United Republics. I can assert with confidence, that during all the discussions, in every measure which had ever been in contemplation, there had been the most sincere and anxious desire and the most unremitting exertion on the part of the Meridian to conciliate those with more pecuniary concerns, equally with the United Republics. The Meridian has been open to enter into the most unreserved communication with them, but that openness was met on their part with nothing but difficulties. When they had been approached, invited to indicate a measure which in their opinion was qualified to meet the necessity of safely abolishing the System, we received the plainest terms of there being no proposal to be made.

The Southern Constituent Republics Government had all along sought, by the brightest lights which it could rely, to settle this question, and, if only the Southern Congress, in its entirety, would only look to its immense and multifarious difficulties, to the complication of matters involved in it, and to the multiplicity of interests intimately connected with it, they might support the conclusion we had come to. This was the general course in all matters of difficulty which we undertake with a view to settlement.

Now, I had thought myself quite decided, to not enter into any unnecessary ground of controversy, but to be brief and without distraction. It must be said, I certainly did not hold any expectation, in the year 642 (2020), to hear liberty and the Commodity System contrasted as they have been in some parts of the Southern Constituent Republics, in the Southern Congress. I speak of those among us that persist in drawing a picture of liberty as a state of unprovided education, destitute homelessness, and remorseless self-reflection; and the Commodity System as a state in which the Capital Duty experienced provision of education, provision of abode, and provision of self-reflection. What incestuous ineptitude encouraged this outrageously despicable deformity? Unwavering still, in these Southern Constituent Republics.

Whatever was the popularity of myself, the Southern President, and whatever was the respect entertained for me by the People of SoCRUR, which I will not now stop to discuss, surely that popularity and that respect the elaborate veneration of the Human Commodity System, by any citizen of Thaumantica, could not, by any means, extend. Yet, there are those who indulge in the language with regard to the proceedings of the question and those that proceed to participate in that which undoubtedly would have been much better dispensed with together, with the System.

I do say, and I will repeat it with a confidence that will not be shaken, that a more honest, a more upright, and more independent Parlement than the present, had NEVER been elected to watch over the interests shared of a great and a free People. These Southern Constituent Republics, in our cooperation with the United Republics in forwarding the great measure before them would, I will repeat with equal confidence, insure ourselves the love, gratitude, and respect of the Thaumantic and Thaumantica.

The United Republics, its leaders and institutions, have the support of the Southern Presidency and the Southern Constituent Republics. I hope it can rely on yours, too.
