Minister of Prosperity William Elder sat in his office awaiting the Pelasgian delegation along with his security men. This meeting was important, and could hopefully secure Sheridan another constant, and most importantly cheap source of manufactured goods. William Elder's office was high in the skyline of the city of Wadestone. The Ministry of Prosperity's building itself had 30 floors, of which Elder's office was on top. Inside, there was constant but low-volume peaceful instrumental music playing on small hidden speakers all around, as was mandatory for all Sheridanian offices. The walls of the large office were all windows, and the inside was strikingly modern for a 1950's government officials place of work. But that were the benefits of prosperity. Suddenly, Elder's office phone rang.

"Yes Rosie?"

"The delegation from Pelasgia has arrived Minister."

"Excellent, send them up."

As he hung up, Elder turned to his security captain and spoke.

"I want all of you to hover around in the background. We are not to make our guests uncomfortable in anyway. Just the quick mandatory weapons check and that's it. Understood Captain?"

"Yes sir!"

To the Pelasgians, the Ministry of Prosperity, just like all parts of Wadestone onto which their gaze had fallen, were certainly impressive; the homeland might have held its own grand monuments, but thirty floor buildings in modern architecture certainly did make an impression on the three foreigners. Though modern art was seen as somewhat degenerate back at home, as classicism sterilised so as to fir within the confines of Christian Orthodoxy permeated every level of Pelasgian intellectual life, the Ministry of Prosperity and other grand structures like it certainly did make a positive impression on the trio of Imperial officials.

Leading the Imperial delegation was the Minister of National Defence, Megas Doux Nikolaos Andronikou Kallergēs, clad in his uniform as the Admiral in charge of the entire Imperial War Navy in the Emperor's name, his decorations being supplemented by two golden livery collars, the larger one signifying his position as Megas Doux and the lower one bearing the crest of his Noble Clan, the Kallergēs family, who held the hereditary title of Authente of Chandax, the second largest of the Archipelago's isles. At the advice of the Imperial ambassador to Sheridan, the Megas Doux had made sure to wear a variant of his uniform lacking a sword, so as to avoid having to relinquish to the local security personel, even temporarily. Flanking him were the Minister of Economics, Mr. Iōannēs-Gavriēl Karolou Eÿnardos, and the Minister of Shipping & Trade, Mr. Periklēs Periandrou Grammatikos, both of them dressed in white three-piece suits with black cravats, which were quite popular among Pelasgian aristocracts and notables in hot climates and periods.

Following a short weapons check, the trio entered the office of the Minister of Prosperity.

Minister Elder introduced himself to each of the Pelasgians, as well as shaking each hand individually. Then, he led them to a far corner of his entire story office. In this corner was a nice, medium sized, oaken oval shaped table. There were exactly the right amount of seats, for his guests to be on one side and he the other. The seats were very nice leather, causing the action of all the men sitting to be a noisy affair. Near the table was a small water fountain, made to look like a waterfall coming off the side of a miniature mountain.

"Well my friends, I trust the flight was comfortable. And that you didn't have too much trouble identifying the building!" He spoke the last words with a small wink.

"O it most certainly was, I must say the weather over central Himyar is much more suited to air travel than one would expect," the Megas Doux Kallergēs replied; "As for the building, our chauffeur seemed more than capable of locating it, though given its size and rather impressive style I'd dare say it is hard to miss."

Cracking a small, barely noticeable and almost momentary smile in response to Minister Elder's wink, a rather rare gesture for a naval office back at home, he spoke once more, the Dulwich accent with which he had been taught to speak in English being occasionally broken by a stray rolled /r/ or a heavy /h/; "Indeed, upon seeing your capital, I am even more firm in my belief that our fair Himyar is the most magnificent land in all of Europe. One can only hope that it shall live up to its full potential, would you not to agree?"

"Indeed I do. And, perhaps optimistically, I believe that it is only a matter of time before all our hard work pays off." Elder said. Elder was not an overly devious man when compared to most high ranking People's Party Members, however he was a vehement racist like the rest of the members. It was a deeply held belief in Sheridan that the continent of Himyar was destined to be taken over by whites. That perhaps God himself put the weaker people's of the world in the most resource filled, paradise laden land of all. Simply for his conquerors. But, revisiting his nationalism and racism was not on today's ticket.

"I must ask gentlemen, how long do you plan on staying in our fine Sheridan?"

"As long as our bussiness lasts," Kallerges replied; "It would probably take only a couple of days at most. In any case, I take it you've planned for our meeting and our talks in advance, correct? Your government does have a reputation for efficiency."

The Megas Doux did certainly hope to see Sheridan's work succeed, so to speak; a stronger Sheridan would mean a stronger Himyar, more free from external control, leaving the room open for the Pelasgians to expand their hegemony. Though there was some latent racism in the Pelasgians' zeitgeist, since Propontine times, the Empire had focused on cultural expansionism and nationalism; surely, Orthodox Christian ethnic Pelasgians would always look down on the barbarians, but it would not hurt for the barbarians in question to adopt Pelasgian culture. Alas, such plans were of such a nature that their full realisation could probably never take place in his lifetime. After all, the first step of the plan was a free Himyar and that had yet to be achieved.

"Ah I am glad our reputation has spread! Yes I have many ideas to bring forth. Not least this one; Obviously we desire manufactured goods. Should your nation be willing, we would like to turn 60% of our manufactured imports to come from Himyar. Specifically your nation. I have here some papers that, should you agree, would detail the plans more thoroughly for your producers. The incentive for this, other than strengthening our lands, is that we get the goods at a discounted rate. And we can send some goodfs your way at a discounted rate. I am personally authorized to sign a deal with you and yours, outlining a total discount of 15% by the end of the year on Sheridanian Gold or Silver. In exchange for our needs being met by your producers, and we would only hope for a 5% discount by the end of this year. How is this all sounding so far?"

(OOC: Im so sorry man. had no intention on making you wait this long)

"Your proposal does sound rather enticing, indeed. Apart from manufactured good, the Empire's industries could also provide industrial equipment, such as analog computers, electrical devices and machinery and tools, if you would find that to be necessary. While your reduced cost on valuable metals is also very pleasing, I would like to inquire as to what can be provided in terms of certain other resources, such as oil. Of course, since your current offer is more than generous and satisfactory, we would provide additional rewards in return for any new resources you would be offering at a reduced rate."

(OOC: No problem, we're all rather busy)
