In vintage paranoid style, Meier Lauterpacht thinks a small multilateral peacekeeping mission, and not the armed forces of Crotobaltislavonia and Kadikistan, stands between the Burgundian columns and his country. We shall not be his azazel, his scapegoat.

Lauterpacht's legacy will be that of a heartless anti-humanitarian, a double-dealer, and an anti-Catholic bigot that started a world war to cling to power. But his recent outburst against us is the pièce de résistance of his infamous tenure. He is a madman.

Given President Meier Lauterpacht has yet to formally comment on the Gunnish intervention in Crotobaltislavonia we can only assume the Foreign Office in Windhaven targeted him with their invective on account of his surname and faith. But given the Gunnish government's most recent statement and its past behaviour, the President is inclined to agree with the Trivodnian Ministry of External Affairs' assessment: that the Gunnish are acting as handmaidens to Kadikistani imperialism, and would rather Communists in their back yard than Jews. Nevermind our religions share the same father Abraham, the anti-Semites and reactionaries would prefer to collaborate with ideologues who think the very act of believing needs exterminating.

Since Gunnland so reverently clings to on to the feudal ages, it isn't surprising their grip on empirical facts is less than solid. But for the record: it was the Rurikgrad Pact that initiated this needless conflict, and it was President Meier Lauterpacht who helped orchestrate an end to the Christmas Crisis.

Should Gunnish allow our Burgundian allies to pass through Crotobaltislavonia unimpeded it will go some way to showing once they are not interested in punishing Trivodnia for centuries' old anti-Semitic grudges. But we won't hold our breath.

Trivodnia meets her fate

As Kadikistani tanks roll into Unity Square, the Free State's destiny as only ever a temporary barrier to the Polesian Sea is laid bare

After 107 years of fragile existence, the Free State of Trivodnia is no more.

Constructed by the regional powers of Slavo-Germania in the wake of the Kadikistani revolution, Trivodnia was intended to do two things. First, to stop the new Red Tsars in Ivar from having a foothold on the Polesian coast. Second, to contain two growing nationalisms: Krasnislavian and Yiddish. Now, as the white flag of surrender flies over Amstov, it is clear the Free State has done neither. But the truth is Trivodnia was doomed from the start.

Hamstrung by constitutional neutrality and a no first strike clause, Trivodnia would have never had the effective means to defend herself should - or rather, when - Kadikistan decide to attack.

Meanwhile the Luchenok Convention, the doctrine that effectively divided Trivodnia between its Yiddish and Krasnislavian communities, prevented a true Trivodnian identity from emerging. The irony of course being the Luchenok Convention was crucial to laying the groundwork for the Free State's formation as it enabled peace between the different nationalist factions, and was endorsed by the regional powers eager for a compromise.

So to a certain degree it was inevitable that either Kadikistan or nationalism would destroy Trivodnia. As yesterday proved, it would be Kadikistan.

Much ink will be spent on how this war happened. It is a valid question. For fifty years Kadikistan and Trivodnua coexisted relatively peacefully following the rise of the New Order regime in Ivar. It was only recently, when Crotobaltislavonia began to fall apart again, relations deteriorated.

Yet the bigger question is where next for Trivodnia. The government is all but non-existent. A Kadikistani military administration rules over the land between the three seas. Will this be a permanent state of affairs?

Possibly. What we can be certain of is any outcome will see Kadikistan have permanent access of some kind to the Polesian Sea and Lake Elbe - the very strategic threat Trivodnia was created to avoid.

Some are predicting total absorption into the Kadikistani Union. Others, ethnic partition - perhaps the way the Free State was heading anyway - with the Slavian-majority areas annexed, leaving a rump Yiddish state, possibly under a puppet Leninovist government.

Either way, Trivodnians end up where they were over 107 years ago: under the thumb of Ivar.​

"Good morning and welcome to the breakfast bulletin of the Provisional Military Administration's Public Broadcasting Service. I'm Dvosye Gobel with today's top story.

"The Provisional Military Administration of the Former Free State of Trivodnia, led by the Kadikistani Revolutionary Armed Forces, has announced plans to hold a referendum in Slavian-majority towns, cities and villages on whether to join the Kadikistani Union or remain part of a new Jewish state. Kadikistani officials will use data from the 2011 census to draw out areas eligible for voting, and Jews will be barred from participating to ensure the results are fair and truly representative.

"Preparations for the referendum having already started, with Kadikistani servicemen handing out leaflets detailing the two options presented before the Slavian population. International commentators and geopolitical experts are expecting strong majorities for unification with Kadikistan after Slavian communities were hit hardest by the war instigated by the Jewish-dominated Kahnemann administration. Ivar is also promising considerable investment in health, education and infrastructure so Trivodnian Slavians enjoy the same standards of living as their socialist cousins.

"Separately, the cities of Beltizni and Olnitz and their surroundings are to be transferred to the Free Canton of Crotobaltislavonia, in recognition of Crotobaltislavonia's historic claim to these territories and provide Banja Luka further protection from any potential future Yiddish aggression. The Provisional Military Administration has warned any resistance to the territorial changes will be dealt with 'harshly'.
