Sofie Thott and Frederik Horn have been in and out of meetings with other members of the Scanlaw and each other over the past three days, and a late night conference with all members has just concluded. From what I've seen, two republics will be formed around the apparatus of Jydsken and Østveg with Sofie Thott as Arch-President. Several Germanic cities have signed on to join, typically larger cities with more educated and affluent populations. Many are calling them Free Cities, while some have labelled them Hansaen or even Cities of the Realm. Officially, Jydsken and Østveg are merged into a single entity, but additionally three Germanic Cities have also joined, and as a result this group is collectively called Nordlag, or which might translate to Nordlaw or Northlaw. Is the Scanlaw still a thing? Perhaps? This new entity will claim to be its successor state, meanwhile the Gutnish might claim to be the successor as well if they maintain the Scanlaw name. There are worries in Gothenhagen that Tarusa will not maintain recognition of Jydsken-Østveg as part of the Gothic Sea Pact, and will appeal to the Holy Frankish Empire within the week to recognize it as a member. If the HFE declines, then Jydsken-Østveg could find itself in a turbulent situation with no formal allies and only hostile nations surrounding it. We are hearing reports from eye witnesses that the National Army of Gran-Occidentia has deployed chemical weapons on the Integralist insurrectionist strongholds of Estancia Riachito and Puesto Rey as part of the Army's " Offensive for the liberation of the South". The Gran-Occidentian Army has as yet declined to make a statement regarding these rumours.
