Jydsken-Østveg plans to seek membership in a rumored second choice for the Gothic Sea region should the Gothic Sea Pact deteriorate. Thus far Gothenhagen has maintained that they are a successor state to the Gothic Sea Pact, but have not been recognized as such by Tarusa. Metsamaa has yet to really take a side in dissolution of the Scanlaw, and as a result has been relatively peaceful in its place as host of the Gothic Sea Pact and a sort of extra special sub-national full member. The issue of piracy in the Gothic Sea is becoming larger as a container ship destined for Ostmark and registered in Radilo was seized and taken. This has been followed up by a container ship departing Tarusa and headed to the open ocean being seized. Additionally smaller heists have impacted the Holy Frankish Empire, Metsamaa, Pelasgia, and Tianlong. These smaller heists have just been smaller ships registered to these countries with known consequences. The difficult part is the pirates don't take prisoners and just throw sailors and passengers overboard. The Jydsk-Austwegian Government is now having ferries that go towards the HFE be escorted by naval vessels, but their efforts in the Gothic Sea are geared towards oil platform security, not cargo containers. #NordlagskeTidende #NordicJournalism

The Empire will be protecting shipping that is destined for its ports and those which leave its ports, and those vessels which are registered in the Empire or allied states. Due to the volume of shipping traditionally this will be resulting in reduced shipping from the Empire, which will reduce its volume of LNG, crude, and refined oils to 25% of normal capacity to allow greater protections to dry cargo vessels. It is recommended that foreign vessels change their register to the Empire or an allied state to recieve Imperial protection in the Gothic Sea.
