Dear Prime Minister Gallagher

As you know, in the recent months Gallo-Germania has seen some of the most severe rises in tensions that have threatened the peace and serenity of the region. Undoubtedly, the old ways of organization in Gallo-Germania have become obsolete and the continent's future in the face of growing eastern powers remains unclear.

That is why it is imperative that the nations of the region come together and cooperate on a new level and engage in new friendships to meet the changing times. I am confident that the Empire of Carinthia-Harkany and the Kingdom of Gunnland can only experience great prosperity through mutual cooperation.

In response to the changing developments of the continent and the new demands of our world, I would like to invite the Kingdom of Gunnland to send representatives to Hallein, the Capital of the Empire, to start the discussions that will undoubtedly bud into a strong and prosperous friendship for our peoples. I eagerly await an agreeable response.

Leader Blackthorn is unable to attend personally due to pressing matters in Caledonia and Jydermark-Østveg. I should inform you that Mr. Gallagher retired when Her Majesty Queen Julian appointed Dr. Maria Huyldrich as prime minister. I am his replacement as foreign minister.

Dear Minister Larkin,

It was with a heavy heart indeed that the Empire received word of the Kingdom's decision to cancel the visit to Hallein. Assuredly, the cause of such decision stems from differing responses to the ousting of King Malcolm V in Caledonia. These revolutionaries have ousted the right and proper government, guided by His Majesty, and replaced it with a communist republic.

It is, of course, regrettable that yet another nation has turned itself from God and stability in Government to instead embrace an untested and often failed form of Government. I understand, and applaud the Kingdom of Gunnland, for taking the stance it did and standing up for the rightful royal houses that have guarded the peace in Gallo-Germania for so long. However, it is my sincerest of hopes that the Gunnish Kingdom also recognizes the unique and critical situation that our region finds itself.

Let me be clear. My government intends to grant refuge to the ousted King and he may, till his last day, call Carinthia-Harkány home. Our Government has no interest, and indeed not the resources to even spark an interest, in returning the man to the throne. I will not house a government-in-exile, I will not aid in a plan to reclaim the throne. King Malcolm V agreed, and when he was asked, he had agreed to relinquish his claims to the Caledonian Throne as condition of entry to the Empire. With that, the Kingdom of Caledonia has moved from a nation betrayed by revolutionaries, to a memory and a past to move forward from. My Government intends to recognize the new government in Caledonia for the sole purpose of maintaining the peace and tranquility of this region.

I implore that the Gunnish Kingdom reconsider its decision. There is far too much to be gained by a strengthened Carintho-Harkaner / Gunnish relationship for it all to be cast aside by the political turmoil of such a far away, remote land. Might I suggest a lower profile meeting of our governments, removed from the onslaught of a 24/7 media so that the businesses of our two lands can be conducted in a productive manner?

The Kingdom sends two representatives: Robert Gunn, MT, and Padraig Buchanan Smith, esq., MT. Dr. Gunn is chief of Clan Gunn and a Thingman for the Marian University. Mr. Smith is a Thingman and the Enquêteur of the Inn of Advocates, the Thing's chief prosecutor. They will fly to Hallein from Bremen, Eiffelland in two days' time.

Concidentally, Abbot Edmund Woodstone, OSF, MT another member of our Thing and the superior of the Order of St. Fergus, is on retreat at a monastery in the Thuringian Mountains. I have sent him word that his colleagues will be in Hallein. Likely enough he shall want to represent Church and Kingdom as well, and not miss his colleagues. He can also serve as a translator.

I enclose the assurances of Leader Blackthorn that these gentlemen, and the priest, represent Windhaven as ministers plenipotentiary, and have our absolute trust.
