Bogastvopol City Square.
United Zelenyrus Front Rally.
11:00 AM, December 1st, 1956.
Broadcasted by Radio United Zelenyrus.

Laid out before the City Square is a large wooden stage, with roughly 10,000 people crowding the large beautifully designed square. A banner strung up across the stage reads,"ZELENYRUS FIRST." Several men in suits, some in dress uniforms, sit in chairs behind a podium hooked up to a speaker system and several radio microphones. The crowd begins to cheer as the Patriarch of Novozelenyrus, Nicolae Teodoresku, steps up to the stage. The bearded, aged man smiles and nods at the crowd as he asks that they all bow their heads. He begins the Rally with a prayer. He finishes his prayer and his paternal smile fades as he leans into the podium. "I apologize, brothers and sisters of the Faith. I do not wish to sour your mood, but I must address something. Our people and strong leaders were criticized by the craven Patriarch of the Cetniks yesterday. Our Orthodoxy brother claims that Jesus said to love your enemies, and to pray for them. My brother Patriarch speaks half truts, because I see a Jesus that is full of righteous anger at the degeneracy he finds in His world! I see a Jesus that says, fight back against your enemies, and do it smartly! It saddens me that the heresy of the 'friendly Christ' has spread to our Orthodox brothers. Because Jesus came to divide brothers and fathers, He came not with peace, but a sword. Because Jesus was not a nice man. Compassionate, loving, eternally forgiving, but not nice! What of when he healed the leper's hand IN ANGER? In anger. What of when Jesus would grow angry at his own disciples for not understanding His messages, or when they would not let children touch Him. Or when Jesus fashioned a whip from cords and drove the dregs of society from the temple?! Is this the same Christ that would tell you not judge the enemy which wishes for your extinction? I pray for my enemies, I pray that they meet Christ. I do not wish death for them, but I know that if the Islamists seek out a violent solution to their issues, they seek out their doom. And I openly invite the Patriarch of Cetnika to visit the Blad mountains and see just how friendly our 'persecuted minority' is!" He finishes his speech by wagging a finger towards the northwest, the crowd cheering loudly with thunderous applause.

He walks back to a chair behind the podium, another speaker takes his place and speaks for a half our or so. And another, a war veteran, speaks for another 15 minutes. Finally, the man everyone had been waiting for walks to the stage. Mark Klaninov. The middle aged man's black hair is combed back tightly, and his beard trimmed nicely. He wears a black suit and tie as he waves his prosthetic left hand towards the crowd, smiling brightly. He leans into the podium and begins to speak,"I am not a Holy Man such as the blessed Patriarch, but I thank him for his words and his attendance here. He is a man that all men my age should aspire to become. And he brings up a valid point." The speaker becomes more animated the more he speaks,"These people, the Cetniks and the Jurzans, have no place to criticize our actions. The Cetniks are like wild dogs! You may approach it one evening and it will walk up to you panting happily, and the next morning it will be nipping at your heels. Was it not a few weeks ago that our Cetnik brothers were in the good fight against Communism? And now what? The "dictator", too craven to even use his real name anymore, hunted the Jews in his country and then, starting hunting the anti-Communists the next week. And now he tells -us- to not judge others?" He pauses to let the crowd boo and jeer, nodding curtly as he scowls heavily.

"For the Cetniks to chastise us is ridiculous. It is as if you ousted some thieves from your village, and a crazed psychopath, still wielding the bloody murder weapon, approached you and scolds you for your rudeness towards the ruffians. To the Cetniks I say, keep your bloodied hands out of our business. The defense of national identity comes first here in Novozelenyrus. Which brings me to question, what comes first -there?-" Klaninov pauses to receive another rousing applause from the crowd. His steely gaze scans the crowd evenly. He reaches into his jacket and pulls out a letter, holding it to the crowd.

"I have here a letter from Jurzan."
He is immediately cut off by boos and jeers. "Mister eh.. Khayrat here, claims that the primitiveness and backwardness of the Blad Islamists is due to CLASSISM fueled by CAPITALISM." The incredulous tone of Klaninov serves to make the crowd goes crazy, the microphone catching several derisive comments like "COMMUNIST SCUM" and "KOMAR." (Zelenyrossiyan for Mosquito, a slur for Muslims.) He speaks over the crowd and they grow silent,"All here remember the project to modernize the Blads, and all here remember the response we got from the Muslims. Completely and totally uncooperative. Our businesses, our corporations, even our government modernization projects all resisted by these backwards komar! They protest our economy until they can govern themselves and receive the rights given to them by 'Allah'. Leeches! All they're good for is growing their poppies and their wheat."

"Getting back to Mister Khayrat's letter, he states that they have built universities across their entire nation, and have allowed women and men of all classes to enter them for free, saying this is how they have circumvented a classist society such as ours. Yes, that reminds me. What of the great colleges of Matchenkograd, and D'gast after the communists took over .What great centers of knowledge they became, yes? From your toddler to your young adult son, your entire bloodline was being pumped full of Communist propaganda. What is one plus one? 'The Worker. Two plus two? The Bourgeoisie. Mirkov was not great, he was an evil man! Your history is shameful and your property is not yours.' That is the type of high academia that Mister Khayrat speaks of. He ends his letter by saying that the comments from myself and my countrymen are the sign of a party 'on its way out.' I ask you, does this feel like a party 'on its way out'?"

Klaninov crumples the letter up and opens his arms to gesture towards the huge gathering as he asks this. The crowd responds as one, a loud "NYET!" resounding throughout the city square. The party speaker leans in towards the podium further and speaks in serious tone.

"I will relay to you all, by extension to the Mister Khayrat, what my father said to me when I was but a boy during the Ten Year Famine:"
His voice erupts into a proud roar.

"The most precious thing in this world, is your own PEOPLE."

"Words lost on many today in this world. But here in Zelenyrossiya we understand!--"

He begins to gesture wildly as he roars again.

"For our people, and the sake of our people... We will SUFFER and we will STRUGGLE. And never SLACKEN. And never SLEEP. And never DESPAIR. And never SURRENDER."

Klaninov bangs his prosthetic fist into the podium with each "never," before standing back up proudly to his full height to revel in the applause, louder than ever before. He turns to leave promptly, the crowd still cheering for several minutes after his leave.
