Commonwealth Mounted Police Intercept Would-Be "Freedom Fighters": The CMP has announced it has taken a group of six armed men into custody after they surrender to a CMP border patrol in the heavily forested Cascadia Zone - according to the men they had been lost in the woods for three days before encountering the border patrol and were suffering from dehydration and exposure. During interrogation, it was uncovered by CMP officers the men were part of a self-identified militia group, the "New Sons of Zion", and were attempting to cross into Sylvania to ambush a Federation border patrol in retaliation for what they described as crimes against the Jewish people. All six men are native Marchers and according to the preliminary investigation they are heterodox converts to Judaism influenced by the writings of the late Nathaniel Silver, a notorious revolutionary from the civil war who proclaimed himself a new King David and attempted to establish a new Kingdom of Israel - though he took his own life less than a year later when Commonwealth troops swept aside his fanatical but ill-disciplined "Heavenly Host". Silver's writings have nonetheless continued to circulate and have repeatedly surfaced in connection with terrorist plots. Silver's writings are among those proscribed according to the Third Sedition Act.

The CMP does not believe the men are part of a larger network and characterizes the plot as "amateurish" - the men attempted to navigate the border crossing using cellphones, though the area they picked to attempt it does not have cellular coverage - but the Senate has reportedly dispatched a Grand Inquisitor to conduct a full inquest into the circumstances behind the abortive plot. Reportedly the men are likely to face charges under the Insurrection Act of 1999, which carries a mandatory death sentence. As three of the men are known to have worked legally in the Federation as tradesmen in the past the CMP plans to share all available intelligence on them with their Sylvanian counterparts.

The Federation thanks our Marcher neighbors for their vigilance and quick reaction to a terrorist plot against our border patrol officers. We shall take your shared intelligence on the suspects and investigate if there are any more operatives working within the Federation.

Apostolikes Kunungasrikases Walhandbátin /// Apostolic Kingdom's Foreign Ministry

There are many, sadly, in this world that might lay claim to a thorough an understanding of the threats posed to the health and stability of a nation by sectarianism. Among that often miserable fraternity, we feel there are few with such a broadly unfortunate understanding as that forced upon West March and the Far Western peoples, and for this you will always have our sympathies and best wishes.

That your nation is yet still beset by malefactors such as these, perhaps the most ancient foes to Christendom and the Civilization borne by and from it, is a horror of unspeakable magnitude, and one that must not be forgotten or ignored by the Sons and Daughters of Christ in any nation, wherever they be found. Even after they have done so much to commit their adoptive home to an irradiated inferno, this so-called "Heavenly Host" persists in doing the devil's work, and likely always will - until their evil creed is torn up, root and stem, never to poison your soil again.

With my warmest regards, and prayers for the continued recovery and restoration of West March,

Ortolf T. Bawer,
His Apostolic Majesty's Foreign Minister
Apostolic Kingdom of Vistarika

Redstone Capital Corporation Touts Success of Bond Offering
Edmond Rosewater, President of Redstone Capital Corporation - West March's largest private equity firm by assets-under-management - recently touted the success of his companies high-yield bond auctions in Sylvania and Eiffelland as evidence of the soundness of his business practices. Redstone Capital has gained notoriety for its involvement in the tax harvest, Rosewater pioneered the practice of acting as an intermediary between harvesters and Zone administrations, advancing tax revenue then collecting from the licensed harvesters. Though far from the only equity firm involved in the harvest Redstone remains, in the words of President Rosewater, the "First and the best". According to the company they are "heavily involved" in the finances of more than 20 zones.

"When you go to the hospital. When you turn on the lights. That's me. That is the money my company delivered on time, in full" is how Rosewater answered the question of how he responds to allegations Redstone associates with Harvesters engaged in corrupt or criminal activities. Most recently the longtime Redstone client Watson Detective Group entered bankruptcy after three members of the board of directors were convicted of commissioning the murder of an executive at a rival firm - in response to which Redstone asserts it immediately and permanently all business ties. He has repeatedly denied in person and through his intermediaries that his company is involved in any way with known criminals.

Third-party analysts are also bullish. Ulrich Jung, an independent financial analyst based in Eiffelland who specializes in Emerging Markets, told the Western Sentinel: "The success Redstone Capital has had raising money internationally is good news for West March. While we in the international community cannot overlook ethical concerns related to the tax harvesting system in West March it cannot be overlooked that reliable public services & utilities are what is powering the recovery in West March. These cannot function without a reliable flow of government revenue. By helping to guarantee the revenue of local governments in West March middlemen like Redstone are, I believe, materially contributing to a better credit rating for West March, which is critical if its laudable fiscal stimulus policies are to continue unabated."
