The Northern Cooperatives wish to secure an agreement with the government of Caledonia in the security of the Yagir Straits (the native name for the strait separating our two lands). Our intentions is to secure free passage for both parties through these straits in addition to free passage for the Northern Cooperatives through the White Sea. This would include defensive and security vessels operated by our joint navies in addition to trade vessels. By having safe access, it would also come with the stipulation that Caledonia is permitted to have access to the Rigustad Economic Zone, where any companies would be able to function at will.

The High Kingdom of Caledonia sees itself as mature member of the international scene with a long tradition of pragmatism hailing from the glory days of the Obsidian Empire. Thus, the High Kingdom has a long standing relationship with Kadikistan and the socialist states to the south and east which, while went from benign rivalry to outright undeclared war, has been legislated by the High North Status Quo Treaty signed in 1957.

The signing of this treaty has normalised the relations between Kadikistan and Caledonia and both sides decided to go on the path of peace, with Kadikistan not supporting revolutionary movements in the Obsidian Realm, neither Caledonia supporting counter-revolutionary insurgencies in Sarmatia.

While we believe that the aforementioned treaty presents the general rights and duties for good neighbourliness and it applies to all the Rurikgrad Nations, the High Kingdom is glad to enter into direct discussions with the Northern Realms too.

We will respect the neutrality of Northern ships travelling throughout the Sunrise Strait and we put our hopes that a gentleman's agreement towards respecting each other's sovereignty is to be signed. We are glad to hear of the opening of the Rigustad Economic Zone and we will forward this news to the interested parties.

Rest assured that our peoples have no designs for conquest or even combat with our Caledonian neighbor. While our political systems are markedly different, Caledonia's sovereignty is certainly secure from any meddling by the Northern Realms. Our government stands by sensible precedent.
