National ~ Palmira, San José: Another decisive victory for Los Tricolores was achieved, as they matched up against the national fútbol team from @Rheinbund, widely considered by analysts to be the third best team in the Copa Mundial, giving the Josefinos no easy paths to the championship. Despite a struggling start in the first half, with the world-renowned Rheinish fútbol proving to be a challenge for the more flowing and flashy Josefinos to keep up with, halftime proved to be just what the Josefinos needed to reset and play to their strengths, overwhelming the Rheinish and scoring two quick goals in succession to secure a decisive 2-0 victory. In front of a sold out pitch in Palmira, filled to the brim with an estimated 110,000 fans, Los Tricolores have ensured that they've made the next match for the Rheinish as difficult as possible to come back from, though Coach Xavier Santander has warned both the team and the fans from becoming too confident. "Remember the first half, we struggled in the first half for a reason, despite us playing our game and riding the momentum of victory. The Rheinish are excellent fútbol players, and we can never underestimate their capabilities." Throughout the match, Los Tricolores also wore as a patch in the colors of their defeated rivals Los Torrientes the number of the recently deceased Fabio Gomez, the goalkeeper of @Corrientes who was brutally assassinated following their elimination a few days ago. Before the match as well, both teams and the fans observed a moment of near perfect silence in memory of the Correntino as a sign of grief and respect for a fallen athlete. The team has confirmed they will wear this patch to the end of the tournament regardless of result.

International ~ @Gran-Occidentia, Implaria, y San José: An additional matches were completed in the Copa Mundial de Fútbol, with only one other clear victory and two ties. In Puerto Ángeles, Gran-Occidentia, the Grañese national team Los Verdes fought the Lannisters of @Radilo to a 2-2 tie, as did the Implarian Los Vinostintos against the Dragons of the East from @Tianlong in Cabo de la Paz. Lastly, @The Federation was able to eke out a close 1-0 victory over the Pirates from Caria, though who are the favorites to advance into the third round remains difficult to say.

National ~ Costa Ron, San José: Heightened security plus a sudden influx in population has left the city of Costa Ron in chaos and confusion imminently prior to the second and final matchup between San José's own Los Tricolores and the Rheinbund national team. Observers have blamed incompetent and lackluster crowd management and poor planning in logistics on the current situation in the Josefino city, with residents doing their best to take matters into their own hands and help redirect and house the fans who have travelled to Costa Ron to watch the odds-on favorites in the Copa Mundial press forward to the championship. Authorities from Palmira have also arrived to assist in regaining some form of control and organization prior to the match and improvised watch parties throughout the city and surrounding area to ensure the residents aren't overwhelmed by the influx. Mayor Sebastián Prats of Costa Ron has, meanwhile, been receiving increasing amounts of criticism for his handling of the affair, being derided as El Presidente con Descuento and accused of trying to emulate the visiting El Presidente without being properly prepared or even capable of the task. El Presidente declined to directly comment on his assessment of Mayor Prats, but notably he focused on "the individual and spontaneous efforts of Josefinos in the city of Costa Ron who have proven themselves more than capable of the task of dealing with unprecedented influxes of los fieles del fútbol to their homes. I've already heard from Palmiran advisors in the area who've told me that their jobs have been made easier by the people laying the groundwork for them, and this is truly admirable and a model for other Josefinos to learn from and follow going forward."

National ~ Costa Ron, San José: Los Tricolores have advanced into the third round, the semi-finals of the Copa Mundial de Fútbol and the last hurdle to overcome before the championship that some Josefino fans are already considering a guarantee, with their team thus far being undefeated with two victories and two draws throughout the tournament. Coach Xavier Santander praised his team with their patience and ability to play "some of the most challenging fútbol of their careers, maintaining the style we are world-renowned for, so-called salsa fútbol, while also adjusting to the styles and strategies of two excellent teams, first the Correntinos and now the Rheinbunders." Having dispatched two of the toughest teams the world has to offer, Los Tricolores now face the Lannisters from @Radilo, who were not expected to advance as far as they have with a loss, two victories, and a draw, but advance they have through both Monterrey and @Gran-Occidentia. Speaking of the Radilans, Team Captain Rodrigo Leon Avila was brief in his description, "they're resilient, they're stubborn, and they've fought every step of the way to be here. They deserve to be here, but we need to show that we deserve the championship."

International ~ @Corrientes y San José: The Final Four of Copa Mundial de Fútbol are established, but not without stubborn resistance from those who were dispatched. Of the three other matches were played only that by @The Federation was decisive, who in Pirané, Corrientes, eked out another close 1-0 victory over the Pirates from Caria and eliminated them from contention. In Rio Verde meanwhile, the Grañese national team Los Verdes stubbornly held on against the Lannisters of @Radilo, ending regulation in a 2-2 tie and only being eliminated after three rounds of penalty kicks, initially promising to be the closest and most intense match of the day. That, however, belongs to the matchup between the Implarian Los Vinostintos against the Dragons of the East from @Tianlong in El Huecú. Another 2-2 tie in regulation forced an eventual six rounds of penalty kicks, a duel that only ended with a Tianese goal bringing ecstatic cheers of relief and celebration of outstanding fútbol on display. The Radillans shall face the Josefinos, while the Federation will meet the Tianese on the pitch, a truly international final four worthy of celebration.
