Railway disaster on the Selva Mainline. Seventeen wounded, five dead

A great tragedy has hit Estado de Sipe Sipe, as the express train that was travelling from the capital city of Callao to the state's capital of Ciudad de Sipe Sipa has derailed 18 kilometres before the Heredia station, in the middle of the jungle, at the foothills of the Sierra Del Sur. The derailment took place because the train travelled at normal speed over soft track, which was damaged by last night's heavy rains, the heavy weight of the train causing a landslide, destroying the foundations of the track and the train crashed, overturning on the right side.

Initially, it was reported that only the conductors have been killed in the accident, but later reports have updated the list of dead to five, the other three being critically wounded and dying before aid has reached them. A special train from Heredia with doctors and nurses has been set up to provide aid at the crash site and by now has managed to transport the passengers in the aforementioned city. The track between kilometres 22 and 15 before Heredia has been closed off and the local units of the armed forces have been mobilised to aid to the wounded and to aid with the clearing of the debris and the reinforcement of the track.

The Selva Express is the flagship passenger train of the Selva Occidental Railway Company, a private company owned by don Francisco Ocampo, one of the leading industrialists that campaigned for the development of infrastructure in the selva, whose company has gained loans and grants from the state to build the mainline to Ciudad de Sipe Sipe, representing the main backbone of transportation between the lowlands in the jungle with the coast and the pampas.

The monumental construction of the mainline has proved to be much harder than any has expected as the clay soils found in the lowlands made the construction for the foundation of the track extremely hard to build and with the heavy rains encountered in the region, continuous maintenance is required for the track to be kept safe for use. While the Selva Occidental Railway Company has been known to be the main link between the selva lowlands and the pampas, this monopoly did not make it a very profitable investment, as a lot of freight transportation is still done one the Rio Madre de Dios and Rio Patacamaya which allow a maritime connection with the main cities like Callao or Santander or Amarete. At the same time, the line is his by frequent disruptions, with this morning's derailment being the gravest accident as of yet on it.

His Excellency Mateo Restrepo, president of the Republic has announced that he will travel from Callao to Heredia during the day to meet with the victims and he will form a committee whose duty will be to audit the state of the railway track and to check to see if the Selva Occidental Railway Company will be able to open up traffic after the repairs on the sector between kilometres 22 and 15 on the Heredia department, or will there will be many more repairs needed. Don Francisco Ocampo has stated that the company is usually thorough in its safety checks and in the maintenance of the railway and has protested against the rumours of a prolonged closure of the line, stating that it is already had to keep the company not sinking, even without this.

The Selva Express leaves two times a day from Callao towards the Selva, once at 10:00 in the morning and afterwards at 6:00 in the evening, while from Ciudad de Sipe Sipe, it leaves at 9:00 and at 15:00. Travel time between the two cities averages at around 14 hours. As all of the rolling stock of the Selva Occidental Railway Company, it uses Eiffellander imported locomotives and carriages.

OTHER NEWS

Another Scandal in the Congress: Members of the Congress from the National Democratic Party have blocked the session of the Congress with yet another filibustering session of speeches, calling again for the reformation of the Republic and it's centralisation. The session has started at noon and has finished at 3:00 in the morning, with the National Democrats blocking much of the debate on the bills queued for today. The scandal ensued when congressmen from the Nationalist Revolutionary Movement have started calling them out, with only the prompt intervention of the President of the Congress keeping the two sides from becoming too violent verbally and especially physically.
Tango Tour: The Ramon Lacasa Tango Orchestra will tour the Republic, this month, with concerts organised at restaurants Floral, Maido and Central in Callao, but also in the Unidad Park of Aitabamba, El Escondite in Cartagena, and in La Pastelaria in San Pedro.

We will not forget that it is the common faith in Christ that bounds together the Republic and the Most Serene Order and that it is with faith in Christ alone that we can push through all the issues that life throws towards us, hopeful that we will manage to get on top of everything.

The Ministry of Heath will cooperate with the Knightly Order's Chapter in Callao and will thank you for your support. The hospital in Heredia has been the centre point of the operation to aid the wounded and the distressed from the tragedy and has received a delegation of doctors and nurses bringing supplies from the capital itself. We can happily state that we have managed to stabilise many of the wounded and as of yet none are in a critical condition. The aid coming from the Knights will be forwarded to the victims and to the families of the deceased.

Haciendados report record breaking foreign exports

Hanciendas Yorba, San Jose, Viva, ancient names filled with prestige and history are brought into the contemporary day in a wave of modernisation that sees record breaking harvests of coffee, quinoa, rice, maize and potatoes only found in Occidentia, cotton and tropical fruits as they band together under modern names such as Fedecafe, Avidesa, Campollo and other types of corporations.

Out of those, the greatest name of this renaissance of Correntine industrical scale agriculture is Fedecafe, it's name coming from the Federation of Coffee Growers, whose outputs have clearly cemented Corriente's position as one of the world's greatest producer of coffee, a liquid that would have made even the Gods of Ancient Pelasgia envious.

Using the branding of a northern Gaucho, with his slouch hat and poncho, Fedecafe has managed to make Correntine coffee known around the globe, as they are exporting it to Gallo-Germania, Himyar and Touyou and fuelling an explosion in coffee consumption and the cementing of a real culture regarding it in nations such as Auraria, Eiffelland, Remion, Jutegn, the United Republics and Petits-Pays.

Other important Correntine exports that push the economical growth of the Republic are nitrates whose extraction industry has exploded during the Great War, natural fertilisers coming from the guano found in Estado Ayacucho, but also cattle, cotton, rubber and tropical woods. While transport towards Gallo-Germania would have been easier if a direct and reliable connection would exist between Corrientes and the Republic of Gran-Occidentia's ports on the Thaumantic, something complicated by the existence of the Sierra Dorada and the Selva, the merchant navy of the United Republic crisscrosses the Implarian towards Touyou and goes round Cabo del Sur into the Thaumantic to reach Gallo-Germania.

"We are happy to stated that in the current year, we had record productions in the haciendas, with coffee representing as much as 70% of the total products exported by the United States of Corrientes. The development in the infrastructure especially on the coast and the highland areas are providing us with better ways to make labour more efficient and increase the exports of the republic," stated don Aarón Gaos, State Sub-Secretary of economy.

The prime position the haciendas specialised in coffee production but also in livestock have over the Correntine economy, have made critics of the ruling party, the Nationalist Revolutionary Movement say that there is a political machine dubbed "Cafe con Leche", coffee with milk, through which coffee planters on one side and the cattle ranchers on the other influence different factions within the party. Some go as far as stating that this system extends to the other parties in opposition too.

OTHER NEWS
Navy announces exercises:
Admiral Elias Saavedra, supreme commander of the Correntine Navy and the Minister of the Navy has announced that the navy will organise a series of exercises in the Implarian Ocean, quite close to the coasts of the Baltras Isles. The exercises will be headed by the flagship of the Correntine navy, the Engellexic built battleship Cahuide, which will be joined by it's sister ship Pumacahua, a frigate and five corvettes.
Committee formed for the Heredia disaster: His Excellency, President Mateo Restrepo has announced the formation of the committee that will travel in the Selva to Heredia to audit the state of the tracks and the maintenance of the rolling stock of the Selva Occidental Company, whose flagship passenger train, the Selva Express, travelling from Callao to Ciudad de Sipe Sipa has derailed recently, killing five and wounding 17.

Feminist and socialist groups protest for suffrage

The suffragette group "Mujeres por la Democracia Correntina" together with members of the APRePO 'Alianza Popular Revolucionaria Pan-Occidental' (Pan-Occidental Popular Revolutionary Alliance), and the Radical Civic Party, have come up together in Plaza 15 de Septiembreto protest against the current status of the voting franchise of the United States of Corrientes. The authorities have allowed the demonstration to take place, but with heavy police presence ready to intervene in case of disturbances and chaos.
You must be registered for see images

The Correntino law states that suffrage is given to males only, but only if they tick a series of conditions, a wealth one, which states that they need to be financially emancipated, meaning that they need to have a job or a plot of land that provides subsistence year round, an education one, which means that they have to be literate, this condition also gives the right to vote to students whose fathers do have the right to vote, and a cultural one, meaning that they need to be members of the Tiburan Catholic Church and to speak, read and write in Aurarian.

The current laws have been imposed in 1899, when the last constitution was adopted after the last civil war, where progressive forces have ended a truly wealth based system where only the city bourgeoisie and the haciendados had the right to vote, bringing the wealth factor so down that one only needs a steady job to be able to register to vote.

"We believe that a truly democratic society respects all its members and with that, women should not be excluded from the electoral process. The reason why Mujeres pro la Democracia Correntina exists is to push for the continuation of the expansion of the suffrage franchise to give women a right to vote too. Since the Great War, the process for the emancipation of women has gone smoothly at great speeds and we see today women in factories, having jobs, being emancipated, not depending on their fathers or on their husbands, living life independently. This should mean that they check all the conditions of the electoral law to have the right to vote. We are here to make our voices heard and to push for the transformation of the United States into a real democracy," stated señora Florencia Correa, the chairwoman of Mujeres pro la Democracia Correntina group.

While there has been no great disturbance during the demonstration, the protesters blocked traffic in the Plaza 15 de Septiembre, earning them the protests of commuters that had to drive on the adjacent roads to avoid the blocked intersection, while tram lines going through the area have been completely blocks. Tram and omnibus services towards Chorillos and Rímac have managed to restart only very late in the afternoon.

OTHER NEWS
Ministry of Transport in negotiations with Petits Pays: The ministry of transport has stated that they have started negotiations with the government of Petits Pays with the goal to find investors for the creation of something revolutionary, a joint transport company specialised in aerial transport. After their efficient use in the great war, the Ministry of Transport wishes to create a Correntine airline company that would offer passenger and postal services around the United States and even up in the Republic of Gran-Occidentia.
Great Premiere in the cinemas: Director Oscar Chicote's greatest work as of yet, María de Nadie will premiere at the Rialto cinema in the Jardin neighbourhood of Callao. Starring the great actress Valeria Villa in the main roll, the movie tells the story of the daughter of an impoverished haciendado, who has to choose between the love of her life or the duty towards her family to bring them back to prominence and prosperity.

Ministry of Industry in talks to create a state owned mining Bank

Led by Ramón Fonseca, a known supporter of centralism and protectionism, the Ministry of Industry has issued an official statement in which they expressed their plans for the future, including the creation of Bamin, Banco Miniero, the Mining Bank, whose role will be to process all the transactions of the mining companies operating withing the territory of the United States of Corrientes. This is the next step after Minister Fonseca has managed to convince his excellency, president Mateo Restrepo, that the mining industry, especially the extraction of tin and nitrates must be considered a strategic industry of the United States.

While traditionally, the Nationalist Revolutionary Movement has been promoting a laissez faire economic policy of free trade and little to no state intervention, In the twenty eight years it managed to remain in power, it always managed to adapt in its policies, becoming what some analyst have described as a big tent party. The disruption of trade during the great war and the economic problems that followed have made more and more people to see state intervention as being necessary to keep the industries afloat, and this is being observed by more and more of the new generation of the politicians pressing for an interventionist economic policy, especially in core sectors which are being described as strategic for the safety of the nation, the people and their sovereignty.

In such an environment, his excellency, President Mateo Restrepo has nominated politicians of this new post-war generation in key sectors such as the ministry of finance, the ministry of economy, the ministry of industry, of forestry and of peasant affairs. With his excellency minister Ramón Fonseca heading the ministry of industry and also being the leader of the "interventionist caucus" in the Congress, part of the Nationalist Revolutionary Movement.

The proposal, which is currently still in talks, will oversee the creation of a new state owned bank, called Bamin, the Mining Bank, which will be only business oriented and will deal with all the transaction that are made by the mining companies of the United States, both inside the nation and also for import-export. The proposal is based on the fears the ministry of finance has that much of the money and the profits of the mining corporations don't return back into the country, but rather go to the overseas as all sorts of classified transaction, something that the minister of finance, his excellency Vicente Galán, has described as a "subtle form of economical exploitation and colonialism".

"We are already hearing critical voices stating that this is a step towards nationalisation. I must tell you all, that it is not. Through this, we want to create more transparency, to see exactly where the profits from the mining industry go and to keep our nation and our natural resources to be exploited with little to no royalties coming into the state budget. This must change and our behaviour towards economical development must change too as we must create a framework in which the nation doesn't only surrender its resources, but rather is a viable economical and business partner too," stated his excellency, Ramón Fonseca, the minister of industry.

Some analysts have stated that this might be coming as part of the lobby of the cattle ranchers or the coffee haciendados, which see their economical influence diminished by the rise of the mining corporations, which currently pay far less taxes and royalties to the state than them. The proposal will have to go first through a series of economical commissions, then receive a signature from the ministry of finance and then be adopted as a bill by the Congress and then signed by the President to be fully enforced. Some of the critics, many which are miner haciendados hope to block the proposal at the Supreme Court after it becomes a bill.

River transports, still viable: An increase of the goods transported between Corrientes and Gran Occidentia has been observed between the Correntine city of Oruro and the Occidentian capital Puerto Angeles. This shows that the river transports are still viable and Rio Bravo is still a very important element to Correntine trade, as goods need to reach a port of the Thaumantic to make transportation much easier, rather than have ships leave Callao and have to go around the Southern Cape of the continent.
Local Tauritanians celebrate: Local celebrations have been observed in Callao, Cartagena and San Sebastian by communities of Tauritanian ancestry, as they are celebrating the creation of the first local government of the province, which fully cements Tauritania's position as an autonomous community in Auraria.

The Knights of St. Joseph encourage the efforts of His Excellency, Minister Ramón Fonseca to ensure that the Correntino people and lands are not exploited by the avaricious, whether from within or without. We pray that other members of the Correntino government work closely with Minister Fonesca to bring this proposal from concept to reality, and most importantly ensure that this proposed Mining Bank does not fall into corruption but, rather, follows its sacred duty in ensuring that the Correntino people share in the prosperity the Lord has granted their lands along with the rest of the world.

Medical Breakthrough as Correntine doctors develop consumption vaccine

Consumption, academically known as tuberculosis, is a horrible disease that affects tens of thousands of people world wide, more than one in six deaths in Europe being caused by it. Tuberculosis has two stages, a latent stage, in which a person might be infected with the pathogenic bacteria that causes the disease, but shows no symptoms. In this stage, it is believed that it is highly unlikely to become contagious. In about one in five cases, the latent tuberculosis activates, causing chronic cough with blood-containing mucus, fever, night sweats, and weight loss. In many cases it affects other organs, causing a plethora of other symptoms. It is estimated that about three quarters of the ones reaching the active stage die from the disease, as it primary affects the lungs. It has been called the disease of the urban poor as it affects mostly the urban slums with huge population density through it's method of transmision being through the air from one person to the other.
At the San Sebastian University of Medicine, the Department of Research has announced that they have managed to reach a breakthrough as continuous testing has shown that an efficient vaccine might have been discovered and hopefully will bring an end to this pest against humanity. Doctors Esteban Camillo and Hernan Gutierrez have worked together managing to isolate an attenuated form of the tuberculosis bacteria which can be found in cattle. Named BCG after the name of it's developers, the vaccine will give the human body the chance to meet with this innofensive form of the bacteria, giving it the change to develop antibodies for immunity so that it can protect the body against the real enemy, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which affects primarily humans. Tests on the vaccine will continue as the two doctors want to test the effects of the vaccine against leprosy too, hopeful that it might aid in combating that disease too.
"We are extremely proud in the efforts of our two hero doctors, senor Esteban Camillo and senor Hernan Gutierrez for their efforts in trying to make life more bearable for the unfortunate that have been affected by such horrendous diseases and in protecting our children and the future generations by developing vaccines through which the posterity will meet with illnesses only in history books. Their development will not only provide a better life for all the Correntines, as currently in the Estados Unidos tuberculosis is the cause for one in four deaths, but in the whole world, as only through international cooperation we can fight against threats that affect the whole of humanity," stated his excellency, Saúl Alvarado, the Minister of Health.

Until tuberculosis is to be eradicated, public spitting remains illegal and a fined offence. The Ministry of Health recommends the use of spittoons for those who prefer to chew tobacco.

Selva Railway Comission reports are in: The governmental commission that was tasked by his excellency, President Mateo Restrepo to audit the Selva Railway Company and to check if they followed all the safety regulations and their infrastructure is in decent condition to be used, has handed in their report to the government. They have stated that the derailment has been nothing but a very tragic accident caused by the very fast deterioration of the railway foundation caused by a freak quantity of rain that has locally poured in the area. They have concluded that all the safety regulations were followed and that the track has been damaged only around the site of the derailment. After the repairs are done, the Selva Railway should return back to its normal operations.
Naval exercises staggered: The naval exercises announced earlier has been staggered in two phases after the Navy has announced today that urgent repairs have needed to be done to the engine of the flagship of the Estados Unidos Navy, the battleship Cahuide. Initially it was planned that the navy would bring it's best ships led by the sister ships Cahuide and Pumacahua, but because the flagship has been called unfit for the time being, Pumacahua will lead the exercises and will temporarily become the new flagship of the navy.

The Knights of St. Joseph heartily congratulate Doctors Esteban Camillo and Hernan Gutierrez for their efforts in emulating the Savior of the Workers through this breakthrough and encourage them to stride forward in their efforts to eradicate this disease from the face of God's earth. Consumption has ravaged the human race for centuries, and the stories of the hell it brings to each person, be they man or woman, child or elder, rich or poor, shakes the constitution of the faithful. La Republica is correct to emphasize the impact upon the working class and the wretched, however, and we pray that the hand of Christ the Liberator continues to guide the efforts of these two doctors, and indeed all medical professionals working towards alleviating the suffering of the masses.

Selvanos rise up as great corruption unfolds in the Selva Railway Scandal
A governmental leak in regards to the Selva Railway derailment has shown that much of the report in regards to the state of the Selva Railway has been forged mo hide extreme inconsistencies with the legality of the operation of the railway in regards to the safety laws of the United States of Corrientes. The original report, signed by Senor Rafael Berganza, the chairman of the Selva Audit Commission, over 600 pages long is showing the extreme problems of the railway tracks and the very bad quality of the foundation of the railway, and little to no safety checks on the trains before being put in operation. The report goes as far as to show that a safe speed limit on which trains should operate on the Selva Railway should be as low as 25 kilometres per hour, as the track is being heavily damaged by lack of maintenance in a very humid environment, prone to railway derailments and loss of life and goods should this limit not be respected.
The leak of the report has at first been published into the Selva Courier, a local newspaper and has caused extreme indignation both in Ciudad de Sipe Sipe and Heredia, cities of the Selva State, but it was the authorities response to block the publishing of the local newspaper that has brought on protests and revolts all over the Selva State, but also in the towns situated along the Selva Railway and in Callao too.
While the whereabouts of the author of the report, senor Rafael Berganza are unknown, the protesters ask for the resignation of the president of the United States, senor Mateo Felix Restrepo Gaviria, the head of the Seguridad, Cayo Molina and of the minister of transport, Benito Abasto. They also ask for the nationalisation of the Selva Railway Company and the arrest of the owner of the company, don Francisco Ocampo. The scandals ensued as the authorities have forced the publishing of the Selva report stating that the railway is in a decent state and the company should be ready to operate again as soon as possible.
"It is clear, that the government and the head of the Seguridad, Cayo Moliva, have been bribed by that parasite, Francisco Ocampo, to resume the operation on the railway, even if it is a ticking time bomb. They do not care of the people of the selva, as for them, another derailed train in here is nothing but loss of indigenous and mestizo life, something they don't even acknowledge as human. We are here to stop the corruption, so endemic in this government, as it is clear that the 30 years in power has made the Nationalist Revolutionary Movement transform into the party of corrupted oligarchs, for whom the lives of the citizens mean nothing. We are here to stay, as we are the people and we will not move, and leave, until we will see President Restrepo and Minister Abasto resign, and the leeches Cayo Molina and Francisco Ocampo arrested for their corruption," stated Santiago Magrina, the leader of a group of protesters in Heredia, as he was leading a march from the Heredia railway station to the townhall.
As of yet, about 5,000 were marching in Heredia, 7,000 in Sipe Sipe and 2,000 in Callao. About 10,000 are through to be demonstrating in the towns and villages along the Selva Railway. As of yet nobody knows exactly how the leak of the real report has taken place or who offered it for publishing in the local press, but it has been stated that about half a million Quris were received as a bribe by Cayo Molina from the heads of the Selva Railway Company, to keep their operations ongoing. The government has not yet responded to the allegations, but has asked the people to stop demonstrating and return to their homes.
You can read more details on the original Selva Report from page 3 onwards.
OTHER NEWS
The scandal in the strees is mirrored in congress: The opposition has announced that they are preparing a no-confidence motion against the government, describing the current situation as "criminal corruption". For many the face of the scandal is the head of the Federal Administration of Security (AFS), known unofficially as the Seguridad, don Cayo Molina, whom has directly negotiated with the owner of the Selva Railway Company, don Francisco Ocampo, the conditions for the resumption of railway traffic in the Selva Railway, even if the said line is unsafe for operations.

Pronunciamiento Militar!
Armed Forces protest the use of violence against the people and push for the Government's resignation

The Selva Protests have become more and more intense as the government chose to ignore the demands of the people from the Estado de Selva and the towns along the Selva Mainline and Callao, in some towns such as Heredia, Sipe Sipe and the capital, Callao, going as far as ordering a curfew and a flushing of the main transit arteries blocked by the protesters. The events took a bloody turn in Heredia, where the orders to clear the streets have not only been ignored by the protesters, but rather, have emboldened even more protesters to come out against what they saw as the governmental defence of corruption.

The number of protesters in Heredia has very quickly rose up from 5,000 in the afternoon to close to an estimated 15,000 later in the evening, with rocks, tree branches, forks being used against the Carabineros sent to calm down the spirits. The response of the Carabineros has been a full on cavalry charge upon the mob of protesters leaving many wounded and about 5 dead in the first reports coming from the town. The protesters in Callao have faced some violence too, albeit it was much tamer, as the Carabineros have employed the use of whips to clear the Calle 9 and the 15 de Septiembre Square.

In response to this violence, and any lack of remorse shown by the government or any comment at all in their defence from the accusations of blatant corruption, cronyism and favoritism, to which the accusations of crimes against the Correntino people and against the constitutional status quo of the Estados Unidos, the Armed Forces have issued a Pronunciamiento at midnight, having the same demands of the protesters, demanding the resignation of President Restrepo and his government, and the arrest of Cayo Molina, for corruption, abuse in power and crimes against the Correntino people, and of Francisco Ocampo and Benito Abasto for corruption. They also have gone as far as to demand a new, more democratic constitution, that will better represent the people of Corrientes and will make administration more efficient and have demanded an end to "criminal corruption affecting the people", the abolition of the Carabineros and the nationalisation of the Selva Railway Company.

The Pronunciamiento was signed by the National Revolutionary Junta, headed by Colonel Pedro Herrera Rasgado, a war hero from the Great War, member of the Correntino Legion of Volunteers whom have fought under the Aurarian banned in the war, but whom has also led the efforts to pacify the Selva of Corrientes, fighting against bandits and highwaymen of all sorts that preyed on the citizens of our nation. Colonel Pedro Herrera is joined in his signature by more than 60 high ranking members of the Correntino Armed Forces, both from the army and from the navy, many of them representing the generation of veterans that went to fight in the Great War as volunteers in the name of the Aurosphere, while the government in Callao decided to remain neutral.

The large number of signatories show that much of the armed forces stand besides Colonel Herrera and that very soon, the Government of President Restrepo will be forced to resign and face the accusations of corruption, violence and Anti-Correntinismo. The text of the Prounciamiento can be fully found on page 2.

In the name of God and the people of Corrientes,

The Armed Forces of the Estados Unidos, sworn to protect the people, the state and their interest, cannot simply lie and wait in their barracks orders from a corrupt government, as we see our brothers and sisters massacred and trampled by the hooves of the cavalry units of the Carabineros, as they protest for their natural, god given rights to see our united states governed justly, with no corruption, as a republic, not as the failed stated that is slowly creeping, transforming into the absolute monarchy we vowed to destroy 99 years ago, as we raised the Correntino flag high against the authority of the Viceroy in Callao.

Any member of the government, minister, or official working for it is nothing but a state clerk, a clerk that is there to serve the people, as befitting a healthy republic, not act like a colonial planter, whipping his way into the submission of the people, for the sake of his own empowerment and his own gain of wealth and richness. We will not stand by as we have seen that the Restrepo administration is nothing but the perigee of the administrations of the Nationalist Revolutionary Movement, leaving behind the efficiency and love for the people they have shown 30 years ago, and keeping only the corruption and greed.

For it is indeed problematic when one political party managed to manipulate the democratic system in such a way, creating a perfect dictatorship, in which an opposition exists, but it is only a symbol of tokenism, as the other parties always win just enough votes to have a few seats in parliament, but never enough to make a real change.

This chronic manipulation of the ballot and continuous restrictions on the voters suffrage, creates a problematic situation in which the people of Corrientes, which are close to 12 million in total, are in majority broken away from the realities of governance, as less than 3 million actually enjoy the privilege of ticking all the conditions of the electoral law. For the current government, it is only those three million that really matter, as the rest can be "put back to their place" with the help of the whip. And when those three millions are not impressed by the electoral promises that are never fulfilled, there is always voter manipulation, and fraud that the current government will always use as the aces in their sleeve.

Our declaration here is to show the nation that the armed forces is not standing behind this soul crushing corruption and petty, manipulative dictatorship hid behind the shroud of an incompatible democracy. We are stating not only to the people of Corrientes, but to the whole world, that should we be asked to turn our guns on the people, we will not do that, but rather, we will fulfil our oaths towards the nation, the people and their interests, and we will join the protesters in pushing the government into doing what they should have done from the beginning when the scandal with the derailment on the Selva Mainline started: resign and then send to trial the ones responsible.

To be sure, that such acts will not go further, we demand the resignation of the government, and the arrest of Cayo Molina, head of the Federal Administration of Security, of Francisco Ocampo, the owner of the Selva Railway Company, and of Benito Abasto, the minister of Transportation. We demand the disbandment of the Carabineros for their actions against the Correntino people, and the arrest of the carabineros guilty of ordering the attack on the protesters, both of the gendarmes holding the whip and the commanders that gave the order. We demand, the nationalisation of the Selva Railway Company and the beginning of a thorough repair and refurbishment program to the Selva Mainline, as we understand the importance of the railway for the Selvano people and to the timber industry. We demand the adoption of a new constitution, that will be much less prone to manipulation and corruption and that will enhance the voting suffrage, not only to all the men that can read or write, but also to the women. We believe that if a man is considered good enough to be conscripted into the Army, he should not be restricted from casting a vote, and for a woman, if she is ready to have a job, administer her homestead or be a mother, she will be ready enough to vote.

Our republic was born out of our idealistic dreams of how society can be more just and offer more respect to the human being, as we follow, like all our sister republics, the Aurarian Declaration of Human Rights. It is time to bring the hope for a better future back into the Correntino hearts and minds.

Signed,
Colonel Pedro Herrera Rasgado
Colonel Juan Navarro
General Tomás Alemán
Colonel Marcos Cortez
Admiral Elias Saavedra

Statement from the Chancellor of the Sylvanian Federation

When a people see that their government is corrupt it is their duty to remove them, by force if need be. The Sylvanian Federation encourages Colonel Herrera and his brothers in arms to keep fighting for the rights of his people. Have no doubt that you are doing the right thing and give the corrupt politicians no mercy for they will not have mercy for you.

Government resigns! Parliament to come together and elect a new president

As anti-corruption protests increase in intensity and the army puts pressure through it's pronunciamiento on the government of Mateo Felix Restrepo, the president and his cabinet have announced their formal resignation late last evening, with the news being given by a spokesperson towards midnight in front of a crown of 20,000 people gathered in the 15 de Septiembre Square.
You must be registered for see images
The announcement has been received ecstatically in the majority of the States of the union, especially in the coastal states of Callao and Litoral del Norte, and the selvano states of Patacamaya and Sipe Sipe, where much of the protesting and demonstrations in this revolution have taken place. Crowds have gathered in celebration in Ciudad de Sipe Sipe, Heredia, Cartagena, San Sebastian and Callao, many singing patriotic songs, waving the yellow-white-blue tricolour and holding signs and banners with patriotic slogans, reminiscing of the Revolutionary War that took place close to exactly 99 years ago against the remnant of the Aurarian monarchy that was still holding power over the countries of Occidentia, despite their demise in their homeland.
Early this morning, the army, under the command of Colonels Pedro Herrera Rasgado and Juan Navarro, have been joined by the marines of Admiral Elias Saavedra and have victoriously marched in the city of Callao, along the Carrera 3 through the Juan Negrin Square and then through Calle 9 in the applause of the people gathered in the city, with estimations stating that as many as a hundred thousand people have come out to greet the marching soldiers and to see the three commanders leading the columns on horseback.
While violence was expected between the soldiers and the Carabineros, as a consequence to the violent response of the latter against the protesters when President Restrepo was still in power and the extreme hostility shown by the armed forces in their pronunciamiento, no blood as been spilled in the past two days. The Carabineros have returned to their barracks, waiting for further orders, and are currently on standby until a new government will be invested, as they are under the command of the Ministry of the Interior.
The Congress has been rushed by the National Revolutionary Junta to start a session in which to nominate an interim president and government, whill will organise a new constitution for the country and will set up new elections. The commanders of the Junta have been adamant in their wishes to keep Correntino democracy, it's parliamentarianism and to bring a modernisation of the constitution which will see greater respect for the common citizenship. Colonel Pedro Herrera has stated that while the parliamentarians might feel pressured to appoint the new government as fast as possible, the one and only goal is to keep the country stable and not disrupt the economical life and for that, law and order must be kept and a cabinet must be created as quickly as possible.
"This revolution will represent the end of what I call the Aristocratic Republic. The era in which only wealthy landowners of today, which were the Aurarian nobles of yesteryear, had the right to vote and to participate in the political life will be ended, as we have seen how, like in an old Tiburan play, they have degraded themselves so much that they resorted to corruption to biblical scales and to violence against their own brotherly citizens. I will to hereby state that the rule of law will return in Corrientes and out great nation will again rise to greatness as it did 99 years ago. We have a duty towards our compatriots to make it so and create a healthy environment for social and economical development, all under the auspices of equality in the eyes of the law and social justice, so that even the poorest Correntio will be given a chance to pursue happiness, something that until now was impossible," stated Colonel Pedro Herrera.
OTHER NEWS
Corruption ringleaders nowhere to be found: President Restrepo's resignation, which disbanded the whole cabinet might have taken some by surprise, but not the main ringleaders in the corruption scandal that started the whole revolution. Cayo Molina, the head of the Seguridad, the person who ordered the forging of the Selva Railway Report and ordered the Carabineros to shoot to kill the protesters in Heredia, together with Francisco Ocampo, the owner of the Selva Railway Company have completely disappeared, with the police starting an investigation and going after them. Some rumours state that they might have escaped with the goal of going to Gran-Occidentia and from there to Cathiopia and further to Himyar, where they will far away from the hands of the Correntine law.

Colonel Pedro Herrera President! Congress approves his interim cabinet
Correntinos celebrate the appointment of the war hero as the new president of the Unites States

The emergency meeting of the Congress has finished after it lasted a record breaking 18 hours, with the majority of the Congressmen voting to appoint Colonel Pedro Herrera Rasgado as the interim president of the United States of Corrientes and his nominees as the new members of the new cabinet. The very quick appointment comes after ex-president Mateo Restrepo has resigned and folded in the face of the protesting crowds and the military revolting against the orders to fire at the civilians which were given by Restrepo's henchman, Cayo Molina, the head of the Seguridad. While usually the office of the president is open to direct elections from the citizens with voting rights, constitutionally, to pass quick through a crisis, the appointment of an interim cabinet and president is done by the congress, with elections to be expected within two months since the nomination.

The people of Corrientes have rose up in solidarity with the people of the Selva State, whose own demonstration against corruption has been met with extreme violence, with the final report of the cavalry charge of the Carabineros against the mass of demonstrators in Heredia showing a total of 17 deaths and 35 wounded. As the government didn't seem to budge and orders arrived to the Camps of the Armed Forces that they should mobilise to "keep the peace", the army, under the National Revolutionary Junta, led by Colonels Pedro Herrera, Juan Navarro and Admiral Elias Saavedra, have issued a statement in which they declared that they will not follow the orders of a government that is ready to oppress it's own people and gave President Restrepo a 24 hour ultimatum to resign.
The armed forces have been received with great applause by the people as they entered Callao and have received the resignation of the government, with ex-President Restrepo facing now charges of corruption and abuse in power, the Minister of Transport, Benito Abasto facing charges of corruption, and the head of the AFS, the Seguridad, Cayo Molina, together with the owner of the Selva Railway Company Francisco Ocampo are facing charges of corruption, with the formed also accused of murder and abuse of power, but both of them will be trialled in absentia as they have managed to escape and are nowhere to be found. A reward of 250,000 Quri has been posted by the National Revolutionary Junta for womever will bring the two alive to face the Federal Tribunal of Callao.
With the current decision of the congress to vote Colonel Pedro Herrera as president, the United States of Corrientes sees the youngest person to hold office in its history, as Colonel Herrera is only 33, being barely legal to hold the office. A war hero from the Great War, the colonel has been a member of the Correntine Volunteer Legion, known as the Smoking Snakes, from their unit badge showing a snake holding a pipe in its mouth. He fought in the Aurarian front, where he met made quite a lot of networking with Aurarian and Cathiopian officials. Returning home to Corrientes, he was tasked with forming the Cazadores de la Selva, the Jungle Huntsmen, which are the elite units of the Correntino Army, specialised in jungle warfare, and has been the main leader of the "Pacification of the Selva" campaign, which ended the endemic banditry that made life hell for the citizens of the western fringes of the nation, native and criollo alike.
Colonel Hererra has promised the modernisation of the nation which will be done both economically through industrialisation and through infrastructure development, but also a political one, which will enlarge the voting franchise and will organise a new, more centralist political system that will avoid all the blockages and issues of the current federal one.
"Our political program is tame de jure, but radical de facto, for we do not want to bring anything more radical than what was put on paper in the first constitution of our nation, 99 years ago, but rather we will build a system through which we want to see the constitution and the laws respected. The United States of Corrientes were created when, in the midst of the Aurarian revolution, the Correntinos have revolted against the authority of the Viceroy and have proclaimed a republic based on equity, equality in front of the law, where the shackles of cemented social stratification imported from Gallo-Germania would have been thrown away in the dustbin of history. This republic was built on the dreams of freedom and respect for one's fellow citizens and we are here to be sure that this will be the case again. The views of our founding fathers, los libertadores, will be accomplished as I will use their vision as the framework for the political reformation I plan in my interim position as president. I promise to all Correntinos listening here in front of the Casa Azul and on the radio, that there will be no military government or a military dictatorship incoming. Our duty here is exactly to see how democracy can be expanded and how more citizens can be active in the public life of the nation. There will be a future and it will be golden!" stated Colonel Pedro Herrera in front of the crowds gathered in the 15 de Septiembre Square in Central Callao after his official appointment as interim president.

Chimu Mania hits the nation: The news on the launch of the Treasures of T'ho museum exhibition in Gran-Occitania has inflamed spirits across the United States of Corrientes, with local museums in the Sierra publishing articles advertising their own collections and bringing a new wave of interest into the history of the Chimu, the biggest indigenous population still extant in Corrientes. The National History Museum in Callao has stated that they are ready to respond with a grand exhibition on the Chimu and the Iake cultures in the pre-Aurarian phase.
Tango Orchestra settles down: The Ramon Lacasa Tango Orchestra, the most famous tango singers of the tropics, have finished their national tour for this year and have signed a contract with the great restaurant and ballroom Maido, situated in central Callao, along the seafront at the intersection between Calle 1 and Diagonal 15. The Orchestra will perform every evening from Thursday to Sunday and the entry will be 75 Centavos on Thursday and Sunday evenings and 1 Quri on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Christian Franco Lain (CFL): We are back and you are tuning in to the Radiodifusora Nacional del Corrientes. In the studio with me is his excellency, Colonel Juan Navarro, the newly appointed vice-President. Your excellency, the the National Revolutionary Junta, has worked together with the congress to see the aspirations of the people respected against the previous government. What is next in plan for you, the Junta and his excellency, President Pedro Herrera Rasgado?
Juan Navarro (JN): Thank you for having me, Señor Franco, and thank you to your colleagues at the Radiodifusora Nacional. I must, first and foremost mention again, that what we have accomplished was not a coup d'etat, as some of our critics would have it painted as, but rather, what we did was to take a stand against the order the government and the Seguridad had given for the army to mobilise and squash the protesters. The government has resigned at its own decision, seeing that they have no way of suppressing the demonstrations and everything that followed, the nomination of the interim government included, has been done constitutionally through the congress, by the congress. We know that constitutionally, the interim government lasts up to two months and at the end, it can either be renewed with a new two month mandate, after which elections are compulsory. What we want is to actually see elections take place as quickly as possible. We do not want to disrespect the will of the people and our citizens by forcing a government which they won't support upon them. The main goal for this interim government is a constitutional reform.
CFL: So, a new constitution? Where will this put it on probably the main political axis of Corrientes, not the left-right one, but the centralist-federalist one?
JN: Interestingly, our plan is to make it centrist, in that way. Both me, and my colleague, Presidente Herrera have been a part of the Smoking Snakes and have seen the best and the worst of Auraria during the Great War. We have seen Federalism at work in Corrientes, but also Centralism in our Gallo-Germanian sister republic. We believe that the tug of war between federalism and centralism, which has cursed our motherland for so much in the past century must end, and some form of compromise that is acceptable to both parties must be reached. We cannot simply let our nation be divided like this any longer. We have seen how federalism has been corrupted by the likes of Cayo Molina, Mateo Restrepo and the cafe con leche hacidendados, and how they have transformed it into a modern form of feudalism. No, we must modernise it. We must allow the states be themselves, defend their local autonomy, economies and cultures, but we must not let them slip into such chaos as it was until now, where we see them transformed into the personal fiefs of corrupted administrators.
CFL: Are there any social and economic plans for the interim government?
JN: The main issue now is to create this new constitution and provide the modernised framework within which the Correntino society will function. Then our objective will be to organise new elections. I can unveil now the fact that President Pedro Herrera plans to discuss with the leaders of the opposition, and the spokespersons of the civil society that have led the protest to create the National Radical Party, and we will participate in elections in that form.
CFL: What would be the policies and the positions of this new, National Radical Party?
JN: Our plan is to begin a developmental phase in the nation, in which the state will be active in improving the infrastructure, and will actively support and sponsor industrialisation. Our aim is to develop a strong internal market with state intervention, as currently, the laissez fare policies of the old parties have made the people more and more impoverished, as the nation is seen worldwide only good to export timber and coffee, nothing else. We plan to expand the voting franchise, and allow women to vote too, taking down the wealth conditions, thus giving the right to vote to everyone who is literate, irrespective of their biological sex, social standing, or even private religious faiths. Presidente Herrera is also adamant in starting a nation wide education campaign, to see the development and building of schools allover Corrientes, from the coast to the Sierra or the Selva.
CFL: Some critics from the Nationalist Revolutionary Movement, close to ex-President Restrepo have said in Congress that what happened in the last week can be described as a communist revolution. What would be your response to it.
JN: *laughs* That is... I don't even have the words to describe how absurd that idea is. In our program, what we want to see is the nation develop and rise into a golden age, and for that, we want to improve the life of the people. Nowhere in our plan did we talk about the end of the private property or ending the private ownership of the means of production. Whomever said that are clearly malevolent and want to pain us in terrible colours so that we would lose international but also middle and upper class support. No! A revolution is something that brings instability. What we want is exactly the oposite, to keep the United States as a stable nation in Occidentia and make it a vanguard of progress and prosperity. What we will see and we plan to do, should we win the election, will be revolutionary, as we plan to take the nation out from this dark abyss of mismanagement, and modernise it. What we want to see is that the people, Correntino citizens won't live like animals, and will be given the chance to pursue hapiness, as stated in the original pronunciamiento declared 99 years ago when we began our War of Independence.
CFL: Thank you, you excellency! Esteemed dames y caballeros, that was Colonel Juan Navarro, the new interim vice-president of the Estados Unidos of Corrientes. We continue our transmissions here at the Radiodifusora Nacional with some music and after that, the premiere episode from our newest radio-novela, Paulina.

President Herrera presents draft of new constitution

After more than a week of work after the Azul Revolution, working tirelessly, his excellency, Interim President Pedro Herrera Rasgado has presented in front of the Congress, the draft of the new constitution that he has worked on which will fulfil the aspirations of the people whom have revolted against the corruption of the oligarchs which have captured the state and governed it as their personal fief. After the reading in the congress, the constitution will be voted on by the members of the legislative and then a plebiscite will be organised for the people to give their final approval.

The new constitution is set to replace the current status quo, to safeguard against local oligarchs transforming their states into their very own personal domains, and thus giving more authority to the central government in Callao. Based on the Aurarian experiment with Tauritania, the states would function not as confederated entities as they did until now, but rather as devolved territorial administrations, which will need to cooperate more closely with the central government.

Besides the centralist character of the constitution, the new document is to expand electoral franchise and take down the last wealth based conditions on the vote and also give the right to vote to women too, as it will expand the franchise to anyone above 21 who is literate, be them employed or unemployed, man or woman. For the first time too, members of the armed forces will be given the right to vote too.

In a very revolutionary way compared to now, the new constitution acknowledges social rights, not only civil ones and nominates thus a national minimum wage, the eight-hour workday, mandatory weekly rest, paid vacations and indemnity for unmotivated firing. The constitution will also create a Labour Court which will function inside the Callao tribunal and will solve labour issues between workers and employees, with the goal of "keeping social concord" in the Republic, while also improving the lives of the citizens.

The new congress that will be formed will be tricameral, with a Chamber of Representatives, replacing the current congress as the lower house, a Chamber of the States, which will function as an upper house, to ensure correct representation of all the sub-states of the republic and a third, corporate chamber which will offer representation to universities, employer unions, trade unions and other professional organisations, which will be consultative only.

Party wise, the new constitution will transform the current multi-party system into a two party system, a change that is being defended for it's "streamlining of the political and electoral process". It is meant to avoid legislative blockages. The current parties will be amalgamated in two parties, the National Revolutionary Party, which will be termed the Partido Azul, and the Democratic Front, which will be termed the Partido Blanco. The cores of those new parties will be the Nationalist Revolutionary Movement and its politics for the Partido Azul and the National Democratic Party for the Partido Blanco.

"Our duty here is to make the administration of the state more efficient and to be sure that the people are better represented so as to escape future corruption and state capture. This new constitution is but an updated version of the previous one, giving its citizens the same duties and protections, but further expanding their rights. We will organise a referendum to see if the people approve with those constitutional changes, and if not, we will form a Citizens' Council where they can actively discuss what constitutional changes they want to see," stated his excellency, President Pedro Herrera Rasgado.

OTHER NEWS
Corruption Investigation begins: The Ministry of the Interior has begun its investigation on the corruption and abuse in power allegations against ex-President Restrepo, Cayo Molina, the head of the Seguridad, Benito Abasto, the ex-Minister of Transportation and Francisco Ocampo, the owner of the Selva Railway Company. As of yet, Cayo Molina and Francisco Ocampo are still wanted and the investigation and trial will continue in their absentia.
Thirty Carabineros arrested: Thirty Carabineros have been arrested by the police and the army for their participation in the operatons to suppress the protests in Heredia, Ciudad de Sipe Sipe and Callao. They have been accused of violence, abuse and assault, as they charged on horseback groups of protesters or attacked them using whips.

The results are in for the General Election and the Constitutional Referendum!
Pedro Herrera and his political projects receive wide support from the people!

The results from the general elections and the constitutional referendum are in, as the Federal Electoral Bureau has centralised all the results from the nation and published the final results. The people of Corrientes have greatly supported the political projects of now President Pedro Herrera Rasgado, fully supporting his new constitution which replaces the old Estados Unidos de Corrientes with the newly proclaimed Correntine Confederation. The constitution was adopted with 78% of the votes, with a huge turnout of 88%, while in the General Election, the Partido Azul (National Revolutionary Party) has managed to gain 59% of the votes for the Chamber of Representatives, while for the Chamber of the States it got 53%. The Partido Blanco (Democratic Front) has managed to get 41% in the Chamber of Representatives and 47% in the Chamber of the States.
In the presidential elections, Pedro Herrera, the chairman of the Partido Azul has won 70% of the votes, while his main contender, Manuel Restrepo, the son of Ex-President Mateo Felix Restrepo has managed to gain only 30% of the support. With this, his Excellency, President Pedro Herrera becomes the legitimate and constitutional president of Corrientes, ending his position as interim president and also proclaiming the end of the revolutionary period and a beginning of a new age for Corrientes.
The new constitution replaces the United Stated with the Correntine Confederation and creates a new framework in which the political system works in the nation. The old unicameral Congress, will be replaced by a Tricameral Congress, formed of the lower house, the Chamber of Representatives, which will have 500 members, this being the traditionally most powerful house in the legislative; the Chamber of the States, which will ensure equal representation for all the nine states and the Callao Capital District, which will be made of 200 members, each state having 20 seats reserved and a new corporate Chamber, where universities, trade unions, employer federations and institutes will appoint the members, and will have 70 seats. The 3rd house will be purely consultative.
The new constitution also enlarges the voting franchise, giving for the first time the women the right to vote and it removes the condition of the voters to be employed, but keeps the condition of literacy. This more than doubles the base of voters of Corrientes, now a little over 4 million out of the 11 million people of the country. The voting age is still 21 years. Voting will also be now compulsory. The new constitution provides for the most liberal franchise in the history of Corrients and is probably the 2nd most liberal in the Western Hemisphere after the one in the Engell Republics.
Am important point in the constitution is the legal codifying of the two-party system, naming the two parties as the National Revolutionary Party, known as the Partido Azul, the Blue Party and the Democratic Front, known as the Partido Blanco or the White Party. The Majority of political parties in Corrientes have adhered to this even before the constitution was voted in, historically forming two broad coalitions, which were now cemented as the new parties. The old National Revolutionary Movement, together with the People's National Action and the Independent Regionalist Party have formed the Partido Azul, while the Radical Civic Party, the National Democratic Party and the Pan-Occidental Popular Revolutionary Alliance, have formed the Partido Blanco. The only one which hasn't accepted the amalgamation is the still banned Communist Party of Corrientes, which issued a short statement from it's underground headquarters, stating that all they see is a limitation of democracy. On the other side, President Herrera, whom has supported this amalgamation has stated that the new system will streamline the political system and will reduce the blockages that were so typical back when five parties were sharing the congressional powers.

"What we have seen today in those results, is the will of the people being respected. The people want peace, progress, stability and prosperity and by casting their votes, they have chosen that. I promise that I will work tirelessly to cleanse Corrientes of corruption and to develop this great nation of ours, to become the envy of not only Occidentia and Westernesse but the whole world. We will build railways, we will build roads, we will create jobs, we will electrify the country, we will modernise its army and we will make a job at it!" stated President Pedro Herrera in his victory speech in the Congress.

OTHER NEWS
Military parade rehearsals: The Calle 9 and the the 15 de Septiembre Square will be closed off this weekend for road and tram traffic as the Armed Forces will begin rehearsals for the Independence Day. This year, the Confederation will celebrate 99 years since the proclamation of independence against the Aurarian colonial government. On the 15th of September 1821, the Correntino revolutionaries have stormed the Casa Azul and arrested the Viceroy and his clique which were hoping to create a rump Aurarian royalist state based in Corrientes, to wage war against their homeland and extinguish the revolution there.
Concerns for the north: The events in the Republic of Gran Occidentia is seen as concerning by the Correntine government and armed forces, which fear that both an integralist and a socialist revolt against the government of Victoriano Grau will bring down the constitutional order and the rule of law in the country. The Selva Huntsmen divisions, have been put on medium high alert, in case any spillover reaches the Correntine borders.

His excellency, president Pedro Herrera Rasgado has started a tour of the nation and the largest producers, both in agriculture and in industrial manufacturing. He has left Callao this morning and has travelled to Antioquia to visit the Fedecafé headquarters and the main plantations which are part of the government sponsored federation of planters and coffee growers. President Herrera has met with Alejandro Yorba, the owner of the eponymous hacienda and coffee plantation and the current chairman of the Fedecafé board of directors.

The president's work tour is designed to give him a real view point of the current state of development of the Correntine economy, as besides the Coffee Growing Region around Antioquia, his excellency will visit the pulp mills and the timber industry in Potobamba, the oceanic fisheries at Bella Vista, and the machine tools and machinery factories in Yape.

In this first step of the trip, the president wishes to start a campaign to bring more coffee planters into Fedecafé so that they can be protected against volatile prices and against dumping on the world wide coffee market which could bring low prices and would affect small growers. It is expected that his excellency, President Herrera will pressure the Fedecafé board of directors to replace Alejandro Yorba as the chairman as during his tenure, the federation has lost quite some members as he has been dragged into some corruption scandals regarding the previous administration and it's leeches, headed by Cayo Molina, the corrupted and abusive ex-commander of the Seguridad.

"What we need now is for Fedecafé to be relaunched into a modern institution that will bring not only our planters but our farmers and workers too together, so that they can remain competitive and continue to provide the best coffee beans to the world markets, while also managing to have social security for them and their families. What I plan now is to visit the big companies of Corrientes' economy and observe how much they were tainted by the corruption of the previous government. The main goal at the end of it, is to start a campaign to cleanse our nation of such corruption and bring forward a plan for economic development that will see Corrientes become a key economic players of the Aurosphera," stated his excellency, president Pedro Herrera.
