Whatever he did as a government member in the national-syndicalist regime, Interim-Chancellor Bohmer saw on time that things had to change, and facilitated the transition to democracy the people of Ostmark wanted. We remember Interim-Chancellor Bohmer as the man who led Ostmark to democracy and freedom, and hope that the Ostmarkers will remember him in the same way. We pray for Interim-Chancellor Bohmer. Our condolences to his wife, children and other family members, as well as to the people of Ostmark.

Fellow Citizens,

It is with pride and joy that i speak to you, for the first time, from the office of the Chancellorship in the Palace of the Republic, here in Wien. I would like to start my speech by expressing the most heartfelt gratitude to the millions who participated in the first free and democratic elections since the fall of the regime. This historic election must not be mistaken for the victory of a single political party or a single candidate. It is a victory that belongs to the entire National Community, as it writes a new page in the history of our people and our Republic.

A lecture on our recent past would be superfluous. We all know where we come from. We all know what we suffered during the years of National-Syndicalism, but we also know how much we suffered during the Days of Sorrow. We must learn from our mistakes, and it is also vital to not fall into a spiral of eternal hatred and resentment.

We will stand united, as one people
, irrespective of our ideological and political differences, against the challenges that await us in the future. I will always stress this point, for i believe the union of our national forces will bring about the material and moral progress of our nation and, with that, an improvement of the quality of life for the people.

Unity is the key to our success.

When i spoke to Interim Kanzler Bohmer shortly before his death, he asked me to make a promise. That promise was to always work for the people, in the interest of people, and to prevent dark forces from taking over this country again. I will not express an opinion on his adherence to National-Syndicalism, which is fairly well known, but we must also accept the fact that despite his role in the regime, none of this would be possible hadn't Interim Kanzler Bohmer call this election and allow the people to participate in the nation-making and nation-building process we are all now part of. Herr Bohmer will not be remembered as the right hand of a dictator, but as the man who, in the end, recollected himself and allowed our nation to progress, and to free itself from the ghosts and the demons of the past. A dark past we must now forget, so that we may move forward.

Past rivalries, past adherences to National-Syndicalism, will not obstruct the participation to public and political life. Provided we will all join forces in the new democratic spirit of our renewed Republic, our future can only be bright and prosperous, so that our children and our children's children will live a life full of joy, happiness, and most importantly, in freedom. Our Republic is a precious little diamond, that we are all equally required to defend and protect from the dangers coming from without, but also from within.

My administration will strive for a stronger, renwed and dynamic international cooperation. My first thoughts go to our neighbors in the Kingdom of Eiffelland. Our southern neighbors have always supported our nation and our people, even during the darkest days. Even tho our nations fly different flags, we are both inherently part of the same community, the German community and we now finally share common values as never before. The spirit of cooperation and friendship between Ostmark and Eiffeland is a guarantee of peace and stability, in Germania and Europe, and i am eager to cooperate with Chancellor Rheinfeld as soon as possible. Once again, Ostmark salutes Eiffelland as a fully fledged member of the community of free and democratic nations of Europe.

To our East, the Tarusan Tsardom has indeed expressed perplexity and sometimes hostility towards our cause, due to the recent events here in our homeland. But i will not hold any grudge, and i will not seek any form of retaliation. The borders will stay open, trade will not be halted. In fact i will seek a renewed and stronger political and economic cooperation, in the form of trade deals and agreements, to further develope the relationship beween Ostmark and our eastern neighbor.

The past cannot be undone, but we can still write the future.

The Republic of Ostmark will work, with all the nations of Europe, to secure a future of peace and cooperation. Ostmark will also support all agencies and international institutions that strive for an ever stronger international cooperation, and will seek membership into said institutions to contribute to peace, democracy and freedom.

Compatriots,

What we have accomplished will be remembered by future generations. Europe will remember the pride and strenght and courage of a people, the people of Ostmark, who refused to give up to uncertainty and despair, and rebuilt their nation when everything seemed hopeless and lost.

No! Ostmark is not lost!

We will succeed and, togheter, we will rise from the ashes and the ruins of our dark past.

We look forward to cooperating with our brother nation in the northeast, and to lead us to a prosperous future. I commend Chancellor Eidman for his wise words. I have all the confidence that he will lead Ostmark to a brighter future. Eiffelland will do what it can do to help with that.

NATIONAL ASSEMBLY APPROVES ECONOMIC SYSTEM REFORM
"We will encourage private and foreign investments in our economy, to create more added value" said Kanzler Walter Eidman

By Heinrich Obenaus

WIEN (Ostmark) - With 74 votes against 26, the National Assembly approved the long awaited reform of the economic system, completing the transition from a central planned economy to free market. The Centre Party and the Christian Democratic Union have also supported the reform, upon the approval by the Social Democratic Party majority to introduce amendments that will further promote private and foreign investments in the near future. The National People's Party led by Karl Dietrich, however, accused Chancellor Eidman of "selling the country to foreign capitalist lobbies" in "the same way Chancellor Kohler sold our people to international loan sharks" sparking protests from the seats of the SPDO.

With the approval of the reform, citizens will now be allowed to carry out private economic activities without requiring the ministerial authorisations. Chancellor Eidman also reassured workers of state owned factories and companies that "The government will do everything in its powers to protect jobs and occupation, but will also provide workers with further training, so that they may find a new occupation and new opportunities in one of the many sectors of the economy that will soon witness a booming growth". According to the text of the reform approved by the National Assembly, foreign companies that will open subsidiaries or production facilities in Ostmark will benefit of a 75% tax discount for the years 2021-2022.

In an interview with Die Republik, Kanzler Eidman also stated that OMW might become the subsidiary of an Eiffellander company to "modernize its production facilities and shift the production to more modern and environment-friendly vehicles" said Eidman "Our priority is to restart the private sector of the economy and make good use of the countless opportunities the future is offering us" he concluded.

We are indeed interested in investing in OMW and making it a profitable Ostmarker company. Let it be clear that we fully understand that OMW employs a lot of Ostmarkers, directly and indirectly. When we invest in OMW, we will make sure that this company continues to fulfil the role it has fulfilled for many Ostmarker families. Indeed, achieving and maintaining profitability is key to that, but we will make sure that the days of sorrow will not return.

OSTMARK, THREE MONTHS LATER
A reportage from the streets of Wien highlights the cultural and political upheaval as Ostmark struggles to forget its past, in a dichotomy with social tensions on one side, and economic development and transition on the other side.

EDITORIAL
By Alexander Besselman

WIEN (Ostmark) - Not far from Republikplatz, formerly known as Volksrepublikplatz, a group of hardline nostalgics of the Grasser regime has since the 18th of December, the day of the fall of National-Syndicalism, occupied an abandoned flat in Ludwigstrasse and created a self-governing community known by the inhabitants of Wien as Schwarze Front Kollektiv, or Black Front Collective. The age of its members vary from eighteen to fifty years old, but it is clear that the majority of the squatters in the building are either teenagers or very young adults.

You must be registered for see images

Adelie, a nineteen years old girl from Wien, has no doubts: "The fall of National-Syndicalism will only bring endemic poverty, unemployment and disparty in Ostmark. We are unconditionally loyal to our Wise and Eternal Leader Horst Paul Grasser and we will never surrender our ideals to the false gods of capitalism and globalism. We will rise again under the guidance and light of the Hammer and Sword banner". I was sincerely surprised by the fanatism displayed by Adelie and her Black Front kameraden. It seemed, sometimes, that those young boys and girls were completely detached from the reality of Wien and Ostmark as a whole, a city and country that is rapidly changing and trying to leave its recent past behind.

Not far from the building, riot squads of Wien's Staatspolizei are constantly monitoring the situation but so far have refrained from storming the building "To preserve the peace and avoid an unnecessary escalation of violence" says Unteroffizier Rufold Muller, who seemed to be the man in charge of the State Police riot squads posted on both entrances of the street "They have been brainwashed by two years of constant propaganda and 'mass events' in stadiums, schools, rallies of the National-Syndikalistische Volkspartei.." he said, with a note of resentment and compassion in his voice "It's not their fault, really. They were the first victims of the economic crisis when youth unemployment had reached 70%, and now they are the victims of fanatism and propaganda, it's very sad.. but what can we do".

When asked if they have caused significant issue during their stay, Unteroffizier Muller nodded "Yes.. well.. they attempted to occupy nearby streets and we were forced to push them back into Ludwigstrasse. As long as they stay there and we stay here, there should be no issues. Nobody lives there anyway, everyone else has moved to avoid troubles". Muller looked sad sometimes, powerless, but it seemed clear to me that he still hoped to convince them to desist, eventually, rather than use force to put an end of the illegal occupation of the building.

Meanwhile, no far from Ludwigstrasse, Wien's inhabitants are successfully moving over and leaving the ghosts of their past behind. It is now very common to see western cars as the numbers of OMW-19s sold, or scrapped for metal and other electronic components, increase on a daily basis. With new and better paying jobs slowly but steadily offering Ostmarkians new opportunities, thousands are moving to the capital city, eager to get their share of the free market and the countless opportunities offered by the transition from a central planned economy to a free market capitalist system. During my reportage i met Franz, 52, a car dealer from Trier, Eiffelland "Well, this is basically one of the biggest scores in my career as a businessman" he said, with a big smile on his face "You see, there are almost one million people in this city and each one of them wants to drive anything but an OMW-19. They want big, modern looking cars, this is a fact. They see my cars as a symbol of prestige and wealth" he continued "Of course the prices have been adjusted but sales are growing every week, it's like they've been waiting for years to get their hands on them" he concluded.

You must be registered for see images

Many businessmen like Franz have spotted the opportunities as multinationals and other major companies are racing to acquire their share of customers. Some economic analysts suggested Ostmark could potentially become an international hub for car manufacturers thanks to the combination of its lower-than-average wages and the highly specialized workforce. Most Ostmarkians worked in vehicles and heavy machinery manufacturing, with metalworks and mining also playing important roles in the economy. That said, Ostmarkian workers are mostly trained and capable of switching roles and operate a large number of equipments, as opposed to third world countries where workforces are either unskilled or untrained to perform tasks in advanced production facilities. The government presided by Kanzler Walter Eidman has smelled the opportunities and wisely granted tax cuts and other benefits to both foreign and national private companies that will invest and create jobs and subsidiaries or build production facilities in Ostmark.

In the outskirts of Wien, like an oasis in the desert, an iconic building has survived the storm almost unscathed. You will not be surprised if i say it's Eastern Lights. Formerly owned by the Youth League of the National-Syndicalist People's Party, the popular club has been recently acquired by popular Ostwave producer Mark Adelberg, AKA Laserwehr, whose mission is "To continue the legacy of the Temple of the Ostwave sound". Thousands of young boys and girls fill the dancefloors of Eastern Lights Dance&Dinner Club three times a week in the same way crowds run to the shelter at the sound of an air raid siren. Within the walls of Eastern Lights there are no political affiliations, no social differences, no prejudice. "It is exactly as it is supposed to be" said Mark "Here at Eastern Lights we promote our way of life. We worship the Goddess Ostwave and her Apostoles Fun and Entertainment." he said with sarcasm "Jokes aside, as an Ostmarkian i am aware of the political and social tensions but i also have faith in a better future. I am quite optimistic. I will do my part and continue to provide this safe space filled with revolving mirror balls and neon lights for all those who are eager to forget their troubles and daily issues, even if for just only one night".

At the end of my daily tour across the streets of Wien, i've reached the conclusion that the cultural and political transition will probably take more time than expected. Overall, the sentiment expressed by the persons i had a talk with was mostly positive and optimistic. I must, unfortunately, reiterate one of the statements i made not too long ago: Ostmark is still not ready to forget Horst Grasser and the legacy of the Volksrepublik Ostmark. Hopefully, the ghosts of the past will be exorcised and our great, little country will finally move over.

We look forward to facilitating investments by Serbovian businesses into the growing and reforming economic sector of Ostmark, and to establishing partnerships that will benefit both Ostmarkian and Serbovian peoples. To that end, the newly reopened Serbovian embassy in Wien will be expanded by the founding of a separate trade representation which will work to assist in the establishment Serbovian-Ostmarkian business ties. Significant interest has already been expressed by several major Serbovian corporations.

"AUF WIEDERSEHEN, VOLKSREPUBLIK!"
"Goodbye, People's Republic!" is the new masterpiece of John Aldberg

You must be registered for see medias
By Heinrich Obenaus

WIEN (Ostmark) - Movie director John Aldberg, author of Brother Wars: The Massacre of Tuchersfeld, a movie that tells the story of the 1871 Eiffellander-Ostmarkian One Day War, has unveiled his new project this morning during a press conference. His new movie titled "Auf Wiedersehen, Volksrepublik!" is the story of Lukas, an ordinary ostmarkian boy who recalls his experiences during the two years of the National-Syndicalist regime presided by Volkskanzler Grasser and everyday'slife in the People's Republic of Ostmark.

"The movie does not glorify Grasser and the Volksrepublik. Instead, it portrays the ordinary life of an ostmarkian boy during the two years that permanently changed the history, society and culture of our nation" said the movie director "Lukas, a 23 years old boy, has been dreaming about a future of democracy and freedom as much as the majority of his family, his friends, his acquaintances. But he was also aware that in order to survive, he had to give up some of his ideals for the sake of serenity and peace, given his 'rebellious' mindset" he added.

In the movie Lukas is often confronted by the Volkspolizei and the State Security Service. He works at Ostmarkische Motoren Werke and he recalls his meetings with an at the time unknown and disheartened welder called Horst Grasser. The two form a special bond, a strong friendship, that soon becomes stagnant and dangerous when Horst reveals his totalitarian and radical political platform "My movie wants to be a warning for the youth of Ostmark who feel attracted and captured by populist demagogues and radical political agendas that offer quick and easy solutions to complicated and complex issues" continued Aldberg "But the overall message is: do not despair, do not surrender to oppression and apathy, because freedom always triumphs in the end. The good guys always win" he concluded.

INTERVIEW WITH KANZLER WALTER EIDMAN
On the political and economic transition of Ostmark and long term plans.

You must be registered for see images

By Heinrich Obenaus

Heinrich Obenaus: Good morning Chancellor Eidman, it is a pleasure to finally meet you.

Walter Eidman: Good morning Herr Obenaus, the pleasure is mine.

Heinrich Obenaus: Let's start with the first question. It's been three months since the fall of the National-Syndicalist regime presided by Horst and Andrea Grasser. What was your reaction when former Interim Volkskanzler Ludwig Bohmer tendered his resignations and called democratic elections?

Walter Eidman: That night i was in Volksrepublikplatz with other members of the SDPO to witness the turn of events. All of us were quite surprised by the initiative taken by Interim Voklskanzler Bohmer. The fall of the regime and the dissolution of the People's Republic of Ostmark was a completely unexpected scenario and we had realized, after that announcement, that democracy was truly making a come back, thus marking the end of the two years under National-Syndicalist rule.

Heinrich Obenaus: What was your reaction and your party colleagues reaction when the People's Defense Force hoisted the flag of the Republic of Ostmark?

Walter Eidman: I've tried my best to hold my tears, and so did my SDPO colleagues. The majority of the people bursted in celebrations of joy and happiness, some simply stood there and looked around as if they were part of a movie, of a tale. I felt like i was becoming part of history, and so were the tens of thousands of people who had gathered in Volksrepublikplatz that night to ask Interim Volkskanzler Bohmer more democracy and freedom.

Heinrich Obenaus: Why do you think Bohmer ordered the Volkspolizei and the Volkswehr to return to the barracks, instead of simply quelling the protest and dispersing the crowd?

Walter Eidman: I think Bohmer that day had realized that the days of National-Syndicalism were over, that Ostmark needed to change to fit in the modern era, an era in which National-Syndicalism, and Socialism in general, were de fact losing their logical and rational place. The times had already changed, and Bohmer made good use of the pragmatism he was known for, to accept the changes and aknowledge them for the sake of the people, the country and its integrity.

Heinrich Obenaus: And then the SDPO won the elections, seizing a majority of the parliament.

Walter Eidman: Yes, but it wasn't a victory of a candidate or a political party. That victory, the victory of the SDPO in the elections, is a victory that belongs to the entire national community. It wasn't only the end of the National-Syndicalist era, but also the beginning of a new age of democracy and freedom, of economic development and renewed international cooperation.

Heinrich Obenaus: Speaking of international cooperation, many countries and multinational companies are showing growing interest in the opportunities offered by the transition from central planning to free market. Do you think a return to the free market will also re-enable the downsides of globalization to bring us back to the Days of Sorrow?

Walter Eidman: Not if politics work in the interest of the people an in the interest of the nation. The government has, for example, monitored the talks between OMW and Darner Werke A.G. to make sure the aquisition of OMW by Darner protected jobs. In the end, the agreement will actually increase the production capabilities of OMW facilities, thus creating new jobs and new opportunities. In all cases, Darner has guaranteed to protect jobs and the importance of OMW for the economic tissue of Ostmark. We trust Darner because it is an Eiffellander company and we have trust in the Kingdom of @Eiffelland and its people, including its businessmen.

Heinrich Obenaus: Thev @United Republics recently announced Ostmark will receive $15 billion per year, for 15 years, to help Ostmark develope energy diversification and independence. How will your government make use of this large ammount of money in the long term?

Walter Eidman: Our government will always support the necessary transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources because we believe it has its logical and rational place in the future. It isn't an easy transition, by my administration is fully committed to push the green agenda as one of its top priorities, along with sustainable economic development. We will also support and take part to all international efforts to spread this agenda. Speaking of the funds, which will be erogated by the URTHAS, will be invested to develop clean, renewable energy sources in Ostmark. Our long term goal is to have Ostmark rely on at least 75% clean and renewable energy within the next 10 years. We are aware it is an extremely complex task, but our experts are already studying long term and realiable projects to successfully achieve this goal, step by step. Solar energy, hydroelectric energy, investments to convert coal and oil power plants for the use of biofuels or other sources of energy, a comprehensive agenda to study incentives for the production and purchase of electric and natural gas vehicles is also in the making. Ostmark has many unexploited sources of hydroelectric power, even tho two our of five dams are already providing enough power to support nearby mountain communities. We expect to restore and upgrade all existing five dams and enable them to produce energy, doubling their current capacity by the end of the year. We will also enact new laws to reduce the production of waste, encourage recycling of plastic, metal and food waste to produce biofuels, we will give incentives to companies that will switch to more environment-friendly production processes and will effectively reduce their emissions in the atmosphere.

Heinrich Obenaus: This sounds like a very ambitious plan for a small nation like Ostmark.

Walter Eidman: So was the return to democracy, but we did it. Didn't we? I am aware that given the current state of the economy it seems irrealistic and superfluous to write down 10-years plans. But as soon as we start them, the sooner we will achieve the goals we set. In my opinion, economic development and transition to renewable and sustainable sources of energy are both complementary to each other. There can't be true development if we continue to support a mentality that is effectively killing our environment and, with that, the future of our children. I am confident that Ostmark will one day spearhead the transition and set an example in terms of environment-friendly economic and industrial policies. A green future will coincide with a free future. Not just for Ostmark, but for Europe.

Heinrich Obenaus: Thank your for time Herr Eidman.

Walter Eidman: It's been a pleasure.

WIEN (Ostmark) - It's official. @Eiffelland 's car manufacturer based in Rottweil, Darner Werke A.G., has confirmed rumors about the production of Darner Solano and Darner Alisio in Wien's OMW production facilities. The announcement sparked a buying frenzy in Wien's stock market as investors rushed to acquire OMW shares amid a positive sentiment and trust of investors in Ostmark's automotive market.

@Holy Frankish Empire 's FrankBank, one of the major banks in Germania, has also announced the opening of over one hundred branches in Ostmark, with the aim of creating a full subsidiary known as OstBank within the next five years, prompting more investors to renew their trust in the positive outcome of the economic transition, and the generally positive market sentiments generated by the quick and successful democratic transition of Ostmark.

Friday Wien's stock market gained an astonishing 12% in an "unprecedented demonstration of investors' trust and confidence" said an economic analyst "In what we can now officially consider as Wien's market best one-day gain in the last decade" he added. The analyst suggested that "The successful political and economic transition, Chancellor Eidman's decision to grant incentives and tax cuts to private investments and the plans announced by major foreign companies to acquire a share of Ostmark's automotive, households, communications and banking sectors, have created the perfect recipe to halt Ostmark's economic stagnation and spark the beginning of game-changing positive trend of growth and development" he concluded.

A NEW SOCIAL CLASS IS EMERGING IN OSTMARK
They are in their thirties, ambitious, somewhat greedy, and they love Ostwave. We met one of them: they call themselves "Westies".

You must be registered for see medias
By Alexander Besselman

WIEN (Ostmark) - We met him in Republikplatz, the beating heart of Ostmark's free market revolution. He was sitting infront of a fancy and very expensive bar, where they charge as much as 10.000 OstMarks for a coffee, and almost 45.000 for a cocktail. His name is Alexander and he is a 34 years old man from Ludwgistadt am See "I moved here in Wien to get my share of the cake.. you know". He points at a building on the other side of the square "That's Ostmark's Stock Exchange, that's where i make my fortune" . Infront of that building also stands the Palast der Republik, seat of the National Assembly and formerly known as Palace of the People's Republic, the former headquarter of the now defunct National-Syndicalist People's Party.

Alexander invites us to take a seat and offered us a drink. I asked him what prompted him to move from the mountain community of Ludwigstadt to Wien and he answered without the slightest hesitation "Because this, my friend, is a free for all treasure hunt. He who gets first to the chest makes a lot of money. There is a lot of competition, a lot of greed and lots of participants in this game but I will stand out as a winner, because i was born a winner". When asked what he does and how he makes money he explained he invested his entire savings in the Automotive and Banking industries, gaining quick and large profit in just a few weeks, money that, he said "I've reinvested, a part of that money, to open a Darner dealership just outside the outskirts of Wien" he points at his clothes and sunglasses "Do you know how much i paid for this jacket? Almost 3.000.000 OstMarks. This comes from Østveg , made by one of their luxury brands. The best coats come from there, being a very cold place most of the year. I think i'm one of the few lucky ones in Wien with this jacket. These sunglasses, they call them 'Aviator'. Almost 200.000 Ostmarks, directly from The Federation . Amazing uh?".

He then explains he has a university degree in Economics and Finance, and simply made good use of his knowledge and skills to take advantage of Ostmark's capitalist 'revolution'. He proudly identifies himself as a "Westy". 'Westies' are a new social class, or group, that is rapidly emerging from the ashes of the central-planned National-Syndicalist economic system and the rebirth of free market capitalism in Ostmark. They are usually young men and women in their thirties, with an economics and finance dregree, who quickly abandoned the National-Syndicalist way of life to fully embrace the many opportunities offered by capitalism and grab as many slices of the free-market cake as possible. They love everything that comes from the West, they wear western clothes, drive western cars, watch western tv shows mostly from @Eiffelland and the @Holy Frankish Empire "Because at least they speak german and i don't have to read the subtitles all the time".

When it comes to hobbies and free time, such the music he listens too, he opened his eyes wide and said "Ostwave of course! I listen to Ostwave and spend most of my saturday nights at Eastern Lights. Of course i am a very popular customer and i always pay for the best table and the best Tiburan wine. I think the most i've spent in one night is one million Ostmarks. Crazy uh?" he chuckled, as if spending one 1.000.000 Ostmarks in wine and clubbing in only one night, in a country where the average monthly salary barely gets over 300.000 Ostmarks, roughly 150 EuroMarks, is the most normal thing to do. "But there is one thing we will always do better: electronic dance music! We are unbeatable in that field, it somehow makes me proud. Of course, when i blast the music in my car, it's an Eiffellander car with an Eiffellander stereo system that provides high fidelity sound, but it's Ostwave nonetheless!".

Opinionists have criticized 'Westies' for how easily and proudly they display their wealth, in a country that long before the rise of the National-Syndicalist regime had suffered years of economic recession, massive unemployment, social unrest and even something very close to famine. Such opinionists claim that 'Westies' represent everything bad and hideous about capitalism and the logic behind it: eat or get eaten, climb to the top as quick as you can and hope nobody kicks you down as you reach the top and end up amongst the losers of globalization and free market, the so-called 99%. So far, the majority of the population has been profiting, in one way or another, from the transition from a central-planned economy to a free market system, with new and better paying jobs becoming available and offering new opportunities "I was a janitor employed by the People's Labour Service before i became a trader at the stock exchange! I'm not going back to cut grass in public schools and parks, not at all! I'm young, i've got knowledge, initiative. This is my time, and i will succeed" said Alexander. We wished him good luck and success in his new ventures, and we watched him as he left the square in his brand new full-optional Raimer GLC Roadster.

THE LAST NATIONAL-SYNDICALIST STRONGHOLD
They are young, angry, devoted to their "Wise and Eternal Leader" Horst Grasser. They hate capitalism, and vow revenge against "Traitors". Meet the Black Front Collective. Their community, in the heart of Wien, is the last stronghold of Grasserism and the National-Syndicalist People's Party in Ostmark.

WIEN (Ostmark) - Not too far from Republikplatz, hidden from the fancy and expensive bars of the city center, a self-proclaimed "Autonomous People's Community" established itself in Ludwigstrasse amid the chaos of December 2020 and January 2021 and is considered almost as an enclave of the past in the vibrant urban cultural and political environment of Wien. The age of its members varies from the mid-late teens up to fifty years old, but it was clear to me that the dominant force of this political and cultural movement is very young, angry and frustrated.

Their anger and frustration comes from the refusal to accept the fall of National-Syndicalism, and the refusal to adapt to the changes and the customs of the present, so different and in many cases completely opposed, to the values and culture promoted during the years of Horst Grasser and the National-Syndicalist People's Party. As i walk past the riot squads of the Staatspolizei posted at the end of the street, an officer gives me a terrifying warning "Be careful. See that barricade? Behind those dumpsters, old Kamerad Grasser is still alive and kicking". I nod in sign of aknowledgement and i keep walking up to the makeshift barricade. From the windows of the shanty and decaying buildings on both sides of Ludwgistrasse there are dozens of Hammer and Sword flags, the old banner of the National-Syndicalist People's Party, next to the flags of the People's Republic of Ostmark.

A boy peaks from one of the window and orders me to stop, he wears a balaclava to make sure the police can't identify him "Are you the journalist?" he asks me with suspicion. I nod, and he allows me to crawl over the barricade. As i reached the other side i saw dozens of boys and girls carrying out various activities. Some are carrying food and water, others are cleaning the floor, others are repairing or reinforcing the barricades.

I can feel dozens if not hundreds of eyes staring at me. After all, i thought to myelf, i am an enemy for these people. I've always been labeled an enemy of the State, especially after i have successfully escaped Ostmark in one of the last flights to Eiffelland in October 2018, when i had realized what happened to dissidents and journalists who 'did not conform' with Grasser's narrative and political agenda and, most importantly, my last piece on Ostmarkische Zeitung, in which i denounced Horst Grasser and his totalitarian agenda. "Welcome to the Black Front Collective, i'm Lukas" says a boy in his 20s. We shake hands and we proceed into one of the building, the 'Volksrat' as they call it, People's Assembly, just like the former legislative body of the People's Republic of Ostmark. Some are wearing black armbands with the red Hammer and Sword "They are the Volkssicherheit, the People's Security Forces, they make sure this place stays safe for everybody".

We took a seat around a table, in one of the rooms. Behind Lukas, a huge picture of former Volkskanzler Horst Grasser kept staring at me. So i stared back. Lukas turned around and said "Our Wise and Eternal leader watches on us and gives us the strenght to carry on the struggle". What struggle? I asked him "What struggle?" he answered, surprised by my 'lack of knowledge' "The struggle against international capitalist lobbies, loan sharks, zionist cliques that are actively working to destroy our nation, buy our factories, pillage our nation and throw its bones away once their hunger for profit and riches will be satisfied".

A parade of the Combat Groups of the Working Classes in Wien, late February 2019.
Many members of the Black Front Collective are also former members of the Combat Groups of the Working Classes, the paramilitary wing of the National-Syndicalist People's Party.

But the Volksrepublik is dead, Grasser is dead, National-Syndicalism is dead. Shaking his head, he points at his chest "National-Syndicalism is not just an ideology, it is a faith. It is a lifestyle. A mindset. It requires sacrifice, for the greater good, for the benefit of the People's Community. Did they really think we would throw our ideals and our beliefs in the garbage can for shiny western cars and fast food meals? They are dead wrong. We will resist, resist, resist. Our Wise and Eternal Leader might have died, but the Eternal Flame of the National-Syndicalist Revolution is still burning deep in our hearts and souls".

I asked Lukas why some people are moving to Ludwigstrasse, and also how they have successfully resisted for so long against the Staatspolizei "Because our ideals are stronger than their water cannons and their tear gas, that's why" he replied "And because despite what the liberal and capitalist medias, owned by economic lobbies and subservient to their new western masters, not everybody is happy with this transition. They wont tell you that, but it is the truth. We are not forcing anyone to live here. They come by their own initiative, and they stay by their own initiative. They can live anytime they want. They stay because they, we, are the soldiers of the working class, the carriess of the eternal flame of the worker's revolution. If someone is becoming richer, then someone is becoming poorer. We are the poor. We are the workers. In our Autonomous People's Community, the Black Front Collective, National-Syndicalism has never fallen and Kamerad Grasser is still alive in our hearts. We all cooperate and work togheter to keep this community functioning and safe, we are all assigned tasks on a daily or even weekly basis. There are no crimes, no injustice, no disparity. We are all equals here. We will not surrender our ideals to the false gods of capitalism and liberalism. Death to the enemies of the Ostmarkian National Working Class! Glory to our Wise and Eternal Leader, Kamerad Horst Grasser!".

A mass rally of the Youth League of the National-Syndicalist People's Party, June 2020.
The overwhelming majority of the teenagers and young adults, former members of the Youth League of the NSVP, are still chanting the same slogans and political songs.

After the interesting and somewhat surreal chat with Lukas, i've had the chance to interview other members of Ludwigstrasse's Black Front Collective. Boys, girls, men, women of all ages who have all confirmed their unshakable and unquestionable loyalty to National-Syndicalist ideals and their 'Wise and Eternal Leader' Horst Paul Grasser. The frustration i could perceive in their voices indicated an impressive ammount of fanatism, resentment, and nostalgia for the old ways and life in Ostmark during the rule of the Grasser siblings.

All attempts by local authorities to reach and agreement have failed, with clashes often resulting in many injured, and some arrests. In all cases, both 'sides' had to return to their initial positions and prepare for the next battle. Will the Black Front Collective boys and girls ever surrender? I don't know. I left Ludwigstrasse later that morning as a couple megaphones played the notes and lyrics of Risen From the Ruins, the anthem of the People's Republic of Ostmark. What i know for a fact is that The Days of Anger, at least in Ludwgistrasse, are far from over.

It is good to see that the Genossen at the Ludwigstraße in Wien uphold Genosse Grasser's legacy. Our best wishes. We will help whenever and whereever needed. Workers of all nations, unite!

Heinrich Liebknecht, chairman of the KPE

OOC: As you know, Eiffelland is by far not a communist country, but the KPE was never forbidden. Therefore, it is still active.

THE LANDWEHR IS BACK ON ITS FEET
Ostmark's Territorial Defense Force is undergoing heavy changes and reforms, changing its face, operational doctrine and capabilities.

WIEN (Ostmark) - As the economic transition of Ostmark steadily proceeds into a future of optimism fueled by positive trends, yesterday the 21. Volksgrenadier Regiment, the last unit to wave the banners of the old People's Defense Force, has completed the transfer of assets and personnel in the new Landwehr, the Territorial Defense Force. The successful completion of the reform of the armed forces has completely changed the face of Ostmark's land, air and sea forces, despite having been dramatically reduced in size and operational capabilities.

The lack of funds and the heavy cuts implemented by the government presided by Kanzler Walter Eidman has made it necessary to rethink of the Landwehr's operational capabilities and size. As of mid 2020, the People's Defense Force could field 35.000 at once, with over 100.000 reservists regularly trained on weekly or monthly basis thanks to the mandatory membership in the Combat Groups of the Working Classes, the paramilitary wing of the National-Syndicalist People's Party.

Following the reforms studied and implemented by the government and the Oberkommando of the Territorial Defense Force, Ostmark's military strenght has been cut by over 60%, reducing its size to about 10.000 professional soldiers, organized in three mechanized forces: the I, II, and III Panzergrenadier divisions. Each division i supported by an armored batallion, combat engineers companies and other specialties such as, amongst others, reconaissance and communications.

In accordance with the historical doctrine of Ostmark's military since the mid 18th century, along the lines of 'quality over quantity', the government will concentrate all available funds in quality training and the purchase or production of modern military equipments to "properly equip" a "small but professional defense force, capable of quick and efficient response". Analysts have, in the past, expressed perplexities at the real capabilities of the old People's Defense Force, dismissing huge parades and display of military strenght as mere regime propaganda.

Today, military experts claim that "Ostmark's Territorial Defense Force has been reformed according to its real defense and combat capabilities, despite its undeniable weakness and technological backwardness when compared to the military forces of the region. To make an example: the landwehr's Main Battle Tank, the Panzerkampfwagen Kobra-76 used to be a very efficient weapon, comparable to most equivalent tanks at the time of its development in the late 1970's. However, it hasn't been updated since 1991".

Chancellor Walter Eidman has praised the women and men who serve in the Territorial Defense Force for their "dedication to protect the independence and sovereignty of the Republic, and therefor the freedoms and rights of Ostmarkian citizens" said Eidman during a press conference at the Palast der Republik in Wien "We reaffirm and renew Ostmark's commitment to peace and the support of international agencies and institutions that promote cooperation and the peaceful resolution of international disputes" he concluded.

EXCLUSIVE: "I'VE KILLED HORST AND ANDREA GRASSER"
ANONYMOUS 'SECRET SERVICE' AGENT MAKES INCREDIBLE CLAIMS
A surreal interview with mysterious shadowy figure reveals dystopic insights on the history of Ostmark in the last three years.

Alexander Besselman: Good morning, Herr..?

Anonymous: Revealing my real name would be inappropriate, especially on the internet.

Alexander Besselman: On the internet..? Ok.. well.. ehm.. so you said you were some sort of agent for the "Secret Service", i guess the State Security Service, You've also claimed that you have been involved in most, if not all the events that have occured in the past years, even before the rise to power of Horst Grasser and the National-Syndicalist People's Party.

Anonymous: I wasn't an agent of the State Security Service. The events, the characters, their personalities, their choices and even their deaths are a product of my imagination, most of the times inspired by real events. Think of me as a guy in a control room.

Alexander Besselman: Sure.. Sure.. Are you still playing a role in this so-called 'control room', do you still work in the 'shadows', despite the recent changes and the fall of National-Syndicalism?

Anonymous: Of course, Ostmark is a product of my imagination. I am Ostmark. And sometimes Ostmark is me.

Alexander Besselman: So.. what do you mean when you claim you have been 'involved' in the events of the past three years and, from what i understand, even the ones that had occured before the rise of National-Syndicalism?

Anonymous: There was no real plan. It was - it still is - an experiment. Building a nation and portray it as a credible one can turn into a failure, or into a passion and a success, it depends on much commitment and 'fantasy' you put in the recipe. It depends on how much you get 'involved' in the narrative, in the characters, and if there is any: in an ideology.

Alexander Besselman: I don't think i get it.. but when you say 'ideology' you mean National-Syndicalism, i suppose. Are you a National-Syndicalist?

Anonymous: No, i've never supported the totalitarian and oppressive agenda of the National-Syndicalist regime. The ideology itself was not meant to become 'evil'. The idea was to portray and write the story of a nation and most importantly its people, brought to their knees by a system that sometimes is unfair, unequal, and generates tragedies and catastrophes such as an economic default, massive unemployment, massive poverty. So one day i've decided to write a 'what if' scenario, about a nation i have named Ostmark for no particular reason, that lived such a tragic experience and from that 'incipit', the so-called "Days of Sorrow", develop a realistic and believable 'outcome' and chain of events.

Alexander Besselman: ..what?

Anonymous: I mean that while i've never agreed or supported, in any way, the totalitarian agenda of Horst Grasser and the National-Syndicalist People's Party, or the rethoric behind the propaganda, i've somehow became sympathetic with my nation to a point i said: i understand why they are supporting a dictator like Grasser because i would too support someone like him, if i were starving or unemployed and had no other choice. That's why i believe that the economy must be subservient to the need of the people and the nation, and never the other way around, because the inequalities generated by capitalism can culminate in massive resentment and anger, and once they get out of control we know that totalitarian and populist figureheads are common to exploit such emotions to rise to power. History is full of examples.

Alexander Besselman: Are you ok?

Anonymous: When economies collapse and poverty becomes endemic some people would rather throw all their freedoms in the dumpster as long as they can provide at least two meals per day, for their family and children. That's my whole point: the strongest weapon against populism, hatred, totalitarism, extremism and fanatism, is to guarantee equality and justice. Without equality and justice people will easily fall prey to any sort of populist and totalitarian narrative and propaganda. It's a survival instinct and they cannot be completely blamed, i think.

Alexander Besselman: You are mostly talking to yourself at this point.

Anonymous: I am literally talking to myself.

Alexander Besselman: Right.. well let me ask you the last question then. Do you miss the People's Republic of Ostmark?

Anonymous: Yes, i miss it a lot. Not because i agreed with the narrative, but because the Volksrepublik and Horst Grasser in particular were some sort of children. A product of my imagination. Children i have witnessed growing up from their birth, to their death. And my decision to kill Horst and Andrea Grasser wasn't an easy one. I've killed my own creations for the sake of the people of Ostmark, who also are my creation. It's almost as if i can see them in my head. I can see Ostmark, its cities, its people. I can read their mind, feel what they feel, think what they think. And it's amazing how they have evolved in my 'mind', in my imagination, over the years - and that's why, at some point, i've pictured the suffering they were enduring in such an oppressive regime, a regime i have created myself. At some point i said: this people, my people, deserve to be free. Ironically Luwdig Bohmer, the man who started the transition, is the one i've identified most as since the death of Horst and Andrea Grasser.... Do you know why i spared your life in October 2018?

Alexander Besselman:
..No?

Anonymous: Neither do i, it was random. But now you are part of the narrative, and you will probably shape the history of Ostmark and its events in the future, in one way or another. I'll think about something suitable for your role and position in the future i guess.

Alexander Besselman: Honestly, as a journalist this has to be the weirdest interviews of my entire career.

Anonymous: I have no doubt about that, have a nice day.

NATIONALRAT APPROVES SAME-SEX MARRIAGE LAW

WIEN (Ostmark) - With 64 votes against 36, the National Assembly of the Republic of Ostmark approved the same-sex marriage law writing a new chapter in history of social and individual rights in Ostmark. Long desired and promoted by LGBT groups, the law has finally been approved, ending decades of political and social battles to extend marriage to same-sex couples.

"The Constitution of the Republic of Ostmark approved in 1959 guarantees equal rights to all citizens irrespectively of their race, culture, political opinions, religious affiliation, economic condition and sexual orientation" said Chancellor Walter Eidman "This law is therefor a logical step forward to ensure that the principles expressed in our Constitution are upheld and translate into a guarantee and protection of social rights for all citizens, who are all equally entitled to the same rights and duties" he added.

"The government will continue to work for the people, removing all the obstacles that block the full realization of the individual, who also deserves to live with dignity, and in prosperity" he concluded. Protests have sparked amongst some of the most radical members of the catholic community of Ostmark, with counter-demonstrations staged near Republikplatz in Wien. The demonstrators accused Kanzler Walter Eidman of "Subverting the natural union between men and women, and stirring Ostmark away from its centuries old catholic tradition".

Chancellor Eidman replied in a press statement "The law does not curb the right of heterosexual couples to marry and have children, it only extends the marriage institution to same-sex couples. Ostmark is a secular republic in which all citizens are equally entitled to happiness and dignity and in which religion is considered a strictly private matter. Discriminating an individual due to his sexual orientation or simply to uphold the opinion of a religious group is against all the fundamental values and principles expressed in our Constitution" said Eidman's statement.
