We applaud lawmakers in the Commonwealth of Caledonia for voting to end the country's military presence in Loago. The Azraqi Empire is committed to seeing a free, independent and stable Loago and will do everything within our power to assist the withdrawal of Caledonian peacekeepers and help with the restoration of law and order.

Jewish Resistanec Stiffens In Crotobaltislavonia

EPA Banja Luka

Early this morning, enduring freezing temperatures and fresh snow, over one thousand Jewish men, women, and childen laid down on the railroad tracks leading out of their home city of Krasrilevke to block their fellow Jews from making the trek to the Polesian People's Republic. Security forces responded. After seven hours of negotiation between the Jewish protesters, railroad officials, and the security forces, the rails were unblocked and trains began to move again. However, during that time, the protesters were able to convince the majority of their brethen to abandon their journey and remain behind in Krasrilevke. A spokesman for the Jews said, "we are done fighting back. The cycle of violence with the Slavs must end. We will resist with our lives and the lives of our posterity. But we will not kill."

Local offiicals and security forces are said to be satisfied that the conflict was resolved with no casualties on either side.

The Polesian People's Republic urges the Jewish citizens of Crotobaltislavonia not to impede their brothers and sisters who wish to restart their lives as residents of the world's first dedicated socialist Jewish state. Freed from the prisons of artificial nations, we can look to rebuild a Three Seas region that is peaceful, prosperous and stable.

As for the so called Anti-State, a name that only seeks to disguise the deeply autocratic and reactionary nature of its politics, international Jewry does not need your help. With the aid of our allies in the Rurikgrad Pact, we shall forge a new internationalist, proletarian identity liberated from the religious dogma of the Torah and the modern slavery of capitalism.

In fact, while condemning fictitious allegations of ethnic cleansing in Slavo-Germania, the Anti-State uses its own Zionist puppets and useful idiots to displace the native population of Seora in an underreported crime conveniently ignored by the global capitalist media. The peoples of the Three Seas region know better.

Rurikgrad Pact "weaponising" Krasnislavian refugees

MIDWEIS - The Polesian People's Republic and Kadikistani Union are using Krasnislavian refugees as a 'weapon' to undermine the Kingdom of Elben, according to a Polesian whistleblower, who warns Kadikistan is using regional instability to push for a united Krasnislavia under Ivar's control.

Yitzchak Wallach, who claims to have been a senior Polesian diplomat before defecting to Bergenheim, says the 'One Krasnislavia' policy is now an official doctrine of the Kadikistani government as part of a wider mission of pan-Slavianism.

"Make no mistake, Ivar is looking to rebuild the empire it had in the time of the Tsars," Wallach said in an interview with a Bergenheimer news channel, "the loss of Krasnislavia is seen as a prestige issue.. a lot of what is driving Kadikistan's actions in Crotobaltislavonia and former Trivodnia is this imperial mindset combined with a sense of Slavian solidarity."

Wallach went on to to further state Polesia and Kadikistan were deliberately "flooding" Elben with refugees to destabilise the country, by stirring an already rising Krasnislavian nationalism and provoking Elbener backlash, effectively "weaponising" those fleeing.

There are estimated to be over half a million refugees in Elben from both Crotobaltislavonia and former Trivodnia, with Jews and Slavonians living in makeshift camps alongside Krasnislavians.

The Elbener government so far has had adopted a relatively open door approach to refugees but today's reports may change that, despite continuing allegations of ethnic cleansing in Crotobaltislavonia and Polesia.

Bizarre events in Serenierre
MONSERAN --- The old building of the Consulate of Occitania, which stood empty following the breakdown of diplomatic relations in the prelude to the Seven Day War, was handed over to the control of a tribe of monkeys when a local worker's union trespassed on the padlocked compound. The group named a male monkey Julius Faure, as an insult to the King of Occitania, and named other primates in the compound have been named after other members of the Occitanian royal family.

As the news spread on local television networks, the Government was quick to send in police officers to stop the situation. However, a crowd had gathered to watch the monkeys defile the old consulate, with some of the monkeys proceeding to mate on the desk in the ambassador's office, with the coat of arms of Occitania in full display. The monkey named Julius Faure by the worker's union was especially fond of the attention and was encouraged to throw dung at the portrait of his namesake and perform other such silly antics.

As the police attempted to arrest the instigators, the crowd prevented them and proceeded to create a human wall encircling the compound. The police subsequently used water cannons to disperse the spectators and arrested the union members. Experts from the city zoo took the monkeys into their care afterwards.

Clips of the entire episode have become popular on the internet, attaining viral popularity for the hilarity of the situation. Particularly liked is a picture of the monkey Julius Faure in the arms of one of the zookeepers, as it was led out of the compound, with a paper crown, resting lopsided on his head.

EUROPEAN PRESS ASSOCIATION EXCLUSIVE
Interview with People's Chancellor Horst Paul Grasser.

You must be registered for see images

EPA Journalist: Good morning Herr Grasser, and thank you for accepting this interview.

Horst Grasser: Good morning, it is a pleasure to be here. I must confess that i read EPA articles almost everyday.

EPA Journalist: That's very nice to hear. So, i would like to start this interview by asking you about the recent crackdowns on political opposers that reportedly occured in Wien and Wilhelmstadt. Don't you think such a hard stance on the anti-regime opposition will eventually lead to cracks in the government you preside?

Horst Grasser: According to the reports i've received from the Volkspolizei we haven't cracked down on "political opposers", but lawbreakers who seeked to undermine the very fabric of Ostmark's society. Such operations occur in so-called "liberal democracies" too, and they have occured for decades now, if not centuries in the most modern forms of constitutional monarchies and republics. I believe it is a right of every nation to protect itself from organizations and elements that seek to destroy said nations from the inside. I don't think in neighboring Eiffelland-Retalia the government would allow an organization that seeks to dismantle the Monarchy or force the King to abdicate at gunpoint, a circumstance that actually occured in Ostmark in 1957.

EPA Journalist: According to activist Rupert Rosenbaum, who leads an organization known as 'Movement for Civil Rights and Freedom of Expression', your State Security Service is actively repressing dissent and protest rallies all over the country.

Horst Grasser: The State Security Service, as the name suggests, is tasked with protecting the Volksrepublik and its citizens from individuals and groups who serve certain international financial cliquès that never accepted Ostmark's turn of events. I don't think we can describe the criminal activities of a few dozens individuals as "protests occuring all over the country". We do not deny the expression of dissent. But dissent's purpose should be the improvement of our system, not its destruction. We are open for criticism, we host meetings to discuss criticalities on a weekly basis, all citizens are allowed to participate, and decisions are are taken by majority vote. The National-Syndicalist People's Party IS the product of dissent and rebellion against the status quo. We will continue to resist against international elements that seek to undermine the achievements of our social and national revolution.

EPA Journalist: Are you referring to the World Zionist Congress?

Horst Grasser: International elements. Financial and industrial lobbies that are eager to prey and feast, once again, on the proletarian masses and the working class of the People's Republic of Ostmark. If they think we live by the logic of "forgive and forget", i'm afraid they'll have to reconsider their plans. The overwhelming majority of the citizens support us and our economic and social reforms are already showing results. Our lives and our economic conditions are greatly improving, if compared to what we went through in the past four years and half.

EPA Journalist: Many analysts have failed to comprehensively describe Ostmarkischer Nationalsyndikalismus, which many tend to refer to as Grasserismus. How would you describe your Party's ideology?

Horst Grasser: I don't like the term "Grasserismus", but i'm aware it has become a popular word even in Ostmark. Grasserismus implies that i should be awarded all the merit for what we have achieved in the past months. This however does not reflect the truth. The merit belongs to the people of Ostmark and the millions of women and men who joined our struggle against misery and poverty and refused to surrender to the oppresive economic and social policies of the now defunct social-democratic and liberal establishments. National-Syndicalism is the revenge of the poor and the downtrodden against the oppressive capitalist lords who for too long have subdued the working class, forced them into absolute poverty, starvation, despair, depression, sorrow.

EPA Journalist: The Days of Sorrow.

Horst Grasser: I am an ordinary citizen approaching his old age. I've worked for 35 years, more than half of my life, as a technician at Ostmarkische Motoren Werke. I used to wake up every morning at 4am, walk for 10 kilometers to reach my workplace. We worked 12 hours straight, for a salary of 650.000 OstMarks in times when for a two rooms apartment they asked nothing less than 400.000 OstMarks. Have you ever suffered prolonged hunger?

EPA Journalist: Have you, Mr. Grasser?

Horst Grasser: Hunger transforms humans into wild beasts. Hunger leads to stealing, killing, craziness. I've seen grown up men stealing bread and milk from children who stood in line infront of food banks. Parents used to send their children, as young as 5, very early in the morning, in winter, with temperatures way below zero celsius, to make sure they'd receive the much needed "Relief Packages". There were groups of criminals that used to mug them outside the food banks and steal their packages, which consisted in some rice, a bottle of milk and rarely a slice of meat. Meanwhile, the police were gathered around the parliament and the ministries, to protect the powerful ones. The people, ordinary citizens like me, were left alone by authorities and institutions and fell preys of criminals and opportunist individuals alike. Ostmark was descenting into anarchy.. there is no other word to describe it. Humans were turning into savages who cared about nothing but their own survival. I said: This has to stop. This is not acceptable. In 2014 i stole a pack of meat from the shelf of a supermarket in Wilhelmstadt and spent the night at the local police station for that.. i was so ashamed of my condition at the time. But what choice does a hungry man have if the alternative to stealing food is death by starvation? I am perfectly and pragmatically aware that the National-Syndicalist People's Party has abolished the liberal-democratic system previously in place. But when journalists like you assume that we have merely established a "dictatorship" on the ruins of a stagnant liberal democracy, they should ask themselves: Did those people really have a choice? Were there viable alternatives at hand? My answer is: No sir, we had no other choice but take back our nation and free our people from the chains of misery and hunger.

EPA Journalist: Do you think Ostmarker National-Syndicalism will attract the masses of Gallia-Germania, and create a "third front" in the everlasting ideological battle between Capitalism and Marxism-Leninovism?

Horst Grasser: The National-Syndicalist People's Party is Ostmark's answer to the dual tyranny of the conservative right wing devoted to money, and the liberal left enslaved to Capitalism. Ostmark's solution to Ostmark's issues. The works of Comrade Leninov inspired much of the doctrine of Ostmarkischer Nationalsyndikalismus, this is undeniable. But our system is not meant to be exported. I've always opposed the internationalist stance of the most radical wings the NSVP and we agreed by overwhelming majority, in a session of the First Congress of the National-Syndicalist People's Party, that what happens in Ostmark, stays in Ostmark. We seek mutual respect and promote good neighborliness. But we will never amend our values to accomodate foreign ideals that do not belong to our Volk's way of life and mindset.

EPA Journalist: On this note, Ostmark has recently approached the Union State of Eiffelland-Retalia and the Kingdom of Elben, a stance that according to AP Wire has caused perplexities in Marxist nations such as the Northern Cooperatives Union. What's the nature of the relations between the People's Republic of Ostmark and the two former members of the Trier bloc and how do you cope with the rising concerns in the Rurikgrad pact in regards to Ostmark's foreign policy?

Horst Grasser: But we also signed a trade agreement with the People's Republic of Serenierre. You see, Ostmark never took part to an armed conflict during its modern history, we don't want to get involved in events that do not directly touch us or affect us. We firmly repudiate war and we are not seeking to form military alliances, or entangle our nation in treaties or pact that might lead Ostmark to an armed conflict with another nation. We hold no grudge or resentment with the neighboring Union State of Eiffelland-Retalia. They adopted a different system, a system we vehemently oppose here in Ostmark, but as a pragmatic person i say: Has Eiffelland-Retalia ever attempted to impose its system on Ostmark? Has Ostmark ever attempted to force its collectivist and national-syndicalist system on Eiffelland-Retalia? The answer is no. We have aknowledged the profound and undeniable differences between our system.. but i don't see any reason why our differences should automatically translate into a rivalry or lead to hostile relations. With the Kingdom of Elben, it is a different story. Elben is a Monarchy. Religion is a very strong element of its society. Religion has shaped Elben's society in the past centuries and this is undeniable. Ostmark is a Republic, a secular state, which tolerates religion but rejects its role in politics and society. But can mere political and social differences deny the cultural, ethnic and social six centuries old ties that bind our nations to a common historical heritage and identity? Why should we express resentment and feel hatred for nations that never, ever attempted to harm us in the first place or nations we share common cultural grounds with? We are all Germans, after all. Ostmark believes in peace and cooperation and we are confident that sooner or later our commitment to such beliefs will give results.

EPA Journalist: Herr Grasser, thank you for your time.

Horst Grasser: Your welcome, have a nice day.

West Occitanian Govt. meets with newly appointed feudal lords
EPA LIONS || Under the auspices of the new Basic Law for the Protectorate of Occitania (West Occitania), the Serenien Government has allowed the large agricultural landholdings to continue to be administered by the traditional feudal families belonging to the five duchies of Occitania now under the jurisdiction of the Serenierre backed Protectorate. While the new laws have seen ownership for the lands be distributed to a large extent among the peasantry, administrative control for the five duchies - namely Lions, Megadeia, Espidiz, Viasinde, and Sagola - has been granted to administration bureaus which would be headed by the Dukes of the respective area.

Under this compromise system, the dukes appointed by Villesen from among the ranks of the ducal families will administer the territories and exercise full powers to ensure stability and order in the territory. The ducal administration bureaus (DAB) shall function under the full oversight of the Military Governor - who is a Serenien Lt. General responsible for the security of the Protectorate.

The Military Governor in his meeting with the new dukes announced that Villesen will bankroll the DABs and shall provide financial awards to the best performing duchies. Rumours in Villesen have however suggested that the scheme is an outright ploy from the Martinique Government to pit the dukes against one another to obtain the greatest reward. That, however, has obviously been denied by official sources. However, it is expected that local sentiments towards the Protectorate will soften following the incorporation of the feudal system of administration and the maintenance of the old ducal families.

The Military Governor also used the opportunity of the meeting to announce that the Serenien Government had provided assistance to the Protectorate for the purposes of rehabilitation of the civilian populace in the form of a massive package amounting to a sum between 5.75 billion to 6.25 billion goldmarks. As the Governor of the Protectorate, Lt. General Henri Xavier, stated that the sum would be used in a prudent manner to ensure the most benefit to the widest number of people.

In addition to internal administration issues, Lt. General Xavier announced that several thousand Ostmarker workers would be arriving in West Occitania to assist in the reconstruction efforts of damaged areas. He also announced that the Villesen Government had assured him that West Occitania would also receive considerable financing from international banks in Scania to bolster the recovery.

OOC: Goldmarks are basically IRL United States dollars.

Eiffelloretalian economy still in recession
EPA Trier; EPA Altburg

According to today’s report of the Eiffelloretalian Unionsamt für Datensammlung und Datenauswertung (acronym: UDAT), the Eiffelloretalian economy is still in recession, although the economic shrinking is becoming smaller. The governmental austerity policy has positive effects on the relative debt of the county, which reduced to 90% of the GDP, despite financial support for Eastern Occitania and the establishment of what the government calls an “emergency fund”.
The effects of the austerity policy become visible, however. The tax increases led to a reduction of the amount of money the Eiffelloretalians are able to spend. As a result, the purchases of cars, furniture, electronics and so on are postponed.
Furthermore, the government is economizing on lots of things. This can be seen in many things. The roads for instance. The motorways and other main roads are still maintained well, and it is government policy to keep it that way. However, the maintenance of secondary roads in city quarters and villages as well as in the countryside is postponed, already leading to deterioration of those roads. Also the parks are maintained less intensively than before.
The austerity policy also has consequences to social security. The duration of unemployment allowances was reduced, so that people fall back to social security sooner. Additionally, the access to occupation disability allowances was made more difficult, and the occupation disability allowance payments were reduced.
Luckily, the export of Eiffelloretalian products is still going well. “Made in Eiffelland” and “Made in Retalia” both had a positive connotation of quality, and “Made in Eiffelland-Retalia” has that connotation as well.
Another factor that keeps the consequences of the crisis limited is the convenant closed by the government, the companies and the labour unions. A result of that convenant is that the burden is carried by the whole society instead of only the lower and middle classes. Another result of the convenant is that Eiffelloretalian companies try to avoid massive lay-offs as much as possible, either by reducing jobs by not replacing people who retire, or by only reducing working hours of employees, who receive unemployment allowances for the number of working hours they lost. Chancellor a.D. Dr. Röpke could reach that convenant based on the prestige he has as prominent economist and as the son of the godfather of the Social Market Economy. The influence of the King and the Eiffellandian Rathenau family will have helped in that as well, and the Retalian general Aliswiller and some other prominent Retalians will also have used their influence.
The fact that the Unionsbank Eiffellands und Retaliens (acronym: UBANK) keeps the banks in Eiffelland-Retalia on a short leash has an advantage, but also a disadvantage. The advantage is, that the banks are more stable, because of which the Unionsmark is more trustworthy as well. The disadvantage is, that the banks have less possibilities to earn money (“but also less possibilities to lose money,” like an employee of the UBANK phrased it). Especially the Retalian banks are not happy with this situation, because they were used to relatively loose regulations compared with the Eiffellandian ones.
The government has kept the consequences of the austerity policy for education, health care and child care service to a minimum. That was not really difficult in the case of health care, because quite some economies had already been realised there by means of the introduction of new techniques. Apendectomies are currently conducted by means of a laparoscopic operation after which a patient can go home after two days; twenty years ago, a laparotomy was needed for that, after which the patient had to stay in hospital for a week. Also gall bladders are removed laparoscopically. Kidney stones are removed by inserting a ureteroscope into the ureter, lasering the stone away and sending the patient home on the same day; in earlier days, a patient was cut open from the navel to the vertebral column during a six-hour operation and the patient had to stay in hospital for two weeks. Pacemaker leads are attached to the heart by inserting them through the subclavian vein to the inside of the heart, and the patient is home again after three days; thirty years ago, a patient had to undergo a sternotomy so that the leads were attached to the outside of the heart, after which he or she had to stay in hospital for ten days. Small brain tumors are treated by means of a “gamma-knife”, a very concentrated gamma-ray beam; in earlier days, a craniotomy was needed, apart from the fact that only superficial tumors can be operated. Most arterial occlusions can be treated with dottering and stents instead of complex bypass operations. Even aortic valves are currently replaced through the inguinal artery instead of a sternotomy and cutting the heart open. All these, but also many other, biotechnological developments reduced the number of days patients had to stay in hospital and the number of days patients had to recover after operations. And that led to another economy: The patients went back to work earlier. But most importantly, these biotechnological developments made many complex surgical treatments unnecessary and greatly reduced the amount of serious complications after operations (which used to cost a lot of money as well).
Despite all efforts to keep the consequences of the crisis to a minimum, not all Eiffelloretalians are happy with the situation. This can be seen in the increase of the popularity of far-right forces; they reached 11% in Continental Eiffelland and 8% in Retalia at the last elections, but the polls currently show 15% for the Volksunion in Continental Eiffelland and 13% for the Retalische Volkspartei in Retalia. The Volksunion even has a chance on a seat or two in the parliaments of Helgoland and Rügen, islands known for their religious conservatism but also for their rejection of ethnic nationalism.
Of course the recent strivings of the Serenien government for independence of the Retalian islands has led to some discussions. The official stance of the Eiffelloretalian government is that each independence movement can come to the Eiffellandian government to discuss matters, but that the wishes of the people living on the Retalian islands have to be decisive: “We cannot make the Retalian islands independent against the will of the inhabitants.”
Currently the vast majority of the inhabitants of the Retalian islands want to stay part of Eiffelland-Retalia. A sociologist of one of the universities in Vallese-Wallis phrased it as follows: “Retalians are very pragmatic; they realise that they are better off as part of a country with 130 million inhabitants than as an independent island with 5 to 10 million inhabitants. Therefore, independence is not attractive enough to the vast majority of the Retalians, apart from the fact that most Retalians realise that independence of the islands will at best lead to a struggle for influence on the islands between Serenierre and Eiffelland and at worst lead to Serenien dominance over the islands, even when they are officially independent. And given the fact that Serenierre is not really seen as the pinnacle of democracy and social freedoms to put it mildly, Serenien dominance over Retalia is the ultimate nightmare for most Retalians. Each Serenien insult to Eiffelland-Retalia, each Serenien condemnation of the unification of Eiffelland and Retalia, and each Serenien plea for independence of the Retalian Islands will chase the Retalians only farther into the arms of the Eiffellandians, making the Union only stronger and stronger.”

Up to 1.5 million refugees try to leave Loago
EPA MASERU

With the intensity of the war continuously increasing, more and more people try to escape from the hell of the Bush War into the neighbouring countries. As of yet, estimates released by the National Unity Government in Maseru state that from a total population of 27 million, up to 3 million have been displaced internally, with more than half of those wanting to escape the war torn country.

The majority of the refugees come from the central regions of the country, which have seen the most intense bursts of violence in the recent history of the continent. Witnesses from the Mai Mai, Security Forces of the Natalian Expeditionary Corps have said that there is a growing number of ghost towns and villages along the Kaskazi River and the Buruburu River, where much of the fighting is taking place. Some of those villages, especially the ones around Luboya have been evacuated by the Security Forces in a bid to reduce civilian casualties, especially now that the battle there enters it's third week, with more and more military casualties piling up.

But there are other refugees which are coming from central Loago, which many wanting to escape from the territory administered by the League of Communists and their government, the Democratic Republic of Loago. Some of them are Muslim Fantes, other are Caledonian whites. They have been the main target of the fury of the Catholic Walas who are the main group in the League of Communists. At the same time, in the north, trying to escape the reaction of the Fante and their autonomous government, the Fante Tribal Union are Catholic Walas.

For many observers, it seems that the ideological lines of the war are slowly being blurred, with the main conflict becoming a religious and an ethnic genocidal one, as the relation between the Fante and the Wala is reaching new lows. The National Unity Government in Maseru is made up of all the ethnic groups in Loago, from Walas to Fante, Caledonians and even a Gunnish member of the cabinet and they try their best in keeping the country together, but it seems that the more this war lasts, the deeper the rift between the Wala an the Fante will be and the chances for Loago to escape it united, slimmer.

Now, there are more than 1.5 million people in total, trying to enter Azraq, ETCOS and Port Stanley, in a bid to escape the war. The main avenues used by the refugees are for the Muslim Fante, going to Betou in the FTU and then along the coast into Azraq, for the Walas, either crossing the Burubura River to enter the Limestone Coast and then go along it to enter ETCOS, or from the territory of the LLC, crossing the border into ETCOS at Gourcy. There is a newer route appearing, across the Kubwa Lake from Umtali, with the goal of reaching Port Stanley. Some of the refugees have stated that they wish to reach in the end Natalia, Pelasgia, Auraria, Eiffelland and Lars.

The West Engell Republic began to shoulder the burden of refugees from this conflict last year by offering refuge for Caledonians displaced and abruptly removed from legal lands and positions. We now encourage Central Europe to do its part by taking on the additional individuals and families seeking refuge.

Rhinos claim the airliner attack
EPA MASERU

An official communique has been received by the local Bulawayo Times newspaper, in which the Rhinos officially calling themselves the Army of the Kingdom of Paradise, are officially claiming responsibility over the Jacaranda Flight 530, which was shot down mere hours ago close to Bulawayo.

The leader of the Rhinos, the self proclaimed Saint Mutupo Sibanda, has stated that he has ordered his "holy warriors" to shoot down the plane because they knew that secretly, the Security Forces of Loago and the Natalian Expeditionary Corps were secretly smuggling weapons to the Mai Mai using civilian air planes. The communique ends by asking "Why else would civilian flights still function over a war zone?" and by stating that the real blame stands with the authorities of Natalia, Caledonia, Azraq and Elban who are propping up an usurper regime.

Masimba, the leader of the Loagan League of Communists and the Chairman of the Popular Front of the Liberation of Loago has issued a statement in which he distances himself from the attack on the airliner, but he still condemned the Loagan and Natalian authorities for smuggling weapons to the Mai Mai using civilian planes.

The Natalian and Loagan authorities responded by condemning the attack, with Natalia issuing a week long period of mourning for the death of innocent civilians and have reaffirmed the need of the "Life goes on program," under which the flight was operating. Under this program, the Maseru government pays Natalian, Stanleyan, ETCOS and Azraqi companies a danger premium, to try to keep the transportation routes alive in the Limestone Coast and FTU, as a way to keep Loago from becoming a fully fledged failed state and to hasten the recovery for when the war ends. Thus, the EAC 1-11 "Hunyani" flew in the morning from Santa Cruz to Damara on flight 509, then from Damara to Bulawayo on the ill fated flight 530 and it would finish the day with a third flight, from Bulawayo to Jugol.

With fears that the resurgence of the Rhinos might bring back the fearful days of the 1970s Natalian Bush War, the government led by Sabina Iniesta is trying to keep the Rhinos away from Natalia and to bring the fight in central Loago, where the Rhinos are based and allied with the Loagan League of Communists.

The attack on the Jacaranda plane is a step up in the intensity of violence targeting civilians in the Loagan Bush War, which until now has seen moments of ceasefire so villages can be evacuated of civilians and refugees were allowed to pass. With the military successes of the LLC in Loago, which culminated a few months ago with the setting up of a government for a Democratic Republic of Loago, the RANU insurgency in Port Stanley, the resurgence of the Rhinos, the Rozvian heterodox group which is following the teachings of their self-appointed prophet, Rangarirai Nkomo, who led a failed war against the Natalian government in the 70s, and now with the Ahmari rebellion in Cabaon, it is clear that in just a year, the Eastern Himyar has become one of the most military active zones in Europe.

The difference between the Himyari Bush Wars and the Gallo-Germanian 7 Day War being given by the chronicity of the wars, many of the conflicts now representing the boiling point of a slow rise in tension, which has accumulated since the last great wave of wars, the Decade of War in the 1950s. While the 7 Day War has been concluded with the signing of the Camp Hill Treaty, between the Trier Concord and the Rurikgrad Pact, the asymmetrical style of the Himyari conflicts make them last for a much longer time.

It has been speculated by many that the LLC has fostered an alliance between them, the RANU, Ahmari, the Rhinos, Rejectionist wings of the Pelasgian DKKP and some sources say, even the Shamo Movement for the Poor and Dispossessed. The sources about the communist Azraqi political party have never been verified yet, the Ahmari have broken away from this alliance since their rebellion against the interim government of Hamza Alin and now, the recent statement of the LLC might be a diplomatic artifice to try and steer the movement away from the disapproval of the international community after the airliner attack, but at the same time, it might also represent the creation of a rift, between the way Masimba is leading the group and the way he might see the Rhinos as being too radical and too trigger happy.

Serenien cargo ship struck by Eiffello-Retalian territorial waters
AP Ardeche

Port authorities in Ardeche have announced that the MS Hyacinth has been struck by an unknown vessel in the Retalian Sea within the territorial limits of Eiffello-Retalia. It is said that the situation is currently ongoing and there is confusion as to what has transpired exactly. Some sources have said that the ship in question was being boarded by pirates, others suggest that a submarine was tailing the ship or that the Eiffellander Navy is attempting to hijack the vessel and its sailors. The confusion remains unsolvable at the moment.

The events have so transpired as the leadership of all the Retalian Sea nations are meeting in Lars to discuss a new international standard for the Retalian Sea and its maritime claims.

Ministry of Defence of Eiffeland-Retalia issues statement on the sinking of the MS Hyacinth

During a press conference at the Ministry of Defence, Minister General a.D. Egon Kranzer and Generaladmiral Cosimo Garrisi gave a description of the situation in the Retalian Sea regarding the MS Hyacinth. Minister Kranzer started to emphasize that the incident took place in a part of the Retalian Sea whose status is subject to confusion. The place where the MS Hyacinth sunk is considered and treated as international waters by the Eiffelloretalian government, but claims on the Retalian Sea by the former Retalian government led to the perception that the waters in question would be considered Eiffeloretalian territorial waters. Minister Kranzer indicated that currently there is a summit going on in Lars that Eiffelland-Retalia attended with the intention to officially turn large parts of the Retalian Sea into international waters.

Generaladmiral Garrisi gave the following description of the situation: "What happened to the MS Hyacinth is something that we considered only possible in Engellexian and Westernessian disaster movies from the 1970s. But now it happened in reality. The MS Hyacinth fell victim to a submarine ramming it while it was under the attack by pirates. At 10:22 this morning, one of our Navy vessels reported the presence of an item resembling a submarine at the sea floor of the Retalian Gate. At the same time, the MS Hyacinth was entering the Retalian Gate. This was an unicum to us, because Eastern Serenierre is mainly served by ships carrying the Borovangen flag. While the MS Hyacinth entered the Retalian Gate, we witnessed four speedboats rapidly approaching it. We suspected an assault by pirates, so we sent in helicopters to block off that attack. At the same time, a second submarine appeared and followed a collision course towards the MS Hyacinth. Because the pirates seemed to be about to board the MS Hyacinth, the pilots of the helicopters decided to immediately attack the pirates' speedboats instead of following a more cautious approach. At that moment, the second submarine rammed the MS Hyacinth. It was unknown what kind of submarine it was, so it was decided to drop depth charges in order to let the submarine emerge. That failed. We are currently looking for the submarine having rammed the MS Hyacinth. During our action, a submarine of the Navy of Pohjanmaa emerged. The crew of the MS Hyacinth refused to be rescued by us, so we asked that submarine to rescue them. The situation is still continuing. We will thoroughly analyse all events. Also the question whether we used too much violence too soon will be on the table."

Minister Kranzer added to this: "There is one thing we have to mention though: It was not our intention to prevent the MS Hyacinth from sailing into the Retalian Gate. The only thing we wanted to do, was saving the MS Hyacinth from an assault by pirates. If that led to victims among the crew of the MS Hyacinth, we will take the blame for that. However, we do not consider ourselves guilty of this accident. The blame for the sinking of the Hyacinth lays with the crew of the submarine ramming it, and with the pirates. There is also another thing we have to mention. Piracy is unacceptable according to the Government of Eiffelland-Retalia. Piracy has never been a problem in the Retalian Sea for over 500 years; we are dedicated and prepared to prevent pirates from deploying their activities in the Retalian Sea and the Long Sea, even when they act in international waters."

We shall investigate the strange events of the day in the Retalian Sea. It is the stance of the Serenien Government that the wreck site and all critical witnesses must be investigated by a duly appointed Serenien investigation committee - which may be chaired by a citizen of a neutral country such as the Two Kingdoms.

Premier Martinique has authorized the deployment of naval and aerial assets to the scene to secure the site and the wreck for the investigation. Given that the vessel is a Serenien one, prior rights fall with Villesen. It is hoped that the Government of Eiffello-Retalia shall cooperate to that effect.

HOW OSTMARK FEEDS ITS OPPRESSED PEOPLE ANTI-CAPITALIST PROPAGANDA

By Angelika Klein

VIENNA (People's Republic of Ostmark) - For nearly five years, former welder Horst Paul Grasser has warned the Ostmarkian people that capitalism is a murderous cliquè of industrialists and financial lobbies bent upon their annihilation — and their only chance of survival is readiness for an attack. Since Grasser's rise to power in October 2018 this policy of paranoia without end has driven massive spending on anti-air defense systems and coastal bunkers, justified the deprivation of the most fundamental civil rights and individual freedoms and kept much of the population isolated and oppressed. Sacrifices must be made, the regime insists, to keep the “Capitalist bastards” at bay.

As measured by the population's blind support for the regime, this “demonize-the-capitalists” strategy has worked exceedingly well and today the world's most infamous Volksrepublik is by far the most repressive totalitarian state of Gallia-Germania and possibly of Europe. Like all dictatorships, the National-Syndicalist regime needs a boogeyman — an evil outside actor to blame for the regime’s many failings and cruelties, which range from regular outages of electricity, to chronic lack of gasoline. Some defectors reported the existence of labour camps for dissidents, but such claims have never been confirmed.

For Host Grasser, there has never been any doubt who the boogeyman must be. It’s Capitalism, which according to his propaganda pulverized Ostmark's economy during the so-called Days of Sorrow "Our people have strong anti-capitalist sentiments because they suffered great damage at the hands of the capitalist lobbies during the Days of Sorrow. . We make no secret of this. Who can guarantee that the capitalist imperialists will not attack this country again? What is most important in our preparations is to educate all the people to hate financial capitalism and imperialism." he said during an interview in early November 2018.

Since then, the National-Syndicalist People's Party has embraced the fact-based narrative of the economic crisis and the default of the national economy as a kind of bedtime horror story. It performs a nation-building service essential to dictatorship: It inculcates fear. It foments hatred. It reminds Ostmarkians that capitalism and liberalism maimed their people and their country. Most importantly, from Horst Grasser's perspective, it reinforces the paranoid notion that only a militarized state can prevent "giant capitalists" from coming again, this time with bombs and fire and death. Nothing suggest that Horst Grasser intends to soften his grip over the small german country, and its recent history shows that hating capitalism and liberalism — and blaming them for all of Ostmark's problems — is essential to the survival of the regime.

We agree with the notion that Serenierre has the prior rights to investigate the case. We will cooperate with that effect.

Central administration arrests 35 feudal lords
EPA Lions || As the Central Secretariat has taken charge of the Protectorate of Occitania, a series of arrests have been made across the country targeting a number of feudal nobles who were found to have lied to the Serenien military and Occitan administration over the past few months since the creation of a Serenien approved feudal system for the Protectorate. The Central Secretariat stated that the individuals in question had been found abusing the civil rights granted to tenant farmers and were in gross violation of the norms of human rights by imposing traditional punishments on peasants on their farming lands.

The Central Secretariat announced that while the feudal system was allowed to continue within certain limits for agricultural purposes, the imposition of civil rights was absolute and no noble could claim superiority of customs to knock the Basic Law.

The military governor, Lt. General Sylvestre X. Damas of the Serenien Army welcomed the resolute stance taken by the newly established civil administration and assured the Central Secretariat that the Serenien security agencies would cooperate fully in any proceedings against violators of the Basic Law.

Kollamese nationalists to prop up Azraqi government

JUGOL - The All Islands Kollamese National Union has struck a supply-and-confidence deal with the Azraqi government, which will see the AIKNU support the ruling coalition during key votes in return for more progress on Kollamese home rule.

Commentators in both mainland Azraq and Kollam, also known as the Azraqi Spice Islands, hailed the agreement as historic.

There had been rumours of the AIKNU becoming a formal coalition partner to the Justice Party and Movement for Poor and Dispossessed but sources close to the negotiations say both sides decided a looser arrangement was more beneficial.

They also suggested Azraq's largest opposition party calling on the Emperor to suspend democratic governance and rule directly hastened the deal. "An imperial dictatorship or fresh elections was in nobody's interest," said a MPD lawmaker.

The AIKNU demands what it calls for "total autonomy", with Kollam electing its own parliament and heads of state and government. Campaigning for outright independence is illegal under a number of anti-terror and sedition laws in place in Azraq.

The party also claims to represent all the archipelago's various ethnic groups, though has been accused of being dominated by the mostly Hindu Alamese and Irulan people and discriminating against the majority Muslim Dawipans.

AIKNU insiders say the Justice Party's and MPD's support for decolonisation enabled the talks in the first place, with the MPD initiating.

Some Azraqi pundits believe the deal will infuriate the Dawamalian elite who have traditionally ruled the Empire, and may see them try harder to frustrate coalition reforms.
