ORTHODOX CATHOLIC CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST
ECUMENICAL PATRIARCHATE OF PROPONTIS
Top Secret
| July XIII, AM (V)MMDXXIX

From: The Ecumenical Throne
To: Patriarchate of Ivar
Subject: Status Report

Brothers,
The Ecumenical Throne in Propontis has observed the developments in the @Kadikistani Union with profound sorrow. The lives lost or ruined, the ancient freedoms trampled upon, the destruction of some of Germania's oldest Christian communities, and the pillaging and ruination of centuries of Kadikistani and Christian heritage by the rabid atheists of the Communist youth are far too tragic for words to describe. The Ecumenical Throne has done all in its power to cooperate with the Imperial Government in Propontis, as well as foreign governments such as that of Nanxing, and the various Autocephalous Churches, such as those of Remuria and Furlanie, to aid the Kadikistani faithful in whatever way possible.
Before considering further steps, the Ecumenical Throne has instructed me to inquire as to the current state of the Kadikistani flock; namely, its size, the number of those still in freedom and those imprisoned or slain, the extent to which underground organisations exist, the makeup of the free population (men, women, children, elderly), and their capacity to fight or their ability to flee. I would also like to inquire as to the location of the faithful. It is our recommendation that, no matter what, those near border areas which are not tightly guarded attempt to flee, so as to make their way to Pelasgia and other Orthodox countries; Nanxing in particular has publicly vowed to aid us in evacuating Orthodox refugees. Those who, for whatever reason, cannot or do not wish to flee, must instead hide and lay low, and await further instructions.

ORTHODOX CATHOLIC CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST
JUNIOR PATRIARCHATE OF IVAR
Top Secret
| July XV

From: Junior Patriarchate of Ivar
To: The Ecumenical Throne
Subject: Status Report

Brothers,
We give thanks to the Almighty Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth that we have received word from you. No doubt the new restrictions by the rejectionists have delayed this communiqué, but we never lost faith that our brothers and sisters of the cloth in the Holy City of Propontis would stand by us in this darkest of hours. Indeed many of us have already been forced to to be judged by the Almighty since the crackdown began. The new regime initiated its violence by arresting all the leadership and known affiliates of the semi-institutionalized Church. We regret to inform you that the Patriarch of Ivar was one of the first martyrs, being viciously dragged through the streets, towed by military vehicles. Such horrible sights became frequent. Reports have come in from archimandrites across the country stating horrible crimes such as the burning of holy places and churches with those who held the faith still inside them. The rejectionists, supported by the anti-revisionists, have even cut their own flesh as many political figures of faith belonging to the reformist faction have either disappeared or been publicly executed by mainly Red Guards, seemingly possessed by Satan himself.

Your letter, the lateness thereof no doubt caused by disruptions by the new regime, has reached us in a severely weakened state. Those who refuse to renounce their faith are butchered as spies and traitors, those who do are taken to re-education camps in the High North. We have set up underground networks, but they are still fragile and often subject to exposure by the highly efficient security forces with the help of apostate collaborators seeking to save their earthly skin by sacrificing their eternal soul. The nation we live in has been trying to keep people from escaping for over a century and has become proficient at it. Those who are strong enough to undertake the journey try the Eastern wilderness paths, through Ocheyna and Xinhai, but it is a path full of peril and we have yet to receive word from anyone who made it. The Western borders are hermetically sealed with only the truly desperate undertaking such endeavours.

There are those who will not abandon their brothers and sisters, such as myself. Clandestine churches have been organized in the southern heartland with varying success. There are young ones who are willing to fight, but we fear the exposure that comes with it will reveal the few networks the State has not yet managed to infiltrate. Nevertheless we stand by and await your instructions and if it is God's plan we will sacrifice our earthly existence. I pray that by the time this letter reaches you, we will have endured.

Signed and sealed in faith,

ORTHODOX CATHOLIC CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST
ECUMENICAL PATRIARCHATE OF PROPONTIS
Top Secret
| July XVIII, AM (V)MMDXXIX

From: The Ecumenical Throne
To: Junior Patriarchate of Ivar
Subject: Status Report

Archimandrite Zverska,
The Ecumenical Throne is profoundly saddened to hear of these tragic news. As a Martyr of the Faith, the Patriarch of Ivar has earned his place among the Saints of God, as have all those who have perished due to their Belief in Christ. They have earned their place in Heaven, and in the collective memory of Christiendom. Rest assured that prayers are being said for all their sakes in Christian churches across Europe.
Given the current state of the Christian community in Kadikistan, the Ecumenical Throne recommends the following actions:
  • All Christian communities in Kadikistan are to keep their activities secret; there is no point in useless bloodshed against an overwhelming foe. For now, all Orthodox Christians in Kadikistan are to secretely organise based on a cell system headed by a priest, so as to avoid detection and betrayal.
  • All Christians who wish to leave Kadikistan are to attempt to reach the closest diplomatic mission of Nanxing. Nanxing has promised to extract them by granting them diplomatic passports or putting them on diplomatic cargo vessels. Those who cannot reach such missions and leave near a border that is less closely guarded are encouraged to begin preparations to cross the Eastern wilderness. Pelasgia will attempt to coordinate with local authorities to negotiate passage for the refugees.
  • Finally, those who wish to remain and fight must bid their time. They must try to infiltrate Kadikistani regime institutions, where possible, and to make preparations for strategic hits to enact revenge against non-civilian regime targets when windows of opportunity present themselves and the current tensions has sufficiently died down. Militant cells and cells of peaceful underground Christians must be kept separate to avoid detection. Nevertheless, we generally discourage armed resistance, as it is both inconsistent with Christian forbearance, and would likely result in fruitless slaughter.
Though victory might seem unlikely, you must not forget the message of our Saviour's sacrifice. Though our Lord and Saviour was crucified and buried, He did, in the end, rise from the dead, and conquer both those who crucified Him and death. The Christian must fear neither death nor persecution, for, through his true faith, he has ultimately conquered eternal life in the embrace of the Lord.
