The Jacaranda Cup
Organised by the Rugby Union of Natal
supported by the Government of the Union of Natal in cooperation with the Board of Tourism

The annual rugby tournament, the prestigious Jacaranda Cup is soon to begin. The worlds greatest rugby clubs from around the world have qualified and will enter into a knockout tournament until one club stands to take home the Jacaranda Cup. This competition will begin soon and will be hosted within the Union of the Natal.

OOC: Just like previous things. Anybody can enter as many clubs as they wish (Probably around 3-4, depending on your nation's population you could have more or less) and these clubs would have qualified by typically winning their own national league/tournament.

General rules in the group stage:
1. There will be 6 matches per pool. Each team will play with each other.
2. Each win will be awarded 3 points and each draw will be awarded 1.
3. The club with the most points from each pool will proceed to the knockout phase.

I know I may be butchering the rugby setup with this, but I know my football (soccer) rules in cups and championships better than the rugby ones.

So for the matches themselves:
Coin Flip to decide which team starts:

Team that wins coin flip enters Stage 1 with ball.

1. Run with ball:
Roll die.
1-2 opposition gains the ball (and enters Stage 1 with ball)
3-4 enter scrum
5-6 roll for try

2. If SCRUM is entered:
Roll die
1-3 opposition gains the ball
4-6 ball is maintained return to step 1.

3 [a]. If team achieves roll for TRY:
Roll die.
1-2 fail
3-6 TRY achieved +4 points

3 . NOTE: if a 2 roll is achieved re-roll.
5-6 becomes a ''Drop Goal'' +1 points.

4. If a TRY is achieved:
roll 1 die for conversion.
1-3 fail
4-6 conversion achieved +2 points

Team that scored TRY or drop kick, opposition enters phase 1 with ball.

10 total runs are made per ''match''.

Jacaranda Cup Group Matches - Phase 1
Pool A
Sat 14th of November, Anthony Stone Stadium, Harton, Afternoon.
Oudoceus and Consumption (The Poppers) Vs Racing Club de Servette Angrie
Score: 22 - 18 Scrums: 10.
Notes: A very intense opening match. In the first half, the Gaullois seemed to have dominated the Engells and gave the impression that this would be an easy first match for them. In the second half, the Poppers came back very energetically and managed to quickly play around the Gaullois as if they were a completely different team. The energy of the Engells seemed to have died down in the last minutes as the score was 22-14, but the Gaullois didn't have enough time to take back the lead, leaving the Poppers victorious in the opening match of the Jacaranda cup.
Sat 14th of November, Anthony Stone Stadium, Harton, Evening.
Harton Oryxes Vs Illumination Blackhawks
Score: 32 - 20 Scrums: 11.
Notes: The match started balanced, but in the second half, the energy of the Blackhawks dipped, showing that the Oryxes' style of long run stamina was enough to bring them victory.
Pool B
Sun 15th of November, Anthony Stone Stadium, Harton, Afternoon.
1st Rugby Club Alexandria Vs Ashford Workers' Rugby Club
Score: 18 - 20 Scrums: 5.
Notes: A very aggressive first match between teams from Implaria. Ashford managed to dominate in the first half with a series of successful tries, while Alexandria was lagging behind. In the second half, the match was much more evenly tied, with most of the scrums being seen then. Ashford managed to get the last points in the last minutes of the game, managing to get a victory from an expected draw.
Sun 15th of November, Anthony Stone Stadium, Harton, Evening.
Constantia Crusaders Vs Kaliga Centaurs
Score: 20 - 14 Scrums: 10.
Notes: An interesting match between two teams that can be describes mostly as defensive. The ball was really slippery in this one as was was a continuous back and forth between the Crusaders and the Centaurs. In the first half, the Crusaders were leading, but by mid second half, the Centaurs managed to equalise, only for the Crusaders to score the victory points right at the end. The match opened interestingly with the Crusaders kneeling to say a prayer before the start whistle.
Pool C
Sat 14th of November, Herald Stadium, Blackmere, Afternoon
Royal Headless and Cabbages (Possie Droppers) Vs Trotter's Institutionalised Trade Mongers (The Tits)
Score: 16 - 6 Scrums: 7.
Notes: The match began with the very aggressive Possie Droppers dominating the field and not giving the Tits any chance, but they have wasted three opportunities to score. In a single moment at the end of the first half, the Possie Droppers managed to have a successful try with conversion, turning the score 6-2. In the second half, the Tits tried to equalise, but they got demoralised as the Lions managed dominate the game again, ending the match with an 10 point difference.
Sat 14th of November, Herald Stadium, Blackmere, Evening
Nemedia CR Vs TSV Sachsen Kronburg 1870
Score: 16 - 28 Scrums: 3.
Notes: A very aggressive game where Kronburg have shown that they are actually really capable of winning this cup as they proved to be everywhere on the field, always managing to stop the attacks of the Nemedians, while also playing extremely aggressive. By the half time, the score was 16-4 for Kronburg, only to rise to 28-16 by the end of the match.
Pool D
Sun. 15th of November, Herald Stadium, Blackmere, Afternoon
Trois-Rivièries Olympique Sporting Club Vs Association Sportive Aix-des-Moine
Score: 12 - 22 Scrums: 13.
Notes: A very intense and violent game, with a staggering number of 13 scrums. While both Gaullois teams were seen as similarly good, Aix-des-Moine managed to dominate Olympique, with an intensive start that hit very hard the morale of Olympique, which didn't manage to get their game together to be a real opposition to Aix-des-Moine.
Sun. 15th of Nobember, Herald Stadium, Blackmere, Evening
South Sea's Revenge (The Pirates) Vs Milesia CR
Score: 8 - 24 Scrums: 3.
Notes: A nearly one sided match in which the Milesians have dominated the field and overwhelmed the defences of the Pirates. In the second half, Pirate attacks were victorious against the Milesian defensive, but the Engells lost momentum before making any changes to the result.
Pool E
Sat. 14th of November, Meadow Park, Parow, Afternoon
Tauritania Toros Vs SV Schonen Saksenborg
Score: 14 - 14 Scrums: 4.
Notes: The match started with the Toros opening the score and dominating the 1st half, but the Saxons managed to exploit their opportunities and managed to score and balance the game out, managing to finish the game in draw.
Sat. 14th of November, Meadow Park, Parow, Evening
Blackmere Crocs Vs Branded Merriweathers (The Witches)
Score: 17 - 28 Scrums: 7.
Notes: A very intensive match that was very balanced in the 1st half, which ended with a 12-12 draw. In the 2nd half, the energy of the Natalians seems to have wanned as the Witches have more than doubled their score, defeating the Crocs with no right of appeal.
Pool F

Sun 15th of Nov., Eclipse Stadium, Mzuzu, Afternoon
FC Sportfreunde Laboe Vs Molly's Pillories (The Buggers)
Score: 20 - 20 Scrums: 9.
Notes: A very tense game between two very good teams. The game began with the lead of the Buggers, but by the time of the second half, Laboe has equalised. In the first part of the second half, the Saxons took the lead, but in the last moments, the Buggers managed to score the equalising points..
Sun 15th of Nov, Eclipse Stadium, Mzuzu, Evening
Antiochia Angels Vs Ashhall Caustics
Score: 12-18 Scrums: 5.
Notes: With two tries, both with conversion, the Angels took a comfortable lead in the first half of 12-0. What followed was a pure game of comeback, but 3 successful tries by the Natalian team, only to manage a try with conversion at the end of the game, cementing their victory.
