The election had been tight. Sichaeus Notus was the leader of the Messalian "Kómma Enótitas" the Unity Party. He sat at his desk watching the vote count on his phone. As the results for Crima rolled in he thought back to a conversation he had had a month ago with the newly elected senator of Crima; Paris Sevastós. She had been running for Igétis, just as he was. At the time they had sat down to negotiate; and what a fruitful negotiation it had been. The two parties had unified; her Conservative Union and his Symmachian Party. He had had to give some ground to her more conservative tendencies. Such as promising not to protect the Hindus and obviously giving her the senatorship. But in exchange they were able to focus on tearing down the incumbent. Nico Aetos, leader of Messalia Forward. A Liberal party with dreams of self sufficency from the Symmachia.
52 to 46, two percent eaten up by random independents. By the next morning it was official. Sichaeus Notus was going to be the Igétis. The accusations of election impropriety started immediately. But those issues could be handled later.
