Bohuslav Nedved: "Local stability must be kept if the region is to continue to flourish and progress"
  • Prime Minister calls for regional peace;
  • Nitra to remain a neutral player in the local geopolitical game;
  • Strife in Pannonia a part of a wider liberal vs conservative cold war;
VARNA - Prime Minister Bohuslav Nedved has organised this morning a press conference in front of the Sturova Palace, where he talked about the recent regional issues, especially affecting Pannonia and their influence over the daily life of the citizens of Nitra. In Pannonia, a conflict erupted after a xenophobic attack against the Remis minority in the Zara area has brought on violent riots and an escalation of political tension, with both presidents Franco Hulmin of Remion and Zoltán Kovács of Pannonia are flexing their muscles in regards to the Zara Crisis, one seeing this as a chance to forward his irredentism, the other to centralise his nation and rejuvenate it after a period it has fallen into malaise.

Prime Minister Nedved has shown his concerns regarding the situation in Zara, as Nitra itself has its own minorities which total about 15% of the country's population, but has mentioned the historical social concord that has existed between them in the lands between the Zobor Mountains and the Modra Lowlands and has called for the nations situated in the area, which supersede quite a mosaic of ethnic groups, to do their utmost in respecting the rule of law and social concord, so that the rights of every citizen can be respected and the duties towards them fulfilled.

"The events in Pannonia are truly tragic, as they are inflaming the historical tensions that have existed between the Remis and the Bajorans, leading the region towards a geopolitical crisis of biblical proportions that can engulf the region and push us all into a destructive war. It is my firm belief that something like that is not an aim to any sane mind, but rather only the straying of gullible and naïve people whom are ready to jump the gun and fight in the name of patriotism, in total ignorance of the pain and suffering they can provoke. Local stability must be kept if the region is to continue to flourish and progress. Our own peoples deserve to live in peace with no fear of the day of tomorrow and the one after and it is the duty of any politician to be sure that this goal is accomplished. The government and people of Nitra will remain neutral in this issue and will not take a side, but rather, will lend a hand to both camps in aiding them return to the path of peace. We applaud the government of the Holy Frankish Empire and the Kingdom of Eiffelland for their calls for peace and negotiations, with the former going as far as inviting the camps to a conference to end this situation and we wish to join them in this call. Peace must prevail. In the end, the people want peace. That is what the people want," stated the right honourable Bohuslav Nedved.

Should the conflict in Zara escalate, the Gendarmerie Department of the Drnava Voivodeship has announced that is preparing for the worst and is setting up warehouses for supplies and equipping a local centre for the arrival of refugees from Pannonia. Colonel Timotej Horník, commander of the local gendarmerie unit has stated that the preparations are only for a worst case scenario, and that the authorities believe that there won't be a case for them to be used.

SOCIAL: Preparations for the holiday season are underway in many of Nitra's resorts. As the cold spring has given the chance to many skiers to still use the slopes in the Zobor mountains as late as mid April, rising temperatures and the sudden change from a cold and wintry spring to fully blown summer starting next week are giving many hotel owners great hopes that the May Day holiday, which traditionally opens the summer season, will come packed with tourists. Temperatures are set to rise up to even 30 degrees celsius by the 1st of May and there are have already been many reservations to the hotels in the resorts along the Axshaina Sea coast.

The state to support start-ups, as part of a new economic strategy
  • Adaptable small and medium sized business to be the future;
  • The government aids the easing of doing business;
  • Low to no interest loans to newly funded companies;
VARNA - The Ministry of Economy, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance has announced the commencement of a new program, called 'Nitra 2030', which is seen as the last step in de-corporatizing the country after the last century's infamous National-Corporatist regime has created an inefficient and overbearing economy based on huge but ossified and unadaptable corporations. The regime did fall about 40 years ago, and since then the economy has been pushed towards free market efficiency, but the issues appear, in the eyes of the government in regards to the mentality of the people whom are sceptical towards going into business legally out of fear that like in the long past days, their businesses would be swallowed by the big corporations.

The governments seeks to undermine this train of thought by offering incentives for people starting new business, with his excellency Viktor Jahoda, the ministry of economy, stating that in the current state of the world, it is adaptability that is the most sought after, and for that, the recipe for success cannot be found in the old and bulky state-owned corporations, but rather in start-ups and medium sized businesses owned by people who take pride in the work and are animated by an entrepreneurial spirit that can aid them in navigating through the current economic climate.

For that, the Ministries of Economy and Finance has decided to create a joint fund, which has been named the National Investment Fund, which will offer low-interest to no interest loans to private citizens so they can invest in starting new businesses. Long promised by current Premier, Bohuslav Nedved since he was only a sub-secretary in the Ministry of Economy, back in the early 2000s, the two ministries will work together with the Narodna Banka, the national bank, to have a database of the credit scoring of all citizens wanting to access the funds, so they can be screened before receiving the money and thus every sum and interest being adapted towards the needs of each applicant.

The Nitra 2030 Program is set to increase the number of small and medium sized businesses in 9 years by 100 to 120%, should it be successful. Besides the financial aid that comes with the investment, the program also offers a 3 year income tax break to the companies developed through it and it is also set to ease the bureaucracy in both funding a business and also trading within Nitra but also with foreign economic entities. More on the ease on the bureaucracy is set to be stated in the coming period by the Ministry of Finance, Teodor Fico.

It is expected that through this program, the pool of small businesses will increase at first, and will manage to push many from economic inactivity into entrepreneurship, providing the nation with a strong impulse towards economic growth. It is expected that medium sized businesses will begin to develop a little bit later, as much more resources need to be invested into those. As of yet, the government expects the tourism and catering industry to be the first to boom through the program.

INFRASTRUCTURE:
The people of Varna are unsure about the status of the new tram line designed to pass through the Staré Mesto, the old town, connecting the neighbourhoods of Rusovce and Devin. Initially organised as part of a suburban light rail system, the project was scrapped and replaced with a traditional tram line, but the new project, passing through the Old Town is raising a lot of questions and criticism, with many protesting against the rolling of heavy trams through the largely pedestrianised Old town, which is characterised by its medieval architecture and its short and narrow streets.

ENTERTAINMENT: The long awaited Nitran epic drama Pribina, is set to premiere this evening at 8pm on the RTVN1 channel. Pribina is a historical drama centred along the life of the eponymous, first Nitran Grand Prince, and his struggles to transform a series of slavic tribes into the modern day Nitran nation, while also being threatened by Pannonian and Kurkic raids. Pribina is the most expensive television series made in Nitra, with a budget of over 5 billion Koruny.

His Majesty the king hospitalised after an episode of acute exhaustion
  • His Majesty, aged 68 has had such episodes in the past, leading to extensive hospitalisations;
  • The King has barely been seen in public in the past 2 years, most of his royal duties taken over by his daughters;
  • Should he abdicate, he is to be succeeded by his eldest daughter, Princess Amalia Sofia;
The Royal Palace has announced this morning that it has been decided that his majesty, King Alexander III will be hospitalised for about two weeks the very least after an episode of acute exhaustion. While nothing has been stated as of yet from the Palace nor the government, there have been rumours that his majesty has fainted and fallen while working in his office, during a meeting with Prime Minister Bohuslav Nedved.

In the past, his majesty has been hospitalised quite often because of exhaustion and other as of yet un-stated health issues, and he spent as much as 3 months in the hospital in 2013. In the past 2 years, his health has deteriorated more and more and he has barely been seen in the public, with most of his duties being taken over by his daughters, princesses Amalia Sofia, Petra and Tamara.

Since he was a young child, the health of King Alexander has been a notoriously taboo subject, with many believing when he was born that he was too frail and sickly to get past the stage of toddlerhood. His father, the late King Bronislav II did state back in 1970 that he might have the crown jump him, because the pressure might be too much for the young king, and go to his younger brother, Prince Tomáš, but the unfortunate death of the prince in a car accident in 1984, has put Prince Alexander again in the position as the sole heir to the throne, which he took after the death of his father in 1992.

"His majesty's health has always been an issue to many of the workers from the Royal Palace, which had to continuously monitor it, but as much as he was shielded from the royal duties by his esteemed father, King Alexander has done his royal duties to the nation, people and crown with due diligence, becoming maybe one of the most temperate and hard working monarchs the Kingdom of Nitra had in the past century, even if that put an immense strain on his already frail health. He has become an epitome of duty for us all and will probably be remember in the future as a model to follow by monarchs and politicians alike, as he put his own interests behind the ones of the nation and behind his duties as a King," stated Daniel Novák, Seneschal and head steward at the Royal Palace.

It is believed that this new episode of intense exhaustion that necessitated a hospitalisation will be bringing again to the forefront the subject of abdication for his majesty so that he can retire and tend to his own health, while the crown will be taken by his eldest daughter, Princess Amalia Sofia. If she is to accept the crown, as Queen Amalia II, she will become the 3rd woman to become a reigning monarch of Nitra.

OTHER NEWS
ECOLOGY:
The Ministry of Forestry and Environment, has announced a zero tolerance policy towards poaching, in an effort to increase the numbers of brown bears, lynxes, foxes and wolves in the primeval forests of the Modra Lowlands. The Nitran Lynx has been recognised since the beginning of the last century as the national animal of the Kingdom and since then there have been many efforts to bring back the felines to their natural numbers, which have been decreasing for centuries.

CURRENCY EXCHANGE: The Koruna has increased in value as Nitra is being recognised as an island of stability not influenced by the current crisis in Zara between Pannonia and Remion. The statements of Prime Minister Nedved calling for stability and promising Nitran neutrality is what has brought the value of the Koruna up from 10 NK to 1 EM, to 9.4 NK to 1 EM.

We extend our best wishes to His Majesty King Alexander and pray for a speedy recovery. King Alexander indeed reigned Nitra with much wisdom, for which he earned our admiration.

We are pleased to hear that the government of Nitra shares our opinion on the situation in Zara. Would it be an idea if we cooperate to work towards a peaceful solution to the Zara-conflict?

We may have a solution to the public transport problem in the old town of Varna: Battery-electric buses and hydrogen-powered fuel-cell buses. Applying this system will eliminate the need to install tram rails, as well as the vibrations emerging from heavy trams passing by.

Magarus A.G.
Köln, Eiffelland

We would like to suggest an alternative to a tram system in the old town of Varna: Trolley buses. This is also an electric system, but cheaper to install and maintain (because no rails are needed), and the buses have a lighter run than trams. Please see below for an example of an articulated bus; we can also make smaller non-articulated buses.

His Majesty abdicates while on hospital bed, leaving Princess Amalia Sofia as heir
  • King Alexander signs abdication proclamation on hospital bed;
  • His eldest daughter, Amalia Sofia, to become the new Queen of Nitra;
  • The end of an era and the beginning of another;
The Royal Family and the authorities from the Knižvart Castle have formally announced the abdication of his Majesty, King Alexander III, citing the lingering health issues the king has suffered from, which have not been an even bigger burden on his health because of his age. The Abdication Proclamation exists in the Nitrian Constitution since the days of the Organic Accords in the middle ages, which have given the nation its ancient parliament and democratic traditions, empowering the šľachta (the nobility). It has been used only trice before, the first two cases when the šľachta has decided the forced abdications of Kings Rastislav the Lame (1322) and Radomir II (1620) for abusing their powers and violating the rights of the nobility, and once by King Karel III (1886), whom has abdicated under the same circumstance as King Alexander III today, citing a deteriorating health.

It has been reported that his majesty has been in a continuous state of drowsiness in the first days in the hospital and has decided to sign the Proclamation today, managing to get enough energy to do it. The Royal Family has spent most of the week in the hospital by the king's side and have all participated in the unofficial and impromptu but very important ceremony where he signed the abdication. His eldest daughter, Amalia Sofia, his heir, will from now become the Queen of Nitra, more than certainly taking the Regnal name of Queen Amalia II.

To complete the ceremony, the parliament must meet in a join session, with both the šľachta and the deputies of the commoners to vote on the Act of Succession, thereby recognising the signing of the Abdication Proclamation and then the recognition of Princess Amalia Sofia as Queen of Nitra. Only after the vote in the Rada, can the succession process continue and the coronation ceremony begin to be organised.

"We are saddened to hear about the problems his majesty is facing and we are ready to stand by him and the royal family in those hard times. The Kingdom of Nitra has a millenarian tradition of nationhood and has gone through a series of crises and has managed to pull through and become stronger and better. We will go through this too and we will manage to come together as a nation, thanking King Alexander for his service and welcoming Queen Amalia as our new monarch," stated Prime Minister Bohuslav Nedved.

TRANSPORTATION:
The Ministry of Transportation has announced that in 2020, a total of 65km of highways have been built in the country, with a 15% rise over 2019. As of yet, in 2021 the government reports that 29km of highway have been built as part of the Lower Modra Highway. Should the construction continue at this rate, 2021 will be a record breaking year.

It fills us with sadness to hear that His Majesty King Alexander's health is deteriorating to such an extent that he has to hand over his duties. We include him in our prayers, and send him our best wishes.
Also our best wishes to Queen Amalia Sophia, who has to take over her father's duties under such circumstances. With her accession to the Throne, the people of Nitra will be in the hands of a wise Queen. May her reign be prosperous.

Nardona Rada convenes to recognise Princess Amalia Sofia as Queen
  • Joint Session of the Rada votes Royal Proclamation
  • Session headed by Prime Minister Nedved
  • Succession to take place smoothly
The Narodna Rada has convened in an extraordinary joint session, headed by Prime Minister Bohuslav Nedved, to vote and sign the Royal Proclamation Act, the next necessary step in the royal succession process. Nitra has a unique monarchic succession system which is a hibrid between a hereditary one and an elective one, showing elements from both. Historically, the Grand Prince and later King of Nitra was elected from within the šľachta, showing clear elective elements, but as time passed and certain šľachtic families grew more and more powerful and influential, the pool of royals was slowly reduced to members of those families. Since they were first elected as Monarchs in 1775, the Tesarik family has held the Rada in high regards and even if by then the succession was practically hereditary, the voice of the šľachta could still be heard in the Rada in regards to the succession as every heir is to be crowned only after approved by parliament.

The Royal Proclamation Act (Kráľovský Proklamačný Akt) has been read in front of the joint session by Prime Minister Nedved, which was followed by a debate in regards to how prepared is Princess Amalia Sofia to sit on the Black Eagle Throne. This debate is part of the formalities regarding the vote, with Rada members holding speeches for and against the preparedness of the heir in taking the throne and they usually follow a historical script, with the ones against it calling the heir out to his or her inexperience and youth, while the ones approving commending their education and illustrious lineage, stating that they are ready to lead the nation.

The vote followed, with all the Rada members voting in approval of Princess Amalia Sofia, cementing her way towards her coronation as Queen Amalia II and Nitra's third queen regnant. Political analysts have been surprised that the session ran smoothly as they were expecting members of the Corporatist Party, which has taken republican undertones since Gabriel Chren became its chairman, to boycott or at least vote against the Princess, or at worst, even disrupt the session, but they too voted in approval with the rest of the members. As of yet it is only the Agrarian Party which calls itself a royalist party, with the others not mentioning it, but that is because as it has been observed, the episodes where the form of government were discussed in Nitra are so far away (last republican uprising took place in 1875), that the current status quo became a part of the national spirit.

"We are glad to manage to see this great and traditional episode take place smoothly as it should, with no worries and no issues. The Royal Proclamation Act is probably the most important element in the Nitrian monarchic institution, probably weighting even more than the crowning itself, it represents the spirit of Nitrian elective monarchism, what has made this country different from the others and what has kept us away from tyrants as the Rada was always there to complement the attributes of the monarch. The episode itself is foreign to traditional Slavic culture, but it is imported from the old Tiburans which lived on those lands when the Slavs migrated, as the most important part of the investiture of a Tiburan Emperor was the military proclamation," stated Prime Minister Bohuslav Nedved.

ENTERTAINMENT: NTS is preparing to launch an on demand streaming platform on their website, which will be opened to all people which are registered for paying the TV and Radio Licence Tax or for those who are not, through a subscription system. This is seen as the next step in keeping up with the advancements of the 21st century and with the renewed contracts with the Varna Film Studios Corporation and the Pribina Entertainment Studios, NTS expects a whole new wave of quality local productions to hit the market.

Civism, Solidarity and Environmentalism, the new path of the National Civic Party
  • Prime Minister Bohuslav Nedved proclaims a new path
  • Civic Party's Executive Committee votes on new Party Program
  • Labour Day seen as a symbolical day for the new program
The Executive Committee of the National Civic Party has organised it's yearly congress on May Day, this one being the 7th congress led by Bohuslav Nedved as Party Chairman, and the 4th in which he is Prime Minister too. With a record breaking attendance of over 5,000 delegates as the Veľké Theatre's Concert Hall from all over the nation's voivodeships.

The new party program, designed by Prime Minister Nedved and voted on by the delegates has been described as a return to the roots of the National Civic Party, prioritising Civism and Solidarity, but also with the 21st century addition of environmentalism to the party's ideology. The National Civic Party has been born in the mid 1980s, representing the main reformist and revolutionary movement that has brought down the National-Corporatist Regime and its dictatorship, paving the way towards a return to the traditional Nitran democracy and creating the modern day rule of law dominating the country. The party was born out of an alliance of anti-corporatist dissidents and was slowly centralised into its current structure, but it has always been ideologically seen as a centrist big-tent party. It had periods when it was leftist tendencies back in its early days, as a reaction to the far right corporatists, then in the 90s and early 2000s it moved towards a centre-right position and under its current leadership its slowly moving back towards its original centrist to centre-left position, espousing an eclectic ideology, mixing in social liberalism with nationalism.

The "Return to Civism", as the first part of the party program is named, is mixed in with the "Promise of Solidarity" and represents a move away from the classical view of Nitran nationalism, and rather it calls for the development of a Civic National viewpoint in the policies of the nation and the people, where national inequality is to be reduced through social policies enhancing the right to the people to equal chances, the increase in spending in healthcare, welfare and education and the defence of what are called "National Strategic Sectors", representing pretty much the party's promise that it will block the privatisation of state owned corporations activating in the energy, transportation and infrastructure and armaments sectors. Also, together with the Agrarian Party, the National Civic Party also promises that it will build a legal framework in regards to the selling of agricultural land to foreign citizens or companies, only after a period of bidding where there is no interest shown for the mentioned land plot by Nitran citizens or businesses.

The last party of the party program, presenting the "Green Development" promises, in which the further development of coal and gas power plants is to be stopped and they are to be gradually replaced with nuclear, hydro, solar, wind or geothermal power plants. Targets are set to be adopted in further policies in regards to the sorting and recycling of waste, which currently sits at around 28%, and are to be raised to 50% by 2027 and to 85% by 2035. The program also calls for the adoption of a state subsidies program to add filters to factory furnaces to further reduce pollution and for heavier fines towards citizens and companies polluting the air, water and soil in violation of the current environmental laws. Heavier sentences are to be given to poachers too, and it is expected that the population of local Gallo-Germanian bison, lynxes, grey wolves and brown bears is to increate through further protection of the national parks. The Party also promises to increase the forested area by 5% in the next decade.

"It is an ambitious plan, that is true, but it is something that not only us, the members of the Civic Party are to aspire, but rather the whole nation, as we are here to defend it and the people. We will participate in the next election with this party program where we want to enhance the solidarity and civic spirit of the people while defending our lands and nature and we hope that the people will understand its importance by supporting us," stated Prime Minister Bohuslav Nedved.

Nation prepares for the crowning of Princess Yuliya Anastasia as Queen Yuliya II

  • Princess Amalia Sofia to become the 2nd Queen regnant of Polesia
  • Grand Royal Ball to be organised in Vitebsk, with foreign delegates invited
  • Wave of optimism hits the nation
The royal capital of Polesia is preparing to enter a new era as the nation is waiting for the investiture of Polesia's 2nd Queen regnant in all of its history. After his Majesty, King Alyaksandr III has signed the acts of abdication on his hospital bed and has thus renounced his position as monarch of the Polesians, the National Rada had to come together in respect to the ancient traditions of the land, to invest the eldest child of the monarch with the status of the heir to the throne.
You must be registered for see images

There were some issues this time, as the Salic laws of the Kingdom of Polesa has made it clear that only male members of the royal house are to become monarchs, but as his majesty had no male issue, only daughters, the Rada made an exception and appointed the eldest daughter of his majesty as the heir to the throne, thus pushing Princess Yuliya Anastasia Alyaksandreevna into the position of future Queen Yuliya II.

It is not the first time Polesia will have a Queen Regnant, as in the 1700s, Queen Yuliya I came to the throne and managed to unite Polesia rising it from the depths of existential crisis and pushing it into a westernising trajectory, modernising the state institution, its economy and the military forces. It is thus a name which, for everyone knowing the tiniest bit of Polesian history, carries the extreme weight of the greatest of Polesian monarchs. The coincidence of the returning of a queen named Yuliya to the throne has been seen by many as a symbol of the fate, sparking optimism for the future, as many expect economic book and greatness to be upon the nation.

Princess Yuliya Anastasiya Alyaksandreevna has been known in many circles around the nations for her charity work, as she donated many of her stipends to orphanages and schools around the nation and has kept in touch with the people as she travelled to all the corners of Polesia, meeting with the impoverished and the unfortunate, striving to aid them.

"It is our great privilege, to see the rise of yet another Yuliya to the White Eagle Throne. The Rada, the Government and the People will work closely together with her majesty, the future Queen Yuliya II and we will provide, for this nation deserves to reach greatness. A new era is upon us, and like in the historical times of the 18th century, we will enter a phase of development unseen as of yet, as our economy will rise and our people will enjoy prosperity. Myself and the government will work tirelessly to see it happen," stated Prime Minister Boguslav Kavalenak.

The coronation is set to take place at the St. George Cathedral in Vitebsk, the headquarters of the Polesian Orthodox Church and the historical Cathedral where monarchs of Polesia have been crowned since the 16th century. After the service at the church, a royal ball is organised at the Royal Palace, with delegates from all over the world invited for the event.
