BREAKING: QUEEN EMMELINE HELICOPTER CRASH
HELICOPTER CRASH DURING ROYAL TOUR OF NONESTICA

14th July 2021 10:37

Emmeline, Queen of Great Engellex, has been taken to hospital in Elephaney following a helicopter crash at 10:27 DMT.

An Engellexian military helicopter believed to be carrying the monarch crashed immediately after take off from the gardens of the Engellexian embassy in Elephaney, following an early engagement commencing the Queen’s royal tour in Nonestica.

Placentia Palace, official residence of the Prince and Princess of Camulodunon, has yet to release a statement. No. 5 Hampden Street confirmed that the Prime Minister, Barty Hoppus, will make a statement to the House of Commons this evening.

Afternoon Summary
  • 4h ago - Eyewitness accounts of the helicopter attempting to leave the Engellexian Embassy in Elephaney.
  • 4h ago - Statement from the Engellexian Foreign Secretary
  • 3h ago - Nonestican Prime Minister, Margaret Clarke, press briefing
  • 3h ago - Metropolitan Constabulary sending specialist team to Elephaney
  • 1h ago - Statement from Placentia Palace; Prince Richard, the Duke of Mamestrafford, with the Queen
To be officially confirmed, but sources briefed by the Private Secretary’s Office at Mulgrave Palace said that Queen Emmeline was one of at least six people on the flight. The extent of injuries sustained or of survivors is not currently known.
The crash occurred following a public engagement at the Engellexian Embassy, with the Queen and her entourage leaving by helicopter to meet the Nonestican Governor-General at an official residence on the western outskirts of Elephaney. The Engellexian Army helicopter crashed shortly within the same grounds of the embassy in which it had taken off.
Eyewitness reports indicated that the helicopter had only just taken off, stayed in the air briefly and nosedived, rather than pursue flight course, down to earth. Nonestican emergency services rushed to the scene at the embassy to tackle the fire and provide emergency medical response. Despite the wreckage and fire, security service personnel had been swift and courageous in rescuing Queen Emmeline and other passengers. Elephaney Police eventually secured a cordoned area around the embassy and grounds.

Statement from Foreign Secretary Spencer Canning-Howe
Sir Spencer Canning-Howe, the Foreign Secretary, has described the government and country as hamstrung by the devastating news of the helicopter accident involving the Queen.
Speaking to the House of Commons, the Foreign Secretary confirmed this morning, at ten-twenty-seven Dulwich Mean Time, the country - indeed, the Thaumantic, sustained the shock of her Majesty the Queen’s unthinkable accident in Nonestica. Under such circumstances, without hinderance of extraneous considerations, the Engellexian Government has been induced, in unison with the Nonestican Government, to pursue a peculiar set of protocols to confront the unhappy and serious sequence of events.
Now some persons may think that a respectful, delicate reference to her Majesty’s duties and public service immediately before the incident should prove appropriate, yet I shall defer to the Prime Minister’s statement to the House later.
The administration of the Foreign Office, at the outset, has been timely and indefatigable. Specialist teams from the Air Accident Investigations Branch do proceed, now, across the Thaumantic, and joined by counterparts and assisting expertise from the Ministry of Defence and the Metropolitan Constabulary.
I can allude to the House that, together with the Nonestican Government, we are studiously evaluating every constitutional consideration in respect of the Queen’s admission to an undisclosed hospital in Elephaney. Those considerations do too pertain to Prince Richard, the Duke of Mamestrafford, who remains by the Queen’s side. It is my understanding, as presented to me, that the Duke of Mamestrafford was not a passenger of the helicopter, or indeed in attendance at the particular event.
Security matters, regrettably and understandably, are not for the concern of the House at this time.

Nonestican Prime Minister, Margaret Clarke, holds a press conference
You must be registered for see images
PM Margaret Clarke updates reporters on the details of the helicopter incident, on the condition of the Queen and passengers at a press conference.
I can confirm two people have now died from the incident at the Engellexian Embassy in Elephaney. The Pilot in Command and the Co-Pilot of the The Queen’s Helicopter Flight have tragically lost their lives from the injuries they sustained; their family are being informed and supported. Nine people are being treated for injuries in an undisclosed hospital in Elephaney. Those names I can now publicly share; her Majesty the Queen Emmeline; Lady Caroline Lennox, Duchess of Sheanes; Sir Charles Abernathy; Edward Manners-Soxby; PPOs - Sally Masters, Harold Cray and Jacob Starke; Sir Cloudesley Stamford; Lady Cora Siddon.
Three of those injured are in critical condition. Careful and urgent arrangements are being made to transport her Majesty the Queen and Sir Charles Abernathy to a specialist emergency medical facility in Nonestica.
There is no suggestion of this being a deliberate and hostile act. The Nonestican Government will be welcoming and supporting investigative leadership and intelligence from Great Engellex.

Global Turmoil Disturbs Markets - Square Mile Financial

By Edmund Osborne, Square mile correspondent, OBC News
14th July 2021 16:37 | Markets & Economy

Following a muted confidence from those that believed in Great Engellex as a constant in the growing instability of the Continent and wider world - despite Dulwich, Jacoboston and Elephaney markets following global trajectories - sentiment turned to reflect escalating turmoil to the East and South, but also, and of some importance, what the market has been discounting for months: any sort of disturbance befalling Great Engellex.

  • Breaking: Queen Emmeline Helicopter Crash
  • Live Market Data - Square Mile Financial

The market has resigned itself to constitutional complications, and would need to witness the Queen discharged from medical care or a regency, unlikely to materialise anytime soon. As a result the GE government bonds are coming under pressure. Gilt futures climbed, pushing up the cost of borrowing.

Sterling is down, with the pound hitting a 12-month low against the Euromark at EM1.5210. There have also been some interesting moves against a number of currencies from the Continent, which have been steadily weakened by the Pannonia Crisis and turmoil in Pelasgia; the pound today remaining flat or trending upwards against them.

The DSE 100 is wallowing in red - shedding 100.59 points. It then rallied back by around 60 points, before falling again. Currently down 67.06 points at 7,019. That’s a 0.94% drop. Not a market at peace with itself.

Financial and retail stocks lead the fallers - Swire Meridian Group and the King’s Bank of Mamestrafford (KBS) both down 4%, followed by Capital and Counties (3.8% lower) Engellexic Thaumantic Group (3.4%) and Black Eagle Banking Group (BEBG) (3.2%). Out of the risers of the DSE 100, most notable were Engellexian Petroleums (EP), Jacoboston and Engellex Banking Company (JEBC), and the mining conglomerates Engell Westernesse and Presnillo.

We are shocked at the news about Her Majesty Queen Emmeline's helicopter crash. We pray for her recovery, and for the recovery of the other victims of the crash. We also pray for the souls of the pilot and the co-pilot. Our condolences to families and friends of the deceased, and to the governments, parliaments and people of Great Engellex, on behalf of the government, parliament and people of Eiffelland.

50th PRIDE IN DULWICH 2022
LABOUR LEADER LAUNCHES PROUD MANIFESTO

You must be registered for see images
2nd July 2022 19:02 | Pride & LGBTQ Rights

Labour leader Victoria Lister officially launched the party’s Proud Manifesto at Oho Square, commencing Pride Season in Engellex, on Saturday 2 July for Pride in Dulwich and the 50th anniversary of the country’s first Pride.

WHAT IS PRIDE SEASON? It is a specific period of celebrations centred on Engellex' three most established and well attended Pride events, beginning with Pride in Dulwich (2 July 2022), Briztove Pride (5-7 August 2022) and Mamestrafford Pride (26-29 August 2022). There are thousands of Pride events and celebrations across Engellex that take place before, during and after Pride Season. The season is distinct from Pride Month, which is in June, and internationally as well as nationally recognised and celebrated. The Nonestican Commonwealth celebrates Pride predominantly in February and March, owing to being in the Southern Hemisphere.
  • 1972 to 2022 Pride in Dulwich: LGBTQ+ People in Great Engellex 50 Years On

It was a direct challenge to the Independent government and party, the traditionalism they represent and the reversal of social progress under their tutelage over the last twelve years; a glimpse to the scope and depth of change the Labour Party was prepared to undertake. Victoria Lister was welcomed onstage by members of Lesbians and Gays Support Miners (LGSM), who were leading this year’s parade, retracing the original parade and protest route of 1972.

Earlier this year the government backtracked on a manifesto pledge to outright ban conversion therapy in Engellex. Prime Minister Barty Hoppus had deferred to the complexity of the situation that required greater consideration minutes before the government’s proposed bill to fulfil their manifesto commitment. The bill had enough caveats to leave many doubting the sincerity of the government in banning conversion therapy, provoking national outrage and a number of resignations. This follows a decade of radicalised rhetoric and anger targeted at trans people on predominantly manufactured gender and identity concerns, and more recently the wider the LGBTQ+ community.

The charity Polari published troubling statistics this week that both Labour leader and Liberal leader, Rufus Drummond, have accused the government of not only ignoring but fermenting. In the last twelve months, one fifth of LGBTQ+ people have experienced a hate crime or incident related to their sexual orientation or gender identity, rising to two in five trans people in Engellex.

Victoria Lister spoke of the progress achieved over the course of half a century, repealing abhorrent legislation and extending equality in many areas such as marriage, political acts undertaken by almost exclusively Labour governments. She agreed on the need to remind the country on the significance in remembering where it had been, Engellex stands taller today, a more equal, tolerant and open society, in stark contrast to 1972. This is a success of Pride and its tenacious pursuit for human rights, achieving political consensus over fifty years, and realising tangible change for many.

Labour sees the unrelenting campaign - straight white male supremacism - of the past decade, targeted at our less equal and more vulnerable members of society, and we unquestioningly oppose it.

Our commitment to you, the LGBTQ+ community here, and where we can reach, our Proud Manifesto.

  • Labour Party: Proud Manifesto as Published Today

The Proud Manifesto at a glance,

  • Conversion therapy to be entirely and unconditionally banned in Great Engellex. Coercion is not consent and the law will recognise that fact in prosecuting so-call practitioners and institutions. Religious bodies and individual institutions face permanently losing charitable status and tax exemptions, alongside community individuals handed custodial sentences.

  • Reform to the Gender Recognition Act by de-medicalising the process of gender recognition and remove the requirement for a gender dysphoria diagnosis; immediately remove the requirement for the individual to live within the acquired gender for two years; end the need for spousal consent. Instead people will be allowed to self-identify as their chosen gender by signing a statutory declaration. A new Gender and Identities Office to issue the Gender Recognition Certificate, free of charge through a simplified online process.

  • Open five new gender clinics in the first year to reduce waiting times for those seeking treatment.

  • All young LGBTQ+ people to have legally protected right to confidentiality and individual consent in health and education.

  • Common Voice programme - nationwide, encompassing and expanding on already existing initiatives and introducing many new, to promote an inclusive environment for all. Specifically for the LGBTQ+ community, the programme aims to support and provide opportunity for people of all gender identities and and sexual orientations, especially BAME, of faith, disabled and older LGBTQ+ people, to become role models and improve visibility. Hundreds of people will be recruited, trained and funded by the programme, enabling them to go into schools, colleges, universities, other public institutions and organisations to share their personal journey and foster understanding and community. Existing projects, such as Drag Queen Story Time, will be publicly funded and expanded into schools.

  • Reforming the Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) curriculum in primary and secondary schools, expanding statutory guidance to accommodate new LGBTQ-inclusive education.

  • Legal protections to improve and standardise the participation of trans people in sports, clubs and professional leagues. Governing bodies to be held robustly accountable in ensuring there is full legal compliance.

  • Regulate Common Health Service (CHS) clinical commissioning groups to ensure equal access to CHS funding of fertility treatment for same-sex couples and single people with wombs, by removing the requirement to self-fund treatment to demonstrate their medical fertility before access to CHS funding.

  • Improving access to freely available PrEP on the CHS, by allowing patients to access PrEP through GPs. This will coincide with increased funding to allow GP testing of HIV, providing additional means of ending transmission by 2030, and with heterosexual HIV diagnoses overtaking those in gay and bisexual men for the first time in Engellex, is vital.

Labour’s Proud Manifesto is extensive, with policy commitments touching every department of government from health and policing to immigration.

Victoria Lister pledged members of the shadow cabinet will be making themselves available across social media to directly engage with people in support of the Proud Manifesto being published, alongside traditional media interviews.

PM HOPPUS' COMMENTS SPARK ROW
NO. 5. AND FOREIGN OFFICE AT ODDS OVER COMMENTS

5th July 2021 19:03

A political row has seemingly erupted between No. 5 Hampden Street and the Foreign Office this afternoon following comments, attributed to the Prime Minister, made at a garden party event at No. 5.

The comments followed a conversation between Prime Minister Barty Hoppus and the Engellexian ambassador to Natal on the matter of the Equality Front and the events in Toccoa, that occurred yesterday. The OBC’s political correspondent understands that the Prime Minister gave a forgiving appraisal of the Equality Front, and concerns over their symbols, particularly the flag of the South Westernesse Company, as shortsighted abandonment of national heritage. The Foreign Office and, understandably, the ambassador disagreed, with the latter suggesting the Prime Minister did not quite appreciate the context and gravity of the circumstance.

Hampden Street Press Secretary has still to address or comment on the allegations. The Foreign Secretary, Sir Spencer Canning-Howe, is visiting the Nonestican Commonwealth and is yet to face questions or release a statement.

Afternoon Summary
  • 5h ago - Prime Minister accused of poor judgement over comments
  • 4h ago - Engellexian ambassador to Natal disagrees with Hoppus
  • 4h ago - Home Secretary accuses the Labour of undermining the country on immigration
  • 2h ago - Statement from the Foreign Office
  • 1h ago - Shadow Attorney-General Baroness Thangam Mohindra urges the Home Secretary to apologise

Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Independent Party MP Cyril Carew-Egret, has described the Prime Minister’s comments as deeply unhelpful, urging him to retract them and issue an unreserved apology.
In Mamestrafford, Labour leader Victoria Lister voiced concern over the lack of discretion exhibited by the Prime Minister over a materially sensitive subject, stressing it was simply not enough to expect clarity or demand an apology. The Prime Minister has a particular duty to undertake government business, domestically and internationally, with integrity and great consideration. Wading into the domestic matters of other nations, providing flippant commentary on complicated subjects, undermines the reputation and relationships Great Engellex has with friends and partners in Europe; relationships, it should not need be reminded, he is steward off as our Prime Minister. The character of Barty Hoppus remains fundamentally at difference with the responsibility required of him as Prime Minister.
The Labour leader declined to call on the Prime Minister to resign.
Rufus Drummond, leader of the Liberal and Radicals, has described the incident as an unforgivable national embarrassment. It may become urgently necessary that a public inquiry is sought to establish precisely the quality of education that is being provided by the nation’s private schools. To view public criticism of the South Westernesse Company and its symbols as abandonment of heritage astounds me, my sensibilities are truly flabbergasted. He must step down.

Home Secretary accuses the Labour of undermining the country on immigration
The Home Secretary, Eglantine Wargoyle, has accused the Labour Party of willingly undermining the prosperity and social cohesion of the country with its policies on immigration and asylum.
The Labour Party which, alongside the launch of their Proud Manifesto on Saturday, published a number of policies on immigration and asylum in support of the Proud Manifest have taken aim at twelve years of draconian immigration laws from the Independent Party. Shadow Home Secretary, Thomas Mallard, at an event in Dourmouth on Saturday repeated the need to change the approach to immigration and asylum, recognising that the port city bears the brunt of illegal and asylum crossings into the country. What was outlined was not necessarily anything new but, instead, made with a firm commitment from the Labour Party to deliver the policies and a timescale for doing so.
Included, re-establishing a system of safe routes for refugees to apply for asylum in Engellex - restore the Refugee Family Reunion scheme; restart refugee resettlement into the country, which had effectively ground to a halt; launch a new humanitarian visa system to allow refugees to apply for asylum and travel to Engellex safely, legally and beyond the reach of human traffickers.
The Labour Party also propose introducing a bill to render it unlawful to deport LGBTQ+ asylum claimants to countries that persecute LGBTQ+ people.
The Home Secretary has argued these policies will increase migration into the country by the hundreds-and-thousands per year, while preventing the authorities from deporting failed claimants and foreign criminals. The prosperity and social cohesion of Great Engellex will be irreversibly undermined by an unprecedented number of illegal people coming to our towns and cities under the Labour Party.

Statement from the Foreign Office
We have to consider that there has been an unfortunate deterioration in the contemporary understanding of historical events.
We may remember today the political decisions undertaken at the time, to abolish the trans-Thaumantic slave trade, and we do welcome, in particular, the Liberation Day in Natal, the commemorations for the demise of the cruel and unjust system. These events are for unity of community and nation, to show great humanity on reflection of the great historical error.
It was not a characteristic on the whole, but a part of the history and culture of Great Engellex. We rightly express our horror and indignation at those actions today, and we endeavour to be driven forward by passions of humanity and peace, to affect justice and consideration upon our policy today for the improvement of the many.
Great Engellex condemns the violence witnessed on Liberation Day, in Toccoa, and continues to support the peaceable progress in even justice and common prosperity in Natal.

ELEPHANEY & CONJUGIA FLOODS
Flash Flooding & Evacuation Orders Issued Today

By Harriette Fisher, Elephaney correspondent, OBC News
7th July 2021 17:49 | Nonestican News

Thousands of residents, in the Sutherland suburb of southern Elephaney, have received their evacuation orders from local authorities today, as eastern and coastal counties of the state of Conjugia face a mounting deluge from severe storms.

As the worst affected area of Conjugia, thus far, the suburb of Sutherland saw a year’s worth of rain in just four days. Neighbouring counties of Wattamolla, Warramarra, Botany Hills and Bute are also experiencing heavy torrential rain, leaving state authorities little choice but to pre-empt with beach and national park closures across the entire central and southern east coast.

In Sutherland, local residents had been caught unprepared, despite repeated local warnings, as the river Victorias burst its banks during the morning commute necessitating a succession of rescues to be performed by the Conjugian Emergency Services. The river Victorias is now forecast to exceed its highest levels on record, from May 1999, which caused unprecedented flooding and devastation at the time, still unsurpassed. Conjugian Emergency Services in Elephaney gave the order to residents in the low-lying parts of Sutherland, in Elephaney’s south, to evacuate the area by 15:00 today, in anticipation of severe degradation to travel conditions and rapidly increased flooding.

Residents in Warramarra, south-east of Elephaney, had too received orders to evacuate designated areas bordering the Sutherland suburb by 16:00.

Separately, warnings have been issued for preparations to be urgently made in anticipation of evacuation orders being declared in a number of counties to the south of Elephaney, as well as the suburbs of Sutherland, Common and Warra Plains, reflecting forecast concerns.

CES Director General advised residents in affected areas of Elephaney and Conjugia to keep off the roads, with the exception of complying with evacuation orders, warning of conditions which are deteriorating and becoming increasingly dangerous. The CES had undertaken 32 rescues and responded to over 500 requests for assistance so far today, with the Director General informing that the majority of those incidents are of people caught off-guard by flash flooding.

The cousin islands of Warremara among the Nìommonach have been asked by Almskeeper Pherson and the Bishop Gillies to pledge available volunteers and excess alms towards the coastal counties in the state of Conjugia.

The good Bishop shares this passage with Nìomh and outlanders alike: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)

Arrangements are also being made for Almskeeper Pherson to join the volunteer effort directly to meet with officials in Conjugia to distribute assistance from Nieveland where it is needed on the ground.

Peace be upon you,
