FROM: Stavka of the Rus People's Army, Ruska
TO: Colonel-General Artem Stepanovich Vovk, Commander-in-Chief 31st National Guard Corps, 6th Military District Headquarters, Bilovoddya
SECRET
The situation in Bajororszag is deteriorating faster than projected. Intelligence consensus is the collapse of central governments military effort is imminent. Grand Marshal has ordered preparation for unilateral intervention in earnest. You are ordered to assume overall responsibility for war preparation. The Stavka has earmarked the 3rd Tactical Aviation Corps and 12th Mobile Corps to lead offensive operations, to be placed under the command of 31st National Guard Corps, to be re-designated as Army Group Vovk. We have instructed the War Commissariat to give the 31st National Guard Corps the highest logistics priority. The forces of the 6th Military District, under command of Colonel-General Pavel R. Romanenko, are charged with providing flank and rear-area security and upon the commencement of hostilities will be placed under command of Army Group Vovk.
Should you receive the order to attack, your principle objectives will be:
  1. Secure the territory containing Kispest, Bes-Allstadt and Presburg.
  2. Destroy or capture whatever remains of the Pannonian armed forces.
  3. Dissolve the Kispest revolutionary group.
  4. Resist any incursions from Eiffelland until reinforced.
You WILL NOT attempt to enter the territories occupied by the Bourdigne or Eugenian rebel groups or engage in direct combat with their forces without provocation. You WILL engage any foreign forces which attempt to halt your advance on land or in the air. The Stavka is continuing to monitor the situation and if additional forces are to be made available for the offensive operation you will be duly informed. The Stavka intelligence directorate will relay to your Chief of Intelligence the latest and most complete information on the disposition of forces in Bajoroszag, prepare accordingly. This operation will be fully supported by our strategic strike and reconnaissance means.
Field Marshal Panas Bohdanovych Gradenko
Chief-of-Staff, Stavka of the Rus People's Army
OOC: If it's not clear the "31st National Guard Corps" is a dummy unit created to conceal the mustering of Hradreych's intervention force. Anyone who wishes to divine the truth is invited to roll on it.

One-man comedy show series in Eiffelland
Decades ago

"The world is so unstable today... There are so many threats in the world... For instance the Russians... Do you think that the Russians will come? ... I think that they will come, but one-by-one."

Southern-Eiffelland and Bourdignie
Present day

Given Alarmstufe 3, the communications between the various parts of the armed forces already went in code. This alarm level also meant that the air force could take off in 15 minutes, and that the army could start to march in less than 6 hours. An army brigade with equipment was stationed in Bourdignie; the rest of the army this brigade belonged to was in Southern-Eiffelland, ready to engage. Also the air force was present in Bourdignie, with a division of planes.

One of the connection officers received a message. It contained information that the Rus were gathering military units along its western border. The plans were unclear but the increased communication suggested that something was brewing. Exact plans were unknown, but an invasion could not be ruled out.

"Krrrreiz Krruzifix," the officer said. He was from Southern Eiffelland.

"Was ist?" somebody asked.

"Halt deinen Hut fest, die Show fängt an," the connections officer said. [Hold your hat, the show begins.]

Meanwhile, another brigade was transported into Bourdignie. The general leading the operation in Southern Eiffelland and Bourdignie realised that the land connection between Northern-Bourdignie and the rest of the country was quite narrow, and therefore easy to conquer. In that case, the rest of Bourdignie would become a kettle. That had to be prevented.

One of the spy satellites was positioned above Pannonia.

OOC1: The joke is not mine, but from Wim Kan, a Dutch comedian who gave one-man-shows about politics. His success years were the 1960s and 1970s.

OOC2: As you know, my people refer to the Rus as "Russians".

OOC3: Bécs-Altstadt is landlocked in Bourdignie. You can't get there without accessing Bourdignian soil.

If war would indeed break out, then this war would probably become the war of the and the , the two stealth planes from The Federation. But chances were high that the Eiffellandian-built Fallwind would prove to be a good workhorse as well. A couple of them were patrolling the skies above Bourdignie, as well as the skies above Southern and Eastern Eiffelland. Furthermore, from time to time, Eiffellandian pilots of two-seater variants of the Fallwind took Bourdignian pilots with them as passengers.
