Scangermania Express | Train Systems Alliance

Connecting Scandinavian and Germanian Cities With Grace

You must be registered for see images

Scangermania Express is an international long-distance train alliance operating non-high-speed trains connecting various Scandinavian and Germanian cities to one another. A Scangermania Express train must meet certain criteria. The alliance is headquartered in Hilversum, Batavië, where administration offices are located as well as the main control centre, which oversees all trains operating and travelling on the network. Communication between Scangermania Express Train Systems Alliance (SETSA) and the national railway operators is crucial and therefore SETSA maintains and uses direct automated and manual computer and telephone lines with the national rail operators. Travellers may book journeys on a Scangermania Express train either through the national railway operator or from a SETSA Travel Centre, located in most major train stations, or online at . SETSA Travel Centres are staffed with service personnel who speak the local vernacular as well as German.

Criteria

  • train through two or more countries
  • all cars air-conditioned and heated
  • stop only at major cities
  • stops for no more than five minutes, in special cases (very large cities) up to 15 minutes
  • food and beverages available on-board (preferably from a dining car)
  • conductors speak at least two languages, one of which must be German
  • average speed (including stops) above 100 km/h, exceptions for mountainous terrain and train ferries
  • daytime journey (start after 06.00, arrival earlier than midnight) or if night time journey equipped with sleeping carriage option

The Kaiserliche Wieserreichische Reichsbahnen commends this initiative. As the national railway system operator of the Wieser Empire and administrator of the network in Ascheburg, we express our interest for participating in this project, which can help interconnect Germania and Scania better than ever before.

Aren National Rail (ANR) applauds this initiative and is extremely eager to participate in it. Being the chief operator of the railway system in the Kingdom of Arendaal, we look forward to improving connections between Scania and Germania

SETSA

SETSA kindly asks its partner rail operators to provide a list of 5 or more major cities that they would like to be serviced by Scangermania Express trains. Submissions with maps would be very helpful. It should also be noted that SETSA, while an official 'operator' of the train service, does not own or operate locomotives and carriages. Rather, that is the prerogative of the partner national railway operators. Trains that meet the SETSA criteria must be registered with SETSA and carry the 'Scangermania Express' logo alongside the standard national train liveries. Our goal is to be able to connect all major cities with multiple trains offered per route. This is only possible with cooperation from our partners.

Transcon Cornavia Rail Services

Transcon Cornavia is one of the Commonwealth's four participant companies in the Intercantonal Railway System, and the leading provider of personal railway transportation in intercity and intercantonal categories.

A long-standing leader in Cornavian passenger transportation, we are now interested in opening a partner relationship with the Scanogermanian Express Train Systems Alliance and in offering the cooperation of our company in opening a Scanogermanian Express route into Cornavia.

The involvement of the of Southport-on-Sea, Ashland, Bremerholm, Bolton and Whitehaven is suggested for the Scanogermanian Express initiative.

Regards,
Mrs. Stephanie Calvert,
Chief Executive Officer,
Transcon Cornavia

The SACHEF is interested in connecting Dominici with the Scanogermanian Express service, if Danmark provides possibilities to cross the borders.

Reichsbahnen Franken

The conditions are agreeable for us. For the time being we would like to add Nürnberg, Würzburg, Bamberg, Erlangen and Hirschaid to the selection of stations the SETSA calls.

The Free State's Railways seeks admission into the Scangermania Express alliance. The FSB is the national railway operator of the Free State of Wendmark, owned in majority by the State with the rest held privately.

OOC: Proposed SETSA lines . Or something more or less like that.

Lines do not represent the exact rail tracks. I am just being lazy and doing it Victoria-style.

Following parliamentary approval, it is now possible for the Danish rail network to be connected into the wider SETSA group. We believe this an excellent way to connect the peoples of Germania and Scandinavia, reducing cost, travel time, and enhancing business and trade links.

All current Danish networks will be available, thus facilitating the linkage of southern Germanian nations to the north.

The main terminals in Danmark are Elsinore (Kong Ulf III), Elsinore (Gråsen), Frederikshavn (Mæskstrand), Frederikshavn (Kameløse), Aalborg (Universitet), Glustrup (Central), Rigshavet (Kusten). But all other routes will be open.

Foreign Ministry of Oelar

Oelarian Railways, a division of the Ministry of Transport and Rail, offers a crucial connection between Reichsbahnen Franken and Aren National Rail (via ferry link). As a vital transport link between Scania and Germania, we are excited to participate in the SETSA project.

The foreign minister, Ms. M.H. Alvitr, is interested in beginning negotiations with SETSA officials and would like to make an appointment in Hilversum on her international goodwill trip later this month. While the Oelarian State is not interested in exploring Northern Council membership at this time, we believe in the integration of the two continents is a worthy goal. However, real challenges are before us, and Olmolungring would need substantial development assistance from the Northern Council countries and the Germanic nations to meet international SETSA benchmarks.

We look forward to a fruitful relationship.

In friendship,

S.P. Gunn
Special Counsel to the Foreign Minister

OOC: To be RPed in our present endeavor.
