Unity Network - BREAKING NEWS: Car Bomb Kills Talemantine Vice Chancellor

Tragedy struck at 4:29 AM this morning as a bomb detonated on Neptune-15, a major offshore oil rig 62 kilometres south west of Lozinsk.

The resulting explosion severely damaged the rig's equipment, and killed 29 workers, while injuring another 41.

RAF patrol craft were quick to respond and rescue the survivors and begin damage control protocols. Presently, the oil flow has been stopped, and the pollution contained.

Neptune-15 foreman Andrii Kozak gives the gristly details.

Kozak: It was just like any other day, right? Then Isaak shows up and says "Chief there's a speed boat leaving the hangar." I followed him outside to look, and the next thing I knew, I was on the floor, my ears were ringing, there was fire everywhere, and... and Isaak was impaled on freshly contorted rebar!

[Kozak buries his face in his hands with audible sobbing]

Kozak: I... I'm sorry, I can't talk right now.

The Republic Security Directorate reports that the bomb was planted by agents of the King's Men.

In light of recent events, including the Neptune-15 bombing, the Republic Defence Directorate announced that the USZR has been put on high alert.

As we speak, USZR Air, Ground, and Naval forces have redoubled their efforts to scour all known and suspected terrorist hideouts.

The Lozinsk Air Pollution Index clocked in at 532 as of 12 noon today. According to the Health and Safety Directorate, this is a significant improvement over yesterday's API of 545.

Satellite Launch Scheduled for Mid January - The Aerospace Development Directorate has announced the launch of a new LinkStar Satellite next month. LS-17 is the latest in the Roshniev Conglomerate's LinkStar line of communication satellites, one of several advanced electronics projects whose development within the past decade was greatly bolstered by various research loans from abroad, most notably from the Republic of Yujin. Treachery! Betrayal! A backstabbing most vile we are mortified by the act and more-so the perpetrator! Zalonarus, a nation we once called brothers, our greatest brothers second only to the blood-kin of Greater Sarmatia, our trusted brothers who assisted us in our overthrow of the corrupt regime, have abandoned us in the time we needed them the most, in favor of the mongrel, cowardly rats to our south who have lost all right to the title of Slav. In hindsight, always of perfect vision, we should have known this betrayal would occur, when Zalonarus, so-called allies and brothers in name if not blood, refused to assist us in our just quest to make our nation whole once more. They threw their lot in with the rebel Zarmaj years ago, but were too cowardly to openly say it until we were at our weakest, at our most vulnerable, a testament to the power we have that they fear so greatly.

It was then we should have known, but we deluded ourselves, believing that their excuses were reasons, their reluctance was understandable, and that we would be able to dispense of this problem to our south even without their help, so needed, so necessary, which would have saved countless lives they now claim to save by attacking us when we required assistance. Hypocrisy on top of betrayal! Are the Zalonarus truly Slavs? No Slav worth the title could possibly be this idiotic, selfish, and short-sighted!

Worst of all, the truest testament to the lot they have thrown years ago, is their swift judgement. Without consulting us, without displaying even the smallest bit of skepticism to an act we would never commit against true Slavs, they fall for the rebel Zarmaj lie hook, line, and sinker, or worse yet, they are part of a conspiracy to bring down Lesser Sarmatia, their brothers.

We shall never forget this. All Lesser Sarmatians will never forgive this moment, this hour, when our friends abandoned, us in our just cause, and left us alone to face our vile enemies. We shall prevail, no matter how bloody the fighting is, how difficult the challenges, be they military, political, or economic, are. Hail Lesser Sarmatia!

UFO Video Goes Viral - A self-proclaimed UFO enthusiast and amateur videographer caused a commotion on the UniNet last night when he uploaded a montage consisting of multiple recordings of a single UFO sighting earlier that day. The enthusiast, known only by his ZaloVid account "dragodov459", commented that the combined footage was taken by over a dozen witnesses, including enthusiasts, tourists, and people who "were at the right place at the right time", and that the UFO was likely flying closest to the coastal raion of Pyetrykaw. Republic Defence Directorate officials stated that "there is a strong possibility this UFO was in fact a foreign aircraft, suspected to have originated from Ahiret to the south, across the Black Bay." LinkStar-1 Decommissioning Completed - Pyetrykaw, the Republic Navy made its presence known in the area as it escorted Roshniev-Antonenko Cooperative ships on a mission to recover the recently de-orbited remains of the communications satellite LinkStar-1.
