[Open with an aerial view of a burning oil rig. Several Republican Guard Fleet vessels float nearby, attempting to choke the flames with foam]
Tragedy struck at 4:29 AM this morning as a bomb detonated on Neptune-15, a major offshore oil rig 62 kilometres south west of Lozinsk.
The resulting explosion severely damaged the rig's equipment, and killed 29 workers, while injuring another 41.
RAF patrol craft were quick to respond and rescue the survivors and begin damage control protocols. Presently, the oil flow has been stopped, and the pollution contained.
Neptune-15 foreman Andrii Kozak gives the gristly details.
[Camera pans to a middle aged man on the deck of a rescue vessel, dressed in a yellow gumby suit with burns in several spots]
Kozak: It was just like any other day, right? Then Isaak shows up and says "Chief there's a speed boat leaving the hangar." I followed him outside to look, and the next thing I knew, I was on the floor, my ears were ringing, there was fire everywhere, and... and Isaak was impaled on freshly contorted rebar!
[Kozak buries his face in his hands with audible sobbing]
Kozak: I... I'm sorry, I can't talk right now.
The Republic Security Directorate reports that the bomb was planted by agents of the King's Men.

In light of recent events, including the Neptune-15 bombing, the Republic Defence Directorate announced that the USZR has been put on high alert.
[Camera pans over a large formation of mechanised troops on the parade grounds of a military base]
As we speak, USZR Air, Ground, and Naval forces have redoubled their efforts to scour all known and suspected terrorist hideouts.
[Screen runs through a montage of various military direct action. A UCAV drops a bunker buster bomb on a target structure, completely clearing out the inside. Soldiers fast rope from a hovering chopper to storm a heavily occupied fortification from above as the IFVs in the streets provide cover fire. A corvette opens fire on a fleeing trawler]
Director of Republic Defence, Republic Marshal Borislav Erkovitch, has this to say.
[Camera cuts to a decorated office, where an older senior officer with greyed hair sits at his desk]
Erkovitch: We will be working closely with the Republic Security Directorate and Republic Intelligence Directorate on these matters. We will leave no stone unturned, no crevice thoroughly searched, no darkness untouched by the light!
[Erkovitch raises a clenched fist]
Erkovitch: As the Almighty is my witness, the last grimy, unclean vestiges of Ivan's despotic regime will be cleansed from this earth!

[Open in an office with a tall, imposing man clad in an armoured environmental suit staring directly at the camera]
Blueboy: While the USRZ has sworn to protect the United Zalonarusan Republic from all enemies foreign and domestic, the Unity has decided that it is important to supplement this military force with personnel dedicated solely to defending the Republic and her citizens from enemies of the domestic variety.
[Cut to a sweeping pan shot of a formation of Blueboys on the parade grounds of a Blue Unit base]
Blueboy: That is where the Blue Unit comes in. We are not the Militia.
[Cut to a Blueboy walking past a pair of militiamen guarding a building, who immediately salute him]
Blueboy: We are not the USRZ.
[Cut to a Blueboy and an infantryman comparing their gear, clearly of separate issue]
Blueboy: What we are, is a group of proud citizens of Zalonarus, working to ensure your protection from all threats stalking you from within our very nation's borders.
[Cut to a montage of Blue Unit activities. A Blueboy drags an unkempt man, presumably a terrorist, out of an alley, kicking and screaming. He punches the man out for continued resistance before throwing him into the back of a truck.]
[A fireteam of Blueboys survey a room in the wake of a shootout. Two are escorting freshly-liberated hostages from the room while another is counting the corpses of the kidnappers, and the other two are gathering evidence.]
[A Blueboy climbs up a tree to bring down a little girl's cat just as fire fighters arrive in time to see that someone had taken the initiative before they could get there.]
Blueboy: The Blue Unit is there to deal with any emergencies the Militia cannot handle. And contacting us has never been easier.

Blueboy: Should you require the services of the Blue Unit, do not hesitate to pick up your phone and dial the emergency number on your screen. We will have a team at your location in ten minutes or less, completely guaranteed.

Blueboy: Else, you can email us at this address. The Blue Unit is always on the watch, always on the ready to protect you. But the best protection we can give you, is advice to always be prepared. These are harsh times. Always remember to stay on your guard. Store emergency supplies in the event of disaster, especially an environmental mask and oxygen stores. This has been a reminder from the Blue Unit.

The Lozinsk Air Pollution Index clocked in at 532 as of 12 noon today. According to the Health and Safety Directorate, this is a significant improvement over yesterday's API of 545.
Nevertheless, as we would always like to remind our citizens, environmental masks and oxygen supplies are a necessity when spending time outdoors. Purchase environmental suits if you can.
While Zalonarus is greatly blessed with an abundance of natural resources, perhaps our most valuable commodity is fuel.
[Cut to a panning shot of an offshore oil rig and then a coal mine]
This abundance in fuel, however, serves as a mixed blessing, a double-edged sword that has resulted in steadily increasing levels of air pollution especially in heavily urban areas like Lozinsk.
[Pan across a cityscape covered in smog so thick that even an outline is barely visible]
The Energy Administration Directorate will be announcing its latest findings of the Alternative Energy Commission early next month.
